We stopped for some healthy food passing through dalton. Everything we ordered was excellent. I got the Mediterranean wrap and my husband got the hummus combo plate with tabouli. It was a very enjoyable meal. The lamb was cooked perfectly and seasoned nicely. The grilled veggies were a great pairing. Hot, fresh and hit the spot. Ordering was a bit challenging due to the number of very appealing selections, I guess I was hungrier than I thought. Ordered and filled my drink then found my seat. I was surprised by the server head to my table with food. She placed the hummus on the table indicating it was for while I waited. It was very tasty and the pita was warm and soft. My beef shawarma had plenty of meat and had decent flavor but was on the dry side and they are stingy with sauce, which is served in a small sealed cup instead of in the dish. It sat on a bed of rice which was soft and a generous portion. The roasted vegetables were shriveled and a tiny serving--more of a garnish than food. The side of salad was okay but not very flavorful. I also got a side of falafel and it was crisp and fresh, and with yogurt sauce was okay. read more

I have to admit that I wasn't expecting to find a Turkish restaurant in the northern tip of the Peach State, but I was pleasantly surprised! After several days of subpar food selection I decided to splurge on delicious food. Needless to say, I picked the right joint! This is a small family run establishment with a small seating area but an excellent menu consisting of healthy yet flavorful Mediterranean fare. The owner is awesome and very welcoming, which set the tone at a positive level as soon as I walked in. I ordered the mahi mahi (grilled) sandwich and a bowl of lentil soup. Unfortunately, the Turkish tea was no longer available as it is discarded after a certain time; however, the owner was apologetic and gave me a complementary beverage - what a guy! The sandwich came with a side of yellow rice and was hearty, juicy, and packed onto a bun with a tomato, lettuce, and a savory dressing! Amazing would not adequately describe how delectable this was after not eating much for the past few days. The lentil soup was savory and rich with flavor! This was updated after receiving response from the manager. Please make sure you see attached photos for a screenshot of manager response to my review below. It went from 3 stars to 1 after that. This was a very tough review to make. We were just passing by Dalton around lunch time and decided to grab a bite. Since Mediterranean is one of my favorite cuisines and this place had a 4.5 star, it was a no brainer. I'm not sure if this is the only Mediterranean place in town but when I got my food I couldn't understand how they had 4.5 stars, but then I noticed they have only 19 reviews and it made sense. Anyway, initially I was going to give this place 3 stars, because at the end of the day the food was ok. Not very flavorful but not bad. Then I felt something weird in my mouth and when I spited it out it was a vegetable lil label. Yes in the middle of my babaganoush. That was pretty disappointing, so o went inside gave her the label and told the girl at the register what happened. Sh very uncomfortably said "ah, ok, sorry. That was it. I went back to my table and a few minutes later the manager came. I was happily surprised, thinking he would make it better and then he said " At least it was something eatable". I couldn't believe what I just heard and I said. Really? Do you eat paper? I was so upset. He regretted immediately and then said. I'm sorry can I buy you dinner. And I was like "yes, that is a good idea", so he refunded us. I'm still giving them 3 stars because at the end of the day they refunded us and are probably going to learn from this experience. But the beef shwarma wrap was like eating a brick of tough cabbage, that was the only taste you get in your mouth, and the Greek salad had very poor, low quality lettuce and the dressing was gross, certainly didn't have the freshness and flavors you would expect and certainly not worth the prices they are charging for these items, if they played into their mediocrity and charged more like 10$ for wraps and 16$ for kebab plates there would be a better price to quality ratio. read more

Don't order through door dash from these folks. If they're out of an item, they simply refund it and don't bother calling to ask you to reselect. While my wife is eating her food I'll be eating a peanut butter sandwich. Called them to try and add a different item and they hung up on us. Won't be ordering again or visiting in person. Edit: they blamed DoorDash for not letting us know saying they didn't have our contact. DoorDash driver shows me our contact information and stated they don't let him know they were short an item. Also, shout out to our DoorDash driver, he offered to go get me something from somewhere else! Edit number 2: now blocked on FB Messenger because they don't appreciate our opinion. Apparently, he thinks we're trying to wreck his business despite the response below in another review where he doesn't care of the poster is wrecking his business. Edit 3 in response to owner 1. Stop deflecting responsibility Your employee hung up on us no apology no nothing 2. The DoorDash driver had no clue he was short an item. 3. Learn to be contrite as you run your business. It goes a long way with your customers. Defensiveness does not. 4. There are many, many ways for your customers to express themselves, blocking on Facebook is not effective. Disclosure & preface: This was my first time tasting shawarma of any kind or flavor ever, so I have nothing to compare it to; but what I DO know is that it tasted amazing to me. Due to C19 residual olfactory dysfunction from 2021, most food remains merely sustenance with no enjoyment. The husband and I don't get out much (we're homebodies); but we were introduced to their food at CAG's Preview Party of the Arts Festival this weekend and fell in love. So much so, that we decided to drive the 30 minutes into town and have lunch there the next day. It was the highlight of our Saturday despite our subsequent spending spree at a local store and another stroll through to the CAG Festival. The food tasted fresh & amazing (seems an inadequate adjective). Not just the main dish - but ALL of it. We were also greeted by the owner who checked in on our visit while we were eating. My husband and I remained on a food high for hours after and enjoyed our leftovers at home later that day. The service, for a cafe style environment was nice and attentive. My only wish? That it was a sit-down restaurant with servers, instead of cafe style. Thank you for a wonderful meal and I look forward to cheating on my carnivore lifestyle there probably too frequently. I got fries as a side and they were nice, fresh, hot and crispy! But the rice side was not anything outstanding. Will definitely be going back and looking forward to trying more of there menu. I swore I reviewed this place when we went here Nov 27th on our drive from TN to SC. I only just realized I must not have posted my review bc I can't find it. Some how I recalled the town and found Cafe Ostro again! Thank GOD! Anyway, this restaurant and the staff here are awesome! There were 4 of us and all 4 of us loved our dishes. We all got something different so I would say you can't go wrong ordering anything here (but not 100% sure). The gal that took our order and served us was just a sweetheart and let us sample some of their foods which prompted us to order some of those samples. I would hands down recommend this place if you're driving through the area (or live there!). I actually think their falafels are the best I've ever had! read more

I tried Greek food for the first time! The servers were very polite and helpful in helping me find the most popular items to try for my liking. I usually don't eat hummus, but theirs was pretty tasty with the right spices and bread. The lentil soup was my favorite, YUM. My next fav was the chicken shawarma...so good. Bigger than I expected. The baklava for dessert was tasty also, if you're a fan of pistachios. My least favorite was the falafel, not sure why it didn't suit my tastebuds but the creamy sauce it came with made them worthwhile.
