My Favorite Sweet Shoppe is a local business that sells many candies, chocolates, fudges, gourmet…read morecaramel apples, custom treats, and much more. I shopped here one time. An employee was busy serving another customer but soon after served me. She made friendly conversation. Here are my reviews for what I bought: S'more - 5 stars - I liked the chocolate, marshmallows, and graham cracker of this s'more. Raspberry chocolates - 5 stars - I liked the strong flavor of raspberries in the center of the milk chocolate. Strawberry chocolates - 4 stars - I liked the milk chocolate but thought that the strawberry could taste differently. Chocolate-covered cherries - 5 stars - These cherries and milk chocolate met my expectations and tasted very good. Gummy flower bouquet - 4.5 stars - This flower bouquet was constructed from many pieces of gummies, and I thought that it looked so pretty. The gummies were slightly hard and chewy but tasted good. Mountain Magic - 5 stars - Chunks contained marshmallows, rice, and peanut butter. I definitely taste the peanut butter and really enjoyed it. Peppermint-chocolate marshmallow - 4 stars - A large marshmallow was covered in milk chocolate and covered in peppermint pieces. One without peppermint would have fit my personal preferences better. Hot-cocoa spoon - 4.5 stars - A plastic spoon contained chocolate, marshmallows, and sparkles. I put it in hot milk to melt it. The hot chocolate tasted good. Sugarfina Sparkling Rose Bears - 5 stars - Gummy bears had a slight flavor of rose wine. Chocolate-covered pretzels - 5 stars - Chocolate-covered pretzels are one of my favorites. One pretzel was covered in milk chocolate, and the other pretzel was covered in white chocolate. Buckeyes - 3.5 stars - These buckeyes had tasty milk chocolate but needed a stronger flavor of peanut butter. The employee could not give me either a printed or emailed receipt. My husband paid and said that the total cost was ~$60.

The woman working that day was very friendly, not overbearing, and willing to provide suggestions and recommendations where needed. They offer free samples of their mountain crunch (?) that was light, crunchy, and peanut butter-y. She said it's one of their top sellers and I can understand why. I got an assortment of chocolates from the bulk case ($32/lb) and a few Easter items. I ended up totaling somewhere around $30. The chocolate was fresh and each piece that I had the pleasure of sampling was delicious. If I need a gift or just a mid-day pick me up, I wouldn't hesitate to stop in here.

The menu offers a delicious mix of savory and sweet options. There are plenty of French toast choices, creative crêpes, paninis, and a few classic breakfast favorites. They also have an excellent selection of loose-leaf teas. My brother ordered an Americano coffee - it was so good he had two cups (additional fee). The service was top notch. Also the wait staff shares all tips. Although this was my first visit - the restaurant is celebrating its 10th anniversary. They also have a second location in Bloomfield.

They gave a lot of options, but the crepes are definitely what they are know for. The Sunny Side was a great sweet and savory crepe, with fruit, crispy bacon, eggs and cheese with the crepe, definitely would recommend and make sure to ask for hot sauce as they make their own. Only problem was that some other plates with salads had spotty and not so fresh greens. Overall, nice place for a quick crepe and would recommend for their fun crepes!

Other beverages such as juices and coffees are also available. In addition, customers may make a reservation for afternoon tea, which for adults includes a choice of a pot of tea as well as a three-tier stand of finger sandwiches, scones, and pastries. The foods and price vary for children aged 12 and under. The bistro's menu lists foods such as quiche, avocado toast, fruit bowls, oatmeal, yogurt, pastries, flatbreads, wraps, paninis, salads, quesadillas, smoothies, and milkshakes. A freezer contains about a dozen flavors of gelatos. Furthermore, shelves feature merchandise such as bags of teas, teapots, mugs, t-shirts, earrings, etcetera. My husband and I ate one breakfast here. An employee immediately and kindly greeted us. We placed our order at the cash register and then sat at a table of our choosing. Some tables were already reserved for the afternoon tea. I ate Baked French Toast (5 stars), which consisted of a brioche with custard, cinnamon, sugar, strawberry sauce, peaches, blueberries, raspberries, and banana slices. I drank a Masala Chai Tea (4.5 stars). My husband ate the Loaded Breakfast Panini Wrap (3.5 stars), which contained scrambled eggs, potatoes, cheeses, avocado, sour cream, and salsa. The ingredients were separate, which he said looked pretty but tasted just OK. He used his utensil to try to mix the ingredients. He ate only half of it. He drank a Gelato Iced Chocolate (4.5 stars), a chilled hot chocolate with vanilla gelato and whipping cream on top. I also purchased a Dubai chocolate bar (4.5 stars) for about $20. It was not my all-time favorite Dubai chocolate, but it was a large size, and it tasted very good for being made in Pittsburgh. Note that private events such as birthday parties, baby showers, bridal showers, and bachelorette parties may also be held at The Steeping Leaf. Catering is also available.
