This was a late stop just before they closed as I was looking for something to stop the sink from leaking in the campervan. The store is well stocked, the store is tidy, and the store has just about everything. I did not find what I needed in the plumbing area and when I asked at the customer service desk, the ladies told me that they simply don't stock that, that they can order it, and it will be here in a few days. I purchased a GE washer and dryer in July 2025 with extended warranty. The washer is now making loud squeaking noises even when running a cycle empty. We called for repairs and had to prove the machine was needing repair. Then they scheduled the technician and ordered the parts they said we needed. The technician had to reschedule multiple times due to parts not being delivered in time for the repair. Then when both parts and technician were finally at the house he takes apart the machine completely. Parts were all over my house. He's glaring at my special needs child the whole time. Then he checks and sees that the parts ordered were not the correct ones. He tosses the machine back together (I really don't believe it was put back correctly based on how it was taken apart) and leaves. The only information we are given is that it's the wrong parts and we need the right parts. We are given the understanding that a new appointment can be made when the right parts are ordered. Next thing we know there will be no repair but a replacement. One minute later another email comes that there will be no replacement because there are no same or equivalent models available. Instead they want us to accept a Home Depot gift card. I make calls and check stores and see my exact model in store less than 30 minutes away from my house able to be delivered in a week. The gift card they want me to accept is for less than the cost of getting the same model machine. They want me to take less money in the form of a gift card to their store, pay the difference to replace it myself, pay delivery and take away if the old machine and pay for any hook up and installation service and parts. This is not honoring the warranty! I'm already losing money paying to use the machines at a laundromat (clothes for four people including kids) because of how this has drug on. I called to speak with someone directly and get the back and forth between warranty support and customer service with Home Depot. I finally speak to someone with warranty support who says the technician listed the machine as being "not repairable". What are you talking about? The machine squeaked loudly but operated until he took it apart. What did he do to my machine? The technicians report didn't mention the wrong parts either. At this point I can only believe he destroyed my machine and they are now trying to sweep it under the rug. read more

Just had a great experience, I was able to use the app to find everything I wanted. I was a little lost finding a small part and someone noticed in the aisle and asked if they could help. I had to ask for help to get something down from a high shelf and the worker was doing something else but stopped immediately to help me. Everyone was nice and helpful without being pushy about it. I always bring my dog with me because she loves how everyone says hi, she had a great time as always. Then at checkout a worker helped me bring my cart to the car and loaded all of my items while I got my large dog in the car. I haven't had the best experiences here before, nothing bad, just mainly indifference from staff. I've noticed a really nice change in recent visits and today was lovely! read more

Service was terrible. I looked for an associate to help my wife get a power tool and couldn't find anyone. I used the QR code to call an associate over and when the person got there he looked at us and walked away without saying a word. We tried to call someone over again and it almost immediately showed the screen it usually does when you have already been helped. We were informed by the floor person named Nick that the delivery on our washer would be today after 5 PM as I work till 5 PM. He assured us that would be fine. Come to find out that wasn't the case. My parents drove 5 hours to come buy this washer for me and help me out in a time of need. They drove back feeling at ease knowing it would be handled by your "professional" team. Since then I received a message saying it would be delivered from 11:30 AM - 3:30 PM on Friday. We last minute called the manager Julie who told us Nick should have never assured us a set delivery time and since I live alone we ended up cancelling the order. Now we have to wait for the refund to be issued and hit the account before we can find somewhere that'll work with us on delivery and installation time. If that wasn't bad enough I then receive a phone call from the driver saying they are 30 minutes away from my house. I inquired if they were told the order was canceled in which they were not. Seems like management needs to communicate better with their people. Our family has spent $1,000's of dollars with Home Depot and we agreed after this mess we won't spend another dollar at Home Depot. read more

