Just had brunch with my family. We were a large party and made reservations. After ordering, we waited over an hour for the food to arrive. It took close to 15 minutes for all of us to receive our meals. The food came out cold and undercooked. There was also a 2 hour wait for hash. French Toast - soggy, stale, cold Pancakes - cold Meatballs - undercooked The place was rather quiet and our waitress never asked us how our meals were. Our dirty plates sat in front of us the entire time we were there. Waitress never offered to remove them. The atmosphere was nice - good acoustic guitar. Looks like a cool place for evening drinks. Really trying to support local, but come on. Drinks are twice as much as the bar 50 ft away. Ordered some food, when server came and dropped it off, she neglected to leave utensils or dipping sauce. After a bit, one of us went inside and just asked a server we could see " I know you weren't our waitress, but can we get the dipping sauce and utensils?". After a few minutes, she came over with it, with a real face on, and when we said thank you, she dropped the stuff and turned and left. NOT the first time we have been disappointed, but we had a $50 gift card. Two small apps, 3 wine, 2 mixed drinks came to $80. I was torn about how many stars to give the Jetty. The lunch items were very good. We had the fish tacos, the BBQ beef tacos and a burger. The breakfast items were not as plentiful. Our service was very slow and our waitress was not very attentive. We were there for my daughter's 21st birthday and though we were promised a free drink it never materialized. We've been here a number of times - always with the thought that "this time" it will be good. Never happens. This was our last attempt. Sunday afternoon so they were not busy. The bartender was awful. She did nothing to welcome us - no greeting, no smile. Just basically stood and took our drink order. Not even a coaster. I know that's a little thing but still. And then to charge $8.50 for an IPA!? Give me a break. The atmosphere and service are so lousy they should be half price. The gentleman next to us ordered fish and chips and it was pretty basic. I'm 23. The bouncer, Mike, denied me access because I had a different hairstyle in my drivers license. Asked for another form of ID, so I gave him my state ID. Mike then told me it was illegal to have two forms of ID. Lol. What a joke. Awful attitude. Never coming back or recommending this bar to anyone. Terrible service. So originally like the restaurant, thought it was cute and the food was good. Service however subpar. The manager was pretty rude to us. We ordered two burgers and the menus says "Mon/Tues $7 burger" and told the waitress we wanted burgers due to the deal for the day and she said okay. After getting out burgers we were charged the full thing and asked why. The manager had come over saying only one of the burgers was the deal The Patio burger and we said the menu doesn't say that. She went on telling us it might not say which burger but that's not her problem and it is what it is only the patio burger would be the deal out of the list of burgers. I flat out said no you're taking down the bill as it's the restaurants fault for not specifying, listing it or writing it. She said if so the servers should say it which they did not. I said since it's not written or informed it's the restaurants fault so she took off one of the burgers. Was still slightly more than if we had gotten the deal but that's all she would do. They also had given us the wrong order to start the night as well. I'll say I liked my food but the way we were treated and talked to was rude. I suggested that she listed what the specials apply to specifically. Don't have a weekly special section that says $7 burgers and have a list of burgers a different place. read more

I've given this place 3 trys...3 strikes and your out. The food is horrible! Pros: Great atmosphere for drinks only. Cons: TERRIBLE food. First time was for dinner..served a charred to death burger..uneatable. Brunch for 6...stale French toast..could barely cut it! All toast was warm bread..not toasted at all! All the bacon was not cooked at all...we sent it all back. LONG waits...they seat you fairly quickly but the food takes forever to arrive!! You wouldn't mind waiting if it was worth it but to be served such horrific food after waiting an hour is UNAcceptable!! Well worst service so far the worst we have ever had and the bouncer was not a nice person to us or our friends. He also greeted us with hostility when we came in. He asked for our ids and asked us to pay for a cover charge for the band i think. but we wanted to stop in for a couple of drinks and some appetizers. As we approached the door we handed our ids out to him. He asked us if there was going to be a problem and we asked why. He started to mumble on to my friend about his id. My buddy hands him is passport to show its was not a fake id. He had an out of state I.D. He keeps going on as is idea was fake and he can catch them. So, we sat down, and it was over an hour before our waitress had come to the table and when she got there, she rolled her eyes at us. My gf asked her is everything alright but i guess the bounce was grabbing at her and he was an older gentleman with a scally cap on. so we just grab some beers and nachos, the food came out after few minutes and the chips were not fully cooked and toppings had a weird taste to them. This was literally the worst experience of my life. We came for brunch with a large party. When we came in the place was fairly empty. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive. The staff basically ignored us for the whole hour that we waited and didn't offer to refill drinks or anything. Then when the food did come they gave us our food in increments. (They would give it to three people at a time instead of all at once) It was cold, under cooked, and in extremely small portions. Stopped in on a whim they other day. I live right around the corner from The Jetty but never ventured in. I am sorry I didn't do it earlier, sorry I stuck to the "locals" hang outs. This place was stellar. Food, service, drinks & atmosphere are wonderful. I had the Fish Tacos,my had a the burger. The tacos were awesome, not those frozen little strips you usually get with fish tacos but a nice piece of fresh cod done perfectly. They had a "little kick" as the menu states, just right. Burger was cooked perfect, he likes well done. Heck usually that means shoe leather but this was cooked well and still tasty and not in the least dried out. Our server was not just attentive but downright friendly & pleasant, I nice change from the other places where you get the "I.m so busy, I'll get to you" vibe. Not sure if it was an owner or manager but whichever he was also sure to check, actually twice, on how we liked everything. I did get to watch him training new staff & will say impressed on how detail & customer experience he realyed. We wil be hitting The Jetty on a regular basis!! Oh and I loved how the had live feed of the ocean on inside TVs. I moved to the beach for a reason, loved getting to see it live while dining, ven in crappy weather. read more

