This is nothing against Home Depot as a store, I find your staff to be wonderful and the store is always stocked with the things I need! This 1 star review is due to a rather unfriendly critter that hitched a ride home from the store in Tehachapi. My mother works at Home Depot and informed me that there were camel spiders who call this store home. And when she came home tonight, she brought a hitch hiker home with her. A gigantic camel spider. This arachnoid was massive, and though I know their bite is not poisonous, it is extremely painful and I would prefer not to be gnawed on by that critter. I hope that this location takes measures to relocate these insects or fumigates the store to protect customers and staff from bringing home a newly unwanted pet. Absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen at a big box store. I went in for special order blinds, just 3 of them, and when I got them home after a two weeks wait time I find the dimensions that they submitted were wrong... not on one but ALL 3 of them! To the lady at the blinds counter, YOU HAVE ONE f$&# JOB! ‍ Every other visit I find myself roaming looking and never being able to find a rep who can help, knows what part I'm talking about, or can direct me to the right area. And these guys want $15 an hour?? No way! The last time I ordered from HomeDepot.com and I went to the store due to an issue, the store completely lost the online order... no record, nothing! Poof, gone! If it weren't for me keeping a copy of the electronic payment I would have been completely screwed! Oh, and don't expect them to carry parts for their line of commercial water heaters either. Word of wisdom... hire competent employees and get rid of the $hit ones that are there now!!! The Home Depot - Really shitty service - Hardware Stores Near Me - Tehachapi, California

I went in this evening for some assistance in the electrical department. I had purchased a Fluorescent light fixture and had some concerns about wiring it. The Lady, who waited on me, was not helpful, and apparently had no clue as to customer relations. When I get answers such as look it up on U-Tube like I did, etc. Isn't appropriate.. If there was a lower rating than 1, I would gladly give it, which is really sad, because I have shopped there for years and know some employees. read more

Watch out for these people. I swiped my card at the customer service counter ( in the store ) and someone made an unauthorized purchase for $469.00. This didn't happen on the web, it happened in the store. No one apologized, I was lied to several times and I still don't have my money. The manager, Eric Casillas, was too cowardly to come to the front of the store and explain to me why it was my problem that his employees were stealing from me. Zero help in this situation. I tried to be calm and polite. I didn't lose my cool until I came back to the store for the fourth time about my missing $469.00 dollars. I usually prefer Lowes, but Home Depot had it in stock. I wish I had just waited for Lowes. I've made an FTC fraud report as well as a police report. read more

This Home Depot has more problems than Carter has little liver pills. One example... we ordered a new front door for our house that came to around $1600 with delivery and installation... on JANUARY 9th. It is now June 25. We are on our third door reorder and we still don't have an installation date. I have been yelled at, hung up on, and all kinds of other humiliations. One employee even told me I needed to "drop my attitude". And this is not an isolated incident. So many other screw-ups... And we do not have an alternative closer than 40 miles away. We ordered a new countertops install on October 12. It was scheduled to be finished Nov. 22. It was close to finish date and we were never even contacted about a measurement. I had to call Candace in countertops, and she emailed the company. They left a message while I was at work. 3 times I tried to call and leave a message. No one would return my call. So I called Candace again at The Home Depot. Finally, they came out to measure. We are now at the end of December, and NEVER heard from HD or the Counter company. I had to call again. So she checks the notes. All materials were on back order for 5-6 weeks. We never received a phone call, an email, nor a text. Horrible communication. We have to call and beg for updates. We canceled the entire order. If you don't care about your customers, we don't care about you either. read more

