I see alot of bad reviews, everyone has their story, here's my experience. We live in Manteca and our window a/c broke down...were heading towards 113° this weekend so needless to say, not a good time for the a/c to go out. Tried getting info from our local Home Depot, down the road but seems they just didnt have time to answer any of my questions, especially dealing with the Pro Service dept, so..... I actually found an HVAC company that was willing to help out with the install, they don't do window units but they know were in dire situation. I finally found the unit we want and unfortunately, Depot wouldn't have it in until July 9th, way too late!!!! I looked up Lowe's, here in Modesto, and they had a good replacement for the one we were looking for. Customer service was super friendly and very professional helping me out with the questions I had. We purchased the unit online last nite, this morning, it was ready for curbside pick up. They came in within 5 minutes, they loaded it into my truck and away we go!! A HUGE thank you to everyone that helped us out, it was GREATLY appreciated!!!! We will definitely be back, even though our local Home Depot is 2 miles away....customer service is a huge factor for me, people make mistakes but as long as you treat me right, I'll be back!!! read more

This place is completely Terrible. The people that Lowe's uses for delivery is absolutely horrible. Our washer, dryer & refrigerator never showed up after we paid $4300 for. I will NEVER shop at Lowe's again. I purchased a wash machine & delivery was scheduled for 12/3/25 from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm. I made arrangements for someone to be there per this emailed delivery window. The night before at 8:18 pm i received an email that the delivery time changed from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm. That is unacceptable as I am unable to make this change at the last minute. I gave Lowe's a chance & they totally failed. I will continue to shop at Home Depot. We purchased expensive carpet from Lowe's. I was already a bit uncertain about getting our new flooring from a big box store instead of a specialized carpet store but I was totally unprepared to walk in and find that the installers had disassembled a toilet and were using the lid on our BRAND NEW CARPET! I have no idea what someone would have to be thinking to think it is acceptable to drag a toilet lid all over someone's new flooring? My husband and I purchased a new home around Christmas time. The move was to happen after New year so the carpeting could be replaced. We already had an issue with the installation day and time which was January 2nd , due to the 1st being a holiday we did not get any information as to arrival time. I can over look that however I understand their policy is to have notified us on the 31st instead, especially since the house was vacant at the time and we needed to meet them over there.FOR WHATEVER REASON THE INSTALLERS USED A TOILET LID ON OUR BRAND NEW FLOORING AND DRAGGED IT ALL AROUND, ALSO USING IT TO HOLD THERE TOOLS. This is what we found when we went back in the evening to check the progress. I can only assume it was used in all 5 rooms , SO GROSS! Not only did they strewn toilet bacteria all over my new carpet but they removed the door stop from one of the rooms to get the door to open wider and put a hole in the wall with the door handle. Our house had just gotten a complete total home paint job and the walls were in perfect condition. Again with the shady behavior they did not even mention they had put a hole in the wall even accepting a cash tip from my husband! When I contacted Lowe's they sent a rep out to meet with us. I also had my painter present for an estimate on the paint and repair and to verify the home was freshly painted with no damage. The Lowe's rep left stating they would reach back out to us soon. We are now in February with no additional communication from Lowe's. Emails and phone calls to the rep ( I have her name but will respectfully withhold it for now) have gone unanswered and unresponded to . Please trust your gut and do not get flooring from Lowe's unless you want property damage and toilet water strewn about your home. I would have thought that this would have been a priority to them considering possible contamination with fecal matter etc but they do not seam to have any cares whatsoever. I wanted the flooring just torn out so I could go elsewhere as seeing that toilet on the carpet stole my excitement for brand new floors and makes me refuse to walk barefoot on it. However because of the closeness in time to our move in date we had to live in the house and now I hate my carpet and I'm grossed out of the thought of walking on it. What should have been an exciting time of moving into a new home that had been freshly painted and carpeted is instead a disappointing experience with the flooring and with Lowe's response or lack of response and lack of care or concern . As a real estate agent I have many opportunities to recommend products and places to homeowners and I will definitely be telling everyone to stay away from Lowe's ! read more

