Shame on Home Depot! They are throwing away healthy, hardy vegetable pants and flowers . I asked the workers if I could buy them and the answer was no. And they cannot give them away. The company only wants to get rid of them by trashing them. They said they were too overgrown. Why don't they set them up so the public can save them with discounted price. Absolutely no one in this entire facility has any knowledge of anything. They can't even tell you the day of the week, if you were to ask them. Save yourself the frustration and head down the hill (they think you won't and therefore they treat you however they want). Just do it. Gary in the paint department rocks!!! We just got siding done on our house and were a little lost. We did a trip to try to figure out what we were up to, and Gary was very helpful on advising which ourdoor paints would protect our house the best. Our next visit we brought the old paint and he was able to find the formula and save it to our account. He got us going on a big bucket of good paint, and also helped us understand rollers verses pads. He was so helpful both times!! He seemed knowledgeable, helped us understand what we needed both times. Fantastic job! read more

Just got saved by the cashier (Art). Went to buy a 50 feet of chain in a box. It looked right to me, but not Art. Art encouraged me to measure the chain, sure enough, it was 32 feet. Without Arts attention to detail, years of experience knowing, i would have gotten home and been upset upon finding out someone cut the chain and i was 18 feet short. Buying the chain, and hook ends and assembling a binder chain, saved me another $50 over buying premade chain from the place across the street. Thank you ART! read more

I went today to purchase plywood. It is right behind the self checkout. I was struggling to get the plywood down and on to the cart, my intent was to purchase 10 sheets. Anyways after struggling to get 6 sheets loaded I was still suprised no store employees even asked if I needed help. I even had one employee walk right past me while I was wrestling the plywood. So I guess my reccomendation is take someone that can help if you have something heavy. I don't understand why people don't help out, I have helped many folks load thier lumber. My order was a special order that HD uses a vendor to fulfill, the product was Straw Wattles. What came was wrong and details made the delivery happen before knowing the product was wrong. It took a long time to correct and was a bit inconvienent for me, but, Vicky the Pro Desk person handled the issue very well. Again, the error was not HomeDepot, it was the vendor. I was glad the good ole insult to injury syndrome did not happen, Vicky was ontop of the problem all the way to the end having good results. read more

Don't ever ever have this Hope Depot location install anything. They hire only outside contractors and they hire the worst ones. When you call them to tell them about something wrong with the contractor: ie. they are late or won't call back or did terrible work, the do nothing to help. I have used them for multiple things, because Tehachapi is a small town so they are the only choice, but they have messed up each time. Buy the item then hire your own person if you can't do it yourself. It will be worth the extra you may have to pay to get it done right! read more

PAM!!!! YOU WERE AMAZING HELP TONIGHT! Went in tonight for an emergency replacement of my oven. I knew this was going to be A pricey and scary ordeal. Ham offered us assistance right away. She was friendly and fast. Helped us find 2 models that were actually in stock and ready to go. She quickly recruited help to gather items and get the necessary muscle to crate them up front. She followed us up and was are cashier and was more than helpful in helping us get the best pricing! I've never been so happy to hand over my money . I always dread my trips to home depot and tonight I found myself not only thankful for Pam but looking forward to going back to see her again! I realize I'm in Tehachapi and as much as I try to keep an open mind, I'm reminded every time I go to Home Depot self check out when the ladies insist on ringing all of my stuff up for me to 'make sure I have my quantities right' and never do it for anyone else before or after me. I don't get more then a dozen pieces of lumber at a time. I can scan it all just fine, hence going to self check out. The ladies in the garden center are fantastic. Help in lumber is great. Otherwise this would be a 1 star. It's really sad. In the past few months I've spent thousands there. I'd rather do a pick up order in Lancaster then go there. read more