Extremely disappointed with the level of service at the Independence, MO Home Depot. I came in to purchase a full bundle of plywood and spent over 30 minutes walking back and forth across the store, being passed off from one employee to another. No one wanted to take responsibility or help me get my order loaded -- everyone seemed more interested in pushing the job off on someone else. It felt like no one had any sense of urgency or accountability. When you're spending real money on materials, the least you expect is a little effort and professionalism. Frank at the paint desk is one of the most helpful associates I have yet to come by. He exceeded my expectations He was so efficient in his work and gets the job done! There was a very long line, and Frank was by himself. He stayed calm and tried to help everyone as quick and easy as he could but I know I sure would be stressed if I was by myself. When it's Sunday morning,and I need some hardware or whatever at 8:00 a.m., I can't go to Sutherlands, cause they don't seem to be open that early. Hobby Lobby is closed on Sundays,and Joanne's isn't open yet. Sometimes I just need things at 8:00 a.m., not that I would actually hammer or nail anything. God forbid me even try mechanical home improvements. I like this Home Depot. I can always find someone to help me. I don't know where things are in the store. Those employees know their products, and where it is located. They have a plethora of outdoor plants, and garden items. The flowers are healthy, and so are the plants. They are just getting in their plants for this season. Actually, it's still winter, for a couple of more days, but the spring plants came up early. They have tons of indoor improvement items, plus they can help you decide on paint color, and exterior, interior and flooring and walls.I'd never do walls of floors, but it's there. Batteries, knives, (I always look at their knives, I don't know why I like knives, but I do.) I've bought components, such as 3 prong connectors, and such. They are small items, and the employees always know where they are in the store. Good thing they know that, cause I don't. I also like their items at the register, or little knick-nacks I don't need. I think men need those things more than I. But many times i can use hardware items for crafts, and Home Depot never fails. Very nice store. read more

Bought a refrigerator on Dec. 1, 2020. Great buy, side by side bottom freezer. We loved it. Delivered with minor dent they were supposed to give us $200 credit for but never saw it and lost delivery copy so our problem anyway. Four and an half months later on Mother's Day, May 9, both the refrigerator and freezer had stopped working. The lights were on so it was properly plugged in. When we called Samsung for repairs, they said Thursday 13 between 12 and 4. No one came. Meanwhile our groceries are farmed out to friends and relatives. On inquiry they claimed that there was no work order on file and we had not been given a claim number. Samsung finally came today, May 19 and we had to pay $20 for a tiny part not included in our warranty. It also has to be back ordered and won't be in for another week. This will make 17 days without our nearly new refrigerator. The $20 is a nominal amount to pay but it is adding insult to injury that we are to be so inconvenienced. Won't buy from Home Depot again or buy Samsung. read more

I hope I'm not writing an updated review prematurely because, I'm not quite done with Home Depot yet... During my last visits, customer service has improved drastically! Everything got situated with my appliance order. They actually called me the next day to offer a refund. Apparently, they need confirmation from their vendor on canceled orders to ensure they receive their money back because, they've had problems in the past. Personally, as a Project Manager this is poor service to the customer and that should be handle directly between HD and their vendor. Sounds like they need a new vendor. Anyways, fridge will be here soon and I hope there are no issues. I ended up ordering my fridge here. For the most part, that went well. Except, the young lady had my address wrong. Sigh. I'll give her a break because, she was multitasking more than she probably should have. Thank God I combed through my paperwork. Otherwise, that could have been a disaster! read more

