Upon waking in place is upscale and the decor is absolutely so cute it's like palm beach meets Ireland. Pink, green, gold and leaves- grand ceilings. Amazing bathrooms clean with your own personal marble sink in the stall. Popped in for lunch, did not have to wait for a table at all. Service was slow. Minimal air conditioning felt. Had Shepards pie which was good and it came with a side of peas that were so fresh. Sourdough bread and butter food as well. read more

The Ivy Dublin is a large, beautifully designed restaurant, and it definitely makes a strong first impression. Unfortunately, the experience didn't quite match the setting. The space was so loud that it was genuinely difficult to hear anyone at our own table, which took away from the overall meal. Food-wise, it was a mixed bag. The fish and chips were average, and three of the four portions at our table had a surprising number of bones. Accompanying the fish, the mushy peas didn't have much flavor, though the chips themselves were decent. The blackened cod tasted more like it had been marinated in a soy glaze than actually blackened, but the flavor was still good -- just not much else to the dish. The burger was massive and cooked to a standard medium (for anyone visiting from outside Ireland, that's typical). Service was the biggest miss. It took an extremely long time to get drinks, and even longer for entrées to arrive. Between the noise level, the slow pacing, and the uneven food, I don't think I'd return. read more

This place is trendy and loud, however the food was delicious. The staff will check in your coat while you dine which I loved. If you have to wait for a table you can get a drink at the bar and they'll grab you when your table is ready. Everything we tried was well seasoned. We left with a full belly. I ordered the Social Menu for $65.00 which included a glass of sparkling wine, an appetizer, an entree, and a dessert. It was worth it and I ate everything. The tempura prawns were my favorite. read more

What an unforgettable lunch it was. From the moment we walked into The Ivy on Dawson Street, the atmosphere was electric yet elegant. The décor is stunning -- colorful, lively, and sophisticated without feeling stiff. It's the kind of place that immediately makes you feel like you chose well. The food was outstanding. Every dish was beautifully presented and packed with flavor. Refined but comforting. Thoughtful but not overcomplicated. You can tell there's real care behind the menu -- classic European influences blended with quality Irish ingredients, executed perfectly. But what truly made this lunch exceptional was Roberto. Roberto, who is Portuguese, made us feel completely at home from the very first interaction. Warm, attentive, natural -- never forced. He read the table perfectly, offered thoughtful recommendations, and elevated the entire experience with his energy and professionalism. We've dined in many places, but this level of service stands out anywhere in the world. And then he went even further. He personally introduced us and walked us over to the new Asian restaurant they've just opened, making sure we were properly welcomed there as well. That kind of pride and hospitality is rare. Because of him, we're going back tonight to experience it. The Ivy delivered incredible food and a beautiful setting. Roberto delivered an experience we won't forget. We'll absolutely be back -- and we'll be asking for him again. read more

Very beautiful interior for a nice meal. We stopped by for lunch and checked out their price fixe menu. For €29 you get a starter and an entree. I ordered the duck salad and the sea bass. Both were delicious. We also enjoyed the house white that is €7 with lunch. Delicious bread as well. Everyone was very friendly. We didn't make a reservation but they recommend you do so. read more

As the last dinner in Dublin of our trip, this was a highly disappointing end. As other reviews have mentioned, the food is exceedingly hit or miss. The mains were delicious while the dessert and starters were mid at best. Service was remarkable only in that it was so poor. We believe the waitress who took our order and served us drinks left or went on lunch before starters were served because we never saw her again and it took about 15 minutes after starters were finished for someone to come and clear the plates away. Neighboring tables were still being serviced at a normal rate, how strange. Mains were served and cleared away at a standard pace but dessert menus or inquiries about whether we would care for dessert only came out 15-20 minutes after mains had been cleared. Oh also, one of the mains was dropped on the way out of the kitchen so that presented an awkward moment where 3 out of the 4 of us had food and 1 did not. Overall, service was very off and on. Lots of waitstaff circulating but few taking proactive action. Ambiance is upscale dining. read more

The Ivy Dawson Street, Dublin's first international brasserie from The Ivy Collection, is a visual masterpiece. Located just south of Trinity College, this establishment is bright and stylish that can only be described as an explosion of color. The rainbow definitely threw up here. Ha! During our visit, we began with the Tuna Sashimi Tacos. The tuna was exceptionally fresh and vibrant--probably the brightest tuna I've ever seen. Each bite was a melt-in-your-mouth bite. For the main course, we chose the Monkfish and Prawn Curry. This dish featured Keralan curry with jasmine rice, shaved coconut, coriander, and sweet potato crisps. Delish. Loved this lunch! read more

