Standard size windows are smaller than other places like Home Depot. As a result of getting Contractors Warehouse windows, I ended up having to buy all new mini blinds for my windows, as my existing mini blinds were now too big, by almost 2 inches. If I had known I would have ordered special size windows by at least 2 inches bigger for every window, but realistically 4 inches larger would have been comparable to what I had. read more

Stopped by to check inventory on an entry door ... French doors and retrofit windows. We are renovating a rental property since our tenant has moved out. Picked up some GFCI circuit outlets the garbage bags. Stopped three guys on the floor who work for HD to ask questions about the retrofit windows. I thought they were pretty patient and informative. One fellow was proactive volunteering extra information which I appreciated. We will probably order doors in a day or two... that will run us $1600+1000+700 plus delivery at $165 for the first 20 miles + $1.75 mile beyond that. So 30 miles further are required making it + $52 or $217. I wish I didn't have to ship it so far but all their closer stores are sold out of what we want. I can figure out if we're going to buy anything further from them to have that delivered too? I'm going to probably order my custom retrofit windows elsewhere though. read more

I came in for kitchen cabinets and a bathroom sink for a new construction project. I wasn't sure exactly where to start or what I needed but Jack was SUPER helpful and made all the difference in my experience. He was knowledgeable, patient and proactive in helping me figure out everything I didn't even know I needed. I've been to other HD locations where the employees don't really know much and just kind of brushed me off, but Jack really adds so much value to this business with his expertise and attentiveness. For the third time within a month, I've had horrible customer service. This morning was was the worst! Cashier named "Benny" was so rude and disrespectful! I purchase thousands of dollars at this establishment and this cashier completely ignored me, as I was asking her a question. Benny rather talk to the person in-line after me. Decent store with fair prices. Stock is limited in some sections because the store is on the smaller side. They carry doors, cabinets, lumber, sinks, countertop, household tools, and many other items. Parking may be partially blocked by some large trailers, and rental trucks. But there is a private lot and street parking as well. Employees are very helpful with finding what you need. read more

I want begin by mentioning this was my first time to this HD Supply in Gardena on Thursday 03/01 early evening. I usually frequent the location close to my home but I needed a few things for a weekend project and this is very convenient on my way home. Upon entering I was warmly greeted and made my way down the aisles and had no idea where my needed item's were located. A nice young man asked me "do you need assistance" of course I said yes. These are folks who really take pride in their job. Not only did he point me to the right aisle he took the time to walk me over and show me exactly where the product(s) were located. I got my products and on the way to check out I was greeted by two more employees, talk about great service. At check out I was assisted by Natalie who was so nice asking me "how is your evening going tonight" and "did you find everything you needed" I was so impressed with this store that I decided to do this Yelp. My husband walked into HD Supply today to order a door from Escon. He contacted the company and said he could order the exact door we wanted from HD Supply. When he arrived at HD Supply he showed them the brochure we had, and was advised to look at what they had in stock. He told them he knew what he wanted, and knows it has to be special ordered. The woman said it would be more expensive to order than to just buy what they had in stock. My husband understands that, this is our front entry door, and we want that door from Escon. Too bad no one wanted to take time to special order it, We went to Lowe's, and bammm they gave us the estimate right away!!! We bought two French patio doors from HD Supply. While installing the doors, I noticed some of the panel locks were not locking correctly which left the doors unsecure. I called the store to let them know about the defective parts. One of the reps said they would have to order the locks. After a week of waiting for the parts (and sleeping without working locks), one of the managers, Seepa, called me to let me know the parts came in. However, the wrong parts showed up! I was very upset (so upset that I vowed never to shop there again), but Seepa was very patient and did everything possible to solve the problem. Thank you Seepa for your kindness and outstanding customer service! I will always shop at this HD Supply knowing Seepa is there. read more

