Food is great with very large portions and the prices are reasonable. Service was great. You will not leave hungry!!!

    Duck Gumbo's delicious!

We had the grilled pimento cheese sandwich and duck gumbo (soup of the day). The pimento cheese was so delicious and I don't normally buy pimento cheese but this has my enthusiastic recommendation. The gumbo had a rich roux and plenty of tender duck meat! So good! The service was great. The walls were filled with fun New Orleans decorations! We will be back. Plus they are just starting breakfast and a Sunday brunch. We'll be back for that, too!

Oh wow! They have a small menu, but I promise that you will not have an issue picking something that will taste amazing! Their satsuma margaritas are a must try and their daily specials are amazing! I had the kale quinoa sweet potato cakes special and they were absolutely amazing! They should think about putting them in their menu. It wasn't super filling and tasted fantastic.

If you are in the area, you must stop here! The Palmetto grilled cheese and duck gumbo was the best meal I had all week in NOLA! The bread was toasted to perfection and was crunchy but soft and buttery. The palmetto cheese had just a bit of spice and was pure bliss. The duck in the gumbo was so tender and delicious! I was truly impressed with the service also. Such a wonderful small family owned business! I hope to come back because this food was so epic, I will be craving it for years to come!

Note: This experience and subsequent review occurred during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. As part of the 2020 coronavirus shut down I am trying to support my local businesses. I do not have a large budget though, so I limit my spending to one fairly cheap meal per week. One of the ways I pick where to spend my money is if they are giving back to the community in some way. I saw on Facebook that The Kitchen Table was providing meals to front line medical workers, so I decided to give them a shot. They are active on Facebook and post regular updates, which makes things easier in these times. They were advertising quarts and pints of soup to-go, so I opted for a quart of sweet potato and andouille soup. I ordered and paid over the phone and they brought it out to my car (some people were still going inside for pickup). Yes, these was a bit of a delay in the delivery to my car, but considering the chaos of the times it is understandable. The soup itself was delicious: creamy, with a nice balance of sweet, savory, and spicy. I ended up getting three meals out of the quart and felt my $12 were well spent. I look forward to getting to sit down in their restaurant once all this is over, and being able to write a better review of their establishment.

I was working in Arabi for the week and was looking for something local to try. Through yelp + instagram I found Kitchen Table cafe. I did not know what to expect but when i got the food it was so amazing that i've been back several times I first tried the lentil soup, which was good; the grilled cheese which was amazing; the salad which was also great; and the grilled eggplant stew which was more like a curry served with rice - but still good Overall, great food with excellent flavor and good service

This beautiful bar is located in the swanky Hotel Peter and Paul hotel, located in the Marigny neighborhood. It's also attached to an equally stunning restaurant that's perfect for blog or instagram photos. Our bartender offered great conversation and gave good recommendations and descriptions of the various cocktails. I had the Sonnet to my Wife, made with mezcal, St. Germaine, aperol, and lemon. Tart and mildly smoky. I also had the Adding machine, made with tequila, guava, velvet falernum, pomegranate, and lime. A little sweet, a little spicy with a complex flavor profile. I enjoyed both drinks. If not for my husband, I would have stayed for at least a few hours trying the whole menu. So many beautiful cocktails to choose from. They have beer and wine as well, but you'd be doing yourself a disservice. You can get those anywhere. They also have breakfast with eggs, sausage, omelettes, pancakes. Dinner with savory little numbers like smoked bone marrow and braised short ribs with smoked gouda polenta. Salads, grilled quid, pork chops, scallops, various veggies (crispy brussels sprouts, caramelized leeks, charrted broccolini, roasted mushrooms). I would gladly return for some of these delicious selections.

