I love the decor of this place...it has a clean 70s diner shop vibe. There is a ton of booth seats in the front of the store. The back has a couch, a big vending machine for bouncy balls, and a shuffleboard. This ice cream place is located right on 309. I got the Vanilla Cake Crunchy which was delicious. I really liked the cake texture with the crunch in the ice cream. The ice cream tasted hella fresh. The place also has smoothies, milkshakes, Italian ice, and sundaes. This not a nice retro-ish vibe to it. Tons of flavors and big serving sizes, altho a bit pricey. I wish they had cookies and cream when I was there, but instead ended up settling with some soft serve vanilla ice cream. Can't go wrong. The place seems very homey too. Nothing says "Get in here and try our delicious homemade Ice Cream" like a Ginormous 30 foot Ice Cream Man armed with a Huge Scooper in one hand and a Massive Ice Cream Cone in the other. So I decided to stop in and get the inside scoop on the Inside Scoop.   Now I gotta say that this place is Totally Legit and it's a very unique shop that happily serves up Lots of flavor choices on some really delicious homemade ice cream plus You can tell the People who work here are Ginormously friendly which makes for a pretty cool experience. I ordered two scoops of Chocolate in a Waffle Cone with Sprinkles which I ate in My truck and it was some of the best homemade ice cream that I've enjoyed in a very long time.   Side note: word is they serve up espresso from a machine that was imported from Holland. Yes, yes, yes! I loved this ice cream shop! It's 100% worth it if you're around the area. The inside feels very retro, which I love, and they have multitudes of flavors. Honestly, something for everyone there. Tip: their kids is plenty. But their small is definitely plenty! The Inside Scoop is the perfect place to be on a warm day! The place was pretty packed half an hour before closing. There is a good amount of seating between booths, tables, couch area, and outside picnic tables. It's a great hangout spot for people of all ages and has a nice comfortable and modern feel to an old school look. There was a nice classy diner feel all throughout the place. There's a big gum ball machine (with regular rubber balls) and a shuffleboard table with ice cream pucks. They also have a drive thru which is pretty cool for an ice cream shop. My group decided to do a flight of ice cream. You can choose 5 different flavors. Each flavor was a full scoop into a cup that got placed as part of a spinning record. My group also tried the purple cow as a 6th flavor. All ice creams were delicious! Mint Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough - I've never seen this flavor before and it was one of my favorite flavors! Great mix of two popular flavors. ET - This is Reese's pieces. Delicious ice cream with Reese's pieces bites. Fluffer Nutter - Seemed like Nutter Butter pieces inside. You can taste the peanut butter. If you like peanut butter cookies, this is a good option. Beer and Nuts - This has Shocktop beer and nuts. The beer flavor is subtle, but a nice simple flavor. Mango Italian Ice - Basic ice, but very flavorful. Mango flavor is strong and was really good. Nice refreshing item and also a good flavor for those that don't like ice cream. Purple Cow - Raspberry ice cream with flakes of white chocolate and dark chocolate. The chocolates went well with the raspberry. Have stopped at this neat retro ice cream shop over many summers, ice cream is very good, however on today's visit it appears that extra staff is needed. There was a fairly short line and for whatever reason the servers took orders from customers to my family's left and right, is was if we were invisible. Meanwhile, there was staff in the back room and another cleaning equipment. Total of 5 scoops was over $18, good ice cream, but not that good. read more

The Inside Scoop is a Coopersburg staple and for good reason, the flavors are great. I, however, was very disappointed on my trip here when my husband was served the wrong flavors and I ordered a large and was given a medium. We did try to go back but then they were out of the flavors we previously ordered. Our second trip was successful in terms of getting what we ordered but I'm still salty about being served one less scoop! And my husband never got to try to chocolate chip cheesecake ice cream and was served something that was a chocolate base with nuts instead. Good thing he doesn't have a bit allergy!! I'm sure we will come back but we had heard great things and were disappointed in the customer service so this review is docked two stars for the lack of attention to detail, not the flavors. Hopefully in the future the attention to detail is there. read more

I really enjoy this ice cream parlor because it brings you back to a retro 80's place where you can enjoy ice cream. They have shuffle board. Couches. Old 80's booths and a really old school vibe. Staff is very sweet and accommodating. The greatest part is they make there own ice cream all in house. I really enjoy there monthly flavors. This month was Guinness I mean does it get any better than that??!! Incorporate a piece of Ireland into your sweet tooth. When you ate the ice cream it tastes like your drinking a beer. Parker's playground, butter pecan, coffee, and occasional maple walnut are my absolute favorites. They serve amazing espresso/coffee. If you care to take part in the volcano challenge which you should look up its up to you! They have so many more creative things they do with there ice cream like mix all the toppings your heart desires into a Mcflurry contraption on steroids!!! All there waffle cones are made fresh in store and the banana splits are out of this world. With reasonable prices and fresh ingredients can you go wrong? I can't get past how awesome this place is and despite being very out of the way its the perfect spot for a date, some amazing ice cream, and all in all a great vibe! My family and I decided to venture out to enjoy some ice cream for dinner and picked the Inside Scoop to be our venue. We have passed it numerous times in our travels and have never been in to try. Well we are happy we did. The atmosphere is very welcoming. It has an old-timey soda jerk feel with an extensive list of flavors to pick from. In the main area there are little jukeboxes at each table which was cool. Their sundae list only has a few options, but the basics are covered. I settled on a PB Sundae. It was great, the only downfall was that it was advertised to have a Reese's PB cup on it and it didn't. I guess I could have said something, but I was with my 2 small kids and didn't feel like it. My husband had some Maple Bacon ice cream. That was interesting. He really liked it, I thought it just tasted like Maple syrup with bacon bits in it....but I guess that means they nailed it. That flavor just isn't my cup of tea. My kids got just a single scoop of hard chocolate ice cream, we wanted the soft serve but we were alerted they don't make soft serve in the winter months. That was a bummer. One cool thing is they have a live facebook 'like' counter hanging up by their ice cream flavors. I tested out by liking their page and sure enough, it updated!
