Beware when you return items. According to the woman at the return desk, Home Depot doesn't exchange items, they only refund and you have to buy product again, even if it's the same item. I bought my wife a pair of garden gloves for $8.47 but they were too small. Since I couldn't exchange for a larger size, I had to get a refund, then pay the "new" higher price of $9.97. Guess I should have run back to HD the same day. Oh well, lesson learned. read more

We came in looking for a certain storm door and an auto change thermostat. We were able to find both very easily. Not only are the rows and aisles labeled very clearly but the employees are very helpful. When we were in the door section we ran into Elena, while she was getting an order ready, who was very friendly and kind. I always find the pricing to be very reasonable here and they even had a value section including some $0.99 paper towel rolls. Always a solid place to go for projects. read more

I did not have a great experience here at Home Depot on Friday. I came here to shop for outdoor plants on Wednesday and had a great time. My husband, kids, and I came back on Friday to get soil. My husband checked out and went to the car. I went to the bathroom. I used a cart to push around my 8 month old in a carrier since he's too heavy. I am 11 weeks pregnant and it's been complicated. I am on a weight restriction now. I headed out to the car pushing my baby and my cart locked up when I passed the self check out. I didn't have anything in my cart expect my child. I tripped and my stomach hit the handle bar and I turned around to all the workers watching me and one man at the exit told me my cart will not be going anywhere. I took my baby, left the cart and went to my car. Mind you my husbands cart that we got from the same spot went to the car perfectly fine. I'm not sure why it would have done that unless they assumed I was stealing. I'm very disappointed and frustrated with this. read more

Absolutely horrible. You can NEVER get anyone on the phone, you have "Lead" cashiers telling customers that they are "Managers" and no one EVER knows what's going on. I purchased an $850 dishwasher about 4 months ago - that broke down. No one EVER answers in the appliance department and when I finally did get a manager on the line, the employees acted like I was interrupting their break! Setup a service call - only for the WRONG technician to be sent out to my house, which wasted an ENTIRE work-day that I took off to be home. Do yourself a favor and NEVER purchase an appliance from Home Depot. Their level of service is terrible and customers are treated poorly. read more

I end up here far more than I ever wanted to. Owning a home is such a blessing and a curse. I miss watching sports on my couch all weekend... But alas, since purchasing our first home about a year-and-a-half ago, my wife and I have been here so many times. We keep comparing Lowe's and HD, and end up at Home Depot because the service is so much better. I mean...remarkably better. The staff know where just about every nut and bolt (and every other random thing you may need) is off the top of their head. It's amazing. Prices are fair. The garden center usually has lovely stuff. And, despite the fact that it can be incredibly busy, it's usually fairly easy in and out. read more

Home Depot must have listened to the complaints about customer service that were going around a few years back. The last several times I've been in there have been knowledgeable workers available for any questions I might have. Many times someone will ask if I need anything or even just say "hi how's it going" I used to hate going in to Home Depot because there was such a lack of customer service; I'm glad to see those days are no longer! I like Home Depot for their plants and outdoor equipment. They have a great selection of plants and I buy most of my vegetation here. I also bought a new toilet here and they were very friendly. All of their employees really know the store very well and you can pretty much ask anyone for a specific item and they can tell you exactly where it is, which is pretty impressive. The only thing I don't like here is their paint department and selection. When I have come to do a color match it seems like it's a big chore for the people here. I couldn't stand it this last time and went straight to Lowe's. Other than that, if it is something other than paint I will usually come here and get whatever I need to get the job done. read more

Well, Home Depot used to be my second home. I was always finding projects to do for my house and they were my go to store. I like them over other stores of their kind because I think like a contractor. They have knowledgable people when I have questions. I like the products they carry, and they have what I need to get the job done. Most recently I've purchased paint, a cabinet refinishing product, reasonably priced replacement faucets for my bathrooms, and caulk. I also bought half my bedding plants this spring from HD. I laugh every time they say come back. Of course I will return...home improvements are in my blood. Somehow I don't think my home will ever be finished. read more

If you know what you need and where to find it this is a great location. If not hope you get a helpful employee or one that isn't too busy to help you. Normally I am lucky and get help locating things when I need help. Once in a while I get sent all over the store by people who have no where things are. They have a good selection of whatever you need for home goods, building materials, etc. If you need something cut or help with how to complete something they are generally good in this area. I have found the associates are very area specific so look for the ones who are working that area, don't grab someone walking by. They seem better educated than the other home improvement store in the area and the prices are good. With spring coming this is usually my go to place for a lot of planting needs. You can get pretty much everything here and the plants are good quality. read more

I would strongly discourage anyone from buying appliances or anything else at this store. I purchased appliances at the Home Depot on Strang Road in Olathe using my debit card on April 12, 2018. I decided to return them which is when the nightmare began. After dealing with several associates and finally the assistant manager no one seemed to be able to figure out how to do a refund on a debit card. I was finally told that I would just have to wait for a refund check in the mail, which could take up to 21 days. Needless to say I was very unhappy about this. The next day the assistant manager called and said that he would expedite the check and I would have it by April 18. I still have not received my refund. I am now dealing with corporate but no one seems concerned about this debacle. I'm sure if I owed them a large amount of money it would be a much different story. read more

