Very disappointing. There was one customer ahead of me and about 5 people behind the counter talking and nobody came to take my order until another person behind the counter motioned that there were customers. The girl who waited on me put the smallest amount of soft serve in a dish and when she handed it to me I said wow the smalls have really gotten small. She just smiled and said $3.45. Came here after a day at Dorney Park. To my surprise, there was a long line. I am assuming that everyone that got kicked out of Dorney Park ended up on the other side for ice cream. This place offers soft serve, speciality ice cream flavors, milk shakes, gelatos. They also have a great selection of ice cream sandwiches and ice cream birthday cakes. I got the pumpkin and vanilla ice cream soft serve which was very light. I wish it would have been in a bigger cup. The staff was really helpful and let me try multiple samples. read more

Shop was crowded and no seating in the main room. The side room had some free seats if anyone wanted to eat there. The initial flavors I wanted were gone by the time I reached the counter. The ice cream was really delicious and the price was affordable which explains the large lines around dinner time. I had 3 scoops of peach, mint chocolate chip, strawberry hard ice cream. The inside had a traditional and retro decorations and the staff members were really helpful allowing me to try different flavors and give their recommendations. The ice cream is very good! Full stop. BUT....and this is a big BUT...the service is almost ALWAYS a problem and on top of that...the manager NEVER does anything to address the issues. We come fairly often as we live nearby. We love the ice cream BUT Jesus, we are thinking we won't come back for a while if the manager and the workers don't get themselves in order. Tonight was busy. 3 full LONG lines. Several workers. 2 teens from the center line walked out of their line and up to the counter in front of our line. It was clear they wanted to be waited on by their friend who was supposed to take care of us. But instead of waiting on them, they stood and talked for about 10 minutes. We were ok with the girls wanting their friend to wait on them and we didn't say anything when they cut the line...but then the server just stood and talked and no service was happening. For 10 minutes. We said something. The people behind us said something. 3 workers gave us attitude for saying something. We mentioned it to the manager and she said she was so busy she hadn't noticed. While this was happening 3 workers continued to make fun of us for speaking up and the manager continued to "not notice ". Nothing was done. We were belittled for speaking out about what was right. We were harassed by the workers, the manager, and the 2customers who cut the line in front of us. This was tonight. There is almost always an issue. This place is packed. Crazy amounts of ice cream. Cakes and flavors galore. Lines out the door. It's like your standard ice cream shop but with 4 or 5 lines. It got a little confusing at the counter because the cash register is only in one place. This causes all lines to merge after ordering into a herd. They have so many choices. It's dazzling. The actual ice cream was pretty good. And let me tell you it's a serious helping. The large is too much for a human being. I always get a waffle cone but here I felt like you kinda have to get a bowl. So really cool place but if I'm trying to avoid chaos.... Chaos must succumb to your ice cream order. But then he skipped right over me and started helping the people behind me like I wasn't even there. I felt completely disrespected and invisible. There's no excuse for treating customers like that. First, too expensive. Second, and this is for the manager - Please emphasize to employees to get orders straight. A few days ago, I was at their location and ordered 2 sundaes, one regular, one large, no toppings. What do I receive? Two regulars with toppings. This has happened several times in the past. Knowing that the wrong ones would probably be thrown out, I accepted them simply because I didn't want them to be wasted. Great service by Miguel. He realized there was any rainbow icee left, so he got creative and mixed the ones that were there to get the job done. It made up for the downfall of being on line for 45 minutes but he made sure to leave a smile on my family face. Wish things didn't run out; but that must be a good thing. 2nd time I requested a half gallon of the nonfat, low sugar vanilla ice cream and the 2nd time I left without the half gallon because the machine was broken. The employee sold me what the machine did produce but it tasted like a berry ice cream instead of vanilla. We also ordered chocolate soft serve and that did not taste like chocolate - was very bland. First of all, very reasonable (even low) prices compared to lots of ice cream places I've been. Second, even when they are being overrun they work to fill orders quickly. Third, huge selection. I got Death By Chocolate, which was good, and Butter Brittle, which was fantastic. Hubby got a banana split & unfortunately all 3 of his ice creams were not worth repeating: chocolate was bland, vanilla was actually freezer burnt, and strawberry cheesecake was bland. I come to Ice Cream World all the time with friends because it stays open late, is cheap, and is in a convenient location. The indoor seating is cramped and claustrophobic, so sit on the outdoor benches and enjoy watching the roller coasters across the street. Their ice cream menu is extensive. I had a goal of trying to eat every flavor this summer but I am not on track to achieve this - not for lack of trying. Some flavors are great, some are terrible, and it isn't really even consistent. Service is questionable - everyone is nice, but they seem to be moving so slowly sometimes. You can also buy hot dogs. If you're looking for the best ice cream in the Lehigh Valley, this is not it. But if you're just wanting to hang out on a bench eating ice cream with your friends, this is perfect. read more

