Crazy Cones is hidden in plain sight. It is tucked into a shopping center down the road from the Lehigh Valley Mall. It was brought to my attention that Crazy Cones is a family-owned business, and the owners were great. The ambience is very simple. There isn't any indoor seating, but there are plenty of benches and tables outside to enjoy your ice cream. The parking lot is modest in size, but wasn't too busy when I was there, so it was fine. When it comes to ice cream, you can keep it classic with chocolate or vanilla or add flavours to the outer twists of your cone! The prices are fair. There are three sizes. Small, médium and large. In all three sizes, you are given large portions and creative flavours. I had a médium cookies and cream ice cream cone. It was delicious. From my first experience, I can say you will get great quality ice cream and friendly service. Not only do I recommend Crazy Cones, but I will be back to try other flavours! read more

Not sure how I lived in Allentown for so long without knowing about this place. As soon as my friends and I discovered it, we came at least once a week. What a treat! You can get standard soft serve piled in enormous swirls on a cone (covered in sprinkles or chocolate shell, if you desire). You can get mix-ins. You can get sundaes. You can get psycho blends. My favorite was Crazy Luke's Psycho with oreo ice cream and peanut butter sauce and Reese's peanut butter cups. Amazing. They're a small place with outdoor seating. Ample parking. My husband and I stopped by this joint about 30 minutes before they closed for the day - let me tell you, Crazy Cones was packed! The (probably) owner and his employees were hustling tonight. With the plethora of options, it was difficult to take everything in before it was our turn to order. The (assumed) owner was very gracious and patiently nudged orders out of us. He (correctly) recognized that this was probably our first visit and gave us a stamp card to work towards a free cone. I ordered a medium vanilla soft serve in a sprinkle cone with sprinkles on top, and my husband ordered a medium chocolate-dipped Reese's(!) peanut butter soft serve in a regular cone. The portions were gigantic and the toppings were generous. I actually couldn't finish my cone (there's a first for everything). The ice cream itself was very creamy, lacked noticeable ice crystallization, and had a well-balanced sweetness. Crazy Cones has an exhaustive list of toppings, mix-ins, and flavor injections, it's very likely they'll have what you're craving. 5/5 stars for delicious soft serve and wicked customer service! This is our family's favorite place to be in the summer. We always lament the season's closing and wish it was open all year. The staff is super friendly and very apt, they never mess up our order and we are used to baffling people just due to our family's size. There is ample outdoor seating and on rainy days we take it to go. Parking can get cramped, but there is a vacant lot next door we use for overflow. They have so many soft ice cream options and add in flavors. They make the best shakes and have waffle and sundae specials, but they don't have too many diet options. read more

So I thought I would give the place a try. I'm glad I did. It was only a few miles away, the staff was very friendly, and the ice cream was delicious, maybe the best I have ever had. We go there at LEAST once a week- Open from March to October- depending on the weather- Yes- as Ricky W Said they do offer Flavor Burst- but what they have that I have NEVER seen before is their one of a kind Candy Injection Soft Serve Machine! You can get Reese's Pieces, Oreo, Sprinkles, Andes Candies, Whoppers, Butter finger, Heath, and maybe a few others that get swirled in right with the soft serve- BUT you can only get this with Vanilla- and yes they also have the flavor burst- (and you can get more than one candy or flavor at a time!) They also make their own Waffles on Wednesdays for a waffle sundae- Also- great milkshakes - I love chocolate milkshakes and this they can mix the candy in with- Chocolate with Oreo... YUM!!! Best Ice Cream in the Valley. Flavor Burst is amazing along with the CrunchyCream. Another Plus is that you can get the flavor burst in non fat sugar free varieties. So you can get a delicious treat without all that sugar and fat. I recommend mixing Strawberry and Cheesecake flavors. Amazing. The Butter Pecan is also awesome.
