Called to view some TimberTech railing. Spoke to Ed and asked specifically if he had a showroom sample so I could inspect it. He said he did. I had him check to be sure because I was driving a ways and he confirmed. Told him I was on the way. Go there and the showroom was empty. Nobody there. Had to walk back into the office area to flag someone down. They went and got someone from back and asked where Ed was - he was a lunch. So I asked to see the TimberTech railing and they did not have it. The guy could even answer basic questions on it. What a complete waste of time. Go anywhere else but this place. We paid for a large shipment of IPE wood decking. Our order was pulled, stacked, wrapped in Cellophane, and ready for transport. We arranged for machinery to be onsite to unload the order upon delivery. We were told the wood would be picked up on a specific day and that someone would reach out with the tracking information. Unfortunately, that day came and went several times, while the wood sat wrapped in plastic, unable to breathe. We raised our concerns about the wood getting damaged as a result of not being able to breathe with our sales representative. He assured us that the wood would be unwrapped, restacked, and re-wrapped. We even received pictures of the stacks after this was done. After weeks of waiting, we finally received the wood. Upon unloading, we noticed a small percentage of unusable pieces, but otherwise, the wood appeared to be in good condition. However, once we began the installation, we discovered that each board had damage on all four sides. The wood had large deep cuts. The wood was likely damaged when it was restacked. It looked as though the boards were slid across one another with rocks or gravel in-between the boards. As a result, each piece had to be sanded before it could be oiled and installed. The sanding process took anywhere from 10 to 45 minutes per board (at an hourly rate). With the time spent sanding and the 16 pieces that were beyond repair, the additional costs quickly added up. Our point of contact assured us they were an ethical company and would take care of us with a fair resolution. All we asked for was reimbursement for either the money or the replacement wood. Unfortunately, we were met with empty promises and found ourselves wasting time. In the end, we had to dispute the charges with our credit card company before the deadline expired. The following day, we received another email saying they were "working on it," but, as of now, we still have not received a resolution. In the meantime, our deck remains unfinished, delaying the project and costing us money. We will provide an update as this situation develops. read more

The quality of wood here is second to none. Is super smooth and ready to install and oil. My previous supplier of ipe only has stuff that you have to spend days sanding to get smooth. If you've ever sanded ipe you know its not like regular wood and it isnt fun. All of the boards I got from Brazilian lumber were nearly perfect. It saved me tons of man hours. As an owner/builder this means a lot to me. On top of this the board foot pricing was much cheaper than my previous supplier. The ordering process was smooth and easy. I asked for a bunch of quotes because my measure kept changing and each time I got a new email quote just like I asked, and quickly. I spoke to several people on the phone and they were all very pleasant. I made the drive to LA and picked up my order on will call and was promptly greeted with a hand shake and everyone I had previously spoke to greeted me kindly with big smiles. They immediately made me feel like family in there. My order was loaded up quickly and professionally and I was on my way. Gave the warehouse guy an extra tip because I asked for the whole pallet to be dropped on my trailer which turned out to be more of a pain than I though it would because he had to rearrange the wood by hand. It wasnt until I got home that I realized how gorgeous the wood was. Very straight boards, all edge sealed. The colors and striations were crazy beautiful - especially once oiled. Im going to post a photo here so you know what Im talking about. Whatever my previous supplier was selling as premium grade didnt come close to the quality of this wood and they are well known in Orange County for having really quality wood. I needed a small amount of mixed IPE, cumuru and garapa for my outdoor diy shower project. Advantage lumber will not allow you to select out pieces, BAD! Ganahl or Jones did not have any cumuru nor did an outlet near Portland ore. Brazillian Lumber had all 3, plus very nice figured stock, great prices too. Ganahl lumber was ugly non figured and higher price. Aharon and staff was very friendly and helpful. Possibly the best place to buy Brazilian lumber on the entire west coast. The Garapa is this very beautiful blond hardwood to mix in with the darker tones or by itself. 5 stars is not high enough. They are fairly new so hopefully they can add some sturdy lumber racks along wall. They also have composite lumber. Any and all contractors, builders DIY er's and architects should know about this place. read more

Absolutely the best place in socal for all of your tropical hardwood needs. Just built a small deck with 5/4x6 cumaru sourced from BL. Their prices can't be beat locally. The selection is also great. They have all the major hardwood species. I chose cumaru b/c it has all the great characteristics of ipe but is pretty much half the cost. Plus the graining and color has a little more character than ipe. The quality of the boards is also first rate. No checking, mostly flat and straight, clean and relatively smooth milling. If you are local do yourself a favor and stop by the Gardena warehouse and talk to Aharon. His customer service is top notch and he'll do his best to make things right. I had a small issue with my order, which he went above and beyond to correct. The absolute best part of BL is that they will allow you to cherry pick your boards. Very few yards will allow this. I hand selected all 50 boards for color and graining and Aharon was very accommodating allowing me as much time as needed to do so. Just be courteous and restack them nicely afterwards. I will definitely be returning to BL for all my other hardwood projects. read more
