10/10! Loved this stop on our road trip. We wanted something filling but not heavy and greasy. We were satisfied! Everything was fresh and made to order. The falafel was a little spicy but good!! Service was incredibly friendly and the vibe inside is bright and inviting. I loved all the colorful decor and plants! I especially loved the way they covered the drop ceiling to make them colorful and funky - a cool touch! They also have a small back patio with a couple of tables to enjoy your meal outside. My husband ordered a made to order bowl and I had the chicken kabob bowl. Both DELICIOUS! We cleaned the bowls. Our daughter ate some rice from my bowl and smashed her hummus and pita. We loved all of the pickled veggies in our bowls! They had self serve screens for ordering or you could order at the counter. They had endless drink options and a handful of dessert options that looked great - especially the baklava cheesecake. The coconut water with pineapple and lime juice was yummy! Order from a screen, pay by card, wait for your name--efficient, but don't come expecting a sit-down experience. Parking is a bit of a question mark. Strip mall situation with some confusion around validation--worth paying attention to if you go. Probably not the best fit for small kids given the tight quarters, and I wouldn't book it for a date or business meal. But for a quick, healthy lunch on your own or with a friend? It works. Enthusiastically yes!!! A neat little family run place with validated parking and a menu that blends the Middle East flavors and country specialties, cooked to order. Everything was delicious, and the ambience is cool for a strip mall shop. The owner is super nice and the place mostly self-serve with water, napkin & utensil (sadly plastic) dispensers. They have a huge tea and iced tea selection my mango was delicious! It's mostly healthy and definitely attracted a younger audience. Go, enjoy! read more

This place was fantastic! We were in town visiting my sister and her family. Just came back from Rock City (also highly recommend) and we were trying to decide where to eat. TBH this style of food was not high on my priorities for Chattanooga but we decided yes after my sister said she loves this place. The food was so great, the service was fantastic as well - great people working hard to provide an excellent experience. The apricot & fig hummus was amazing, like nothing I've ever tasted before. The beef/lamb meat is perfection with a slight char and tender. The basmati rice is a delight with an aromatic profile that is both slightly sweet and warm nutty taste. I would recommend both. Had seen this place on social media as a Cava dupe and wanted to support local. Decor was cute, food was tasty, and spot is in a great location, but the lack of service and simple accommodations is enough to make me not come back. You order on a kiosk and have to note any requests at the bottom of the order (things like "dressing on the side" or "light feta") so there is no room for explanation or questions. Almost half of the toppings are an extra $0.79 upcharge when the basic bowl is already $16+. When we received our food, we were told we could go get utensils in the corner if we needed them. Of course we needed them. I don't mean to be nit-picky, but small adjustments to their service like a simple greeting or having silverware on the table/by the order kiosks could have made the experience a lot better. read more

Husband got the hummus bowl with veggies and basmati rice with the spicy vegan garlic sauce. The mint lemonade was also nice without being overly sweet. But be sure to save room for the tender and flaky pistachio baklava! When you enter, the menu is on the wall and it provides the steps to ordering. You then order on the touchscreen and customize as you go. Then have a seat and wait for them to bring your food! We just arrived in town for vacation and stopped in for a quick dinner. The place was slammed, but we still got order food pretty quickly. The food was fantastic. I had a bowl with jalapeño lime hummus, chicken AND beef, rice, fire sauce, and some veggies. The spices were easily the best I've ever had and I seek out Mediterranean food when I visit new places. We will be here for 6 days...I'll eat here a couple more times. I didn't partake in their desserts, but their baklava looked really good. The bowl with beef was just ok and the portion was very small. The best part was the spicy garlic sauce and the baba ghanoush was very good. Nothing that would merit a return visit , but I know that I'm spoiled with the amazing Mediterranean food we have in Atlanta. We have been here 4 times since they have opened and it's been excellent every time. Everything is easily customized with their touch screen ordering system and the food is out quick especially considering how fresh everything is. I thought the touch screen ordering might mean the dining experience would be impersonal, but not the case, as everyone working there is very warm and friendly. This is the only restaurant where my family members, which includes a 12 year old vegetarian and a nine year old carnivore are all equally excited to go. We all love the hibiscus and also the mint lemonade. My nine year old reminded me to make this review and had this contribution: "It was very good, because the chicken is so good, and the rice." Let it be noted that he is quite picky. It's a casual spot and every time I have eaten there with my kids, there have been other people with young kids, eating happily. I love this place. I thought it was so cute. The owner and I were outside and he was showing me all his herbs and he's trying to make the patio really cute and nice for people and I see people complain about the portion sizes a lot but I think you have to take in mind that it's really slow. The food is still really good And I honestly just asked for a little bit more chicken and they gave it to me instantly without a problem or making it a big deal the owners are really amazing. I'm new to Chattanooga, was born and raised in NYC. I don't think I'm picky when it comes to food, but my boyfriend thinks I'm a bit of a food snob. I think I just know good food, and I'm sorry (not sorry) Chattanooga's dining scene has been lacking. With that said.. I easily give The Hummus Bowl 5 stars, and am already thinking about what to try on my next visit. The food is fantastic. THIS is what I'm looking for when I'm hungry! A mom and pop type of restaurant with unique menu items that actually taste good! This is what other restaurants should aspire their menu to be like! The fig and apricot hummus was amazing, even my boyfriend who isn't much into hummus really enjoyed it. The stuffed grape leaves were great, much better than I've had in a long time. The ambiance is that of a grab and go vibe, though we ate in and enjoyed the quiet setting. This is without question one of the best restaurants in Chattanooga. Great spot for delicious, allergy-conscious Mediterranean food! I ate a falafel bowl and felt great afterwards--I have celiac disease, so eating at new places can be risky, but this was a win. The bowls can come with either pita bread or celery and carrots. I must have missed the area where you choose this one the touchscreen menu, but I mentioned my allergy to the man working there and he made sure my food came out totally gluten free. The mango lemonade was really good too, good flavor and not too sweet. Also, my falafel bowl was served in a compostable container (nice!). Eating utensils are self-served at the counter, which I appreciated since I brought my own reusable spork and didn't need a disposable one. read more
