A group of us went out while in Dublin on a Friday night at 6:30pm. Great service with a rotating cocktail list. I had the burger and side salad, and the side salad was great! The burger felt like a perfect portion for me, but it may be small for those with an appetite. I will say that a few of us didn't get what we ordered, but we're pleased with what we got, or were pleased with alternatives suggested by the waiter. It was pretty slammed for a Friday, but the waitstaff was attentive and we received things in good timing.

Wonderful fish and chips and a fantastic selection of beers. Very noisy at peak hours, though, and the service can be very inconsistent (went twice - first time was great, second time our waiter ghosted us).

Deceiving from the outside looks very small. It was also showing as closed on my google maps so we almost didn't come in until we saw another couple go inside and realized they were in fact open. We decided to sit on the patio. It was awesome! I got My new favorite drink a pink gin and tonic it was the best Gin and tonic I have ever had!! We placed an order of large wings and they were delish and huge! We were so surprised when our waitress gave us our check she told us she had put in a small order of wings!!! All in all it was an excellent experience and we will be back! Maybe even tonight for that sizzling steak which sizzled by our table catching our attention!

Went to the Harbour Master tonight for dinner. We were the only people in the restaurant part (I'm sure it's seen busier days) but that meant that we had the undivided attention of two very friendly waiters. They have a special on where you can have a starter, main course, dessert and two (yes, two) glasses of wine for €25. Deal. However, I just had a burger for €10. It was nice but I was a little jealous of the girls' fish and chips with mint pea puree. Yum. We also came back later for a drink. I like this pub, it's always got a little bit of banter and there were lots of people watching the football. They also have "summer madness" where pints, bottles of beer and some other drinks are €3 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday AND they do free nibbles. Nice. So, it's popular with the IFSC work crew. All around thumbs up from me.

25 minutes just to come and take our order. Arrived at 19h35, order taken at 19h58. The food looked ok. My rack of lamb strangely had no rack??? And was so tough! The portions were very small, so you need to order sides on top of paying €19 for your meat. There were only 5 mains on the menu. Very limited. Now a few weeks on, I thought to try this place again, and it was much better. Staff frendlier and food much better. Got offered drinks straight away. Food delivered within 30 minutes of ordering. Is this new management or did they just pull up their socks?

How gorgeous is the brick and dark wood interior of the IFSC's Harbourmaster Pub? The perect spot for post-CHQ shopping or pre-dinner drinks down at the far end of the city, it's easy to get cosy in the front alcoves or back tables in this large and airy bar. As most establishments are in this area, the bar is pricey if you're settling in for the night. However, a few shorts and spirits are a sensible spend when you're getting in the mood for a night out. Lunch here was less than thrilling, very standard pub fare that sounded fantastic on the menu but ended up eating a hole in my wallet rather than the other way around (er, that's me eating IT). The seafood chowder set me back €6.50 but was quite filling. I'll stick to happy hour bevvies and a seat by the window here.

The Harbourmaster seems to be the only pub in the IFSC with any longevity, maybe because of it's historical building or maybe because it's better located on the way into town, This bar and restaurant is housed in the old Dock Offices and they've kept many of the original features. They've also extended it with a modern structure that actually works quite well to house their restaurant. The bar is quite popular and obviously has a good Friday at 5 crowd with lots of suits, although I have to say I've never been totally sold on the atmosphere, but I don't know why. It's a good place for groups as they can reserve sections for you and there's even some space upstairs for that too. They can also do finger food for groups. The restaurant is ok, but it probably thinks it's better than it is. Often the menu is different to the usual fare you'd expect but not always executed brilliantly.

It's nice to find such a handsome piece of old architecture in the ultra-modern IFSC, and especially nice when said structure contains The Harbourmaster Bar. The Harbourmaster has what would be considered a nice interior, but not quite pub-ish enough for me personally, but still pleasant all the same. I've heard that the food is very nice (I can't vouch for it, personally), but what really draws me is the price of drink. Practically everything is €3 on Thursdays and Fridays (some things are excluded but you'd be sure to find something in the €3 deal to drink). Any other pub would probably be packed every Thursday and Friday if they were putting on such a great offer, but given that the Harboumaster is in the IFSC you do have to seek it out. It's well worth it if you do, though.