Dinner was good, but probably would have been great had the service been better. (The manager and the server apologized, and if we had more time were willing to comp a meal if we could revisit. Unfortunately, we were leaving the next day, so they did the next best thing: they comped almost half of our bill. WELL DONE!) The restaurant is very inviting with parlors and an atrium. The tables are spaced well apart for noise and a possible romantic dinner/Breakfast. :-) Once seated, the server was working very hard but found us. (They may have been short since the jazz festival was in town) She took our drink orders, which arrived quickly. She explained the menu and let us think about our choice. The drinks were Flaura and Fauna, and Ballad Inventory. Both were unique and tasty. When our server returned, we ordered all of our items. We ordered Chicken under a brick and Braised Short Ribs for entrees. We ordered Roasted Mushrooms, Charred Broccoli, and Dinner Rolls. The Kitchen fell short in timing as rolls arrived at the end of our meal, and a few dishes were lukewarm at best. When refired, they were very good. ( See above) The meal itself and the surroundings were good. At the end of our meal, the manager and the server came over and apologized and told us they would be talking to the team. When the bill arrived, the manager had comped more than half of our total bill *( drinks, bread, mushrooms... $ 168 to $85). We didn't expect this, but it shows how much they care to make things right with customers. Elysian Bar and Restaurant is worth visiting, and you should visit for dinner or breakfast. ,

They have shows every weekend, and it really turns brunch into a whole experience. The brunch itself was really good too. Amazing service, There's a solid variety of dishes--from classic options like chicken and waffles to more New Orleans-style plates like shrimp & grits--so there's something for everyone. Overall, it's a perfect mix of good food, fun vibes, and great performances. Definitely a must if you're in New Orleans and want something a little different for brunch!

This means that they can't perform for all customers at once, which is fine. BUT, they had 3 performers, and I think they could have had 2 performers going at the same time to get more coverage between rooms. Or, get more performers. Honestly, the show needed a little more variety. One of the servers said he had auditioned as a dancer but they didn't have a spot, but I would argue they very much do. It would have been nice to see more than 3 performers. They do give change, so if you're worried about getting cash from an ATM or that you only have big bills, worry no more! They have a guy that goes around at the start of the show and gives change. Service was good, mimosa ratios were great. Food was also good. We had the pork chops, crab curry bisque, and truffle mac and cheese. All were great, especially the crab curry bisque. I'm not sure how you get bar seats, but that seemed like the place to be. It's where all the performers seemed to start and had the best view.

Four delicate leaves of butter lettuce with a creamy dressing embrace tiny succulent squares of perfectly fried tofu smothered in Buffalo sauce. It's divine and you should order these no matter what. The other remarkable attribute of Bar Brine is the service. We had the sweetest waitress and she was totally understanding when my friend sent her frozen drink back because it was more strong than sweet (she's a bit of a wimp oh well). She was also very attentive and helpful with the menu. I love Sneaky Pickle, when during the day there's plenty of vegan lunch options and a bright, sunny dining room. At night, Bar Brine turns sultry, boozy and edgy/romantic. Perfect for a date or group of friends (though admittedly the acoustics reminded me of when it was Maurepas years ago and how loud it was in there). My friend and I couldn't stop going on about the Buffalo tofu and naturally were excited for the main course, grilled trumpet mushrooms over grits. Unfortunately, this is nowhere in the league of the tofu dish and it may be because I don't love rubbery textures, but I found it bland. The grits are coarse and not too flavorful either. Salt helped but I can't recommend this entree. I'll definitely return for doubles on the Buffalo tofu and hopefully will try the tempeh reuben or cauliflower vegan options next time. Also cool because your vegan-dubious friends can order meaty fare here if they don't trust and believe that the Buffalo tofu ranks up there with the best things you'll eat in this town.

Charming patio, and beautiful intimate interior with just 4 seats at the gorgeous bar and about 6 small tables inside. The cocktail menu is seasonal, and this spring, many were tea infused. We shared 5 small plates - the crawfish bread - crawfish inside a crispy, flaky croissant like bread - OMG deliciousness. Then the tufa crudo - so fresh and flavorful, the crab tartlets - fine, but not as good as the other dishes; excellent salad, and the broccolini in a housemade horseradish goat cheese sauce - wow; one of the best broccolini dishes we have had. The carrots looked amazing, too. What a treat!

The vibes were immaculate from the moment we walked through the outdoor patio! We were seated upstairs at a table for two and our server helpfully explained all the different parts of the menu. We weren't super hungry so we split a bunch of lighter bites and grabbed a handful of cocktails as well. Our favorites of the night were the crab tartlettes and the savory calas with snapper pastrami. The tuno crudo had fresh fish but it felt a bit overwhelmed by the other flavors, which were kind of one-note and heavy. The bread that came with it was overtoasted, but the foie gras parfait was excellent. We ended the night with the grapefruit sesame panna cotta. The flavors were surprising but they worked really well together. Would definitely come back for cocktails and light bites the next time we're in the city!