This place has so much potential, but alas, not the greatest experience. The atmosphere is pretty awesome (great sunset view from the bar) and the food was good (we just had fish tacos). Some of the staff - wait, let's be honest, ONE bartender was awesome. The rest did not know what they were doing. We walked in around 6:15 pm on a Sunday after spending the day at the beach in Duxbury. The hostess greeted us and told us it would be a 10-15 minute wait. There were about 10 open tables, so we found this odd. While we were chatting with her, a server came through and I had to step out of her way. She stopped to talk to the hostess because she didn't know which table was Table 8, where her food was supposed to be going. We put our name in and moseyed over to the bar. Our drink order was taken right away and we got a couple beers and thought this wouldn't be so bad. We were so confused by the open tables though, so my date went back up to the hostess and asked if we could sit at one of the open tables. She said that the kitchen was backed up so they were trying not to seat anyone just yet. Twenty minutes later, the hostess still hadn't come over to seat us, so we just asked if we could order food at the bar. They said sure and said they'd bring us some menus. Those menus took a good five minutes to arrive, even though there were plenty of bar staff doing very little work. The awesome bartender brought us menus and told us they were out of about five things on the menu... a little odd when it wasn't even dinner rush time yet. We shook it off and both ordered fish tacos. Another bartender asked me if I wanted another beer, which was nice, but she neglected to ask my date if he wanted one. Our food came and it was good, but getting some hot sauce took an extra ten minutes. The fish tacos were quite tasty, especially with some fresh lime juice (good luck getting some limes :P ) and some habanero hot sauce. I wish they had been served with something other than tortilla chips though... who wants more tortillas with their tacos? Maybe rice and beans? As we were eating, some people next to us (locals, I presume) were getting pretty rowdy. They were hammered. I found it funny but my date didn't agree. They left and then we watched another server deliver the wrong food to a table. The hostess never did come back over to seat us, by the way. All in all, I think the food was good and I think there are some people that work there (or maybe just the one girl) who are just doing the best with what they've been given to work with. I stopped in here for lunch the other day on my way home from a short vacation in the area. We actually stopped here at first because we wanted some ice cream and this place had a sign for smoothies. When we got in we were told that they wouldn't have the ingredients they needed for smoothies until the end of the week, but we were hungry so we stayed for lunch anyway. I would have appreciated it if they didn't put the sign up until after they actually had them, but that's not a huge deal. We sat at the bar and I started out with a Shipyard Blueberry. I really appreciated the fact that the bartender added a handful of fresh (not frozen) blueberries to the drink. I think all draft blueberry beers should come with fresh blueberries but unfortunately most bars do not put in that extra effort. For lunch I ordered the soft pita sandwich. The sandwich was actually excellent, but it was extremely messy and hard to handle. That isn't a complaint, just an observation. My only "complaint" about the sandwich is that the hard boiled egg comes basically whole, and I would have rather it be chopped up and mixed in. Other than that, I was impressed with the quality of the food. The bartender was very friendly but could have been a little more attentive. There were only 4 people at the bar and nobody at the restaurant so she wasn't overly busy. I still had to wait a while for her to offer a beer refill and she never offered to refill my water. Overall, I was still impressed with this place for the food and would be happy to return if I'm ever back in the area. read more

You wonder what things would be like if there were more than a handful of others there. Quick review: Food, pretty decent. Drinks: Not sure if it was the young waitress relaying the info bad, or just a bad drink maker. Stick with things that come in bottles or on tap. Surroundings: Nice feel to the place. We went on Monday Labor Day, we went to Brant Rock to check out the ocean so we thought we'd give The Jetty a try. Today it was not a good experience at all. Too loud, poor service, and food was way below average. I got fish tacos and those were not good at all, frozen fish in deep fried batter. The fish inside was mushy & cold and the batter was burned. My son got chicken fingers, but out came two 7-inch pieces of chicken in the same burned deep fried batter. My wife got a burger and that was average. The food took about 25 minutes to come out and the kitchen failed to make the appetizer entirely. We were all done with our drinks for at least 10 minutes but the waitress was busy chatting with friends/regulars. The manager who works hard (he was clearing & cleaning tables) recognized they goofed and apologized, saying it was busy there and they were short-staffed but I won't be back, there's too many other places around that are good. read more

