The décor is cute, the staff was friendly, and the flavors were excellent. I tried the Moravian sugar cake for the first time, unique and absolutely delicious, and I loved it so much I ended up buying a whole Moravian sugar cake for Christmas dinner. The peppermint stick seasonal flavor was also surprisingly yummy and perfect for the holidays. One helpful note: the restroom is located across the street in Hotel Bethlehem on the second floor, and they even provide fresh hand towels. It's kind of like a coffee cake, but it has a very special ingredient. I think if you had some tiny pieces with a cup of tea, it's a very wonderful treat. A fairly large, 7 table, old-timey ice cream parlor supplied by Penn State Creamery, this place is a staple. Tonight, I chose Monkey Business. Banana ice cream flaked with peanut butter & chocolate chips. All the flavors were there and it was good! So many other flavors to choose from with witty names like the Alumni Swirl (vanilla with blueberry swirl and mocha chips) and the Peachy Paterno (after their fame coach, Joe Paterno). The ice cream was exceptionally creamy and delicious and it took maybe 10-15 mins to eat because it was so solid, which was awesome. However, for the price they don't give very large servings which was a bit of a disappointment and also they didn't have any waffle cones, which seems pretty standard these days. However, the Penn State vibe inside the ice cream parlor was pretty cool, and there was a ton of seating available both indoor and outdoor. All of the ice cream flavors were unique and delicious, especially alumni ice cream which is a creamy fruity flavour with chocolate chips. i have been to Hotel B ice cream many many times so am very familiar with the sizes and offerings. Todays visit was so disappointing and I didnt know it till we got home. It was my birthday and after a great meal in town we stopped by to take some ice cream home for a treat later in the evening. We got 2 large dishes of ice cream and had the server put lids on for us and then put in a bag ( so we didnt see them before we left). Later that night we took them out of the freeze and was shocked at how little ice cream was in the cup. The cup contained one small scoop , we could see the bottom of the cup all around the scoop. It was just so disappointing, We paid $18 for a small scoop in each cup. The ice cream is good but $18 for this size is not worth it. ( we were the only customers in the shop) 2 stars is generous...unlike their portions. read more

As a PSU alumni I am thrilled to see the famous and historical Creamery ice cream offered at such an amazing establishment. There's nothing better then historical ice cream from a Historical hotel! When I was getting a single scoop waffle cone the wonderful staff also informed me I could get a SCOOP of "cream" as I call it for my lovely pup! I don't know who enjoyed the ice cream more me or my PUP! But as great as the ice cream was it still did not beat the service of the wonderful staff. I can not wait to go again! The staff is so what friendly. It took about 15 minutes for me to get a waffle with ice cream. My boyfriend already finished his ice cream bc she didn't wait for them to come out at the same time. Then a family walks in to take pictures with a photographer they start snapping photos and they are being very loud and obnoxious and the employee helped them and gave them pointers instead of asking them to leave because they are being disruptive. Let me start out with the positive. The Ice Cream we were able to taste was awesome. I had the Vanilla with the maraschino cherry and my Mom had the Coffee Ice Cream. Now onto the bad. My elderly parents ages 84 and 89 were visiting from out of state after getting their Covid 19 shot. My Mom has had two strokes and my Dad is beginning stages Alzheimer's. This is the first time they have been to visit Bethlehem. We had a great dinner at a restaurant in town and decided to walk to the creamery for desert. When we arrived in the creamery there was no one in there but two young people serving. We ordered our Ice Cream and walked back to a corner to eat it. There were no tables in there to sit. I understand Covid and the aspect of social distancing but looking around they have room for a couple tables that could be spaced 6 feet or more apart. . The young man who served us proceeded to tell us that we had to leave and eat outside. I understand he was doing what his boss told him and hold nothing against him. But we were the only ones in there. What they did was to kick two elderly people outside in 30 degree weather to eat Ice Cream. We had to dump the Ice Cream in a trash because my Mom could not stand out in the cold eating Ice Cream. They need to rethink their policies. Will not be supporting them again and this is always a stop when we have dinner in this beautiful city which about once every 2 or 3 months. Lastly they were not making any of the Moravian Sugar Cake as the server told us because they are not busy enough. Well why are you not busy enough is because you are turning people away by making them eat Ice Cream outside in the middle of winter. read more

More than often, my experience with the Hotel B Ice Cream Parlor is a good one. Their ice cream is top notch and they give a good portion for the price. However, tonight I ran into a frustrating situation with the establishment. They have advertised on their website and on their front door that the shop is open until 10:00 pm on Fridays and Saturdays but as my friends and I arrived tonight at precisely 9:33pm the store had been closed half an hour earlier than advertised. It would be different had we arrived 5 minutes until closing, then I would understand being turned away. However, nobody from the shop was even in the shop leading me to believe they closed some time before 9:30. In my opinion this is not how you run a business. Hope to see better from this establishment in the future as their product is excellent. read more
