Delicious food. Everything I've had here is so full of flavor and very fresh. The staff are always really nice.

The food is ok for what it is. My complaint is how their Postmates is set up. I wanted to order a burger with spicy fries but the spicy fries aren't available separately so you have to order the combo. I didn't really want their drink options but was going to do it just to get the spicy fries. The description said if you select the combo then list which drink you want in the Special Instructions but they didn't have a Special Instructions area set up. So I ended up ordering a different drink that wasn't included in the combo. Luckily they had a coupon offer that I used so I didn't end up feeling like I paid extra for a drink that should've been included in the price. But anyway if the manager sees this and you tend to not get a lot of combo orders through Postmates, that's probably why. read more

This place makes me sad. Why? Because I ate here and wasted my carb count (I have GD) on a porchetta sandwich and their poutine. The porchetta: so greasy, it was oily through the wrapper, but then oddly enough, the pork was dry. It still had some fat, but was kinda dry and tasteless. This was not good. Like my husband threw it away instead of eating it after he had the first bite. :(... The only saving grace was the bread but even that was cut uneven and then when they sliced the sandwich in half, they didn't cut it through to the bottom layer of bread. So next we have the poutine. Wow, I cannot believe I haven't tried this place. In my first experience I tried the cheese steak sandwich. Although it was delicious, I have to say it was a bit greasy and the greasy got everywhere, on the meat, the bread, the wrapper, etc. Would not recommend eat this without several napkins. Although I would order again, I would more than likely try something different on my next visit. I also tried the braised beef poutine. It was good, but felt like if they used a different type of potato, maybe like the fries with ripples it would catch the other stuff better, I just think the potatoes brought it down a notch. I have to admit, I'm not much of a poutine fan. While I love my fries, if I'm going to eat it with other things, say gravy, on top of it, I want my fries to be covered in it. The Kroft is located inside a converted hangar that houses other popular eateries. Food: I wasn't really sure what I wanted to eat, but I did know I didn't want a sandwich. Having not had the opportunity to try a sample of their food during the YES event last year, I tried them out this time around. I got the fried chicken poutine. The chicken was their fried chicken cut up in chunks over gravy, green onions, cheese curds, pickled onions over a bed of fries. Here's the problem: There were more fries than anything else and not enough gravy to go around. I'm not sure how poutine is actually supposed to be served, but if you're going to give me gravy over my fries, at least make sure I get enough of it to cover my fries. Too many fries is no good either so I ended up eating all the chicken and a few more fries that had gravy on it and tossed the rest. Maybe I picked the wrong dish. I don't know. Supposedly, they're known for their chicken. I don't know about that because the chicken itself I ate was barely seasoned and tasted a little dry. Maybe I'll pick something else next time and see. I went here with my wife after she got off her long day of work. We are going to try everything in the LBX hangar so we decided to try The Kroft. We ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala poutine. The cashier recommended this to us and I felt like we should have gotten something else to eat. A positive of our experience is that the portion is huge and the fries were crispy, which is our favorite type of fries. However, there were a lot of issues with our experience. They didn't have a lot of cheese curds (which is a MUST HAVE in poutine) and had too much spices. The gravy just tasted a lot more like curry than traditional poutine and we didn't get that much chicken. The price for it was $10 which is not bad for the portion but it just wasn't right for us. We are going to give it a second try in the near future and I will update the review then. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this restaurant. read more