I went to Home Depot in Olathe last week on Thursday. I purchased a washer, dryer, and a dishwasher. All three were to be installed. The earliest date was for this week on Wednesday with them calling Tuesday night to give me a 4 hour window of time. No call Tuesday. I called them Wednesday somehow they lost my number but then scheduled it for Thursday from 3 to 7. They came at 8 on Thursday night. The dishwasher was installed and checked. I tried to do a long needed load of laundry this morning and alas the washer will not fill with water. I called them at 9 am was disconnected twice sat on hold for over 30 minutes and finally it was everyone else's fault they could come check it next Wednesday or have the washing machine company bring a replacement next Thursday. Three more phone calls and they may or may not be here next Thursday. Not one apology. read more

Purchased 2 gallons of paint over the weekend and the lid was not secured on one of the cans. It tipped over during transport home and the entire gallon dumped out in the back of my SUV. The customer service was not sympathetic at all and never even offered an apology. I was calm and never raised my voice but it was very upsetting to have this happen and more upsetting how they handled it. They said I would have to fill out a form for their claims person and then told me some ways I could clean it up myself. They said I should be able to get it cleaned up with a shop vac if its still wet. Thanks guys, really helpful (NOT). Guess I will be having my car detailed and the carpet replaced and sending them the bill. read more

Tried to order carpet, kept getting automated calls saying my order was ready to be picked up, even though i specified delivery, and yet 2 weeks later still no carpet. Cant get a refund until they physically recieve the carpet, but no one knows where it is. Im damn sure not paying the restocking fee and will not be shopping here again. read more

We purchased a french door, freezer on the bottom, refrigerator and had it delivered to Ottawa. Fifteen years ago we bought our last refrigerator so shopping for a new one, there was a lot to consider. The salesman that we spoke to was informative and we felt, honest. We left to think about the one we had chosen and came back with the decision to buy it. We were taken care of by a newer employee that did a great job. She told us that we could purchase the refrigerator on a 1-year, no finance deal if we wanted and that's what we did. She signed us up for a Home Depot charge card, did some details and we were good to go. We love those kinds of deals because they help us so much when they are paid off... no interest charge! When the two delivery men handled our refrigerator they did such a great job. We've had deliveries before and many times the guys had an attitude of "let's get it in there, get the job done, and get going." Not these two gentlemen! They actually cared about making sure the fridge was handled correctly and took enough time to handle it safely for themselves not to get hurt. They worked very well together, communicating constantly while carrying the fridge so as not to bump into the door frame, etc. They cared about our front door (removed and replaced it carefully) and after they placed the fridge where it should go, one of them removed the plastic cover -- and swiped a little fingerprint off! (what?? -Lol!) They showed such good customer service and calmed any anxiety of the whole ordeal from start to finish. The delivery men were very pleasant and friendly and showed that they cared about customer satisfaction. We were pleased from start to finish. We love the fridge! read more

I was at home depot a couple of weeks ago...I had a horrible, crappie rude customer service experience with a manager there!! He's name is Craig with the bald head!! I asked him if he would help me with a propane purchase...and he told me that he was too busy to help me and find someone else to help me!! I could not believe my ears!! He was so rude, unfriendly and unprofessional and flat out ugly to deal with at the time...I complain to another associate and another manager on duty too. and I will never shop at that olathe, Kansas store ever again!!! Eddie, the Assistant Manager, at this location is completely worthless when it comes to Customer Service. A new girl didn't completely shut the lids (and though she is at fault, it's an honest mistake when learning) to some paint I purchased and it completed emptied in the back of my mom's SUV before we even made it home. I called and was directed to her; all she told us was to clean it up. Even after telling her that I was moving to a new apartment with NOTHING (as in, zero possessions), she said to go to a car wash and use quarters for a vacuum. All I expected was an apology, to be refunded for the can of paint and maybe some assistance in cleaning up the mess that DESTROYED my mother's vehicle, but no. We did not get any of that. Yes, they did not even refund the can of paint. This is worse -- the guys working in the paint department (who were super awesome, sympathetic and helpful) asked if she was going to take a shopvac to help us clean it up. I responded with "no, she seems pretty useless" and they looked at each other, smiled and gave me an indication that I hit the nail right on the head. She doesn't command the respect of her employees, is awful at customer service, and should not be in her position. Eddie, how hard is it to apologize for an error that happened on your watch? You completely destroyed my move, and my only time with my mother (whom I hadn't seen in a year). I will never be going here. Ever. read more

Took me 40 minutes to find a single tool. I asked an employee, he said he was going to ask the person in charge of the area and he never came back. Asked another person, he had a look like he didn't know what I was talking about. Saw first employee, and he acted like he never talked to me. So finally I asked a cashier, and she asked for someone to come down, and this guy was able to find me, took him one minute to, not sure why the other 3 employees totally ignored me. read more
