On this recent visit, I especially want to recognize Mike L. I was working on a church project and, not being creative, was stuck regarding how to fix ribbons to a pole. He showed me several displays of hardware around the store that might serve my needs. After looking in three different areas, we found exactly the right item! And then I needed an enzymatic drain cleaner, and he walked me through the specifics of the various brands for sale, going through the details until we found just the right one for my needs. I've brought my pup in here as she continues to need some socialization and it always goes well. One time the clerks had their dog too and they became fast friends. This store really packs quite a bit into it. Of course it won't be as sizable as a Home Depot, but man oh man is the experience world's better. I found every single thing on my list which was great. It's closest size comparison to me would be the Ace in Westport, but hey guess what, you don't have to fear for your life in KC's worst intersection if you come here! It's easy to park in the lot out front, off of the always-busy 75th Street. My kids love it because they have a gumball machine, whoopie cushions, and other classics from back in the day when the world was making real attempts to be fun. I think I might even go out of my way again to come back to this spot more regularly.. nice place.

An additional person opened up ask the line grew and I asked about return policy and if he knew about how or if the light bulbs could be replaced if possible. He informed of the store's return policy and advised me he was unaware about the product. I was asked if I was a Westlake reward member, I am not. He proceeded to check me out. After paying I asked what it takes to be a member, he said I could go online and I'd get an email with a $10 coupon. Otherwise he said we'd have to start a new transaction. after making an online order and receiving confirmation of it being pulled and ready, I showed up…read moreto the store to pick it up and find one of the items incorrect. after taking it back into the store, I was told that they currently didn't have the correct item in stock ,me explaining that it showed three currently in stock at that store. at that point I was.informed that it was obviously a mistake. But they would get one ordered in for me in short term.. my explaining that I had a crew on the job site , waiting for the materials that had already been paid for, yet unable to deliver. Knowing that the crew would still have to be compensated for their time. I asked to speak to the manager to express my frustrations.. with zero compassion he proceeded to play on his PC for about five minutes to inform me that it was in fact, correct that they didn't have one in store, but if given a little bit of time, he could possibly find one in store. After waiting approximately 15-20 more minutes I requested that the full order just be returned. ,at this point, I was informed of the fact that the money that I had paid shopping online to purchase the materials that were in stock wouldn't be returned to me for five days. leaving me with the financial obligation of paying my crew a minimum of one hour of labor but having to send them home do to no materials and having to come out of pocket to pay for the materials that I had already paid for on a confirmed purchase from Menards. The store managers sarcasm, and lack of compassion is compounded by my financial loss due to Menards mistake. I'm not in search of full compensation of my loss, but the sarcasm was definitely not welcomed. I'm not that ever write reviews, but this was constituted.
