When we arrived and saw that they were in a shopping mall, we were thinking about looking for somewhere else.... Boy I'm SO GLAD that we didn't! We arrived around 12:30 and they were packed - we were able to get a table outside (bar and inside dining area were too noisy for us)! Our server, Ariana O. was great! My wife enjoyed her Flamingo Fandango drink ($ 14.50) with the Torta Ahogada ($18.95) - both were delicious but the sandwich was very messy - better eaten with a knife and fork - and absolutely delicious as were their French fries that she had! I ordered the Beef "Cubano" sandwich ($ 17.95) with a side of golden beets ($ 2.00 up charge) glazed with the same horseradish sauce that was on the sandwich (Ariana's recommendation). Both were wonderful and we shared tastes of each other's items! It was worth the drive up and the impending drive back!!! We also shared a Dark Chocolate Custard pie that featured an Oreo type of crust with whipped cream and shaved dark chocolate as a topping - it tasted wonderful but I felt a little on the small size for the $ 12.95 price! All things considered, I would make the drive again to go back to experience the other items on the menu but as was suggested, I would definitely make a reservation for lunch and definitely would for dinner! FYI: their menu is seasonal so you want to view it online before you go!

I was initially on the fence about it since its in a shopping mall surrounded by chain restaurants and a wax salon, but I figured if it looked bad inside there was a Smashburger nearby. How wrong I was! The inside is absolutely stunning, what a beautiful space. It took a while to be seated since it was a holiday weekend but when we did we had a beautiful view of an indoor sunroom. We got the potato pierogi to start, which was fantastic, and my dish was the tofu scramble (with fruit as a side). The scramble had a surprising sweetness that was not unpleasant and was quite a large portion. Our server was great but he had a very strong and vibrant personality - which I did not care for when I first sat down and was tired and hangry, but he was great and won me over at the end, haha. Anyway, try this place, its amazing and next time I am in Allentown I will be back for sure.

First, there were rain and thunderstorms in the area the entire night before they played, but instead of moving inside they stuck them outside because the rain was "going to stop" according to the owners. Secondly, the owners rudely walked up to the band and cut them off in the middle of 4 straight songs due to them apparently being too loud. From where we were sitting, the band actually sounded great and had pretty low volume compared to other bands I've heard. Several other customers around us and people watching them perform were visibly frustrated and appalled at the way the band was treated. The bottom line is, If you have a noise issue, don't have bands. On top of all this the service down by the pavilion was miserable. Nobody was waiting tables or asking people if they would like to eat, and the tables were very dirty. And the food is very bad and quite expensive. My girlfriend got sick from the food she ordered. Please do not make the mistake of bringing a band hear or eating here.

We ended up trying the Bacon in the Sun, French Toast, PB&J, Strawberry Confetti (because my daughter loves herself a pink donut ), and of course, you can never go wrong with a good old-fashioned glazed donut. Let me tell you, these donuts were a lovely, fresh treat! Soft, flavorful, and made to order. Each one had its own unique twist, and it was so much fun trying all the different flavors. The Bacon in the Sun was the perfect mix of sweet and savory, while the French Toast tasted just like breakfast in donut form. And the Strawberry Confetti definitely got my daughter's stamp of approval! If you're a donut lover or just looking to satisfy your sweet tooth, this spot is definitely worth checking out. My brother and sister in law have raved about this brunch and it IS rave worthy!! So yesterday was my day! We were seated at a table that was wobbling like nobody's business. That's one thing I can't stand! We brought it to our server, Bella's, attention and she promptly assisted us and stabilized the table. During the course of our brunch the manager (I presume) also checked in to make sure our table was cooperating (which it was). Bella provided great service to us. I really enjoyed the offerings at this wonderful brunch! My sister in law made a reservation and I'm glad she did. Not long after we were seated the place started to get busy. I thought the food quality and presentation was top notch! Some of the offerings were prime rib, roasted turkey, omelette made to order, oysters Rockefeller- giant shrimp cocktail, salads, pasta, chicken divan, lox, bagels and a dessert emporium that will rock your world! That's only some of the offerings. So many choices you will find a lot to enjoy here for even the most picky palate! I enjoyed the prime rib especially. The young man slicing it was very pleasant (so sorry did not get his name) and it was tender and so freaking delicious. I enjoyed that immensely! The icing on the cake though was that delicious creamy horseradish sauce! WOW! Also I loved the tortellini with sun-dried tomatoes and spinach in a cream sauce- so rich and decadent. Another item I had to try was the eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was probably the best I've ever had. It is rich but had a nice lemony finish. I tried several other tasty items including the fresh and flavorful shrimp cocktail. I was truly happy with the entire experience. For 45$ you are getting the world. That's rare today! Included in the price is coffee, tea and soft drinks- that's another big plus for me! I hate when restaurants try to nickel and dime for soft drinks etc. Not here! They also offer 5$ mimosas and Bloody Mary's. My husband enjoyed his Bloody Mary. I would definitely come back in a heart beat! Sonia was very pleasant too, she was restocking the side room with offerings. We had a pleasant conversation. *** oh*** one other thing I failed to mention- when I was there, the buffet was in pristine condition throughout the experience. I've been to other places where the buffet looks great in the beginning but then, as time passes it starts to look sloppy with food splatter, looks picked over, and food items nearly empty. Not here!!! Great experience. You won't regret it!!! It's well worth the price!