The Jetty has only been opened for 4 days (I think) and there's more to like then there isn't. Kinks to work out, yes... but don't all new restaurants? We started with the scallop and grits as well as the meatballs for appetizers. The meatballs are without a doubt the best I've ever had. The scallops were excellent - sweet and perfectly cooked. The corn grits - I'd like to see some bacon or chorizo added for flavor - kind of bland. I had the short rib tacos - the filling was tasty, I'd like some crunchy slaw (or more of it). They're in soft corn shells, which I don't care for, I prefer flour tortillas. Hope they give the option in the future. My husband had the burger which he really enjoyed and was perfectly cooked. My brother had the steak tips. ordered medium but were delivered well done and dry - he liked the flavor and if cooked correctly thinks they'd be awesome. The weird broccoli on the dish needs a makeover... Of note: I don't really care for french fries - I don't know what they do to them, but they're awesome! The kinks: slooowwww service. I think we waited for 15 minutes for our first round of drinks and my first glass of wine was more like a shot portion - the second was on point. All in all - strong start. I had not planned on dining out but because of the day's circumstances, but ultimately decided on the Jetty. I had my well-behaved, trained parrot in tow with me. She sat quietly on my leg, beneath the table, during the duration of my meal. I've had eaten there numerous times with her in tow and no issue, so I felt like given the consistency, they were fine with it.. My server was great, and the bartender was friendly as well.. It was dead inside, and as I was getting ready to leave, I noticed the manager had moved away from the bar, and had positioned himself at the hostess stand. I politely smiled as I passed him, heading toward the exit, when suddenly he abruptly reprimands me about my bird. There was no "excuse me, " or "may I speak with you a moment?" Just no professional or even courteous mannerisms that you would expect from a "manager." I told him that I would have appreciated this information BEFORE I ate. I said that I would have understood, and politely left, as to avoid the awkward moment he was now creating. As mentioned, I've eaten at the Jetty numerous times, and having her with me has never been an issue. Being rudely reprimanded like a child by some manager on a power trip felt gross. As a manager, he could have at least been kind in his approach toward a repeat patron. I would have been fine with it. This place has gone downhill the last two years. Not worth tolerating when the outside of the place looks like trash now, and there's so many other restaurants to choose from. read more

We had the Fish Tacos as well as the Short Rib with Mac & Cheese. The Fish Tacos could have used a slightly better batter, maybe lighter, but overall tastey with hints of spice from aioli. The Short Rib [$18] stole the show with tender, well seasoned, delicious meat. Onion rings suffered from a poor batter too, but the Mac & Cheese was an amazing pair with the Short Rib. Servers were very attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was great for groups & plenty of TVs if you want to catch a game. We did not care for this place. The food was just ok. I was bummed as I wanted to love this place. Well the fact that the waitress lost our credit card and the just so-so food, we would not be back. Serivce was not good either. We went back the next day and low and behold, they had found our credit card. Clearly it dropped out of the waitresses credit card / bill holder as we gave it to her and when she came back, it wasn't there. She said she gave it to us, ummm, I disagreed with her. It's not very often that I'll go to a place that seems so suited to me in every possible way. And in an area that has seen its share of breakfast joints come and go (as well as the ever-present, but never very impressive Art and Pat's), I think the Jetty is absolutely onto something with its brunch offerings. I was impressed by the diverse menu (with a good mix of healthy and less healthy options), very happy with my fluffy, huge pancakes and pretty much steady stream of coffee from the moment I sat down til I walked out the door, but what really sealed it for me were three things: 1. Live music by Sarah Martin: in my time there she soulfully covered everything from Sarah Borelis to Journey in folky interpretations accompanied by her acoustic guitar. Honestly, if you go for nothing else, go see her - she's there every other Sunday. 2. Awesome waitstaff and personal attention from the owners: One of the owners came over twice to see how we were doing. He told us that he and his wife own the place, and a kid who I'm assuming is their son was hanging around too. Loved the family atmosphere (even though the place is a bar - ha) and the idea of this family pursuing their dreams! 3. Perfect atmosphere/vibe: The idea behind the place is a "sports bar for participants" - the owner explained that because so many people bike and run (not to mention surf) along the strip in Brant Rock in the summer, part of the idea was to create a spot to hang out before/after/during activities. As a certified weekend warrior, I love this idea, and will definitely be back for drinks/dinner/lunch sometime soon. read more
