I've been going to Growers Choice for 14 years. Good selection of products. Today I got hit with an extra charge using my debit card of 1.8%. If you use debit/CC they will add that on. Expecting their customers to carry cash to pay is unreasonable. Poor choice making their customers pay their fees. If they are concerned about CC fees they should have added a price adjustment of all retail products like any business does. I'll start going to the other store I use. They don't charge to use a debit card. read more

I was willing to wait for seeds to arrive but I'm not willing to waste more time trying to purchase them and give them business when it took 45 minutes of my time total and I got no further than making an account. I was put on hold for 10 minutes before the call went silent and I hung up without ever talking to an agent or representative. The call was for help setting up a mesh account which is a payment software that allows you to pay using debit/credit. They send you a pin to confirm your phone number but after 9 tries of having PINs sent to my phone I had no luck because the PINs didn't work when entered into your account set-up. That's when I called and had even more of my time wasted. I'd like to encourage people to buy marijuana seeds online elsewhere because it doesn't seem to work here and good luck getting help. read more

I love this hydroponics store! I am a newbie in growing a cannabis plant for my own use. Every time I have come in, all the guys are very patient with all of my questions, offer great advice and direct me to products that I would need for my particular situation. First off ppl complaining bout the owner being arrogant just don't understand em but he's a good dude n I support him and every dude working there. if you want smiles and ass kissing go to starbucks and Home Depot.This place has been good too me for years and I come in weekly, they have all you need and if you don't visually see it they will order for you. The Grower's Choice team is always helpful. I seem to always stop in when I am in a hurry and they are always willing to help me get what I need and out the door quickly. THE OWNER OF THIS STORE IS VERY RUDE, ARROGANT, AND ANYTHING BUT HELPFUL !!! I was a long standing customer, over six years. I had a $60.00 product to return. Since I shop there so often, I didn't stress about having the receipt, as it had never been a problem in the past. There was a young man I didn't remember having seen there before. I told him I wanted to exchange the product, as it had been sold to me for doing one thing, and once I got it home and read the instruction booklet, found out it didn't do what I needed. The young man told me without the receipt, he wouldn't be able to do anything for me. He was very dismissive, and definitely had an arrogant attitude. After digging around in my purse for a few minutes I was able to present him with the credit card receipt. He then had the nerve to tell me that the credit card receipt wasn't good enough, and I also had to provide the store receipt ! I told the young man that I had been a good customer since they opened and he told me that I couldn't of been "a very good customer, as he was the owner and had never seen me before" !!! WOW, THIS WAS THE RUDEST I HAVE EVER BEEN TREATED IN A PLACE OF BUSINESS FOR A VERY LONG TIME !!! I WOULD NOT SHOP HERE IF IT WERE THE LAST HYDROPONIC STORE IN TRACY, WHICH IT IS NOT. THE HYDRO. Second time in today and after leaving with my purchase--discovered that i had been overcharged (purchased 5 items of one type and was charged for 11). Prices seldom appear on the merchandise and the service is less than helpful. My first visit left me with the finding that at best the customer service is mediocre. I went back today, although not completely satisfied with my first visit with the notion that every one deserves a second chance. Well that was it. I won't be back for a third visit and I would urge Yelp reviewers to be cautious in dealing with this establishment. Without venturing all the way to Sacramento, Oakland or Berkley. I think there are several better retail alternatives nearby in Livermore, Brentwood and Modesto. read more

Great Prices but not worth the way I feel when I walk out of there... Granted it's not a typical store but (some of the) guys are so unprofessional, worried about acting gangsta and visiting with the other employees and/or suppliers... Just not worth saving a couple bucks. read more