I work construction a lot with my dad, he's an electrician, so i know what to look for in a home depot lol The parking lot here is pretty big too, and they carry anything you'll need for a home improvement project, or a construction project. My true rating would be a negative 200 stars but unfortunately I had to leave a single star to write this review. The Home Depot here in Tehachapi is USELESS and I don't ever plan on going back. At the end of July I went in to get a flooring quote. I paid the $50 measure which would (supposedly) hold the current offer of $0.89 a square foot install for laminate. August 9th, I'm sitting around my house ALL day waiting for install. I called finally and they said "Oh we have you down for next week" although the receipt I had in my hand said otherwise. So the guy comes to measure the following week... He can't tell me what his fancy little wall laser thing says because he's "not trained to do that"?? So you can measure but you can't add it up to give me the actual square footage??? I got a call a few days later from the measure people... Took those numbers into the store to make sure the quote was right... It's not. They had the material wrong and didn't honor the $0.89 sq/ft install. So I question it. 5 people later I'm told to go home and that a manager would contact me. A week later I heard nothing from them so I went back in. I got to sit down with Marta who corrected my quote, printed it and gave me a copy to go over with my husband at home. I emailed Marta at the address she gave me and asked her to add the delivery fee since my husband works a lot and couldn't pick up. She did. So the following week my husband and I go into the store to purchase all the material and schedule the install... MAGICALLY our quote is not in the system. The material I wanted is out of stock with zero answer as to when it would come back in stock AND I was told they would not honor the $0.89 install even though I had the printed quote in my hand from Marta. We left upset after talking to 6 different people and left a note for Marta to call me back so we could clear this up. 5 days later I never received a call or email from anyone. I went into the store and demanded the $50.00 measure back and returned the box of flooring I ordered. Wasted 6+ weeks of my time on this place! read more

But seriously, until HD dumps XPO as their delivery company, I won't be doing anything there that requires a delivery/install. After looking for instructions on YouTube to install the washer/dryer ourselves, hubby and I saw we seriously dodged a bullet. We shop at Home Depot A LOT! We recently moved to Tehachapi and are extremely disappointed with their customer service during multiple visits. During our most recent trip the return counter associates even went out of their way to argue with and block the homedepot.com rep out of our order to try and keep her from helping us. Thankfully the homedepot.com rep was very helpful and found another way to resolve our issue. We will make our Home Depot purchases at another location from this point forward whenever possible. read more

Another review for Home Depot. Service still has no improvement. We unfortunately had a run in with a skunk. Leaving us in a hurry to replace flooring all over our house. We dreaded having to deal with Home Depot after our granite catastrophe. Living in Tehachapi and working full time we were really left with no choice. Hoping and praying we would have a better experience, trying to stay positive, we are left in disappointment again. Starting with getting the estimate. We consulted with an older lady in the flooring department for 3 hours before getting the correct estimate. We ordered and paid in full for laminate wood and carpet that day. We were told it would take no longer than 2 weeks to get the materials in, then we would get called after it was picked up to schedule an installation. Scroll forward ... Took us 23 days for the laminate to get to Home Depot, 7 packages out of the 34 that is. After calling for 3 days and getting so many excuses and the run around, a manager went and picked up the rest of the materials. We get a call the next day saying they could install on Tuesday. This was Thursday when they called. Install the laminate that is. The carpet they don't know when they can install. They weren't informed they would be moving any furniture to install carpet. BUT wait ... Home Depot had it blasted all over the flooring department free furniture moving with carpet install. We included in the estimate what we had that would need to be moved. So where was the communication messed up? Fast forward to now, still no flooring. Still no carpet installation appointment. read more

Awful customer service (cashiers are unfriendly and employees are never helpful) and poor management (why do they offer classes if they don't start on time or just show videos?) I went to this store filled the cart with moving supplies, went to check out I tried to use my VA veterans ID for a 10% discount and was denided. I was told that it had to say service connected on my ID. The example the cashier showed me didn't have those words on the card. Is it because I'm a woman that she didn't believe I was a veteran? I have used that ID card all over California and Oregon. It was embarrassing. When I told her this she replied not at this store. This store needs more training. read more

I don't know what it is about this Home Depot. But some of the staff here are rude and condescending namely in returns.

There is a reason this store only gets 2 stars on yelp. They are ill informed, rude and no nothing about customer service! I spend almost an hour ordering a dishwasher with them, I should of known better but they were convenient. I paid all the little extras they kept adding on so that a 550 dollar dishwasher ended up almost 800, waited the allotted time for them to order it, paid to have it installed, another 100 extra. The delivery people were right on time, only to tell me that they are not allowed to install the dishwasher into the type of plumbing I have. Why would the store not ask questions about this before hand? Answer: from the manager " we don't know what our contractor are or are not allowed to do, this is your problem not ours". She then gave me the number to file a complaint with headquarters, 3 transfers later that number hung up on me. I so wish we had a LOWES!. The dishwasher has been returned, the contractor wasted their time and mine and sincerely hope Home Depot does some customer service training with their employees! DONT BY ANYTHING FROM THIS STORE!!!!!! Just an addition talked to the Sears store in town, same dishwasher, 60 dollars cheaper, no problem with install.....Much better option for anyone! read more