I ordered a refrigerator and a washer/dryer combo. It all started in the store. I approached a young lady for assistance she had me at hello. She greeted me, welcomed me and helped me on the spot. She was one of the managers Ms. Alejandra. After I gave her a brief description of what I was looking for she immediate had a nice selection for me.After a few minutes Patty from appliances came in and she took over. She made the transaction easy and my expectations went beyond, Patty made the process easy to understand and explained in detail the benefits of my appliances. Amana stainless steel side by side refrigerator, and Whirlpool washer/dryer. I applied for the Home Depot credit card! Yay! Charged the purchase received an additional $100 off. To conclude, Ms. Danielle wrap it up! Explained my return and delivery options. Very cheerful and professional. My appliances were available for delivery on the 1st of July, I placed the order on the 29th of June, Amazing! Delivery was on point, Jose and his partner were on time, they took care of my appliances unwrapping them, and installing them. Thank you so much. Excellent job TEAM. I just purchased my first home. Husband called and requested a replacement and had said I have spent quite a bit of money there so I would like it replaced, the representative said; I don't see how you live in an apartment.... so do they discriminate against people who live in apartments? As with every location of this chain I've been to, you can never find anything and there is never anyone to help you. About the only thing this location has going for it is it's large parking lot - but let's be honest, there is not actually a parking shortage in Tehachapi so... yeah. Store did appear to be clean and well stocked but the disorganized lay-out of all these stores and the lack of customer service so common at any Home Depot make this a "miss". read more

Update 11/2019 - bought 4 outdoor light bulbs yesterday and wanted to exchange the bulbs for the soft white and they told me that it was non returnable even with a receipt. I hate this store with a passion. Just drove 60 miles round trip from cal city. Spoke to the associate on the phone at 9 :34 and explained I was going to be a few minutes late. He brought the gloves up to the front register at customer service. When I got there at 10:04 they turned me away. Told me they were sorry, 2 lousy pairs of rubber gloves. I really try to like this store, but i just wonder why I keep coming back. I wonder why I waste my time coming here. Any of the larger Home Depots would have obliged. These associates are to worried about staying three minutes late... I even mentioned to Matt the MOD that I spoke to the associate. No luck. read more

We We're just at the Home Depot on 20th St. in Lancaster Ca. There was a long line as expected this time of year, but what I did not expect is that credit card customer support out of line to goAhead of us that were paying cash. Fully 10 people were pulled out of the line behind me so that they could pay and leave while I and my wife both in our late 60's Had to stand and wait even longer than necessary. This is bullshit this is incredible bullshit make all people wait in line because they use cash!! We have two accounts with this sore in his shop there for more than 15 years. We are considering canceling all of our credit and never setting foot in the door again. read more

I have had multiple bad experiences with their 3rd party vendors and professional services - once the purchase is made Home Depot is unwilling to accept any responsibility. Lesson learned, unfortunately multiple times, and I will stick with local professionals, even if slightly more expensive, for better transparency and customer service. Inside the store customer service has been hit or miss over the years, completely dependent on the individual employee, their willingness to help, and whether or not you can actually find someone based on their staffing. read more

Very unhappy with this store. Ordered a swamp cooler and motor through HomeDepot.com and received an email the order was in on April 27th. Went to pick it up and it wasn't there. Mistakes happen. I was told it would be there May 2nd, so I arranged for my installer to be there the following Saturday. Come May 3rd, it wasn't there. I was told it's sitting somewhere in Bakersfield and I would need to wait another week. I asked why someone couldn't get it from Bakersfield. I was told by Katie she would look into that and call me back. She didn't, instead she went home. I asked someone else who told me to call an 800 number. Why am I calling 800 numbers? I'm not an employee. I didn't make the mistake. Each time I called back I was met with someone who would "look into it". I finally called the 800 number and the employee asked if I would be willing to go to Bakersfield and pick it up if he gave me a partial refund. I agreed to it and called the Tehachapi store and asked where in Bakersfield I need to go. I was told "They can't release the cooler to you". I will have to wait for it to be delivered to Tehachapi the following week. It's my cooler. I paid for it. Why can't I have it? I cancelled my order. I went to Lowes in Lancaster and bought the same cooler which will be delivered the following day. They went out of their way to help me. The cooler is just the beginning of an extensive remodel with a $20K budget. Guess where I am spending it now? The cooler was testing the waters and Home Depot Tehachapi failed miserably. When I called to try to get a copy of the apartment measurements for a carpet installation I had paid for the woman at the carpet dept told me I could not have it. The deal was that if they measured and I didn't order I would pay them $50 but if I went ahead the cost would be absorbed into the total charge. Either way I paid, right? So I call them up- I am batted around for 20 mins before the call is disconnected. I callback and am again disconnected. So I decide to ask for Tim Perez the manager- I get Savanah who says she is the assistant manager. Again she repeats that I cannot have the measurements and when I state my case she hangs up on me!!!! Tehachapi Home Depot (at least the carpet dept) are weasels from hell and clearly have a culture where the customer as an inconvenience. read more