    Wings & chips special, €9.95 ( Guinness €5.20 ).

I haven't been here for a very long time. Even though I live close by. When ever I pass the doors are closed. Week days. Thankfully on Saturday they were open. I settled in to watch the rugby with a poison of wings. I remember and have been told the wings are tasty, spicy and delicious. They did not disappoint. The staff were very nice and provided tables service. I've forgotten how comfortable this place is to pass a few hours. The best bar in IFSC bar a long shot.

This is a great place to grab lunch or dinner if you are in the IFSC. The prices are a bit more than you would find from some cafes around, but this is a proper sit down sort of establishment with brilliant service. The decor is stunning as they preserved the original look at interior and wood so it really has a great feel to it. The food is good, as I said a bit steep but nothing you wouldn't find anywhere else in Dublin. They do usually get busy during lunch and dinner so if you are going here and if you want to make sure you get seated reservations are the best way to go.

It's next to a huge graveyard and was established in 1833 so the gravediggers could have a place to talk and drink their favorite beverage. The service was excellent as I had the potato soup which was delicious and cheap. My wife and daughter split the Irish rolls and they fell in love with them. It was a great experience and I would definitely highly recommend anyone in Dublin to visit this place. Tucked down Dame Court just off Dame Street, The Stag's Head is one of those rare pubs that feels genuinely historic rather than designed to look old. The building dates to the late 1800s, and the interior retains the ornate features of a classic Victorian "gin palace"--rich carved wood, stained glass, brass rails, and a warm, glowing bar that feels wonderfully preserved. We stopped in around 4:30 pm, which turned out to be a perfect time to visit. There were other patrons enjoying drinks and food, but the atmosphere was calm and relaxed rather than loud or rowdy. It felt like the kind of place where locals drop in for a quiet pint on their way home from work before the evening crowd arrives. The staff were excellent--friendly, welcoming, and attentive without being intrusive. The food was very good (we failed to take photos because we were too busy enjoying it). As a vegetarian, I was thrilled to see the Impossible burger front and center on their menu; it was deliciously prepared with guacamole on a brioche bun, and not an afterthought on the menu. My companions both chose the Irish Beef Burger, and said it was excellent. One thing to know: this is a traditional Victorian pub, so cocktails aren't really part of the program. Expect beer, wine, or spirits rather than mixed drinks. In a place like this, that actually feels exactly right. Other pubs do serve mixed drinks. Between the history, the ambience, the quality of the food, and the wonderful staff, The Stag's Head is the kind of place that makes you feel like you've experienced a real piece of Dublin.

This resulted in us being cooped for a day in a half in our Airbnb, since most of Dublin shut down. Businesses of all kinds were closed. The cabin fever had set in. My girlfriend and I were itching to explore the pub scene or any scene for that matter! We decided to layer up and go for a walk...in 32 degree weather and a foot of snow. Hey we're Floridians, we were up for some change! Lo and behold, we look up at the pub around the corner from our Airbnb, and the doors are open. We see Dubliners out front smoking cigarettes, joshing around, happy to be out in the world. We nearly sprinted into The Back Page, which is a fantastic name for a pub by the way. The atmosphere was warm and inviting. Customers were relaxed, the bartenders were chipper, and there was lots of wiggle room to sit or stand throughout the two story venue. Local beers and local whiskies filled the menu, and the prices were very reasonable. Attached to the bar is a pizza joint, I assume they are under the same ownership. We ordered the Sonia O'Sullivan pie and Bruschetta and both were excellent. Having Italy on the horizon in just a matter of days, we were not expecting 5 star pizza in Dublin. To our surprise, the texture and overall flavor of the pie were absolutely phenomenal. Full of life, cheerfulness, and exuberance at The Back Page. Recommend to anyone!
