This place is a great beach bar! Foods good, some unique selections, reasonably priced, happy servers and bartenders, open late, bands on the weekend and right on the strip. I'd give it a 5 star but they could really use an overall cleaning and a little updating. read more

It's not very often that I'll go to a place that seems so suited to me in every possible way. And in an area that has seen its share of breakfast joints come and go (as well as the ever-present, but never very impressive Art and Pat's), I think the Jetty is absolutely onto something with its brunch offerings. I was impressed by the diverse menu (with a good mix of healthy and less healthy options), very happy with my fluffy, huge pancakes and pretty much steady stream of coffee from the moment I sat down til I walked out the door, but what really sealed it for me were three things: 1. Live music by Sarah Martin: in my time there she soulfully covered everything from Sarah Borelis to Journey in folky interpretations accompanied by her acoustic guitar. Honestly, if you go for nothing else, go see her - she's there every other Sunday. 2. Awesome waitstaff and personal attention from the owners: One of the owners came over twice to see how we were doing. He told us that he and his wife own the place, and a kid who I'm assuming is their son was hanging around too. Loved the family atmosphere (even though the place is a bar - ha) and the idea of this family pursuing their dreams! 3. Perfect atmosphere/vibe: The idea behind the place is a "sports bar for participants" - the owner explained that because so many people bike and run (not to mention surf) along the strip in Brant Rock in the summer, part of the idea was to create a spot to hang out before/after/during activities. As a certified weekend warrior, I love this idea, and will definitely be back for drinks/dinner/lunch sometime soon. read more

I want soo much to love this place. Can't beat location with beautiful surroundings and steps from the beach, great live music and easy parking it should be great!! Should be.. but it isn't... For a place that is practically beach-side, The Jetty is dark and completely closed off to the outside; no outside patio or deck and no windows that open completely. Bummer, but given that this area has been hit hard by coastal flooding I can understand why this might be an issue. Another huge bummer is the service... Its pretty terrible and slow. We sat at the bar for a late lunch this past Saturday and were ignored unless we literally waved someone over. The food menu might as well be any south shore bar, nothing special and some odd options for a beach bar/restaurant. There were only 2 seafood options on the menu - one of which is fried calamari (this is not a "seafood" restaurant, but I found this odd!!). The fish tacos were ok, but they were heavily breaded an super greasy. The burger more closely resembled a hockey puck and "medium" meant burnt. We didn't love anything we ate. The live music is definitely a huge plus, huge. They always have great performers and the crowd is generally really cool and fun - but the staff are for some reason, not particularly friendly or helpful. I hope this place improves, I still want to love it, but until changes are made, I'll head across the street and listen to the music from here on the deck... read more

My wife and I went in today and had a 16 oz. draft beer each-Untold. Each beer was $8.50 each... we're like WTF is this? The guy next to us had fish and chips that had much more batter than fish with a 1b.of fries as filler. The waitress had the personality of a doorknob and the music is always way too loud so much so you can't even talk. I think we're done with this place if the prices don't come down. Made the mistake of going to this establishment on Sunday. I live in Marshfield and have been looking for a new place that served a decent breakfast, this was NOT it. The owners have done a nice job decorating the place, but they should stick to their late night venue. First of all, you are greeted as you walk in with a line of outside smokers, the menu itself is limited and my breakfast sandwich had ONE overcooked piece of bacon. My husband had the same experience with his breakfast. All in all this was a bad bet for your dollar. read more

I've always loved coming here and was having a great time today until we ordered food. We were a party of six and ordered multiple appetizers. The waitress had told us when we arrived we would only be able to sit at our table until 7:30 as there was a reservation coming in. We placed our food order at 6. At 7 we asked the waitress about the food. She first told us she had told us we needed to leave at 7:30. We said that's why we ordered at 6. She apologized and said she never put the order in. I would give this place -5 stars if it were not for the amazing waitress. It's after when things went down hill at your establishment. There was an incident with an unrelated person in the bar area. As I went in to pick my mother up an extremely rude staff member ran up at me and told me to leave without asking or knowing me at all and assumed I was starting a problem. If your not going to hire nice staff your not going to be in business that long. That staff member was extremely rude and should get a talk from your managers on how to deal with customers and situations. I will never step foot in your restaurant again. I've had a craving for a good burger for the past week and I received a birthday email from red robin in Plymouth for a free burger. I was on my way this frigid Friday to get my free burger, but realized it was 25 minutes away and I'm feeling lazy. I decided to forgo my free burger and head to a local joint, so I decided on The Jetty. They have a really cool beach/surf vibe which takes me back to my Cali upbringing. I ordered their burger due to my week long craving and let me tell you, it was incredible! Well seasoned beef, fresh veggies and good ole American cheese toped with a great bun. I'm glad to know I can get a great burger 10 minutes from my house. My bartender Stephanie was great too, very nice and made me feel at home. Went to this restaurant for a birthday celebration and I can't understand all the glowing reviews. Menu is limited and the salad was half bread with a slice of under ripe heirloom tomato and slice of cucumber; missing the additional items listed. Soup was too sweet and not eaten. Lemonade tasted like water with a slice of lemon. Waitress noticed we didn't eat most of our food and didn't ask if there was a problem. I sent an email to the restaurant and received no response. I've been here twice. Once when they first opened, and about a week ago. Both times were incredibly disappointing. The portion size sucks and the selections are extremely limited. Also, why is there no salt and pepper on the table? I got steak tips and there were 5 of them. They were good, but they were small. It was $18.99. It came with fingerling potatoes and carrots which were clearly dropped into a frialator and were inedible. Our appetizer of shrimp was good but was dropped off without extra plates, so we had to eat them off the same plate. By the time she came back and noticed, the appetizer was gone. It's also very loud in there. Too bad, good location and I wish something decent would have gone in there. read more

