I spoke with Olathe Glass in late March to get a quote for custom shower glass. When the contractor completing the bath remodel had the tile installed, I contacted Olathe Glass to schedule an appointment for measuring. I was told someone would call me to schedule and was asked for and made a payment for 50% down on 9/8/22. No one called to schedule the measure appointment. I called back. On this call, I was told that the person I was speaking to had been out of the office the previous day (presumably to explain a lack of communication for the prior week?) and after that bit of derision directed at me for having the gall to call about this, we were able to schedule the measure appointment. The measure was completed - the person was in a HUGE hurry..... so questions were discouraged... I then did not hear back to schedule the actual installation (I know, surprising right?), so.... I called Olathe Glass. I was told the installation would be 10/11/22 between 8:30-10:00. At 8:15 the morning of 10/11 - yes 8:15 AM - I received a call telling me that the glass was not in and had been backordered. Apparently there was no way to know this prior to 15 minutes before the scheduled install. Weird. On this call, I was told that I would receive a call when more information was available to reschedule the installation. I received no additional information concerning estimated delay, etc.... until I received a call to reschedule the installation for 11/2/22. On this call, I was told that it would "probably" be in the afternoon. So, when I asked, to confirm, if it was possible that it would be morning because it didn't seem definitive, I was told, in a most derogatory tone "I apologize that I used the word 'probably'.... it will be in the afternoon." Wow. The installers showed up on 11/2 and did a really nice job. The installers themselves could not have been nicer. It is 11/3/22, the day after the installers were here. I see that Olathe Glass has charged the remaining 50% to my credit card without confirming with me that the job was done to my satisfaction etc... - so it appears that the thing that Olathe Glass does best is getting their money into their bank account FAST! So, long story short - if you can get through the administrative piece of this company, you will get a nice product, but prepare yourself for battle up front. read more

We typically get ideas for our home decorating by paying this business a visit. They also installed our bathroom shower doors that we love for their simplicity and great look. The double pane window glass in four of my home windows had fogged up. I had a LOT of trouble finding businesses to provide a quote to replace the glass, and the only one that responded was crazy expensive. I'm handy enough to remove the fogged glass and replace it with new, so I worked with Olathe Glass to measure them and get replacements ordered. The new glass arrived in about two to three weeks for a fraction of the cost of new windows and also the cost of installed replacement glass. At the same time, I was looking to get new shower glass installed in a remodeled bathroom. Jarod came out to measure and design the shower enclosure and sent a quote. Based on my experience with Olathe Glass, I accepted the offer. A few weeks later, Jarod and his helper came by and installed the shower glass. Jarod is a true craftsman and fussed to make sure everything was perfect. We're thrilled with the results and recommend Olathe Glass to our friends and family. read more

Not only does this store make custom glass and mirrors, but they have a boutiquey showroom, and the main color is green! I have shopped with Olathe Glass at shows and in the store for decor and shower doors over the past 15 years. Usually a good to decent experience but today I had the worst customer service experience and will never buy from them again. Item I was buying rang up less than the ticket price but the cashier would not honor the price and went into the system to manually change the price. It was only $5.00 but she was so rude and nasty. It was insulting since I had just spent $150 at the Holiday show in their booth. Im not certain but this action could be illegal it was for sure unethical. We are getting ready to remodel our master bath and I sure won't buy my $2000 shower door from them. read more

Very disappointing that four of the five women checking me out today weren't wearing masks. I won't go again anytime soon, & I'm letting everyone else I know that shops there & is concerned about safety with regards to the virus. We have purchased tempered glass for a desktop and a custom mirror from Olathe Glass. Had some issues with some sizing, but they took care of it. Good place but they have a bad flow in their space. The customer space is cramped yet behind the counter is open. They need a bigger space. read more

I ordered custom cut to measured shower doors. I paid $200 more that big box stores to shop local and have custom cut. I borrowed truck to pick up at Olathe glass and brought home assuming they were cut to measurements. They were not cut to my measurement, standard length. I called and told them they were not cut. He said I was welcome to bring back, taking another 90 minutes out of my day, he was not willing to come to me for his mistake. Clearly no concept in customer service. Scott installed my chrome bathtub sliding door today. I am very pleased with the quality of the product itself, and it had been pre-cut to fit based on the estimators information. Scott performed the installation quickly and efficiently and was very conscientious about the quality of his workmanship. The entire process from my first store visit to the installation took only a week. A final thought, the store customer service personnel were helpful and responsive to my product and installation questions. It is a first class operation throughout. read more

From the outside one doesn't expect much, but you're missing out if you don't stop in. Glass section: knowledgeable, helpful & friendly staff. We needed replacement shower door parts & they quickly took care of us & gave useful advise/tips. Home decor section: More items than you expect are in here! Nicely grouped together, lots of selection, looks like good quality. I only have one complaint- the scented candles (or whatever is scented) is overwhelmingly strong. I know some folks like that (obviously from successful stores like Yankee candle), but it cut my group's previous visit short due to getting headaches from the strong scents.
