Having the vaccine means I can get back to visiting different coffee shops in the Columbus area. This is my second time visiting The Locust Table. Unlike the first time, I decided to sit here with my school work and enjoy the atmosphere. And lovely it was! This time I ordered a cup of coffee and the gooey butter oatmeal cookie. I wanted the lavender earl grey scone, but unfortunately they were out. I ordered at the front and the cashier asked whether I wanted to sit inside or outside (inside) and told me my table. I was given a coffee cup to fill up my coffee, as well as some half and half. The waitress brought my cookie to the table about a minute later. I do recommend this place if you want to work on your laptop, and they seem to encourage it here, given the number of outlets in the dining area. It's a fact that I'll be coming here again. read more

Had a wonderful dinner at Locust Table tonight. The black bean, quinoa, beet burger was excellent! The salad with garbanzo beans and chicken was a real treat. We had the best service. Our waitress was very kind and attentive. We sat outside and it was a perfect night to people watch and enjoy another awesome meal at Locust Table. Will be back again soon. read more

Finally had a chance to check out this local eatery and we were not disappointed. We'd heard good things but just haven't been able to make it over until now. Wife ordered the egg soufflé sandwich and it was great. I got to partake as she couldn't finish it. I had the breakfast burrito sans avocado and the flavor was fantastic. Definitely recommend the salsa, even put it on the sandwich. The side of potatoes were just right. Crispy and tasty but not too many. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Only limitation is the more condensed menu but the upside is that it varies between weekday and weekend, providing different flavor opportunities. read more

While driving to our destination of Shale Hollow Park, the family wanted to grab a bite to eat before we explored the reserve. We checked Yelp for places where we could get brunch on a Sunday and decided on The Locust Table. I was excited to check it out because I love new places. The ambiance is a huge part of making a restaurant hit or miss; this restaurant has a great feel in that department. The Locust Table is pretty wide-opened but somewhat quaint at the same time. It has many windows, making the place very bright and airy. Customer service is another huge part of making or breaking a restaurant, but this place hits the mark when it comes to that. When I came here with my family, It took them a while to bring out our order. When We inquired about what was going on, management apologized and remedied the situation for us. Food-wise, I would say that I will have to come back here and possibly try something else or prepare my mind to have a meal with a mild flavor. Wow. The sandwiches. Buttery, cheesy tender eggs on a flaky focaccia bun. Crisp greenery and a cute Amy Dijon sauce. Melt in your mouth bacon. The breakfast cookie was more of a granola bar. The upfront ordering while paying at the end process is a bit confusing. As was the Covid inspired ways of table assignment and drink procurement. (You get a table number at ordering and serve your own drinks in a nook that clearly was originally designed for servers). The locust table was highly recommended by a friend so I decided to give it a try. The staff was super friendly right from the get go. I got the egg soufflé sandwich and it did not disappoint! Fantastic! We got a Turkey club sandwich and a chicken salad sandwich with fruit and salad as our sides. The sandwiches are amazingly full of flavor! We sat on the patio with a beautiful view of some flowers. We also got coffee which was Stauf's. Have been want to visit here for a couple of months. Was able to get out here for lunch. The place is modern, simple and very clean. They have about 8 tables outside on the patio and quite a few more inside. Menu is limited. They were out of a few things by the time we got there around 1pm. We ordered the breakfast cookie which was a cross between a granola bar and oatmeal cookie. It was very good. I had the chicken salad sandwich. Chicken salad had some fruit in it and was served on a toasted focaccia bread. It was flavorful and good. My wife had the Thai quinoa bowl, it was just ok. She was excited to get staufs coffee. The food overall was good. Tasted fresh and healthy. The portion sizes were fairly small. I paid over $40 for what we had and left feeling a little hungry. I would either lower the prices or increase the portion sizes. Service was good, friendly staff. read more

The only thing I'm mad about is that I hadn't visited sooner. The Locust Table is a true definition of a "local gem" - the space itself is certainly appealing, the kind of open and cozy space that's ideal for a relaxing breakfast or dinner. I went in for the latter today, and got the thai peanut quinoa bowl with tofu. I wanted something that was clean, tasty, and hearty but not heavy; it checked the box on all of those and then some! Veggies were all bright and flavorful, special callout to the pickled cabbage that was so fresh and crunchy vs, soggy like you'd get from a jar. There was a wee touch of heat in the sauce that complemented the overall dish but definitely allowed other flavors to come through. And the tofu - it's hard to find a place that knows how to cook it right and maintain the ideal texture and flavor. The kitchen nailed it! Very friendly service and staff all around as well - can't wait to go back and try their short rib dishes. (Oh, and one of those cookies, too, when I'm finished OD'ing on my kids' Halloween candy). read more

I've been here twice for breakfast, the food was just not my style. The cookies were good but nothing on the menu really clicked for us.

This is the second time I've been here. The food is consistent and tasty. I thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast burrito, which was quite filling after a day of walking at the zoo (it's only 2 miles away). We sat outside; it was so nice to enjoy the sunshine while it lasts. It didn't bother us too much, but there were quite a lot of flies and wasps nipping at our food - but hey, it is a restaurant named after a bug haha. If you want a fresh, simple meal this is the place to come; and very much worth drive to Powell! read more

We love the Locust Table! Favorite dishes are the breakfast burrito and the copy cat Fox in the Snow egg sandwich. They serve the egg sandwich on to die for focaccia, the biggest negative difference between the sandwiches is the sauce. But hardly ever a wait and you don't feel bad sitting and enjoying yourself at the Locust Table whereas you do at Fox in the Snow. Also love that they have Stauf's coffee. Only complaint is wish they opened a little earlier on the weekdays! read more

First off, the place itself is perfectly situated in the new downtown Powell area. It's fresh, open and inviting, and that's even before the spring when you'll be able to dine outside. Speaking of fresh, you could tell the food was even fresher. On their recommendation, I had the turkey sandwich, which I was told was anything but your typical turkey sandwich, And they were right. The focaccia, roast turkey and thick cut bacon combined for an unexpectedly awesome treat. My wife's egg soufflé sandwich was equally impressive. I had a taste and with the one bite I got a ton of flavor staring with the Dijon mayonnaise that added the perfect amount of spice. Can't wait to go back and try the short ribs. read more

The only restaurant I have encountered north of Cincinnati to carry a German staple from that area, geotta, and it is homemade, excellent. Lovely selections, excellent service, reasonable prices, ample parking in the lot, and huge windows, one wall looking several yards to a double train track.