Just plain awful to their employees that actually work hard. The store manager kim is completely unreasonable and needs to learn respect. Most employees that slack off and don't care about doing a good job. Their are a handful of good employees but the store is ran chaotically. Unfortunately the Poor customers suffer do to the fact most hard workers are ran raged and pulled in ten different directions and the lazy ones hid out or act like they are doing something and don't have time. read more

Worst customer service ever....we ordered something in the store on June 28th. When we checked on the progress we were told it was shipped out on the 4th. So we waited and waited and waited....everytime being told it's coming. We called on July 10th and was told it should be here the next day. Called back Tuesday the 11th and was told the delivery truck was there and they will call us that night to let us know it was there...never got a phone call....my husband went into the store on July 12th because he thought well they said it was in the night before.... still nothing...after asking for a manager Angela she decided to call the warehouse to find out the status just to be told they had been damaged in the delivery process and could be reordered or refunded if we wanted to...well today is July 17th and we're still waiting for our order ... read more

Used Home depot.com to order a Kohler 5 ft corner Jacuzzi tub and various other necessary parts for the install. Large order over 4000.00 Much to my surprise some items were in stock at the store. (not the tub) Picked up in store items after a short wait for the order to be pulled. Waited for tub delivery date and no arrival. went to the store and was told the payment was declined for specifically the amount of all the non stocking items but yet all the in stock items went through ? ? ? I checked with credit card company and was told the amount was authed and paid in full. After several hours of discussion with home depot AND home depo.com rep I was told the amount was being returned to my account as the order was canceled for failed payment ? ? ? yes they said that. OK have installers coming tomorrow to put in a tub that is not there. needless to say not happy. Reordered tub Used same card but the tub went up in price by over 300.00 Depot.com rep said they could not do the price of the prior transaction. At this point I am being extorted and I know it but I have NO CHOICE. I purchased tub I was told transaction was approved. Waited for delivery date.......Again no show. Called store called depot.com was told it was in route. Told installer tub did not arrive this time installer told me there would be a 400.00 non refundable deposit to re-schedule a install as he had now wasted 2 days on a tub that was not here. Needless to say I did not reschedule the install. The tub did arrive 2 days later. Now a completely different fiasco. I have pictures and will forward to any who wants to see them. The delivery company did call and say they were dropping the tub in the driveway. I told them I need the tub dropped on the front porch. They said no driveway only (at this point I was a day after back surgery and could not move the tub if I had wanted to. Anyway I went out front. As the delivery driver opened the back of the Truck the tub fell 1/3 out of the box (was stacked on side not on protective pallet as designed) I told the driver to stop so I could inspect. he told me that he only drops the item in the driveway and dose not need inspection or signature. As there was visible damage with out being removed I advised him I was refusing the tub. the driver then told me I could call home depot while he unloaded it. I started snapping pictures with my phone and advised him the tub was damaged and to not unload it. several minuets of literally standing the way the driver finally gave up and shoved it back into the truck and left. I returned to home depot and showed the Pro desk the pictures. they called home depot.com. the rep said they will process a refund as soon as the delivery driver documents the refused delivery. AGAIN I had to pay for ANOTHER tub up front. This time I scheduled in store pickup so any damage could be seen before pickup. Did finally get a good quality UNDAMMAGED tub. And finally got it installed today. all my refunds were processed as promised and the home depo.com rep did on the third purchase match the Original purchase price . The in store pro desk rep`s were professional and caring but were very limited in what they can do. What can I say except SMH. I had a plumbing issue and had to figure out how to fix it. Not only did they find me, take me by the hand and lead me exactly where I had to go, but they helped me figure out what I needed and how to do it, too! There were no lines, I was in and out way quicker than I thought I would be, and everyone from the plumbing salesman to the cashier was super friendly. just wanted to say that if you order something to be delivered like vanity toilet or a 6' sliding glass door duel pane window you better have help on hand it seems that home depot will deliver but only drop it off in your drive way . so save your $80.00 dollar delivery charge and have a friend get it for you. it really also pisses me off if your returning something and the 4 people behind the counter are to busy chatting with a customer to help you after 10 min. seriously next time your in the store watch how many employees stand around and ignore people try to get someone to help you load your vehicle they usually show up after your done and say "can i help you " read more