I agree with other reviewers that the order of strengths of the Ivy are, decor/ surroundings, service and food, in that order. I was there with a group, and we'd placed our orders in advance of our trip. There was definitely some miscommunications around this, and so our group leader had to go through the entire list with the servers to ensure folks got what they ordered. Even with that, people were served erratically -- some folks at a table got their food before others, some tables got served before other tables. The appetizers were good; I had the burrata over tomato salad. Then I ordered steak medium well; it came back medium to medium rare, and I had to ask to have it cooked more, which they took care of. The meat was fine, nothing to rave about. Dessert was mediocre -- we had an apple tart with a scoop of ice cream. Took a bite or two of the tart, but didn't feel it was good enough to finish. I've read reviews from others who raved about the Ivy, but there wasn't enough positives around my meal or what my friends had for me to consider returning. read more

The atmosphere was great, the food was tasty but everything arrived room temperature. We had the oat latte, black coffee, vegetarian Benedict, lobster Benedict, and pancakes. The latter was not that good, the black coffee was ok. The food again, tasty but arrived cold. The service was ok. For the atmosphere, I would go back again, not sure if anything else draws me back here. read more

I came here because another restaurant that my friend recommended was way too full and they suggested this one. Thank goodness they did because not only was it a great place to eat (the place was packed) but the service was really good for Dublin as the waitress kept checking in on me. I ordered the fish and chips, which I know, how typical, but they had the best presentation of fish of chips in Dublin that I personally experienced, and everything tasted amazing as well. I got to sit downstairs in an area that was more private and quiet which I liked as well so don't be afraid to ask for that. Really amazing place! read more

Give this place a miss. We were here at the weekend and it was bad. My wife ordered fish. Our waiter asked if she had any allergies, she said she had a shellfish allergy. The waiter told her she could not have the fish then!!! because they cook the shellfish and the fish in the same oil and there may be cross contamination. We have NEVER heard of this before. Every other restaurant in Ireland is able to serve these safely but not The Ivy!. I got a lamb shepherd's pie. No taste of lamb off it whatsoever. I also got a cocktail and it came with a dirty beermat on top of my glass. This was to keep the smoke in the glass till it was removed at the table. I then had to drink from a glass that had a dirty beer mat on it. Disgusting. Overall, overpriced drink, bland food, no fish and a dirty glass. Do not go here and waste your money. read more

The Ivy in Dublin off Dawson St is conveniently located in the heart of the city. Walk by & you'll be captivated by the colors of their restaurant. You'll find pops of gold, pink, blues & greens! Make sure to stop in to find their drink specials & delicious menu. We got the tuna sashimi tacos which were chefs kiss!!! We also got the monkfish & prawn curry. Talk about a boast of flavor! Our waiter was great, constantly checking in on us. As an American in Europe, it's takes more time to grab the check here but that's ok, there was plenty of entertainment in this space! The IVY is a must when in Dublin if your looking for something a little trendier and shall I say Instagram worthy? The ivy didn't disappoint it's such a gorgeous restaurant, bar, and I actually took photos of the bathroom. Think I'm kidding? Really go look and you'll thank me later. Service: the hostesses were very friendly and bubbly. We had an early breakfast reservation and I'm really glad we were smart enough to do so. The breakfast tables started to fill up pretty quick after we had gotten there. This is definitely the kind of spot where you should always make a reservation. Anyways, our server was efficient and on top of things - our drinks were always filled and food came out quick. She was a little hard to snag at the end to get our check but like I said they did start to get busy. It was breakfast so I passed on a cocktail and had the shakerato which was the most fantastic vanilla espresso chilled in a martini glass. I could have drank 5 of those, that drink is one of the best coffee non alcohol drinks I've ever tried. But if your craving an AM cocktail the table next to us had bloody Mary's that looked out of this world. The food for breakfast was more a 4/5. I had simple scrambled eggs on toast and a side of sausage. The breakfast sausage had a good kick of spice and were tasty. The scrambled eggs were a little overdone for my taste but presentation was beautiful. I really want to come back for lunch/dinner as that's a good looking menu. The ivy might be a tad overrated in the food department but I'm a sucker for a fancy drink and a beautiful aesthetic. Beautiful for a girls brunch or cool enough for a date night. Id definitely be back when in Dublin. read more

