Best place in Manteca for getting your home needs. Customer service has always been great here. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I appreciate when someone isn't sure about their answer they will find someone who is more knowledgeable. The selection is pretty good and they always seem to have what I need. Prices are reasonable and not over priced like you might expect. It does t hurt to check Costco though just in case because I have found the same product at a dramatically lower price there depending on the season. read more

The customer service at this location has been improving more and more over time. We love their selection and they often have sales as well, which is nice. The best part though, is how we are treated by the employees! We were greeted at the entrance, and then each section that we were in where there is a designated employee for said section, they looked up and acknowledged us and asked if we needed any assistance. Also, as we were using self check out a very friendly person said that he hopes to see us again, and he genuinely meant it! That was 4 points of connection with employees during one shopping visit. It's kind of a big deal right now because customer service is at a historic low every place we go. It's just not a priority anymore and it makes it hard to want to spend our money, but I'm really grateful that this location is bringing good customer service back (as a standard). Being able to interact easily with the employees and to feel like they want to help (instead of feeling like we're troubling them) is rare and for my family it adds value that goes above and beyond just the products that they sell. We came in on 3/22 at about 2PM, looking for some black rock for our front area. All the black rock was out, so we asked a sales person- Dee, not sure on the spelling, to help us. Do not go to the store. There are rip off. I bought flooring here 2 1/2 years ago was told that it would last for a long time and was pet friendly. That is a lie. All the graining came off the floor. The manufacturer is life proof be careful buyer beware Home Depot is doing nothing to fix the issue. I am now going to take them to court. also bought a shed from them that they had the gentleman measure that works through Home Depot. The shed was 2 inches from my house. Went to get some keys for my truck, one guy made wrong key, other older African American guy came and said we can't make volvo keys and told me to go Batteries Plus which is 30 plus miles back and forth, I told him I've gotten keys in past for my volvo truck and another older gentleman helped me and made 8 keys for my truck. When I asked him is there anyone else who can help me with that, he said he's the senior here and no one can help me and even told me not to touch and go through the keys there. That was super rude and that guy was too lazy to work and had no sense of responsibility and urgency. Maybe it's time to quit. read more

I told them I'm making a large purchase and could they bring the racks up front for me then? Now they told me again to find my own cart. So my husband walked off to go find a flat cart while the two young men stood there talking about their Thursday night tomorrow when they all go out to party and who should drive! Don't rent a carpet cleaner from them. All it does is leave your carpets soaking wet and doesn't even clean the carpets. Tried to talk to home depot about it because we thought we had a defective carpet cleaner (used theirs before and worked well). They refused to help or make it right. Told use we could just rent the machine again... right. Let's rent the defective machine again. Over all rude and not helpful. Save your money and go elsewhere. My parents and I went in yesterday to look for some blinds. We brought back in the vertical blinds my parents had purchased couple days ago to get them shortened. Shoutout to Jackie from the blinds department - she is phenomenal! She took the time to help me and parents with any questions we had. She is very knowledgeable in what she does and very professional. I felt bad going back and forth asking her so many questions but she was happy to help us. The customer service here is just out-of-control bad. Every time I come in here, I ask simple questions and I get the most rude and disparaging answers. I am now actually afraid to speak to people here because it seems like I am talking to the mob, the DMV or the IRS. I just want to buy stuff? Why am I treated this way? I have not had a specifically bad experience with the Manteca Home Depot but it has not been especially good either. I find them to be slightly less stocked then some other locations such as the West Stockton store or the Modesto store. Finding help if you need it is hit and miss and the employees are not particularly knowledgeable. Do your own research. Then again I do not really expect a big box store employee to be an expert. Lately I have been spending a little bit extra and going to smaller locally owned hardware stores such as zylstra's in Linden and Ace hardware in Escalon. The extra 5 to 10% is worth it for the service in my opinion. I have also been buying other items online when I cannot get them at the smaller stores. This is basically my go-to for construction lumber or other items I cannot at the small store and do not have time for delivery. In short, I give it three Stars which I basically considered to be neutral. read more

If an item is recalled then take it off the floor. I came to the garden register with 2 salt bags. Youngster at the register told us she can't sell the item to us because of a recall. We paid & requested for a different brand be brought to us since it was on the other side of the warehouse. WHY should I walk all the back when management should have removed the recalled item from the floor so that customers are not bringing them up to purchase. We overheard another youngster employee complain to the register that we should go get the bags ourselves. WOW. You expect us to fix your mistake? I don't think so. We have a ryoby trimmer from Home Depot. Ending at the bottom that holds the twine up there broke, and my husband went looking for a part at Home Depot, which they don't have in stock. He goes why don't you? This is one of your products and none of your stores have this site. We have to order it for you and they were supposed to order it for us. Well two weeks later we still don't have the part call the week ago. We have to place the order and it'll come in a few days. So I asked the girl if we can speak to a manager, she called the manager and she didn't want to come down. I told her do your job come and see what we want but she refused to give customer support and it's sad but I told the girl I said shit is always at the top and it runs down so you have poor management at trickles down to you guys getting paid they're getting paid the high bucks and they don't do nothing and I told her I'm sorry for Home Depot. Rented a chipper yesterday. Long list of "terms and conditions " including clean the unit prior to return or else. Got it home and it's not working properly, because it was absolutely jammed up with wood chips. The bolts at the bottom were loose, and the latch for the shoot wouldn't latch properly causing us to fiddle with it during the entire process. So if you rent one, check it out thoroughly. read more

Be careful of every piece of lumbers you buy here at this Manteca Home Depot, I grabbed a bundle exterior siding off the rack and purchased it without inspecting of any scuffs or dings and just go on and went home and used what I needed. And have a few piece leftover and took it back to Home Depot and try to returned it and got refuse to do the returned items and the manager gave me an attitude and sent me off. And while I ask for info to filled a complaint, the woman manager smirk at me with a look and gave me the eyes like go right ahead. That's what happen when places like this that have no real management and let a bunch of kids run the place. Customer service is not that great considering the staff have variable knowledge of their products. It's frustrating sometimes because you want to talk to someone who knows their products. But at the end of the day it's not like they're hiring people who do home improvement and construction for a living. It's hard to find someone to talk to. I think it's because of the number of staff they have available. I usually use the app to locate what I need. I go here or the one in Tracy depending on what I need and availability. The most annoying thing is waiting in line they sit have a clear wait line. People just kind of gather and form a line. If they had signs or something on the floor of where to stand in line would be great. read more

The shelves are picked through like a dirty dollar store, and nothing in stock. I've asked for a manager and had not spoken to one. It's pathetic that Home Depot has products on the shelf that are damaged and not returned to vendors.