In town for a couple days from the Bay Area. As plant parent, I HAD to see what types of plants are carried in the Central Valley, home of CA's agriculture. As anticipated, the assortment was abundant and lush. GORGEOUS 3-cane Dracaena White Jewel, $59.98 was decent for the size. I have several spathiphyllums at home but have never seen leaves so large on these peace lilies. Couldn't resist bringing home a few live souvenirs that was also reasonably priced. Staff I interacted with were friendly. Abundant free parking. Centrally located next to Costco and a deliciously wide variety of food offerings in the same plaza. read more

It's too bad Home Depot is not nearby or else we would be going there instead. We had no choice while we were in the neighborhood and decided to come down to Lowe's home improvements. They had the things that we needed, same as every place else, but the dumb part about it is that they closed half of the self check out... None of the registers was open and there was no bag available for customers. After I completed my transaction, I looked at the closed register and they had loads and loads of bags for customers. in addition, my husband is an ex military, and when I completed my transaction and selected an option for military discount, it was a requirement to scan the back of the military card, but if it was Home Depot or any other home-improvement stores, they would just ask for the telephone number and end of that. The worst financial process with Lowe's. We decided not to finance our new kitchen appliances and just pay for them. I used my credit card to get the rewards on the purchase. Lowe's kept sending authorizations to my credit card. I spent $5800 on appliances, but have $10,000 worth of authorizations. It's ridiculous! It looks like I've gone over my credit limit. Then we had to pay individually for installation at the time of the delivery. Lowe's wouldn't accept the credit card they had sent too many authorizations to, so I had to use an additional credit card. And now I have a pending authorization on both credit cards for the same amount. It's a mess. I spent an hour and a half on the phone with Lowe's and spoke with a supervisor. They can't do anything. I have to wait 3-10 days for all of their extra authorizations to drop off my card, hope it all evens out AND I'm not able to use that credit card. I will NEVER work with Lowe's again. read more

Lowe's delivery services are a complete Hot Mess! From the drivers that deliver appliances like refrigerators to the people working to schedule them. We purchased a new fridge and the older delivery man had a funky attitude when coming to my house to drop off my $1,000 dollar plus delivery. He had this weird attitude, I got that old gangster type of authority attitude.Then the same older driver proceeded to hand my husband a business card with blood on it! Who does that??? He ended up tossing it in the garbage. The other younger driver was cool, but the older one has to go! That occurred on Saturday, Saturday night my husband has the chills and a fever. The signs make it easy to navigate thru. Do not buy APPLIANCE from Lowe's... Let me start by saying their service after sell is Horrible. I would go as far as saying the manager in the appliance dept is racist. They don't mind taking your money but when something goes wrong they will not try to help. My dad bought a pair of washer and dryer from them. From the get go the dryer did not work properly however we did not go to the store to notify them until 3 days later. Because they have a lame 48 hours return policy they did not wanted to help us. And told us it's no longer their problem and to call corporate. I told him no one told my dad that when he bought it and his English is limited so he couldn't communicate well. Had to wait 25 minutes just to even get the clown of an associate Weston to try and help me. He looked irritated coming back from his lunch : I had 5k ready to spend for a fridge but you lost my sale. I asked him if I can get an order for a fridge he said most likely it's out of stock. I asked why can I order it online he said it's weird it shouldn't. I then told him I tried and why does he have fridges out on the floor without a stock in the back. He clearly just didn't want to sell me a fridge. Horrible employee. And I don't care if you've been doing this for "15 years" you obviously look drained from it. The store is always clean and well stocked for almost everything. I come here frequently, and I always wish I had a bigger vehicle, lol. Customer service is OK, I get the impression they aren't paid that well or treated that well? You have to do self check out unless you are in the garden section. It's close to my house and Home Depot is much further away. This is next to Costco and I feel perfectly safe in the parking lot compared to some other places. read more