A great place for drinks after a long day on the beach or at work but you can get better food elsewhere in the esplanade. The food reminds me of an expensive restaurant in Boston in the ingredients that are put in it, the price, and the presentation of it. It can really be hit or miss and the handful of times I have gone in for a meal, they are usually out of what I want. Great entertainment almost every night. The atmosphere itself is fantastic and makes for a great meeting spot with friends. Most of the waitresses are very nice. read more

We just had dinner at the jetty last night and we pleasantly surprised! Except for a slight delay in getting our food we had a wonderful experience. Between the 4 adults we had the Cod, shrimp tacos, pasta bolognese, and steak tips. Each entree was fantastic! My favorite was the cod. It was served with a fantastic grilled corn that was out if this world! Our server was very pleasant. We will definitely be back! read more

There aren't too many options in Marshfield for dinner, but this is a good one. Feels like an authentic beach bar/restaurant and has a good variety of food and drinks. We both got fish tacos which were overall good but were a bit overwhelmed by the plain cabbage included on almost all of them--we probably would have preferred a different green or a pickled version. The cocktails were good and the beer list was long. I see that they also have brunch and would've loved to check that out as well. Would definitely come back! read more

While I waited for my friend to arrive I ordered wine which they gave me a taste of. The glass came with lipstick on it. They gave me a fresh glass. Both bartenders and the hostess were very nice. My friend arrived and also ordered wine. Her glass was also dirty. We ordered the hummus and pita appetizer. The homemade pita had clearly been made earlier in the day. It was kind of stale and not warm. Hummus was mediocre. It says it came with seasonal vegetables. There was maybe 5 pieces of warm zucchini on our plate. It was pretty dark in there and kind of loud considering there were not many people in there. It was a Monday night. We finished our wine and went to Haddads instead. read more

Worst Bloody Mary ever! Went there after the Marshfield race on Saturday. Had a great Bloody at Venus II for under $8. Went to Jetty to compare - OMG should have never left Venus II. The mix may have been bad - but disgusting. My friend and I returned them both - it was painful to even try to drink them. Asked for extra spicy - not at all. The bartender (not the one we ordered them from) must have known, because no issues 'exchanging' the drink. (only reason I am giving 2 stars) Plus over $10 for the drink. read more

I've been here between 5 & 10 times (for lunch/dinner and sometimes just for drinks), and have never had a bad experience. The atmosphere is great - think little surf shack by the beach... because it's literally right next to the beach. Pros: - Atmosphere - cool oceanside bar and grill that anyone is welcomed to - Staff - Very friendly. I don't know any of them personally but they've always been professional and pleasant - Parking is easy as they have a small lot and there's plenty of street parking right outside the building. - The food is good for the price. It's not incredible, but you'll be able to find something that you like. I'd recommend the fish tacos. Cons: - It can be tough to find a place to sit/stand when it gets crowded on weekend nights, but so do the other bars in the area - They typically have live music on weekends and while I enjoy it, sometimes they turn it up so loud that you have to yell back and forth to have a conversation with your friends and spend half of the conversation saying "what?" read more

The service leaves much to be desired and was seriously lacking. our server took over 25 minutes to deliver 3 coffees, 2 kids choc milks (no chocolate) a bloody mary, a tea and a hot cocoa. literally it was over 25 minutes and she had not even taken our brunch order. i seriously thought she had quit her job and walked out the back door. We had no sugar or spoons for any of our beverages, I used my knife to stir my coffee. My brother and I had the jetty egg sandwiches that was nothing special, a bit pricey and small, the fingerling potatoes were cold and sandwich had 1 piece of bacon on it. the pancake my father got was the size of a frisbee, literally spilling over the plate it was served on leaving him zero room to cut it let alone pour syrup or spread butter. i asked if they had kids pancakes and was told they did yet we were charged for an adult size. the french toast looked pretty good at the table next to us. Staff does not know the menu, my wife asked if her order came with toast, the waitress asked "it does?". my mother's plate was also incomplete as they forgot her toast too, which they eventually did bring later after being reminded. i give people the benefit of the doubt as i have been in the restaurant business for over 25 years but this was particularly bad. nobody seemed to care. the hostess sat us and was gone, i never saw her again for over a hour and i was literally sitting next to the host stand. credit to the bartender who asked us if anyone was waiting on us. she filled the table next to us coffees TWICE before our drink order was completed. i actually tried to pay for our incomplete drink order and leave before she returned to take our food order but my wife reminded me of our 2 and 5 year old would have to wait somewhere else for food regardless. i was never rude just disappointed. the waitress got her 20% tip anyway but service like this will kill repeat business. plenty of others have tried in this same building and failed, the jetty staff needs to pull it together and hope they don't follow like their predecessors. decor and business logo are pretty cool but i will never return for that. read more

