I had high expectations for this place given the number of high reviews on Google. The parking lot was completely occupied. Luckily there is free valet parking so that is a plus. It was busy here on a Friday night so I recommend making a reservation if possible. When we were seated, I was surprised that our table of four only had one menu. The waitress was only able to spare one more menu. To my surprise, the menu didn't match what was featured on their website, which I'd glanced at beforehand. I understand there are seasonal items but I was a little chagrined that their website menu hadn't been kept up to date as I'd been curious about the lobster pie. One of our party was trying to abstain from meat for religious reasons. There are very few vegetarian entrees. If you don't want a salad and you don't eat fish, the only remaining option is probably the stuffed portobello which actually tasted quite good. Unfortunately I couldn't say the same for the fries. Some were very hard, to the point where I started chewing then gave up. My husband's fries which came with his Bourdain burger apparently tasted great. Unfortunately he asked for more ketchup and ended up waiting a disproportionate amount of time for it. The bread pudding a la mode for dessert was easily the best part. Overall, the ambience is nice but for the price you're paying I think I'd expect a bit more. I might come back to try their brunch but that's probably it. read more

The ambience was lovely and our server was very on point and never let our drinks run empty. It wasn't very busy so it was nice to have a quiet dinner on a Sunday on the patio. Sadly the food was a miss. The tomato soup and artichokes were not a hit. The mussels and crab claws were just ok and the salads just missed a lot of flavor profile. The hamburger came out almost raw and the beef Wellington was very tough and chewy. The best dish we had was the crab cakes overall. We enjoy fine dining and would give this a 5-6/10 read more

Visited here for the first time last Monday per a friends recommendation. We didn't know that the kitchen closes during certain hours during the day. So that is something to keep in mind. We ended up enjoying our drinks until the kitchen reopened. The staff were friendly. Our waiter showed great service and was very friendly. He had a very positive attitude. I had the watermelon basil mocktail turned into a cocktail. The waiter said he asked for Tito to be added. It was very tasty. We were given cornbread with some type of butter and I ordered the stuffed mushroom entree. All of the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend a visit to this restaurant. It can be easy to overlook the street where the restaurant is located. So drive slow when you get in the vicinity. I was told that it is also difficult to get reservations because sometimes they are booked out by a few weeks. We didn't have reservations since we just showed up not knowing the kitchen was closed. I'd recommend making reservations in advance because the restaurant doesn't look that big and can only accommodate a smaller number of people. read more

The sauce that came with it really made the flavor of the eggs pop. I also had the avocado toast (Available during brunch on Sunday) with a strawberry basil mocktail. Delicious. Visited The Local on a trip to MD from Florida visiting friends and family. This place was recommended by a friend, and it did not disappoint. From our top notch service at the bar with Aron, to our amazing craft cocktails, especially the blackberry jalapeño margarita!! Don't forget about the food!! The "beets by chef" and the tuna tostada...also the beef stroganoff was one of the best I've ever tasted. And dessert....the Smore's bread pudding with the toffee ice cream!! All around excellent experience! Great food and service are hard to find, and when you get both in one shot, you get a "regular" customer! Even though Florida is home now, our next trip back will start and end with a meal at The Local! Bravo!! read more

IMPRESSED!!! What a fantastic experience! Our waitress Camryn was outstanding and helpful with food and drink suggestions. We ordered the best charcuterie board I've ever had out at a restaurant, it was beautiful and delicious. Next up we had the filet and sea bass as entrees and we both finished every bite, even the sides were delicious. We rounded out the dinner with bananas foster. Holy cow it was so good! We were so stuffed from dinner but wanted to try it. I figured we would take a few bites..... no, instead we finished it too. Amazing dessert!!!!! We decided to stop in as I had seen this place as I was passing by. The food was good, at least my partners was good. He ordered the chicken which I wished I had ordered. I ordered the stroganoff. The stroganoff was disappointing, it only had 3 medallions of beef. This was hardly worth $29. It's a good idea and a nice atmosphere however the prices are way too high. If I'm paying $29 for something I would expect to have a bigger portion. The waiter was awkward, nice guy however I found myself waiting and asking for things several times. He seemed too tided up with conversations. Just needs to better feel the appropriate timing. Again hardly worth the $69 I paid for dinner. Bottom line This place has good food, the 1/2 chicken was outstanding however there are some aspects that need rapid change in order for this establishment to survive past the honeymoon stage. read more

Interesting new American restaurant in the area! The set up inside and out is super cute, we sat outside on a semi-sunny day, I believe they have warmers inside the tent for colder days. The host station is right outside of the main door near the parking lot. You do have to walk through the restaurant to enter the outdoor area. The overall atmosphere for the restaurant was nice, it seemed very inviting to come eat, the overall restaurant is smaller inside but they have made the place look nice. Also the bathroom is unisex and was very clean, still looked new. Our server came right out after we sat and took our orders. The food came out pretty quickly. Food - the French fries seasoning was a little to sweet for our likening but otherwise cooked good, they were salty perfectly (kinda wished there was an option for no seasoning or another less sweet type). The oysters were great and you get lots of horseradish and cocktail sauce. Out of all the three dishes we got, we'd say the salad was our favorite, it had a nice light dressing and lots of different things inside. Next try we are going to try the other oyster dish! Also there's a note on the menu that it changes based on the seasons, so we can't wait to come back and visit. read more

Wow! Been trying to get into this place since they opened. Tonight we took a chance and were able to get a seat for two for a seating on Friday night prime time. The atmosphere is like a local pub where everybody knows your name. The music is mixed but pleasant being played through the speakers. The service is great and Libby was a superb server But, if you really want to get to know, this place order the "Ma-The-Meatloaf". As seen in the picture below, this is by far and away the best meatloaf I have ever had... I have no words! To top it off this place boasts of being farm to table with everything being local with 100 miles. We had a chance to meet the manager, Russell McCann, and he was not only friendly, but amazingly gracious and we felt connected. The flourless chocolate torte is frantically amazing. The charcuterie board came with 4 pieces with of crustini's. We had meats and cheese left to eat . We asked for more bread or crackers or something . Our server said he had oyster crackers??? How ridiculous. He finally said we could have more crostini but it would cost . We paid 3.00 for another 4 small pieces.