Only try this place if you want something pretty heavy- maybe on a cold rainy day. Everything is pretty dense haha. They are known for their sandwiches and poutines. I personally like the Chicken Tikka Masala Poutine because it is different and has cheese chunks in it and who can say no to that? haha However, when I visited last night just before they closed, the fries were super hard- kinda like they had the fries already ready and they refried them to make them hot again instead of making a fresh batch. My bf and I were trying to grab them with our forks and it ended up breaking both of our forks because they were so hard. We got the cubano sandwich as well and it was pretty yummy. We saved it until this morning and it was still good! Maybe go during the daytime so they can give you fresh fries instead of refried ones. Please do not continue to do this! Poutine fries!!! *drool* I originally had them at their location at the APH, so I was happy to hear that they were opening a location in the Hangar. I came here with a friend for lunch and while he was browsing around the different restaurants...I made a beeline straight for the Kroft. I ordered the Porchetta Sandwich with a side of potato salad (all sides are separate prices...the only downside to eating here) and their Classic Poutine Fries. Porchetta: Loaded with pork belly, caramelized onions, and arugula on ciabatta bread. Soooo good!!! I ended up saving the other half because the portion size was pretty big. Also, I needed to save room for those bomb poutine fries. Classic Poutine: Hands down, the best I've ever had. There's different poutines with other toppings you can choose from, but honestly, the classic is where it's at! The gravy and the cheese curds meld so perfectly together. We came to the Long Beach Exchange to see what all they hype was for and decided to eat inside the Hangar. As you walk up to the Hangar and open the doors, you are greeted with a hand full of different types of eating places and the one with the least line happened to be the Kroft. We walked right up and was greeted by the cashier who was pleasant when asking what we wanted to eat. After over looking the menu and being the Canadian I am, me and my partner decided to split the loco moco poutine. The poutine was made fairly quickly in about 5-10 minutes but they give you the customer paging so you know immediately when your food is ready. I went to go pick up my poutine and noticed off to the side they have hot sauce and other condiments that you can put on your poutine for extra flavor. I brought the poutine back to the table while we drank our beer from the bar that is located inside the Hangar at the far end of the building. The loco moco came with fries, gravy, cheese curds, meatloaf, green onions and topped with an egg. The flavor was just A-ok and nothing to go bragging about because it lacked a lot of flavor and not that much gravy or cheese curds that make the best poutines so I decided to put a little siracha on the fries which I have never had to do before until now. I have been to the Kroft located at the Anaheim packing district and I would have to say, I find them to be a lot better with flavor then Long Beach. If we are in the area again, we probably will try other things in this building then come here since I hear they specialize in poutines and I didn't get a great first impression. read more

I was thoroughly impressed with the sandwich - the beef was juicy and tender and the pickled onions balanced off any of heaviness, plus the bread was nice and soft. The poutine was good as well, but after a few bites, it became overly salty. It's probably the combo of cheese and gravy, both of which includes quite a bit of salt, so I might just stick with normal fries next time. To me, the porchetta sandwich is like the Holy Grail of sandwiches. Of those who claim to have it, few actually have an offering that meets my idea of a righteous sando. Pork belly, pork loin, cracklins, peppery arugula, oh yeah! In NorCal, only Roli Roti offers the standard for this sandwich. However, it's only offered on Saturday at the SF Ferry Building Farmer's Market. So I rarely get the chance to enjoy it since Saturday is my day to road bike or mountain bike ride. In SoCal, the place to go for this sando is The Kroft. Thankfully, they now have a new location at The Hangar at LBX so we no longer have to drive out to Tustin/Anaheim. For Both items the chicken was overcooked, the sandwich was very dry, almost no sauce only slaw which was good but it needed more sauce. The poutine fries were solid but the katsu sauce was minimal and full of carrots. I get that some curry has carrots but not this much, especially over fries. Almost non existent curds, maybe like 5 pieces in all. Maybe i ordered the wrong one. Will give them one more shot and just get.the basic poutine next time. The portions are good, and more than enough for one person. I would definitely recommend sharing. Reading from the reviews, someone suggested to have the chicken on the side which is a great pro tip to ensure the crispy texture of the chicken and for it to not get soggy with all the sauces. I'd recommend doing this even with the country fried chicken poutine. Don't let these items fool you, it can get heavy real quick. Best to share with 1-2 people. The Porchetta was just OK. The issue was the meat. It's chopped in small cubes and there wasn't much. Most of the flavor came from arugula and salsa verde. I feel it would be a bit better if the meat was in slab cut. The Braised Beef was DELICIOUS! It really had the slow cooked flavor. Their bread was perfect, soft and chewy.