went to the Jetty for a little nostalgia, the fat city band was playing there and I had seen them back in the 80's and they were great, as was the Jetty, great vibe, great service, really had a blast. Wish i could give a half star for a total of 4.5 but ill round up. My husband and i are VERY picky about where we spend our restaurant dollars and this place has yet to disappoint. We often go for brunch or the limited yet yummy breakfast and the gouda omelette and huevos tacos are delish! I personally would be weary of the garlic mayo on blts and other sandwiches but that is a personal preference and not a reflection on the quality of food. The jetty mimosa is a great cocktail and the bloody mary bar is an excellent value. The food is fresh, clean and tastes like someone cares. One of our south shore favorites for lunch and breakfast. Went to the Jetty on a Friday evening after 8:30. We were seated right away. Friendly enough staff, but loud when we were finally seated. The menu is small, but so is the place. It works well as a bar, and there are a lot of TVs, though only half that I could see had sports ( labeled as a SPORTS BAR, yet only half the tvs had sports on them, the others had news or music videos - neither of which could be heard). The Jetty was unbelievably LOUD. I ordered a burger (again, a very small menu) and my girlfriend ordered the cod. My burger was nicely cooked, and came with some very good fries. The burger had little flavor, though. I was told by my girlfriend that the cod was good. The Jetty is a BAR, and I'd suggest other places to eat. If you want to hang out in a place with loud live music, poor acoustics that make it almost impossible to have a conversation without yelling, then I'd recommend The Jetty. read more

Found it by chance, the town was definitely in out of season mode... we had a great breakfast and the staff was really friendly. from outside the place looks a bit like a beach booze bar but its definitely more upmarket. really glass for the water, not plastic as in so many others and solid cutlery.... makes a very good impression !! read more

Atmosphere- pretty decor. Live music was good but a bit too loud for our early dinner hour. Also many loud/intoxicated people at the bar for the early hour. Service- lacking. This place was not busy. Server didn't check in and served one entree fifteen minutes after the other three. No explanation. Waitress clearly want to drop items and run without taking any requests. Food- nope. Two burgers came out raw in the center despite the request for medium. Burgers were also seriously lacking in seasoning. Fish tacos were lacking fish for the price. And cod was mediocre. Stopped for lunch after we discovered the Fairview is closed. Had a draft, my partner a wine and each had a sandwich. Pour was good on the beer as well as the wine. My partner loved the steak tips sandwich but could not eat the roll because it had been over toasted. The accompanying fries were standard fare. My cod sandwich was a total disappointment. Reading other reviews in the thread it is clear the chef does not know how to properly cook fish. The roll was fresh. Onion rings were similarly overdone or the fryer was too hot. Summary- friendly place for a drink and watching a game but forget the food. We should have guessed when we were the only ones at the bar eating. read more

Been here a few times already.. The staff here always seems friendly and helpful, typically you are seated right away and don't have to wait around for a bartender or waitress to come over. The atmosphere is usually good - love that they have live music and they are constantly trying to draw in a crowd and connect to the town. The complete renovation and decoration from the previous restaurant there also came out great. The food has been hit or miss the few times we are there. While the menu has some good unique options, it is way too small, overpriced, and missing some essentials for a sports bar. No club or chicken sandwich?. No soup for less than $16? My husband got the burger one trip and while the burger patty itself was a good size and cooked well, it was completely tasteless. No seasoning used at all. This was a huge miss for a sports bar and their only entree option with meat for less than $15. I went for the fish tacos and while they were not bad, they were not filling at all and I was shocked they weren't served with a side of rice or beans, which would be cheap for a restaurant to throw in there. (Although looks like both of those complaints have already been posted on yelp, so maybe it was my mistake for ordering them!) On top of that they only have 3 sides and all are $5 - so no option to throw on a cheap side - cause that brings most meals to $20+ by now. And $5 for roasted potatoes seems outrageous in my mind. Look at surrounding menus - the Fairview has 10+ sides, most under $3. Breakfast was better though, the breakfast sandwich and home fries for $6 was good and they do have an excellent bloody Mary! Overall, the place has a good environment and the staff seems nice - but without a change in their menu soon - valuing their items appropriately, improving upon the taste, and adding more variety, I don't think they'll be there much longer than the previous restaurant was.
