There isn't much variety in the food or how it's prepared and it leans toward jerk spicy seasoning so if you've got kids it's probably a turnoff. The fun decor is gone in favor of a larger work counter, Jamaican flags, and bottles of Red Stripe and Guinness. To be honest, if Cozzy Corner failed here, this place will be closed soon too. First time to the Kaukauna location. It is a bigger dining area than the Appleton restaurant. If you're looking for a cozy, friendly place for bbq, this is the best bet. I ordered the pulled pork with Mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. Corn bread comes with as well. The pork was good, not the best I've had. It wasn't quite as tender as I've had before. Could've been that it was later in the day, nonetheless, it was great flavor. The mashed potatoes were a little salty. I love their mac n cheese, the best I've had. Cornbread is almost a dessert. Perfectly done. The manager is friendly and great. The waitress that was greeting us was on the phone with a customer, so we sat ourselves. She seemed a little preoccupied so didn't get to us right away but the manager took great care of us. It wasn't as great as what I've had at the Appleton location, but still the best bbq in town. I was so happy when my favorite downtown Appleton restaurant opened in Kaukauna. This downtown Kaukauna location is just as hip as the Appleton location and more spacious! The food is delicious with great authentic Southern food such as gumbo, jambalaya, fried catfish, corn bread, fried chicken, sausage, barbecue pork, and much more. And they MAKE all the food here. No opening packages and warming it up and calling that cooking. Everything I've tasted is delicious and staff is friendly. The food is sometimes a little bit of a wait, but again, they actually make all their food from scratch. In my opinion the deliciousness of everything makes it worth the wait. We had been wanting to try this place for a while, but kept forgetting about it when choosing where to eat. We went tonight (Saturday night) and it exceeded expectations. Perfect combination of sweet and spicy. I got the jerk chicken sandwich for only $8, and it was was HUGE, even the table next to us came over and asked what we had ordered because of the size. My fiancé got a traditional dish called "sweet ting" and it was excellent! Definitely will be going back! One downfall was that there is very limited seating. Ordered carry-out for lunch yesterday for the family and it was amazing! We had the Jerk Chicken, Rum Pork and Doobies yesterday and saved the Ribs and Brown Stew for today. Can't wait to try them. The pork was so tender, shredded and with no "scary bits" of fat. Served over the rice and peas to soak up all the sauce and juices, so you don't lose a bit of them So much flavor and not overpoweringly spicy, just a nice slow burn under the aromatics. The Doobie is a brilliant idea, the wrapper is light, crisp and not at all greasy. The filling was a perfect balance of spice from the jerk and cooling of the cabbage. My absolute favorite little restaurant in Appleton. The owner recognizes us every time we walk in since we have been customers since day one. They have done so much to make themselves a staple of our city. The decor inside is clean and fits the ambiance and the type of food they serve. They have many options that fit everyone's taste. The jerk chicken is a must try the flavor is incredible. The ribs are a close second. The rice bowls are great for people wanting a healthier option. They now came out with a mild and spicy option for the jerk sauce to accommodate everyone's taste. The rum cake and the 7-Up cake are delicious options for dessert. I wish the fries would be consistent every time we go, they seem to change the type of fries they serve every month or so which is odd. I saw this place driving one day and didn't know it existed. Decided to try it and had the short ribs. They were fantastic. The char was really good and the meat was tender and pulled off the bone which is what a perfectly cooked rib is supposed to do. The smoke was just right. All that said the star of the dish was the sauce. Really, really tasty. Sweet and spicy just the way jerk is supposed to be. The rice and cabbage rounded out the dish. I've eaten here a few times now that they have moved closer to where I work. I rarely write reviews, but you can literally throw a dart at this menu and you can't go wrong. Their "doobies" (which are basically jerk style egg rolls) are a go to every time I go there. Recently I had the Jerk Chicken Mango Nachos and the flavors of sweet and spicy with fresh fruit and vegetables is incredible. My co-workers sent me on a lunch run a couple months ago and get something to "surprise" them, now we get lunch from here 2-4 times a month. This is not fast food, it's made to order. My food was another 15 minute wait (asked for it in a to go box) and I didn't get all my food, was missing Cajun fries.
