June 9th Kathryn, I've used the Preen you told me about. Do I have to do it every week or something? I have been out there about once every week or so, pulling them out. You said they would not be a problem, It's a problem. And what is the vine on the one lilac? I hope it's not poison ivy. No response from her. I contacted her again, on the 17th. Kathryn, these are growing up through the mat you put under the rocks. You said that wouldn't happen. Her reply yesterday the 17th. Hi Lori, I had discussed with you that the bagged rock was full of dirt which is causing this issue. I blew off as much as I could the day of however there was still way too much. This is typical from bagged rock. My best recommendation now would be to remove the rock and throughly rinse the area of all dirt and debris or remove the rock (you can use elsewhere if you'd like), throughly clear all dirt and debris then lay new rock from my vendor. I want to point out that the weeds are coming from above the weedmat from the dirt that came with the rocks. If you move the nearby rocks to the weeds, you'll see that the start of the roots are on top then they're penetrating the mat allowing them to keep growing. I will be happy to come out again. Let me know which option you'd like to go with and I'll send you the estimate. My reply yesterday. No, I have pulled the rocks back, and they are through the mat in several places. Why didn't you rinse it when you put it down there if you knew that was an issue? There was a hose right there. So the mat is not stopping anything and you knew this would happen. So I paid you 2K for nothing other than making it a smaller area with the same issues. That is unacceptable, that I have to come after your work to remove and rinse what you knew to be a problem, and did not take care of. By the way, she said with the industrial mat nothing would come through, that's why she uses it. She only used two bags of new rock, the rest were the original rocks, she did not mention they needed to be rinsed along with all of the existing rock and she didn't do it. From the amount of dirt between the rock and mat it looks like she didn't rinse near enough or at all. Here is her reply. I did rinse it once it was laid and I blew off at high velocity. However it didn't remove all of it. I did let you know the day of about the issue with the dirt in the rocks. The roots are penetrating the mat from above not below. She said I rinsed it once AFTER it was laid, not before. So, the mat and the rocks were not rinsed before she put them back. Thus leaving the dirt in all of the rock she put back. So I still have grass and weeds growing in my new landscaping. read more

The tree service was fine, the customer service was beyond disappointing, although they advertise that they value their customers and want positive reviews and repeat business it's obvious to me that's not the case. i Spoke to the office manager which I believe is the wife, her husband I believe came out and did an estimate, and said it would be emailed. I received it I looked it over I considered getting another estimate but I thought it was fair. I made arrangements for the day that they were going to come out it was going to be a while because they were very busy. I didn't hear from them again until the date that they came out. I was here all morning and left mid afternoon to run some errands when I came back they were gone the work was done, I expected a invoice or something left on the door because the estimate said there could be a difference in price. There was nothing left there so I assumed a bill would be coming in the mail. I didn't receive anything and since our appointment was after the first of the month I thought perhaps I would get something the following month a phone call or something Thanksgiving came and went the holiday season in December started and I simply got busy I finally called because I hadn't heard anything I was told that a invoice had been emailed. I told her I hadn't received anything and I searched through my inbox and couldn't find anything so she said she would resend it to me. I hung up once I received it. I reviewed it and it was more than I expected it to be but I thought perhaps there was a difference in some work so I started reading it and I found that I was charged a $345 late fee. I called back and I spoke to her and I was extremely confused by the charge and she said because I had not responded to the email there was a late charge. A 15% so obviously this was not an inexpensive trimming in the first place. I explained that I expected either an invoice left in my door or something in the mail not something by email. She stated since I received the estimate originally by email I should've expected it that way. I've never received the final invoice for any work we've had done via email and had I been told to expect that by email I would've been watching for it just as I did with the original estimate. It was obvious she was unconcerned and not willing to work with me in reducing the amount of this late fee. I in turn sent her an email advising her how disappointed I was and how I had hoped for a ongoing business relationship and had even talk to her husband about finding someone else to do some work on our deck in the backyard. I told her that the employees had left a long pointed metal tool in my yard. And that our neighbor had come over and ran his tractor over our lawn for us and it was just pure luck that he didn't run over it because it would've likely destroyed his mower. I told her I had it here on my front porch and they could pick it up. I have not received any response by email by phone or any other way in regard to this which tells me that obviously they don't appreciate customers and they don't want return business and they don't want positive reviews. To put it mildly I was very disappointed because the men that came over and worked on our trees were very respectful and very pleasant and worked very hard and did for the most part a good job there was a couple branches that could've been trimmed more but no big deal I was pleased with their work. when I spoke to her this was just shortly before Christmas and she honestly put a damper on the whole season let alone this is personal but it was the anniversary of my mother passing away and I was too upset to deal with it. It's taken me this long to actually post anything about it. The fact that she didn't bother to even respond after I returned her email shortly after talking to her also showed a total lack of customer service and concern for either keeping a customer, or sharing the positive experience that they continue to advertise they desire. read more

We contacted this business to receive a bid on an upcoming project. We were only able to communicate with them via text message initially, because when you call their business line, it requests you text them for faster service. They texted us and told us they would be coming by the next day to give us a bid. Eddy came the next day, as promised, we discussed the project and he stated he would be coming back with his designer/photographer the following week. He stated she would take photos and create a drawing of the finished project, to be sure we would be on the same page. The photographer/designer came several days later, alone, not with Eddy. We discussed the project with her, just as we had Eddy, she stated it usually takes her 2-3 days to complete the drawing and when she was finished, she would email it to us. The next day we received an invoice from her for $85 for the cost of her drawing and various other services she offers, such as, being on scene and managing the project. We assumed the $85 drawing fee would be something added on if we had chosen to use them for our project, otherwise, the bid is not free. Absolutely, NO other companies we contacted for bids attempted to charge us for their bid or the plans for the completed project. Obviously, this didn't feel right to us, but we thought maybe we misunderstood the designer, so we would wait for the bid and consider Hernandez Lawn/Landscape along with the other bids we received. Unfortunately, 10 days later, we still had no drawings, no photos and no bid. We contacted them, via text message, of course, to ask if they were still interested in the project and were going to submit a bid, because we would be making our decision very soon. We were notified that they were still waiting on the drawings, but they should have a bid, "soon." We advised that we would need the bid within 4 days in order to consider them for the project. We still received nothing. We can't help but think the slick way Eddy tells you his "designer" is coming by to take photos, but doesn't mention that person will be charging you for the drawings, is not good business practice. Nor is promising a bid, but never providing one. The other 3 companies we also received FREE bids from came after Eddy's initial visit and they submitted their bids, along with the photos/drawings within 2-3 days, as promised. We waited nearly 2 full weeks and still never received a bid. (Probably because we didn't mail the designer a check.) Needless to say, we think maybe we dodged a bullet in not choosing this company for our job. The organization, communication and lack of submitting anything to us, ever, screams, "I don't want your business." Our advice, contact someone else and avoid the frustration of dealing with what appears to be a very shady ran company. If you have this much trouble, just trying to get a bid on a project, I can't imagine what it might be like dealing with them when issues arise during the actual work. read more