I've been to The Ivy in Dublin three times now( I've only been here 4 days) and I keep coming back for the Apple Tart Fine--I seriously can't get enough of it! The steak was a surprise when it arrived in a smoky glass dome, and the broccoli with lemon, salt, and pepper was simple but really good. One of the biggest standouts, though, was the truffle fries. They were perfectly crispy and topped with truffle cheese--absolutely delicious, even though I'm not usually a french fry person. But, once again, that Apple Tart Fine is the real star. I'll definitely be back before I leave Dublin! read more

The service here was pretty good. However, if your dining here you're definitely going for the atmosphere and ambience, not the food. Our waitress was super nice. We had made reservations ahead of time which I definitely recommend if you're going to try this place as it seemed impossible to go to last minute. The service was quick, just the food was very average. It's a little pricier so I wouldn't come back again unless the food was amazing but I will say the entire interior was beautifully decorated. I would definitely go back for drinks or something small but I don't think I'd go again with how much other good food you can get in the area for that price point. read more

A mixed experience. Started with the mozzarella salad and it was great. Lots of cheese, good flavors and the right amount of courgette. Disappointed in the Korean chicken main, did not taste special at all. Little flavor, Noy bad but something you'd expect at a fast casual chain. Service was also disappointing but that's probably more due to Covid than the restaurant, very long wait for dessert menu, sometimes large gaps in overall attentiveness. read more

I've been here twice now. Both times, good food and great service. However, I'm afraid that will be my last time going. As someone who has mild lactose intolerance I didn't disclose any allergies because I was distracted. And I ordered a desert not reading it properly. When it arrived with the ice cream on top I asked the waiter very politely if it could be taken off and apologized for not saying something sooner. He said he would see what he could do and I thanked him and said if he couldn't it was no problem. The matre d then comes over to me and begins giving out about how it's my fault that they shouldn't have to bring me a new one because I didn't disclose an allergy (I had already apologized profusely to the waiter) and gets angry with me. As someone who works in hospitality never in a million years would I ever be borderline yelling at a customer. I am severely disappointed with the customer service and I believe that person needs to understand you cannot speak to customers paying hundreds in the demeaning and condescending tone she was speaking in. Safe to say I will not be returning to a place that doesn't treat people with respect and a little sincerity read more

Straight away, the food was excellent no argument about it. Now for the experience... Monica at the host stand was warm and welcoming...to the parties in front of us. Once it was our turn in line, I greeted her warmly as we were so very excited to have a beautiful dinner on our last night in Ireland. Her face completely changed from the party in front of us, she didn't greet us and put her head down in what looked like disgust. Grabbed our menus, sat us and walked coldly away. Took a bit for the server to stop by after we were sat and when we did, the greeting was "What can I do for you?". I'm sorry? How about drink orders to start? Maybe some water if it isn't too much trouble. Drinks, starters and main course were ordered. Martinis we're great, food was wonderful, except for when Marc literally threw my plate on the table like it killed him to serve me. He must have a kind part of his body though because he did come back over, grab a throw pillow off the bench next to us and bring it clear across the room to a woman who needed it for the back of her chair. How sweet! I'll just take my thrown steak, thanks! Honestly, me and my fiancé felt targeted. From beginning to end. Which was it? Homophobia, the fact that we're American or because I am of color (only only in the restaurant)? I'm an incredibly kind soul and very forgiving/dismissive to ignorance. My fiancé could literally see the rage building inside of me from how we were being treated. I am utterly disgusted and quite hurt. We were treated with so much respect during our trip not to be treated so poorly on our last night in Europe. Shame. read more

So, as a special treat. I overcame my aversion to their infamous policy on tipping and came here for breakfast. Service was swift and professional. The room of course is fantastic. Opulence at every turn. My full Irish was perfect and my companion's pancakes were deemed excellent too. My latte wasn't hot enough but that's a common enough problem. I ordered an espresso instead which was just the business. My oh had something called an espresso shakeratu which looked suspiciously like an espresso martini at 10.30 in the morning. Average food. Atmosphere is awesome, but the service was brutal. We had a table of 8 and had a preset menu and it was about 45 minutes between each course. Ordered a beer during first course and took 25 minutes to get it. On top of that we had someone order off the vegan menu and had a piece of duck on it. I'm sure this was just an off day. This place is incredibly chic and the interior is what I wish my home looked like, but my gosh, the service is god awful. We watched everyone who ordered after us eat their food as we waited for ours. My steak was so rare that I didn't want it, but by the time I got it, we were already nearly late for a show. I begrudgingly ate it. Then it was difficult to get the check, so we overpayed without waiting for change just to make it out on time. read more