I know nothing about this place and the pictures looked good, so here's how things went at Notch Modern Kitchen & Bar! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right off of a semi-main road is this gem. It looks like nice house from the road, but once you pull into the driveway and go around the back you'll see a private parking lot and the main entrance. Once inside you're just welcomed by moderately high ceilings, wide open spaces, intimate lighting and soft music. This place felt so modern, up-to-date and comfortable. It was a Monday in July at 7:00pm but the restaurant wasn't busy. I didn't mind so my co-worker and I sat at the bar. Service: I can't remember the name of the gentlemen who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. I really gotta start writing down the names of folks who take care of me. Sorry guy. Food: First up were the Buffalo Egg Rolls which consist of tender braised chicken, Frank's hot sauce, smoked gouda, cream cheese, and ranch. These were hot, crispy, flavorful and definitely hit the spot. Next up were the Notch Confit Chicken Wings which are slow-braised in duck fat then flash fried and served with house ranch dressing and choice of sauce. We chose Bobby's BBQ Secret Sauce which was rich, hearty, peppery with a low-level of spice. The wings themselves were juicy, CRAZY CRISPY and quite sizeable. I was a big fan of these. For my entree I went with the Pad See Ew which is pan-fried wide rice noodles, with broccoli, egg, peas, snow peas, garlic, and carrots with a light and sweet soybean sauce. It was delicious, tender, juicy, not too heavy and I really liked it! I was actually really surprised me with how Thai-focused this restaurant was and how well everything was executed! Value: Buffalo Egg Rolls = $16.00 (3 cut in 1/2 yield 6 pieces.) Notch Confit Chicken Wings = $17.00 (8 pieces.) Pad See Ew = $18.00 For the quality and atmosphere that this place exhibits, it's totally worth the money here and I'd 100% come back to try out some more things! In conclusion, I loved it here, it's well-deserving of its high Yelp rating and I look forward to revisiting in the future!

The burger was so thick that it didn't get a great sear on the outside and was falling apart. I did hear a waitress recommend medium well due to the size and I would definitely suggest that to anyone who tries it. It had a great flavor so I would still recommend you try it. I also ordered the notch fried rice bowl. Chinese sausage, pork belly, peas, carrots, bell peppers, tomatoes, garlic, broccoli, egg, bean sprouts, togarashi spice, and topped with a dippy egg. This dish was savory, Asian fusion cuisine mixed with something that felt like comfort food. If you go here, this is what I would recommend you try, but their whole menu looked incredible. Moist inside with a crisp outer shell. Then the crispy calamari. A peppery batter and the inside was tender, not chewy. The portions for this were perfect, not too much, but a fair appetizer size. I finished off with the shrimp teriyaki. This was served on a bed of shredded vegetables and a side of rice. It had everything to be a good dish, but the sauce was lacking and tasted like a watered down teriyaki with pepper. I just wasn't here for it, but if you like an extremely mild teriyaki then it might be for you! Service: The waitress was attentive and even stopped by to refill my water. I really enjoy when they stop a few times so if you are needing extra sauce or condiments you can request them. Overall an ok experience. Ambiance: The atmosphere was different than I had expected. Dark walls with blue lights all over. The lighting was too dark for my personal taste and I'd prefer a classic white or candlelight style lighting when eating. Value: My meal was a great value for how much food I received and the variety of food. In total, my meal was $16 for 3 appetizer sized dishes, rice, and a bowl of soup. Recommend: If you are looking for a cool atmosphere with a fairly priced lunch menu, I would say this is the spot for you. If you were looking for bold flavors and a more authentic experience, I would opt to pass.
