Make any mistake you could ever think of, none would be as horrible and dreadful as NOT coming here! Cute little place in downtown with little expectations clearly met the optimum expectations that could be set on a Michelin star restaurant! To begin, service was wonderful. We were greeted by a friendly staff and as soon as we sat down we had food in our faces. Usually prices might be scary as you have no idea what you'll receive but WOW complete double take on this one. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap, simple "little" meal. The wrap was far from small and one bite would be enough to take a crew of astronauts to the end of the universe and back! The flavors were like a festival of colors, grilled chicken seasoned in a way all chicken should be seasoned; complemented by crisp red onions, soft red cabbage and a delicious sauce. I would have eaten twenty of those wraps if I hadn't known any other food. (Gotta save some room for some frozen yogurt!) The wrap had a side of curly fries, charming and fresh and ketchup in a small container alongside. The meal was so good that I thought "why not get some dessert? In the window I saw desserts that I'd never thought existed. Pistachio Baklava was the name in the window and opening the container was like opening a treasure chest on a stranded island. The dessert looked like it was crafted by some kind of master chef, it had layers upon layers to create a small dessert sandwich. It was sweet and nutty and felt like it almost had a bit of syrup to it. If I had no other place to be, I would have been stuffing my face all day and night! read more

Found this little gem in North GA. I grew up eating legit Greek food and I can't believe I found it in Dalton! The owner, AK, was extremely friendly. The food was all perfect, two chicken swarma, one beef, one lamb plate, one hummus app and one falafel. Only problem was we didn't order enough falafel. Everything else was spectacular. I love my birthday celebrations because with age they are becoming more special and more personal. One of my friends offered to take me to the special cafe in Dalton. It took us over 40 min to get there from Chattanooga. But I am glad we did. This restaurant is so amazing. It has a great location . It is very clean and menu is so simple but the same time it reflects Mediterranean style. The owner is very friendly and spent his time talking to all visitors who were in restaurant. And we even had chance to try blakava. It was good-home made and fresh. For my taste it was the best I tried in Tennessee. The shawarma was so great too. I will recommend to all my friends to visit this place. It is kind of far but the food is great. But Dalton has many historic places to see. I will visit this place again and again. OK, I've been back 2-3 times and it is much better. The cashier and manager were extremely nice, the food was flavorful and hot. He brought us a sample of the eggplant dip. Tasty! I hope they make it....very small crowds in there, typically. I encourage everyone to give them a try. We need these type of diverse restaurants in Dalton. I again had the Beef Shawarma. Cafe Ostro is an excellent new fast casual bistro in downtown Dalton. I went there recently with my husband and had the salad with grilled chicken which is tossed in a lovely, light citrus vinaigrette. It was nice to find a healthy yet delicious option. It was so good that we brought my mom back for dinner the same day. I had the chicken shawarma wrap and tabouleh that time which was also fresh and light. Their house made hummus is also ridiculously good. Cafe Ostro is a small, family run business which ensures good quality and service. The decor is updated and cute which makes for a good experience. There are also cute tables out on the sidewalk so you can drink in the small town scenes. read more

My husband ordered the mahi-mahi plate. It had turmeric rice, vegetable skewer and a green salad. The mahi-mahi tasted boiled with no seasoning, the rice wasn't cooked at all... still very crunchy, the vegetables were undercooked, the salad had no dressing. The only thing that was slightly appetizing was the overly mayo'd coleslaw. I had a falafel "sandwich" with tabbouleh salad. The falafel wrap was lacking on flavor. The ingredients weren't spread evenly inside upon making the wrap. The tabbouleh on the other hand tasted like they upended a container of Morton's salt and rolled with it anyway. read more

My wife and I had the absolute privilege to be AK's first catered wedding and he completely blew us away. He was attentive and professional and made everything exactly the way we wanted it and did it at an unbeatable price. He even made custom plates for my bride and me! I would put a zero star if I could. I ordered a meal to eat-in and a sandwich to go. They brought us our meal but they never brought us the to go order. I called the business, spoke to the manager who told me it was my fault that I didn't pick it up (it was in the same ticket as the rest of the meal they brought to our table and there's no to-go counter or window) and said he wouldn't credit the sandwich. My son ordered steak and cheese only and they put sauce on it anyway. Service was worse than the food. Literally tossed It on the table and walked off. Like I said maybe was not their best day. I love Cafe Ostro, it is the restaurant that i recommend when someone asks for a local recommendation. The chicken schwarma is amazing, wether you get the wrap or bowl. The mushroom burger is also a favorite of mine, I highly recommend it if you love mushrooms as much as i do. I've also tried the baklava and the tiramisu. The baklava was a bit sweet for my liking but the tiramisu is to die for. If you like vegetables and trying new foods then this place is definitely for you. read more

I wish I could negative stars. The Mediterranean salad ($11) was a very little bit of wilted lettuce, a pinch of feta, about 5 olives. They through in half a tomato and a tablespoon of cucumber too. The HOUSE DRESSING WAS HORRIBLE! It tasted like cheap Italian with mustard in it. The falafel was so dry I couldn't eat it - it didn't have any flavor anyway. Very disappointing! read more
