The place is a simpler local eatery, so decor wasn't exactly a designed by some of the best New York interior decorators, but it was pleasant and very calm. The food is a fusion of various Asian cuisines but it is picked very well and cooked to perfection. Kids loved the Baos and Ramen which is probably one of the best indicators of the quality. From what I can tell it is family owned and run, so service may be a little slower than most similar places but it is definitely attentive and friendlier then most.

I ordered a number of skewers, including shrimp, king mushroom, chicken thigh, steak, the requisite pork. The skewers weee on the small side and just lacked seasoning and flavor. This type of kushiyaki type of food has subtle flavors and relies on top quality ingredients over binchotan. I just got none of it - mute flavors, no smokiness, poor seasoning. To be clear, it's not bad, it just didn't live up to my expectations when compared to a Manhattan izakaya or yakitori joint. Service was fine, but I was disappointed when we asked for a pork cutlet with curry sauce over rice for the little ones, bit minus the curry sauce and it was a rather big deal. Just make the dish and leave it off!

I visited yesterday with my dog after calling ahead to confirm that dogs were welcome…read more Unfortunately, my experience left me very disappointed. The bartender and the rest of the staff were friendly and accommodating, but my interaction with the general manager was the complete opposite. I understand that bringing a dog into an establishment comes with expectations, and I have no issue following the rules. However, the way those expectations were communicated felt unnecessarily rude, condescending, and unwelcoming. At one point, my dog accidentally tipped over his water bowl, which was placed next to my chair and wasn't creating a hazard for other guests. Rather than handling the situation with a bit of grace, the general manager seemed visibly irritated and made me feel uncomfortable over what was clearly an accident. I had been excited to try this wine bar since I recently moved just a few blocks away and was hoping it would become my neighborhood spot. It's unfortunate that one interaction overshadowed an otherwise positive experience with the rest of the staff. Because of how I was treated, I won't be returning.

delicious drinks. didn't know i was a bourbon drinker but here we are. excellent brussel ceaser…read more excellent service (5 hour long dinner). good date night spot and absolutely will return. hallelujah.

Come for to drink, eat somewhere else…read more For those looking to make their liver work, the Monsieur Edouard is spicy and smokey, while the Craig St. Michael blends scotch with rum for a drink that's guaranteed to knock you on your behind. Or keep the last vestiges of summer alive with the tropical-themed Iguana Assembly, full of rum, tea punch and coconut lime. If you're sober or the night's DD, you'll enjoy the tart and fruity Blackberry Jab with lemon, pineapple, pomegranate, and of course, blackberry. However, save your stomach space for elsewhere. We were intrigued by the unique-sounding dishes (no mozzie sticks here, y'all) and excited to try them. But words on paper didn't translate to tastes on tongue--most things felt off or fell flat. - Duck Poutine: As someone born and raised in the Great White North, my arteries basically pump poutine (or are clogged by them, I'm not sure which anymore). So I was looking forward to this duck confit twist on my national dish. Unfortunately, what I got was an over-peppered cauldron of soggy fries with a few nubs of cheese curds in an oddly seasoned gravy. It might be the only time in my life I've pushed away a plate of poutine. No bueno. - Brussels Sprouts Caesar: This was fine, though I failed to taste any miso in the dressing. Generous portions size. - Spicy Elk Meatballs: Spicy tomato sauce, yes. But the elk again tasted over-peppered. And I'm all for trying new meats, but I'm not sure elk translates well as a meatball--too tough and chewy for my liking, even when drowning in aforementioned sauce. The accompanying swiss chard and goat cheese polenta weren't bad--wish there'd been more of those. Service was decent the first time we visited, but not so great the second time. It's also worth noting that the inside is DARK dark and the menu is via QR code, so prepare to blind everyone with your phone throughout the night unless you were bitten by a radioactive spider with night vision.

This place is extremely overrated.. definitely not worth the hype. You need a membership to dine…read morehere, and occasionally they open it to the public. The photos and videos that you see on instagram do not match what you see when you arrive. The restaurant itself feels gimmicky and thrown together. Sure, the holograph on the wall was interesting to look at for 30 seconds, but that's about it. Our server, Nicole, didn't seem like she wanted to be there. The drink selection (especially if you're a rum drinker) was limited. The rum cocktail that I settled on was awful. The manager/owner? stopped by our table and greeted my husband, shook his hand but completely ignored me.... Very strange. Not a big deal for us, but if you are not used to paying $10 for water, an included gratuity or an additional "service fee", get used to it while dining here. The reason for the three stars you ask? While the menu is limited, everything we tried tasted good. The macaroni and cheese balls were my favorite and the mussels, although just a few, were tasty. Besides our assigned server Nicole and the manager, the staff at Casa De Lobo that we interacted with seemed generally friendly and happy to serve us. The pizzeria that you enter into had delish slices (we grabbed a few when leaving) and it was a cool "speakeasy entrance". I came, I saw, I won't be back.
