I've been to this venue many times for various concerts. I like the space. Its intimate and very easy to view the stage no matter where you're sitting. The only con is that the light/stage control booth is right in the middle of the dance floor and takes up space.

Been here for plenty of shoes. The Loft is connected to Second City. Lots of diverse concerts, bar and acoustics. No food, pay parking & adult cool crowd.

I saw my friend's band play here a few months back and I remember really enjoying myself, and not just because it was cool to watch my buddy rock out in front of a fairly large crowd. The Loft is a fairly small bar/music venue; however, the crowds generally do not exceed the maximum capacity considering they are usually there to support their friend's band, or a friend of a friends band, or a friend of a friend of their aunty's sister's cousin's band. I noticed that most of the individuals in attendance were dressed far more appropriately than I was the night I happened to be hanging out here. They were all wearing their cool rocker t-shirts and torn up jeans, while I on the other hand was wearing a polo shirt and baseball hat backwards. As you probably guessed I felt a little out of my element when I initially walked through the front doors. The bar area looks like it cost the owner a pretty penny, considering the counter tops are made of a polished marble slab material that you usually would only see on shows like MTV cribs. Also, whoever made the decision to fill a good portion of the interior with couches and coffee tables should get a raise, because I thought that was an excellent touch to the interior landscape. The acoustics were rather poor here though. I guess you really can't expect the acoustics to be fantastic when the performance takes place in relatively small area.

I guess these performeers had a cable for Spring Trap April 30, 2017.

Located off of Piedmont Avenue - a one way street, look for the valet sign to pull in on the left. The cafe sits below street level - it's downstairs, like in the basement. But the vibes and energy shout sexy, speakeasy and spot to see new or rising talent. On this visit there wasn't any special guest or talent - it was Open Mic. Sign up and save $10 on the cover at the door. They seat you and servers provide menus for food and drinks. We had the grilled shrimp, others had pizza and light bites. The Texas margaritas were delicious and served strong. The talent was engaging and ranged from poets to singers. Overall, I'd definitely come back and check ahead to see who's performing. With the parking and cover, you invest some cash before you're entertained.

Good amount of seating that gives off a family basement kind of vibe. I'll start with the con: the service here was subpar. We sat in the overflow area and there were tables all around us. The two servers that we saw in the area repeatedly NEVER came to our table to greet us or take our order. My boyfriend ended up having to walk himself to the bar to get a drink and order some food for us. Even once the food came I had to flag her down to get another drink. We were not hidden or hard to see, so that was very disappointing. The comedy show was really good. The comedians were fun and funny. Each one's personality was so different and big and we laughed the whole night. Although good service is huge to me, I'd come back and give it another try because overall I really enjoyed the scene.

It wasn't super crowded, plus we got there early, so we were able to go right up to the front. But even if we were further back, it would've still been easy to see. The security, entrance staff, and bartender were all super kind. We could leave and come back, which was nice. It was a bit cold inside the venue so I liked being able to go back to my car for a jacket, which most other venues do not allow. They have a parking garage that ranges from $10-25, which is probably the best bet as parking is limited in this area. Overall, I think this is a great venue. It was clean, easy to grab a drink, and incredible to get so close to the artist performing. It really elevates the performance and whole experience. Shoutout to Wynne for putting on an incredible concert!

First, the location is convenient if you're staying at the Hampton Inn Midtown (just one block to the north). The Vinyl is an intimate room that only holds up to 100 people, so the audience is quite close to the performers. Second, the $18 cover price was reasonable to hear two bands. I actually enjoyed the warm-up performance ("Little Hopes" - a local Atlanta couple who are talented with a positive vibe in their folk/country duets) a lot more than the main event (a Texas band which was way too loud). Can't comment on the food (none is served here), and I skipped the bar given several Yelp reviewer complaints of exorbitant prices. The venue provides free water and cups. One downside is that most people need to stand (not many seats). I arrived 15 minutes before the show started and was able to find a comfortable chair in the back. Look forward to my next visit to Atlanta and seeing another live performance!

The Tabernacle is primarily used for concerts, but hosts other events as well. The building originally opened as a Baptist church in 1911. It became a music venue in 1996. Today, it's owned by Live Nation (Ticketmaster is a subsidiary). The building retains a lot of the look and feel of an early-20th-century church with interesting architecture, stained glass, creaky wooden floors, and all. It has a lot of character, as they say. It also has a lot of bars, at least one on every floor (there are four floors). We attended Ali Wong Live here on Saturday, April 11, 2026. It was a great show and we enjoyed the venue. My wife bought tickets back in November. We sat on the lower level, fairly close to the stage, in Section 102, Row F, Seats 1-2. These seats plus "Premier Parking" in the 100 Luckie St garage (LAZ Parking) cost $380.09 after taxes and fees, via Ticketmaster. The 100 Luckie St garage is two blocks down the street from the Tabernacle. It's an old garage with tight turns and spaces. Before the show, I got a Hendrick's double-shot gin and tonic at the bar in the side room on the second level. It cost $33.45 after tip. A good drink, but expensive. Before this month, the last time I was here was Saturday, August 9, 2014 for a big Yelp event / Yelper party. I loved the layout of the theater, where it seemed like all seats were good seats. They had both floor tickets where it was standing room and then seating that looked kind of like colosseum or stadium seating. Although they had this seating, the place still felt intimate and really added to the ambiance of the concert. I also loved the layout of the lobby area where there were different entry points and a good space for the vendors to sell tour merch and several areas where they had mirrors that gave great photo ops or an area to check your outfit. As someone who has acted before, I can say the issues we experienced were more on the production company than the venue itself. The main problem? Smoke. So much smoke. It was hard to breathe, my eyes were watering, and I'm a pretty tough guy--but my fiancée was really suffering. When I called to request a refund, I learned it wasn't just us. If you're going to use a fog machine, you need to disclose it ahead of time, especially for children, people with respiratory issues, or anyone sensitive to it. On top of that, there was a child crying during the performance. Instead of quietly and discreetly taking them outside, staff tried to address it in the middle of the show, which was distracting for everyone. That said, I do want to thank the venue for working with us to get a refund. The space itself is nice, and I'm open to returning for other productions in the future. Just a heads-up--the seating is very intimate, so be prepared to be close to your neighbors.

There is a limited food menu that is definitely way better than standard "bar food" though neither is it fine dining; it's perfect for a light meal. They do have music certain evenings so it can get quite busy then or on weekend nights.