I am done with Lowe's and will never shop there again after shopping there for over 20 years to say it's gone downhill is an understatement. The main issue is with their Pro services and the contractors they hire they do shoddy work. One was a shed I had "professionally" installed in May of 2020. They hired some Third Rate tweaker contractors that did a crappy job and split a lot of the wood and left Nails sticking out and I had that issue corrected. I also had paid an extra $100 to level the ground and the bring it up on concrete blocks. These guys only put one flat block down and let the rest of the bottom sit on top of the dirt. I had a dress that with the guy who came to fix the cracks and the nails that were sticking out but he said there was no way to fix that and not to worry about it that the bottom is pressure treated. However the flooring got dry rot just recently, which is not pressure treated and more than likely because it's touching the ground. I knew this would become an issue. So now I got to fix it myself because I called them and they said there was only a one-year warranty when I swore I thought they said 5 to 10 years that they're covered. He pays someone to do a professional installation and they can't do their job right and these guys just looked shady and they were smoking cigarettes in my backyard and leaving butts on the ground not picking them up. Plus they had white stuff around their mouth so you can tell they were tweaking. Nothing I can do about that but I would not purchase a shed for them and if you do you probably do a better job installing it yourself then these guys. Now the most recent thing, we purchased a refrigerator in February and had it delivered and the guy set it up and when they put the doors on they were crooked. Luckily I still have a year warranty and I'm going to have them come back and fix that as it may be a bent bracket that's causing it to keep in mind this is a brand new refrigerator I purchased. So once again the people they hire to do installations drop the ball again, because more than likely we live in a world where everybody's just trying to rush things and sacrifice the quality of work and customer satisfaction. This is strike two and there will not be a strike three because I will not higher than for any kind of pro services or any so-called professional installations. read more

BEWARE! Do not use for any installation service of appliances. The company Superior Appliance Installations is horrible; their ONE technician came out for measurements of my oven and broke the glass. Then when I complained to the company and Lowe's about it, they did nothing for me and then proceeded to refuse to install the new purchased oven because Superior Appliance would not come out to my home to install the oven. Lowe's does not have any other installer in ALL OF NORTHERN CALIFORNIA to service Lowe's installation services. It was a nightmare, and then Lowe's won't even refund the warranty payment directly. How do these places stay in business? I went to Lowe's today for potting soil. I bought a few plants on the clearance rack too. I couldn't find a single soul to help me lift 100 pounds of potting soil so I had to do it myself (and I'm over 70). The clerk charged me the full price on the plants, something I didn't notice til I got home because i was so distracted by having to haul the soil out myself. i called the store as soon as I got home. The billing department could not understand my issue even though I repeated it 4 times. I suppose they were multitasking, surfing the web, talking about their weekend. Disgusting. I waited on hold for 32 minutes. Yes, no typo. I tried to contact corporate to suggest they train their people throughout the store. One minute earlier, the corporate offices had closed for the day. This is not about the price of plants as much as the principle of thing. For God's sake, how hard is it to charge the right price? How hard is it for billing to know how to help the customer? Apparently very, very hard, at Lowe's. Next time I'm 22 miles from home and in their vicinity, I'll give them back their plants. I'm done with this place. read more

