This place is phenomenal. Full of do-gooders. Go-getters. Absolute champions of competency at their craft, and their craft is in high demand in the technological age. I've come into this business twice now, and both times I left feeling like I made the right decision going to these guys for help. A few months ago, I broke my 6 year old iPhone that I was too stubborn to replace. After they did a phenomenal job fixing it for me, I dropped it in the lake (my own fault) and it was clear it was time to just replace the device. I tried going to my phone carrier first (my phone carrier has 2 stores in bend. I have NEVER had a good experience at either of my own phone carrier's stores.) After wasting 2 hours in one of these said stores, I knew it was time to call in the big guns and just go to Mactek. Let me tell you I could have easily saved more than 2 hours of my life if i had just went to Mactek first. Colm greeted me the moment I walked in, I told him I need a new phone, gotta transfer some data from my old one that barely works, and he was more than helpful to all of my problems. He went so far above and beyond to make sure I was set up with my new phone, he even transferred my number/cellular data onto my new phone without me having to go back to my phone carrier store. I'm beyond impressed with this place and I'm about to tell everyone not just in central Oregon, but in the entire state of Oregon and beyond that this is the best Tec repair store in this time zone. I first sent an email, and a week went by without any response. After following up, I was asked for additional model information, which I immediately provided. A week later, I was told the replacement part was not available. I then found a replacement keyboard online and asked if it would work. The answer was yes, but only if a special tool was used, and they do not have this tool. Response received: "That would work, if I had the equipment to heat mold the keyboard in. Unfortunately, the keyboard is attached with melted plastic, not screws, so it requires special equipment. I would need the entire palmrest/upper case to do the repair." Communication was slow, and there was little expressed interest in completing the repair I need.. ASUS has also not been helpful. The result is that I have a 2-year-old laptop that is close to unusable because of a non-functioning "E".