Management or any type of training for the employee's is out of the question here. Your lucky to find one person here who knows where anything is at. Thats after you explain to them what a 16 penny nail is. And forget about PR skills, that doesn't exist here either. Corporate really needs to step in here an run this joint. I have been remodeling my house for the last year and a half, and during this time, I have shopped at HD Supply many times. And let me be one of many people to say I love their products and their superior customer service! Seepa, one of the managers, always goes above-and-beyond to help me. Currently, I am changing all 14 interior doors of my house. The doors I chose seem to be very popular because every time a new shipment of doors comes in, they run out quickly. Seepa has been keeping me informed of new shipment dates for specific sized doors so I don't come into the store for nothing. I have installed 10 out of 14 doors, so far, and they look great. Very disappointed. The staff didn't offer any assistance. Went in to see some cabinets and when we asked if we could have a cart the associate told us to "go get one in the front". Then when I went up to the front, one of their cashiers moved a cart and hurt my ankle. She didn't apologize or even cared. They do have quality products but the staff needs some customer service training. And it's not like they were extremely busy. 4 cashiers up at the front and just gossiping without acknowledging customers walking in. This place is no Home Depot! Some of their items are cheaper like some of their base and crown moldings, but their service here sucks! The workers are not friendly at all and when entering or leaving the building, they don't greet you, just someone that stands at the door looking like they're not doing anything. read more

This is like a big warehouse that has everything that Home Depot has but usually at a cheaper price. The service isn't as good as Home Depot because it's very hard to get someone to answer your questions. You pretty much have to find what you need on your own. This place cannot be compared to Home Depot because they have everything you need for home improvement with cheaper prices and bigger selection. Each aisle is dedicated to your project and everything you need to get it done. They rent all kinds of machines and tools, and have a section of clothes to meet your need also. Andrea Vernon, should be a Merriam Webster recognized adjective meaning excellent! My husband always sends me to this location to place orders for delivery, he has lots of projects, and Andrea Vernon is always incredibly helpful. On my last visit, I needed 30 boxes of TNT 2 in 1 topping whatever that is, and corner bead and drywall tape, when I went to the aisle where it was located, it looked like they were out of the TNT. That's when Andrea stepped in, she looked on the computer, checked inventory and located a whole pallet for me. She facilitated my order, set me up for delivery and really guided me through finishing my order, which consisted of a bunch of other stuff. This is just one situation - I go all of the time. Whenever I go and need help, and Andrea is there, she always goes way above to ensure I'm getting the assistance I need. Her product knowledge, is making me look really good, my husband thinks i know what I'm doing. Hope he doesn't see this read more

The staff is always exceptionally helpful. I use this location often, the prices are good but what brings me back is the customer service. They are always willing to help resolve any problems I might have. Nataly Araiza, one of the hds reps is very effective and incredibly efficient with regard to facilitating sales orders for delivery, big or small. She makes it really easy...I don't really have time to go through the store to make my order. Whenever I need to place an order Nataly, is able to help me complete it by looking at my order history and allowing me to order the same materials, with all of the accurate specifications and I don't have to remember, the details, and she's fast. Her efficiency makes my life easier. Really the whole staff is great. In this biz...getting materials to the job site is always urgent and sometimes an emotional experience. Poor selection, employee attitudes, disorganized shelves, mislabeled items, employees are busy chatting and having coffee instead of helping customers find items. One employee rolled her eyes when I asked her to send someone from electrical. That was no help so I went to the front to ask for someone from electrical. I was told they would send someone. After 15 minutes I gave up and went to pay my order. The cashier that I paid was coincidentally the one who said she would send someone. I told her I'd been waiting and instead of apologizing she turned to the next cashier and said "it's going to be one of those days". So I got the attitude instead of the apology. Don't bother with this HD Supply, go to either of the nearby Home Depots down the street either in Gardena or Compton. They have much better selection, prices, customer service, and organized shelves. I remodel several homes at a time and spend 10s of thousands of dollars at the big box stores every year. This particular store will not be seeing any of that. If you absolutely need to shop at HD Supply go to any of the other ones. The one off of Paramount and the 91 fwy has much better customer service and is much better organized. read more