We needed a new stove, so we went to Lowes Modesto because we were very impressed with the sales staff in their appliance department. Found what we wanted and made the purchase with a wait of 12 days for delivery. Once the wait was up, we were very excited to have our new stove delivered. We had spoken to a Lowes rep just a few days prior who confirmed the delivery date but could not give us a time, stating the delivery company would call. We purchased three sets of vertical blinds on June 6th 2023. We had to wait 4 weeks for delivery. The installation tech shows up and was missing one complete set of blinds. We contacted Lowes to inform them of the missing items and missing hardware. I have been to Lowes three times to try and get this resolved. The miss handling of the order is inexcusable. W are still waiting for 4 each plastic pieces that hole the valence end on the blinds. One set of blinds was refunded because Lowes can get their process in order from a third second part vendor. Today is Oct 3rd and we still are waiting for this to be completed. We do not advise o recommend shopping for home decor at Lowes in modesto. My elderly mother needed a new toilet. I brought her to Lowe's, pushing her in her wheelchair, but could not find help in the plumbing / toilet area. Looked for associate to help could not get anyone's attention. Found toilet in price range but box was open. In fact there were two open boxes. Brought open box to self check out and associate William was helpful. He said that if anything was missing Lowe's would make it good. Took home and installed toilet. It was missing toilet seat and small covers for the screw/bolt securing the toilet. I thought "no problem, Lowe's will make it good." Took box and receipt back to store around 2 hours after purchase. Went to return line and explained the situation. I said there is another open box in plumbing, may we see if that box had a seat and if so make our purchase complete. She went and spoke with some guy behind the counter and then returned and said our money would be returned to our credit card. I told her that was not what we wanted, that the toilet is already installed at my mom's and we just want to see if we can get a toilet seat from the other open box in the toilet aisle. Her reply was "we don't give away free toilet seats, you can return the toilet you bought or accept it as is" then suggested we should have checked the box. I calmly said the Lowe's associate at the check out told us that Lowe's would make it right if the box was missing any items to which she responded "you should have spoken with a manager." I told her that what she is saying does not make sense." I suggested if I should go and buy the other open box toilet to get the seat and then return it? She said "now that you have told me, if you do that I will have you prosecuted for fraud. I am making a record of this." Wow. I then calmly asked to speak to her manager to which she said "I am the manager". Without another word she turned her back and began to walk away. Again calmly I asked if I could speak to her supervisor, she walked back and wrote on a scratch piece of paper 1 800 44 lowes. Then I asked if I could get her name and she added "Alyssa" to the scratch paper again turning her back and walking away. The other customers in line behind us, I believe, were stunned at the interaction. If only I had a video of this transaction. We then drove to Home Depot and bought a $10 toilet seat and $4 bolt caps. read more

NOTE TO VETERANS: We get a 10% discount. NOTE that to get the discount you must register at their customer service desk. They will ask for your phone number. IMPORTANT: Lowe's doesn't give discount based on your phone number as I thought they would. They will still ask for proof of service DD 214 or Vet on your license. I was initially offended by the phone number question. They also asked my discharge month. Weird but OK. I'm really proud and picky about my Veteran status. Lowe's needs to clarify more clearly WHY they ask the questions they ask. Home Depot only asks for Driver license Vet or DD214. Let's make this easier folks! It was changed to 3pm but clerk told me that they did not know for sure if there would be an installer available on that date.??? I had new windows put in for my house. In the price was also 2 window sils for them to replace. The windows got done, but the contractor pulled up one of the sils and then just left. I tried contacting the contractor, and when he didn't respond I reached out to Lowe's, but after several emails for them to get this done, nothing was done about it. Two months later, I finally had to demand from Lowe's to reimburse me for the sils and I now I have to hire somebody else to come and install them. Lowe's customer service at the store did not do a very good job of communicating with me what was going on and I felt like I had to keep hounding them to find out what's up. Will never use them again. Home Depot's window job was actually cheaper, but for some reason I went with Lowe's and regret it. Breach of Contract: proposal, and contract all clearly stated I was purchasing 3 windows and installation. After only installing 2 of the windows Lowes said my project was complete. I wasted at least ten hours attempting to get Lowes complete the contract with no success. Don't waste your time emailing the CEO Marvin Ellis who said he read my email but then had a staff person tell me and they made a mistake on the contract and it was only for 2 windows. read more