Try being an employee there!!!!!!!! Favoratism, nepotism, removing documents from employee files that would make HD look bad, which by the way I think is a crime, no training, managers lying to the State of CA with selective memory, night manager having the same man come I'm in the store every night that he is on duty and sets product outside the store so he can pick it up on his way out for free. Employees clicked up and little pumpkin patches as they call them and neither other employees out of the loop when they are supposed to be a team. Front end head cashier screaming at employees in front of customers. The lead at the service desk not the supervisor but the lead has no respect for any of her fellow employees only her friends that work there. I personally loved working there and the majority of the employees are a joy to be around but overall if they don't want you there they'll do everything they can to write you up, lye in situations, to build up ammunition to fire you. So many complaints from customers about not getting calls back. Many valuable customers shop there because it's the only hardware store in Tehachapi too bad they can't get better service. read more

I bought a refrigerator a month ago was expecting to receive it TODAY 7/28/18 and never showed up. I called the first time at 11:15 and they said between the hours of 11-3:30 I called again at 4 & Kim said they're delayed but they'll be there today. Called again at 5 and they said they're on their way.. I called right now again at 6:10 and Natalie said that the driver noted that he showed up at 1:15 and no one was home. Called and left a message! LIES! Why didn't Kim or any other customer service person tell us? We didn't leave the house today at all, We have cameras and sensors in our home plus we can see as soon as someone pulls up! Now they say they can't do anything until Monday to reschedule! Worst Home Depot I've ever felt with horrible liars and very unprofessional delivery people! Very disappointed in Home Depot's local female manager at the Tehachapi, CA store. I have served on the U.S. Selective Service board for over 15 years. The board formally referred to as the "Draft Board," is made up of retired and former members of the military that are recommended by the local congressman, governor and the president of the United States. After showing my I.D. today to make a better than $150 purchase, my discount was denied. I was told when I accepted the assignment on the board that I should never hesitate to ask for a military discount where available. I have used it many times before at Home Depot as well as many other places. According to the local manager, our I.D. does not show up on their approved list...well it should be. Sorry to say I left store with out my purchase... I will go elsewhere to purchase home improvement in the future such as Lowes where my I.D. is accepted. Military members and Board members, if they wont give you the discount, shop elsewhere. read more

great number of clipboard carriers running around but no one with any knowledge to help you. employees love to talk to each other about last nights outings and friends passing through while you wait patiently. never more than one checkout open unless you want to go through garden section. self check out sucks and home depot people tell me that customers complain about it all the time but home office could care less, i wait until i go to bakersfield or lancaster to shop lowe's. i agree with other poster, great parking lot. henry's usually has cheaper prices but not the selection of hd. i hit there first, pioneer, and hd last. i buy at hd as a last resort if i need something right away. customer service is their boast but boast does not add up on the flooror checkout. last time i bought pain there, client wanted special color and brand, it was a hour and fifteen minute process. the girl manning the paint section called for help, none came. i finally got tired of waiting and called for manager and she finally showed up with two other employees to clear line of six customers waiting at counter. read more

Had an issue attempting to return an item that was 32 days from purchase date. Staff assigned to the return area were great, however, they informed me the manager Arti would not allow them to return the item since it was 2 days over the 30 day window. Since I refused to leave until I could speak to the manager who finally informed me it was the policy that Home Depot never excepts returns on lawn mowers, weed eaters etc. regardless of a problem. Funny apparently no one else working their is aware of that policy lol. Anyway, he refused to return the product stating that's the way it is. Funny, went to another Home Depot unnamed lol who happily returned the product with a full refund. What I found from my experience with Arti, he was a condescending person with a caviler attitude; in other words "Little Man Complex." So based on my experience, when returning any item your almost always better to return it stating you don't have the receipt, as well as saying you purchased the item(s) within a 30 day window to avoid a person such as Arti. You will get store credit and avoid any hassles. Or deal with the true manager of Tehachapi Home Depot KIM. Maybe if bothered enough she might take some type of action on inept supervisors. read more
