My toddler and I loved the cut flower garden! They had a good select considering it's late in the season. We can't wait to come next year during sunflower season! The walk from the store front to the garden was very cute cutting through the orchards, it is a good little walk on a gravel path so be prepared.

I love coming to the Cultivate Kitchen at Colonial Gardens. Their coffee is always delicious, and the outdoor seating is incredibly relaxing. You don't feel rushed, and the ambiance is amazing. This is a great place for a book club or other gathering. I just saw that you can rent the garden space out, too, if you have a larger event. I definitely recommend it!

Attended an event here and this place is absolutely stunning. Plus we love farm to table. Can't wait to go back and experience the magic again.

We went to their Alpaca brunch and enjoyed ourselves! For the brunch: -- fun time outside but not really any shaded areas. If you're sensitive to the sun, you may want to try a cloudy day or rethink it. -- food was good but lackluster. Expected more, if I'm honest. By more I mean more variety, more options, etc. what you get is a small packaged meal of mixed fruit, cheese-less, crust-less veggie quiche and a zucchini muffin served with water (mixed drinks available for purchase) -- it felt kind of unorganized. Since the groups to see the alpaca were small, you basically are entertaining yourself for a fair chunk of it. The music was fun, but I can't imagine keeping a kiddo under 10 entertained for that long. -- port a potties had no available water despite using the foot pump. There was soap but nothing else. There were also bathrooms in Colonial Gardens, but that was across the road. -- animals are going to animal! The alpaca were obviously the stars of the show. Sometimes they liked you. Sometimes they didn't. We loved every minute of it!! It's still a fun time regardless. It's a fun way to support agritourism. If you go in exciting a bigger event with a full assortment of breakfast items, you're going to be disappointed. Go in with real expectations and you'll have a blast. Tip: if it's rained within the last 24 hours, bring a towel to sit on. You're on outside benches on a working farm, so plan accordingly! Colonial Gardens is fun to walk around afterwards, though you'll notice that you go from one of the few early customers when the brunch begins to a packed house by the time you're done!

Perhaps one of the most beautiful businesses I have ever visited! Colonial Gardens was not only easy to navigate, explore, and get comfortable at, but the employees were kind, professional and as genuine as could be. ^__^ It was obvious how happy they were being apart of it all. I'm in love with the costumer service, the atmosphere it holds, and the the quality. The products are really good as well! Tons of wholesome, home-made, Well-made household décor, tools, kitchenware, and more. The farm animals there looked healthy and comfortable, their enclosures were well maintained and full of life. The animals are well-acquainted with me and everyone else who were present visiting them. Would I return to Colonial Gardens? Absolutely! With family and friends? Most definitely! I strongly recommend this place to gardening enthusiasts and straight-up nature lovers!

Cultivate Cafe at Colonial Gardens is a great cafe for breakfast, brunch, or lunch. They have a short menu and selection of coffee items. Also a beautiful spot inside the nursery.

As soon as my guest and I walked in we instantly felt welcomed by Colonial Gardens staff. We all know it's easy to spot when someone hates their job, but here everyone seemed genuinely happy and PROUD. This place has it all! Farm, plant nursery, store front, farm to table restaurant, workshops, classes... basically all of your agriculture dreams in one spot! One thing I noticed is that they are very well priced! Especially for the quality! I didn't see any plants that were dead or dying. The education they are willing to provide around the plants is an added bonus! I got to enjoy some food from their farm to table cafe, and let me just say... FRESHHHHHHH! I can't wait to go back for my next indoor plant and spring outdoor selections!

Had the most wonderful morning picking berries! Earlier the better in the KC summer weather. Be sure and stop to have lunch at the café at Colonial Gardens. It was my first time berry picking and it was a wonderful experience.

This is a unique place to visit, such friendly staff to help with an extensive array of plants and give amazing advice! You can really tell the workers love what they do! A beautiful place with fresh, farm to table food, fruits, vegetables and a beautiful green house filled with all kinds of plants! If you're looking for somewhere new to visit and haven't been yet definitely check it out! Mid-October was an amazing time to visit with beautiful weather and gorgeous views!

Plant lovers- this place is for you! There are soo many different types of plants for all types of plant parents! There were a lot of staff members available to help answer any questions! The courtyard area is stunning and definitely worth checking out! There is live music events! Big Bertha is a huge greenhouse for their warm temperature plants, and it's incredible to see how big everything is when it is cared for very carefully! They have a tiny farmers market at the front of the store with lots of unique things! Highly recommend!

Colonial Gardens was featured on the local news last week so we decided to go check it out. We live near Suburban so we weren't totally wowed by the plants but the little farmer's market inside was so unique and truly had a lot of produce, cheese and treats. There is also a good selection of packaged items that would make great hostess gifts. They have a lot of pots to select from but I felt a little on the pricey side. We needed help finding an aloe plant and the employee was very kind and patient. I would like to go back and try their cafe one day but I think I will stick to Suburban for my plants, only because Colonial is 30 minutes away.

Did Not Expect to Bee Surprised! Turning off Wyatt Road in Blue Springs, my first surprise was that all I could see was a garden center! It was an amazing garden center with what looked to be well over an acre of plants, flowers, trees, seeds, and everything "garden" one would need - but I thought I was going to an out door restaurant! After parking in their large private lot, I found a beautiful outdoor garden cafe complete with live music and an outdoor fireplace! Finding a table I was overwhelmed by the serenity of the venue surrounded by flowering plants and trees, along with a very good folk group on their stage! Everything melted into a relaxing mixture of sights, sounds, and smells that set the perfect tone for a leisurely brunch. As I eased into a light breakfast of bacon and scrambled eggs, I dug into a very delightful waffle that was crunchy but tender with a great flavor. It seemed as if syrup was cooked into it before a light drizzle to finish it off. That was when I realized that I should have taken a table near the smoke from the fireplace. If I would have been an entomologist I might have remembered that bees are drawn to flowering plants and sweet syrup!. As that bit of tantilizing waffle got to my mouth I too late noticed a bee had landed on the leading edge of my fork. Before I could react he stung my lower lip! Needless to say he did not survive "our" breakfast! But I did figure out that by placing a napkin over the waffle I could sneak bites in relative autonomy from the local predators. As staff consoled me, I did realize the errors of my ways, and that I should work on my situational awareness during future trips there. Yes, my own fault and yet another "life learning experience!" Did this turn me away from returning? No way! Now that I fully understand the food chain, I will gladly return to Colonial Gardens for future brunches (their wine list is perfectly matched to their menu and environment). And I highly recommend slipping out to Blue Springs, Colonial Gardens for a well deserved, relaxing, brunch! Just do not bee surprised!

Amazing plant selection. A little pricey but love the atmosphere and supporting a local small business.