I turned my Milwaukee Inpact Drill in for repair on 10/22/17. Now over 2 months later, the tool is still not repaired. Every time I call about it they say they are waiting on parts and give a date that parts expected. Every time it's the same line waiting on parts..... This is under Milwaukee Warranty. If Home Depot can't fix it why don't they inforn Milwaukee to give me a new drill after waiting this long? After the first repair attempt failed, I should have received a refurbished unit. However after 10 weeks of waiting and no clue when back ordered parts will arrive I should get a brand new unit. Moral of the story, never use Home Depot tool repair. Find somewhere else to go. This location continues to go downhill. Ordered (and paid for) same day delivery on Sunday 05/02. All day long on 05/02 the on-line tracker said 'order received'. No notices about delays, out of stock, etc. Just no communication whatsoever. 05/03 came and the on-line tracker still said 'order received'. No communication saying a delay - in fact no communication at all. None. I called the 800 number about 2 pm 0n 03/05, went through all the menus and waited on hold for about 15 minutes then the line went dead. Repeated several times with a slightly different 800 number (all from their website) and each time after a significant hold the line went dead. Finally called the local number and it rang for about 30 or so rings when I finally got an answer. I gave them the order number and they said delivery was attempted at 10:30 am on 05/02. First, the delivery was not attempted. Not only was I there all day long, my video security system proves that no one came anywhere near the front door at time stated. Second this was not an order that required a signature. No need to "attempt" - just drop it on the porch and go. Maybe they are all like this. I don't know. It usually doesn't make sense to review a chain - especially one with 2,248 locations (I looked it up). A retailer like this is going to have a small market and will draw consumers from the market it serves. Basically what this means is that it's unlikely someone is going to drive past one Home Depot to get to another. My suggestion though is that if you can, do that with this location. This doesn't just come with one visit. I've been there many times. Many, many, many times. The prices are the same as other locations, the selections, a little more frugal - probably the market it serves. But the service, ah, the service is the difference here. Sure, there are some friendly people that work here but the stand out feeling here is that the employees have a beaten persona. On my most recent visit, I asked one of three employees at the Customer Service and Returns counter if I could pay for my one light bulb there (it was 10 degrees, I was parked right outside that door, and the registers were at the opposite end of the store - seemed reasonable and they've offered to do it before.) She said nothing. Not a word. She held out her hand, I assumed this did not mean "Hi! I'm _______, it's nice to meet you. I'm happy to ring up your light bulb." Instead, I handed her the light bulb. She immediately began the exhaustive effort of waving it in front of a scanner and saying the words "5.82". Again holding out her hand. I handed her my credit card and felt like I should apologize. So I did. I apologized for bothering her. She said she just couldn't move over - not sure what that meant. As if to say because there was another person standing by her, her kindness was completely debilitated. So, that happened. read more

The wife & I have a big house project going on as we stopped in last night,(7-1). We asked a service representative if while we continue shopping could we get 2 pieces of dry wall cut in half. We were informed that "normally" they don't do that & he would be happy to get me a box cutter so that I could do it myself. As I stated earlier we were going to be shopping for other items & this would have saved us some time. Then an excellent rep, I only got his 1st name, Vince,(who was working @ the front end of the building) said yeah we can do that. Vince you saved a customer & I will certainly be looking for you when we come back. Either it's a good customer experience or horrible, it's up to the associate. Walked out. Business owner. Been in business since 1989. Had a truck full of supply for the company. The first cashier. Was about to ring me up when she just walked off to another cashier and started helping her. So I stood there a little longer. I see another cashier just got open so pull my truck of supplies over to her. She walks by me and says "hang on a minute". Customer service is horrible here. This Home Depot location is the worst. They do not do wheel call? Are you kidding me? Like it is not bad enough to have to go in to Home Depot with the long wait times and limited help in the first place. After putting me on hold for 20 min. a lady (most likely supervisor) stated that they do not do wheel calls and proceeded to tell me that Home Depot does not do phone sales or Wheel call. We have being doing business with Home Depot for over 4 years at a continuous rate and 90% of our business with Home Depot is by phone. Seeing the end of HD, hello Lowes. We scheduled a delivery that we were told would not be here on the delivery date (on our ticket) because we didn't schedule the delivery date??? Calls remain on hold with loud music blaring because the person that answered the phone doesn't know how to access the delivery ticket information. Store is under staffed, so unless you know where to locate what you want forget getting help. Long lines at checkout Contractor desk spends time designing projects for tire kickers. Just completed installation on a large window order purchased and installed by Home Depot. Has to be the worst experience ever. First the order was really messed up, missing a single window and another window was sent as a double that should have been two singles. The wrap was sent as brown and should have been white. When the wrong wrap was being removed to re-wrap with the white, we noticed the installers where not insulating properly. When we took the issue up with the installer (who did not understand English) we spoke to the site supervisor to let him know we were not happy. He was very nice but hard for me to understand and had to keep asking what he said. I paid to have 5 windows reframed because of rotting wood and to have shutters taken down and put back, which was not done. We felt like we had to keep checking the work to make sure it was being done right. The wrap was cut to short and was told it would be covered by caulk, which I explained to them that was not the purpose for caulk, its for sealing the seams. After waiting another 2 weeks for the other 3 windows and taking more time off work. It took another crew 3 days to come back and redo the windows correctly. The contract was amended but, not to my satisfaction. All this being said just to let you know, you don't always get what you pay for and to be sure everything is in writing and you have a complete itemized list of what you're paying for. I now have 19 new windows to wash, that should have been left clean! read more
