This review is for the lunch menu. They have a $10 menu, and if you have a state worker badge, you get a discount. It is absolutely delicious food with the right sized portions (not too big, not too small). The first time I tried an item, I did not like the dressing that came with the meal but I've since had two more meals here and they are delicious. This is definitely going to be a spot on my lunch list. Recommend giving it a try! ~~~ Update January 2020: they've eliminated the $10 lunch menu. I don't see any reason to go back now because their lunch menu prices are high. So much to choose from around here. The $10 meal was a steal. The bartender didn't say if they were getting a new menu, she just informed everyone coming in that the $10 menu is going away. Lots of people walked in and out. Sad!! read more

Update May 18, 2022 of any comments one thousand one hundred forty nine! It used be call The Hotel Bar! My previous has twenty four votes and has twenty eight votes! Last review he gave ONE STAR a person from my "Neighbor Town" San Francisco of November 19, 2020! It had macaroni and cheese, eleven dollar before tax! Thinking by name, probably not Pediatric size menu but Adult menu! Orange juice at $3.22 with tax, not bad for hotel restaurant! Writing this update let people know is permanently closed down! It will be reopened sometime June 2022 under name Juju Restaurant! Okay as say, seeing by name THE HOTEL BAR, probably was not any child menu, probably was not any Pediatric menu! Wow, eleven dollar before tax just for macaroni and cheese! The orange juice was reasonable price, especially for hotel restaurant! Avoid the male and female bartender duo on Saturday night. This is part of a Marriott, and even as a Platinum member they treat you awful. I would just love hi, hello, a grin, smile, really any expression from the man bun bartender with the driver cap. Must be a bad 2 days for him. The younger brunette girl must be trained by him, she is equally unfriendly. I recommend going next door for any food or drink needs. I like this place a lot because it's usually pretty empty and it's a good spot to meet up with friends. It's also in a good location. Of note, it's probably not somewhere you can plan on spending an entire night. I would recommend popping in for a quick drink. Even on relatively slow nights, the service is quite slow. The food is OKAY. I have tried the fish tacos, cauliflower bites, and fries. The sauce that comes with the cauliflower is good, but everything else is average. It gets 4 stars because of the location and the TVs! Seriously, this is a good little spot to watch sports games with friends. read more

Bar/waitress was pleasant. Took our order rite away with a smile. The four of us order drinks and our food. I sent me tea back because it tasted old, and ordered a Coke. They brought three plates of food. The kitchen staff asked if there's something missing, I said yes...my dinner. Before the kitchen staff asked me, the waitress looked towards me serial times w/o coming and talking to us. She then came and said that my order didn't print in the kitchen. I don't think that's very likely but ok. My party was done eating well before my food made it outa the kitchen. She said it was on its way. I canceled my order and asked for something to be done to make it rite. She wasn't gonna charge me for the missing meal...that's ok. She ended up not charging for ALL three meals. My husband and I stopped in here on Sunday and I was impressed with how the setup is with the velvet couches and the projection screens with the music videos playing. It wasn't busy at all which was nice for a weekend midday. I ordered a salad which came out fast and I loved my drink, my husband got a beer. What a joke....The menu is tired and it is tiered fro senior citizens....Every time I come in I always ask the bartender how are things and they say cutting payroll like always as the GM is not a nice leader.....I can't blame the manager of the bar as he works very hard it is upper management......The quality of food is fair at best and needs improvement....the bar has potential however obvious that leadership in the hotel is the issue.Please address as not fair to the staff. read more

I came here for an event, so my experience might by a bit different than if I had just come in on my own. I ordered a house margarita and it came in the smallest glass possible! One big slurp and it was gone! It was tasty though. There were appetizers put out for the event and they were gone in a minute. The service was a bit slow to keep everything stocked. All the foods were tasty. Some artichoke goat cheese balls, salami, cheese and crackers. I like the atmosphere and I really like the outside seating area for a warm summer evening. Stopped in for a drink here last night before a night out. This place has potential but unfortunately the service was lousy at best and the drinks just barely tolerable. We walk in at ~8 pm, sit at the bar and just wait. About 10 mins before we are acknowledged by any of the many employees on staff. Our orders are finally taken, we wanted to try the mid-town mules and were informed they were already out of copper mugs. I'm not unreasonable, I understand things happen... however , it's 8 pm and about six people at the bar. Do you only have 4 mugs?, because at least 2 people were drinking out of glasses.The bartender randomly disappears again for a while. She resurfaced about 15 mins later and luckily just in time for another cocktail. I wanted this spicy cocktail they had on the menu but they out of the habanero syrup... ok, already slightly annoyed. Next choice was Pimm's cup. She then tells us they are also out of cucumbers, now I'm really annoyed. I'm pretty sure it was written on my face because she offered to see if the kitchen had them but "no promises." Ok, really? It's freaking 8 pm! How are out of shit already? And why wasn't the bar restocked before opening? Very disappointing... Overall, the place is cute, nice dim lighting, interesting set up. Cocktails need improvement and the service is awful . Bartenders need to work and put a little bit of a smile on their faces. Sort of felt like we were a burden rather that paying customers. Needs major improvement, will not be returning. read more