Left the store because despite having signs at every entrance saying masks are mandatory, at least 50% (if not more) of the customers walking around were not wearing masks and no Home Depot employees were doing anything about it. They were talking with them, helping them, etc., but I did not see a single employee try to enforce the mask rule. read more

The only reason I even go to this store anymore is if I have to have something immediately....that's even if they have it. After buying a ThermaTru exterior prehung french door from them that warped and leaks like a sieve....ThermaTru and HomeDepot wouldn't back their warranty. DON'T EVER BUY ANYTHING ThermaTru SELLS!!! Funny thing is, now HD doesn't carry them anymore....too many problems. Then I purchased 140 pieces of Hardie Plank (12 footers)...they have it on a rack well over head and I have bad shoulders. After loading about 60 by myself (several employees walked by during this) I'd had enough and asked for help....lol...no wonder there's a lot of beat up pieces on the shelves. The guy they sent over, I don't think he realizes that these cement fiber planks are not easy to handle when you are doing it overhead. He broke the first two and acted irritated that he was having to do it. My last trip,I had spent about 45 mins sorting through 2x4's, 2x8's and 2x10's trying to find some lumber I could use (about 50% I couldn't). After spending all that time, I had some other stuff I needed like screws, nails, paint and other miscellaneous things, so I left my cart in the wide lumber isle and went after my other needed items. To my surprise, when I got back my cart was nowhere to be found. I asked around and finally someone said that they thought it was abandoned and they put the lumber back. I will drive to Bakersfield to go to Lowe's rather than put up with this store any longer. To those that say something about wearing a mask....stay home if you are afraid. This is still America and there is no law stating you have to wear one. When there is, I'll be a criminal because I can't stand wearing one. read more

I moved from Los Angeles to Tehachapi and never had great experiences with the Home Depot in Los Angeles. I am so impressed with how nice and helpful the staff is here! I will admit that not everyone is trained in plumbing, electrical, etc., which would be nice, but everyone I have met has gone above and beyond to help me find what I need, and even bring my elderly mother a chair without us even asking! We are renovating our whole house, so I have had special orders and MANY returns, and will keep coming us. read more

If I could award negative stars for delivery, I would. I ordered a refrigerator in mid- August, it's now mid- Sept and I still have yet to get our refrigerator! We have had 3 unsuccessful attempts at delivery! I even had a customer support manager support me about filing a complaint. (She actually tried on several times to help me ~ what does that tell ya?!?) I have spent much of MY OWN time trying to have our REFRIGERATOR Delivered to no avail! I could have been doing the things that I need to do, but nooooooo! I must deal with the incompetence of these people who can't get their job done properly! Alas, I am currently on a "3-5 min" (BS! This is nothing against Home Depot as a store, I find your staff to be wonderful and the store is always stocked with the things I need! This 1 star review is due to a rather unfriendly critter that hitched a ride home from the store in Tehachapi. My mother works at Home Depot and informed me that there were camel spiders who call this store home. And when she came home tonight, she brought a hitch hiker home with her. A gigantic camel spider. This arachnoid was massive, and though I know their bite is not poisonous, it is extremely painful and I would prefer not to be gnawed on by that critter. I hope that this location takes measures to relocate these insects or fumigates the store to protect customers and staff from bringing home a newly unwanted pet.