Came here after a busy and long day at Dorney Park with my kids and a friend of theirs. After reading my fellow Yelper reviews, I knew that there are three lines and upon entering, they were clearly marked in big arts and crafts projects hanging from the ceiling. Unfortunately, although I went into the least crowded line I had a slow counter person and it really didn't make a difference. The only positive was that it was one of the hottest days of the year and the air conditioning was nice. Their menu chalkboard was huge behind the counter, and it took a while to decide what to get. Since we were sort of in a hurry, I chose for everyone the small bowl with a cone stuck in. It was cheap and fast. You were allowed to sample ice cream if you wanted, and the counter help was friendly. I did not pick up on any poor customer service as other Yelpers pointed out. It was just a bit slow. The ice cream itself was nothing awesome, but it wasn't bad. It did not taste old or have crystals in it. I had a salted caramel and toffee mix. The toffee was not that good but the salted caramel was quite tasty. One kid had ice cream cake (they sell full cakes) flavor which I think is cake fails so they can still sell it. That was good. The others were vanilla and some other flavor that kids would like. Overall, much better prices than eating in the park, and a nice treat after a long day. Again, not awesome ice cream but fine. About $12 for four smalls in a bowl with a cone. read more

I really wanna love this place and give it more stars, but there are some basic issues that are hard to overlook. I love that they offer so many flavors and options. The worker have always been friendly. I love their chocolate chip cookie sandwiches. It's honestly a hit or miss when I get ice cream there though. I've had their malts and shakes and they are very yummy, but there have been a handful of times I have gotten a scoop of icecream and it has been thawed and refrozen. Like it has the texture of marshmallow with little bits of ice crystals. It's very frustrating. Also the place is not very clean. The floor is always dirty. I've worked in food service and understand there is not always time to mop a floor in the middle of the day, but their floor looks pretty bad every time I walk in. read more

Agree that it's not the best ice cream ever (see my review on Toth's Dairy!), but this is pretty darn good. Multiple flavors and all sorts of cone varieties. I recommend the pretzel cone especially if you're doing some type of vanilla-based ice cream. Combo of sweet ice cream and the salty cone is just so awesome! Can get very crowded, but is very well staffed with numerous servers so the wait is never too long. I have never had any of their ice cream cakes, but if they're made from their ice cream, I'm sure they're pretty darn good as well! I also like that the ice cream is not overly sweet. Someone else mentioned Cold Stone Creamery, and I think Cold Stone's is too sickly sweet and also over-priced. Ice Cream World definitely wins! read more

Oh yeah! If your in the area them stop by and get some ice cream. Too many favors and it was hard to choose but I went with birthday cake in a peanuts waffle cone. One scoop was huge. Came here during my trip to dorney for a quick treat after a day of rides. Compare to many other ice cream places I have been to, ice cream world is far better in both taste and price. I was able to get two cones with two scoops each for under $10 !! I got a cookie cone with a scoop of salted caramel and a scoop of strawberry shortcake. Salted caramel has a really interesting flavor, a bit salty yet it retained the sweet taste of caramel. Strawberry shortcake was decent and came with frozen strawberries and actual cake. However the cookie cone wasn't as good as I expected. I would recommend anyother cone but the cookie cone. Overall this is a great place to get a nice dessert, they have sundaes, splits, cakes, and many other great treats. I would definitely come back here again during my next dorney trip. read more

Very bad service. We were there at 9:30pm to get ice cream and at 10:00pm they starter sweeping all the dust on the floor towards us as we were finishing up our ice cream. When we told them to stop throwing dust at us the two girls said that they were closed and we should not be in there. They were very rude and started laughing at us as we were heading out. I understand they were closing and wanted to go home, but they should've told us that they were closing as we were not aware, instead of throw dust as us. So Ice Cream world use to be the place to go while growing up in town. I came back to town, and wanted to relive my childhood, however, that did not happen. The service was below par for what I would of excepted for a ice cream shop opened for how many years. the amount of ice cream you receive for the cost is not worth the money. So many employees not helping customers, even though the line was 9 deep waiting to be served. The ice cream tasted the same, but the amount you get was very little. it did not even cover the top of the dish. you are better off finding a different place even if you have to drive. read more