Went before a show Saturday evening, looking for some decent appetizers with some wine. The bartender was wonderful, personable, prompt and professional. We ordered Hot Wings and Fish and Chips, expecting to share between three of us. LOL, the fish was hardly visible among the tiny, mushy fries. Two pieces... reminiscent of the old fish sticks, but not as wide...for $12...the bartender laughed and said, "Please, post a review! We get complaints all the time, but management still thinks we should keep the fish as it is." We all laughed, again. So, don't order those ... As for the wings, they were still greasy. This is actually my first Yelp review. What compelled me to write one was seeing such bad reviews for this place. I came here on a Thursday evening, looking for some post-work drinks and food. They have a great selection of local beers (some of which I've never heard of). A little bit on the pricey end, but I appreciate when bars have obscure beers on tap (the one I had wasn't even on my beer app, Untappd). To eat, I ordered fantastic short rib tacos. Stepped in to watch the NBA finals with two buddies. I will usually catch sports games here from time to time to avoid the egotistic meat heads that crowd the surrounding restaurant bars. The Hotel Bar is a low key bar, that offers beer, wine and cocktails. They have a fully staffed kitchen that dishes out high quality restaurant food. They do have a huge projector screen for easy viewing anywhere inside. The screen is not the clearest quality, but hey it beats standing the entire game at Firestone. The Hotel bar is not going to offer the die hard sports environment, if that's what your're after. read more

Painfully slow to almost non existent service. This is far below the standards of the Marriott chain. After a very long wait I ordered the grilled shrimp small plate. After about 40 minutes the server brought a steel grilling plate with, I kid you not, 4 very small shrimp on it. Poor service, poor food. Would never come back. I had a free afternoon on a recent trip to Sacramento, so I decided to stick close to my hotel and enjoy some sunshine. I ordered a flatbread and a beer and it was delicious. The server was very busy (I think they were short-staffed) but he was still attentive to me, as much as I needed. I enjoyed my time spent in the sunshine reading, so I didn't need someone being in my face. The flatbread pizza was flavorful, the goat cheese was just the right touch. And the beer was refreshing. So I picked her up, parked and was actually walking to another establishment, ...but was like hey let's just go in here, nice looking low key spot..... The groupon for this place essentially acts as a gift card/voucher. I purchase it with money and get credit to the hotel bar. So why cant I use my gift card along with the 20% state employee discount? I was told its "house policy." But the groupon does not state ANYWHERE that the groupon/voucher isn't valid with any other discounts. If you're gonna deny me my state employee discount because I have a gift voucher, at least say that on the voucher! The server was nice, but dont just deny me a discount and say its house policy. I have been here twice now and both times service was lacking. This most recently time in the course of 2 hours with a group of friends they supposedly ran out of 5 different alcohols that were required for the drinks we ordered so none of us actually got the drinks we ordered but some sort of alternative option. And the drinks seemed pricey. No one came by to see if we wanted to order food. The large outdoor patio is a nice spot to sit, but I won't be going back. read more

Went for lunch with a colleague during the week. It wasn't crowded at all at 12pm, only a few customers, but when we walked in no one greeted us. We wandered around and found ourselves a table. A male server/bartender (?) finally appeared and seemed very stressed and rushed. Not the best customer service. I asked for an Arnold Palmer but he said they were out of lemonade. The sandwich & salad combo I had was average but it came out quickly. A female served our food and also brought our check quickly when we asked her for it. We tried to pay with Apple Pay but the male server said they didn't have that service available. Lounge environment in the front, industrial tables in the next room. Big patio with cushioned seating outdoors. The '90's music videos projected on the wall seemed off brand and distracted from what could be a more sophisticated vibe. Great place to watch the game, but don't come here being in a rush. The service was lousy and there is no sense of urgency. This place is my secret escape. I really enjoy coming here. Especially to watch sports, hockey in particular. They have a couple beers on tap usually a few local suds, but overall a nice variety. Bartenders and staff are professional and quick to tend to your every need. I often bring my pup with me and lose track of the time while I soak up the rays on the patio. Prices are a little on the high side but it's a hotel so it's almost expected. I don't mind paying a buck or two over the average for elbow room and a quality product. Stop in for a pint.