The Ivy restaurant has been the buzz of Dublin for the last while. Since opening I had heard great things about it so was surprised when we were able to get a table the day before. We arrived to a smiley welcome where they took our coats and hung them up for us. This was a great start! We were then sat at the table but then ignored by the waiters and waitresses walking by our table for 10 minutes before we were offered water. The waiters/waitresses attitudes were abysmal and the food wasn't much better. They do a menu where it is two courses for 19.95, this menu has three starter options and four mains options. I got roasted chicken breast with olive oil mashed potato and bourguinon sauce. It was a very plain dinner. The potatoes didn't have much flavour and the chicken was fine. It felt a bit like a microwaved dinner put out on the plate with a bit of greenery thrown on the top for decoration. My friend's dinners they said were just ok. One got cod goujons and the other got the steak. The steak looked like a big portion. I wouldn't be rushing back in a hurry. There are definitely better places around Dawson Street to eat. read more

Meh. Food: Steak tartar was very good. The shepherd's pie was tiny and mediocre. The lamb was good. Atmosphere: The music is a melodic upbeat clubish track that drove me insane after about 20 minutes. I think they do it to turn the tables over. The place is attractive but a little much. The Ivy is like the Cheesecake Factory of Europe. Not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing; your guess is as good as mine. We ate dinner at The Ivy one night in Dublin and found that overall the food was average with a higher than average price. The food was good, delivered very quickly, and our order was correct. Just nothing about the food really stuck out as incredible or above average. Considering all of the great restaurants in Dublin, after dinner at The Ivy I felt like I should have went somewhere else. The interior design of The Ivy is very earthy and natural with lots, and I do mean lots, of plants. The staff were polite and professional, and they offered to hold our coats during dinner; I thought this was a nice gesture. They have a good sales tactic that works quite well, and you don't even mind. It occurs when you check in, your table isn't ready so they offer you to wait at the bar for 10-15 minutes until your table is ready. You go to the bar and order a drink, and then within minutes of your drink being delivered, your table is ready! While waiting for our drinks at the bar, I observed this tactic over and over again. Their desserts are well above average and the delivery was impressive. Not only were the desserts visually impressive (lots of fire at your table to finish the desserts), but they also tasted wonderfully. read more

It's pretentious, it's pricey and the food is distinctively average! You really are paying for the occasion and surroundings which in all honesty are very enjoyable. There's a great atmosphere and buzz around the place and the decor is bright and vibrant. It really is a nice place to be. The wine menu is top class and I highly recommend the temperenillo which is stunning. The food is a bit freezer to fork. It's ok and for the prices should be better. I ordered a starter with shiitake mushrooms that tuned out to be essentially a bowl of mash potatoes, not good. Beef sandwich was nice to be fair. It's one of those places where if you go you'll recall it being nice and remember nothing about the food Added* should have mentioned, the removed the cost of the bowl of spuds starter which was a nice touch! read more

You ever dream about those fancy dining places, where everything from the décor to the ambiance screams rich and upscale? Where you are able to have a Cinderalla at the ball moment or a Pretty woman transformation moment. I kid you know this place gave me all these vibes and more. As a child the only grandmother I knew was a non-blood related family friend who was Irish yet raised in England. She would tell stories over a cup of nice hot tea and sweet and would promise one day she would take me for a high tea. Years passed, and she passed as well, and we never had the chance to get high tea together, but I knew it was a must if I ever made it out to Ireland. Sure, as luck would have it we were on a walking shopping frenzy and this place was on my to do list to have high tea at. We decided to research and see how far it was from where we already were, and it was about a 10 min cab ride. I made sure that we could get there before tea time ended and we got there in record time. The only thing I did not check was that reservations are required! Just my luck made it all the way out to Ireland and I wouldn't be able to have High Tea here, the thought was too much to bare for me. We were greeted right away by two lovely hosts who were so lovely and helpful. When they heard that we did not have a reservation they told us to wait a moment and that they would see if there was availability. As we patiently waited for the answer I caught a glimpse of the décor. It was so magical and beautiful. It felt like an elegant mansion and everyone was dressed so nicely, and the atmosphere was the perfect mood for a high tea. As the hostess came back they informed us that they had availability and that someone cancelled their reservation! Luck hmm I think I have a high tea angel in heaven looking out. We decided on the high tea with champagne, and come on if you're here you might as well go big or go home am I right? The champagne was delicious an the sandwiches and handpicked desserts were amazing. Everything from the display of the food, champagne and tea it was a moment I will cherish and never forget. Not only were we treated first class as soon as we walked in, but the service was top notch. If you are ever in Ireland, you must stop at the Ivy for brunch. It made this wholesome California girl feel like Cinderalla for a moment in time and that's something money can't buy! read more
