While service was very friendly, the Soft serve was subpar. Maybe other items are better.

I've always had good service and the ice cream is good, especially the soft serve, my favorite.

We made it inside and waited patiently for our turn to order. Before you knew it, we realized that we were in line for 50 minutes just to get to get two scoops of ice cream. There were six associates behind the counter. Only two were working. The others was goofing off. I wanted to leave, but I also wanted to try this ice cream because I've heard such great things about it I got the rum raisin ice cream because you can't find that particular flavor everywhere. The ice cream itself was a 10 out of 10 for flavor and texture. But my overall experience with The Udder Bar was a 3 for customer service. It shouldn't take almost and hour to get ice cream with 6 people behind the counter. Most likely I will not be returning.

Also the coffee was so smooth and creamy. Per usual, the husband got the gluten containing cookie dough and loved it. If we lived locally, we'd be here DAILY. Also appreciated the kind staff allowing us to trying probably too many flavors and the cute ambiance.

After chowing down at Morty's Steaks (see review), I walked down Main Street, Emmaus, and crossed…read moreover to check out Hank's Italian Ice. Apparently, he took over the space formerly occupied by a Rita's Water Ice shop, and he has nicely transformed it into a pleasant step down basement joint that is similar to the previous occupant, but also different. It offers two forms of water ice - tradition brain freeze fruit flavored hardened slush, and Cream Ice, a hybridization of regular ice cream and hard water that is softer/creamier than water ice, but not as richly textured as Ben & Jerry's or Hagen Daz. I ordered a two-scooper of Blueberry Cheesecake and Cannoli ($5). They were both pretty good, with the Blueberry getting the nod for flavor and mouth appeal with chunks of graham cracker crust mixed in. The Cannoli was close in taste to that ricotta vanilla flavor, with tiny chocolate chips infused within. It was less pleasing than the other, but still decent. Hank is an amiable fellow, allowing me to sample any flavor I wished on finger sized wood spoons. He filled me in on the short history of his business, and gently corrected my pronunciation of Emmaus (E-May-Us). Cool dude! The Five Chilled Stars are as much for his helping keep his community Main Street vital and alive, as for his creative turn on classic Italian Water Ice.

The Trapp Door Gastropub - This was the perfect dessert to finish a delicious meal. It is flourless chocolate cake. We ate off the restaurant week specials.

I saw the reviews for The Trapp Door on Yelp and we just had to stop. Having said that - had we not known we had a destination we would have completely driven past. On the outside it's a completely unassuming place that you would think only draws a local crowd as the town bar. Let me tell you.....first appearances are completely deceiving. The Trapp Door is just a magical secret. Ok so maybe it's not a secret to many but I will tell you why it's worth driving to. Philly people - you must come here! NJ people - you too! If you look up the definition of Gastropub - this is it. I've traveled all over the world and tried many who claim to be Gastropubs - this place is the true definition. The service is as friendly as you can get. They make you feel comfortable and as if you were a local and as if you have known them forever. We were 3 guests and as appetizers we had the bone marrow and the duck confit, then had the smoked trout and the Spanish chorizo. The duck, bone marrow and home made smoked trout ( and I'm not necessarily a fish fan) were absolutely amazing. Already dreaming about. Seriously -to write home about. The chorizo was good but average. Then we split a burger - medium rare - and let me tell you - if you are craving a burger - you will fall in love! Cooked exactly as we had requested. They also had homemade condiments. Phenomenal. One of us decided we should order desserts and many times after having such a great meal - I'm apprehensive of ruining it by ordering dessert since sometimes it's not a speciality and leaves you a bit disappointed. Yeah, no. You will just be even more in love. We had the pumpkin crème brûle ( Im over all the pumpkin and was apprehensive however it was spectacular and the pumpkin was true pumpkin - not forced). We also had the ginger apple cobbler - wow! Ginger is just right. The dough was perfectly light and fluffy and crispy. A hard trifecta to master. The beverages and beers do not disappoint and need little introduction. This places deserves a visit. Make your way there even if a bit out of the way. It's worth every single extra mile. You won't be disappointed. We will be back. Thank you to Abby (try the drink named after her. She's just as nice), Taylor, Sue and the chef - Nate Thatcher. Wow!!!! I may have set the bar too high ( no I haven't) so let me lower it - so I'll close with. Yeah go try it. It's ok. He he he he.
