I used to really like this place but honestly the last couple times I've been terribly disappointed. Tonight I ordered on the app and drove (appx 1mi) to the restaurant. Pulled in my spot and checked in. 3-5m later the server came out with my food. She was very nice. The food was meh. *Barely* warm, the fries stale and tasted like old chicken grease, and my sweet tea had no sugar in it at all. Don't waste your time or money. We wanted slushes and ice cream so took the 15 minute drive up to this Sonic because my son never had sonic and wanted to try it. Ordering in the app was easy. When we arrive a service came out and said she couldnt make ice cream or slushes. And there is no easy way to be reimbursed. The server was polite. We ended up getting two cherry limeades which were okay but just not what we wanted. My son loved his corn dog. We also got fries and chicken fingers which were cold. We got a steak and bacon grilled cheese that was not even edible and i had to throw it out. I definitely wont be back here again. It also took 20 minutes, we didnt have that much time. Every time I go here I have a huge problem... Wrong burger combo meal,burnt burgers, horrible service. I used to like this place, but I can't get a decent meal here at all. Even filed complaint and was told that I would get a replacement meal, but that never happened. Went back again and there was 1 car at the window and one waiting to order. Went there November 21ST around 5:45-6 the food tasted burnt and the burger meat was over cooked. However the fries there are really good! Overall the best part was the service, the only complaint was the wait, I got the drinks first then waited about 15 minutes for the food. There were no cars in drive thru- when I got there around 2:00 on Sunday afternoon. Female voice over intercom said "we'll be right with you" while I was looking at menu board. Then nothing continued to happen. I was in no rush so I just waited. Finally guy came out of back door, told me I should come to window because they were not connected to intercom or speaker... So I drove to window. I asked young lady about grilled cheese double cheeseburger if bread was toasted or grilled. She said it's toasted. I told her I like it grilled. Then she said it's grilled. Told her I decided to get beef hot dog with no ketchup, only mustard, relish and onions. I wanted hot dog bun toasted, but guy insisted they cannot do that. I wanted onion rings but they didn't have any. Took quite a while to prepare one hot dog. It was pretty good after all that!! Ordered an ocean water... was literally just blue water... no soda or flavoring. Disappointed.

Came by to get something to eat on my trip back south. I waited forever at a stand because I ordered on the app. After waiting 15 minutes when there was literally nobody in line, I called to check on my order. My food came out another 15 minutes later. I missed the fact that they had the lights off (it was only 8 pm). Food was wrong as I drove off, it was a chili dog but somehow I had zero chili. I will never go back here again and might never buy from Sonic again period. read more

This location needs to get new management or something. We were the only customers there and it took over 15 minutes to get two items, and we had to go back through as they left out things. Food was mediocre at best. The employees were either on their phones or listening to music right in view of the pickup window. Very very unprofessional! Never going back to this location. Sonic on Airport Rd in Allentown has terrible service! There is no one in line or the parking lot and you still wait 10 to 15 minutes to get waited on. Thought I'd stop by Sonic and try their honey bbq boneless wings for lunch. The photo on the drive thru screen showed large chicken strips, so I was encouraged. it was not a long line but the lady taking taking our order took about five minutes to get our i order and I got a cheeseburger tater tots and the blackout slush and glasses that come with the blackout slush was extremely good in my opinion so if you have a chance you should definitely get it but the tater tots were a bit crunchy but still really good and the burger was good except for the meat it was a bit chewy in some parts of it but other than that sonic is really nice place to get food so I hope to get more chances to go in the future. read more

If you are a horse and are looking for a salt lick then this Sonic is for you. Everything that comes out from the grilled cheese, that's not actually grilled, coney island dogs that have salty chili and cheese, to the tots which are just salt with some potato thrown in for color are all miserable tasting. As much as people rave about this place the two times I've been there the place has been deserted. But at the drive thru since every order is supposedly made "fresh" it takes twice as long as going to Wendy's and McDonalds. But in the end you're just waiting a long time for salty slop. Stick with the Golden Arches instead. read more

This particular Sonic claims its slush and shake machines are down constantly. In the past 5 months, they have not had a working machine--perhaps longer. Worse of all, they make no attempt to state as much on their signage. Moreover, the wait times are often rather long despite the line being almost non-existent, with no one even answering the drive thru speaker for upwards to 15 minutes at a time. I grew up loving sonic. Hangout place for all my friends in HS- that was in Texas. I had had a bad day and decided all I wanted was a sonic cranberry limeade so I looked up where a sonic was... 40 mins away- but I did it. When I got there I ordered a Route 66 Cranberry limeade (they had no cranberry so I went with strawberry, still good) I also got some mozzarella sticks (usually bomb) & a Jr Cheeseburger. When I got to the window they gave me my food & instead of a route 66 i got A SMALL! I couldn't see the screen so i'm not sure if that's what they entered but they also have a rude sign saying you can't adjust or add to order at the window and I had already had a bad day and didn't want to start a problem. Then i pulled away and found my moz sticks didn't have marinara & my burger bun was STALE! No wonder people here are confused when I say something about sonic being great... This place gives sonic a bad name- shape it up. You don't need to get your employees on roller skates but atleast open the car hops and actually listen to peoples order and just have a better vibe. Terrible service, completely disrespectful workers. My girlfriend is allergic to tomatoes. I specified no tomato or sauce and add bacon on her cheeseburger. They didn't add bacon, they put two tomato slices in there, and drowned it in sauce. She can't simply take the tomatoes off as it would still trigger an allergic reaction. I took the burger back to the kitchen and asked for a new burger with the corrections, specifying that it was a matter of allergies. They brought out the same burger, drenched in sauce, no bacon, and still had the tomato juice from the slices they removed in it... the server couldn't seem to throw the burger through my window fast enough either. He dropped the bag on my lap and walked away without so much as a word out of his mouth. I'm appalled at the lack of professionalism, courtesy, and regard towards customers... My first time at this Sonic. Very strange experience for first timer. No place inside to order, in fact, there is no inside, just for employees. I really needed to use restroom, which is outside, female bathroom locked, had to use male one, ugh. I walked up to menu board but you can't stand there and touch screen your order. Seems you to have to press a red button which I thought was intercom, so I pressed numerous times, then I held it in, probably annoying everyone inside. Sorry, first timer there. So, you have to pull your vehicle into a slot, press red button once, and order. Got plain cheeseburger and small fries, not default "tots". $5.60. The default tots is why I wanted to order my fries inside to make sure they were fresh. So I got my food in about 6 1/2 minutes, not great. Fries not fresh, old. However, they were seasoned perfectly and not greasy oily, perfectly brown and had a crunch. The burger patty had great flavor, again, not tasting freshly hot. After it got lower temperature driving home, the patty could not stand up to that sweet bun. The sweet overwhelmed the patty too much, I didn't finish it. Ok, so on the food, they get average, the freshness, one star, the two employees I talked to in person, 5 star. If it weren't for the carhop 81 and the first guy I met trying to get in building, they would get two stars from me, period. Both were definitely wanting to provide the friendly experience. Seems this location, although it is overall weird, has some good staff in service, carhop 81 was so pleasant. Freshness, temperature was issue for me at 7:21pm. Can't say I would order food there again, maybe a frozen treat. read more

It is impossible to give this location less than one star. It has to be the worst Sonic in the chain. It's fast food. I've tried a couple of times to give the location a chance, and they get worse. The hamburgers - they're dry and cold. They must have made them the week before. Don't bother with the chili dogs. And a strawberry limeaid is not a cherry limeaid - listen to the order. The only thing that might be saving the place are the tater tots, but I won't be back again to find out. read more
