I stopped by this Home Depot with a friend today in search of wood to build a shelf with. It took us a bit to find the right wood and no employees seemed to be around to ask for help. When we finally found the wood we needed, we had to go through every board and pick out the two with the fewest chips and cracks. Multiple boards had the beginning of a split in the middle so they would not last long as shelves. Once we got our boards, we made our way over to the screws to pick out the screws we needed. Again, nobody around to help us. We picked up what we needed and went over to the garden area to look at planters. As we approached it, two different employees asked us if we needed help. They all seemed to be congregating either at the front or in the garden area. We finished picking up everything we needed and went to self checkout, where we were luckily able to get a 10% discount on the two boards because they were still fairly scuffed up. Paid for everything and took it to the car and left. The store may be big with lots of selection, but getting help when you need it can be difficult. The prices are high and I wouldn't have gone here if I had another option (Lowe's was equally expensive and the Habi store didn't have what we needed). The parking lot is huge and easy to get in and out of from both streets surrounding it. The store is about as clean as you'd expect a hardware store to be. All in all I would much rather support a local small business than a big box hardware store, but I didn't have much of a choice here. read more

They don't post their refund policy. I received a Ryobi 40 V HP cordless chainsaw for Christmas. This was perfectly unopened still secured by the zip tie through the bar, etc.. I asked for in-store credit so that I could buy another tool because I already have this one. They refused to give me credit without a receipt or the credit card that it was bought on. I then offered to have them look on my credit card to see that I already bought one which they did and found one for $279. Then for some reason they went ahead and still denied a credit. This place has really gone downhill over the last few years. This is why you only buy things at Costco or other reputable businesses. read more

The weekend of Father's Day my washer decided to go bonkers on me, and over flow, the completely break down. Costco refunded us our $$. We would have purchased from them again, but I couldn't wait for a washer. I was a little disappointed when I showed up here looking, and there was staff that would walk by, and not bother to ask us if we needed assistance. There were also other customers looking to purchase a refrigerator that were also about ready to walk out. After waiting for about 15-20 minutes finally a nice woman comes over and asks if we needed help. She looked to see what she had in stock as far as what we were looking for. They didn't have what we wanted. I was still bothered by the other employees that were standing in a circle talking, that didn't even ask if they could call someone over to help. I have found this to be an issue at the other location a lot as well. How ever fast forward to this 4th of July weekend. We were thinking of either replacing parts on our Traeger, or buying one new. Costco had them on sale, but they were on back order, and for $100 more THD had them put together, and in stock. It didn't take long before we had several employees helping us out. There was one woman that helped with the pricing, and wheeling it to the register, and there was another young lady that helped load in the truck. We are happy we made the decision to replace our older Traeger. I am also glad we had faster service the last time. read more

This is a company that has decided to use blackmail type tactics against its good customers. About a year ago I bought a tool chest and signed up for their card in order to take advantage of a special offer they had. I paid the item off immediately. The original card issued to me had an $8000 limit. The card has maintained a 0 balance over the last year. I thought l might use the card again one day so I decided to just keep it open. Today I received a blackmail letter from Home Depot saying if I did not charge something on my freaking card in the next 60 days my available credit would be reduced to $5000. Home depot has NO business issuing me some ultimatum to try and make me use their card or else......I do not take kindly to shit like this. I have cancelled my card and will never do business at Home Depot again. There are plenty of other places to go that do not try and blackmail its customers. Piss off Home Depot read more

Michael and I have been living in Florence for 1 year and have been to the Home Depot on Seneca many, many times since we have been having some work done on the home we bought. I can't say enough good things about this HD! From Paint to the little screws, someone was always around to help if we needed it! Paint department was FANTASTIC. We were there yesterday and thanks to Miguel the store manager helping us out with a return! I couldn't have been more grateful!! Miguel was awesome and so understanding of our situation so if I can up the stars I most certainly would! TOP NOTCH!! We'll be doing more work in our kitchen so will we be back to HD on Seneca? I am a disabled veteran and frequent shopper at Home Depot. As of 2022, they no longer give veteran discounts by showing an ID card. They now require a QR app on your cell phone. So if you do not own a cell phone you are out of luck. QR codes have personal information and this info can be leaked. I will never shop at a HD store again, NEVER. read more

Bought an entire kitchen of appliances...oven, microwave, fridge and dishwasher... the sales staff was WONDERFUL and so helpful. Scheduled the delivery for a day in the very near future...OUTSTANDING! Then came the delivery date - between 10 and 2. At 1020 the guys called and were 20 minutes away. Then 10 minutes out. Then called to tell us our address is not in GPS... there's a first. Then they called back and said they hadn't been able to reach us and tried twice to find our house but we're unsuccessful. Huh? Couldn't reach us? They had talked twice to my husband. How did they know they were 25 minutes away if they had no idea where we lived? How could they say they couldn't reach us when they spoke twice to my husband? Then the warehouse got involved...sort of... husband held for 20 minutes, was offered to pick up the appliances at the store which is an hour away. Then was offered a free freezer in which to store everything we had packed into ice chests but he would have to drive into Eugene to pick it up. He asked to speak to a supervisor, held for another 18 minutes and then was mysteriously disconnected. Immediately received a text notifying him that our delivery had been rescheduled for next Tuesday without even asking if we would be home. I called the store to add directions to my home but did not go into detail about my experience, I simply told the guy we had MAJOR problems. No apology came from him; in fact his responses led me to believe this was a daily occurrence. CAVEAT EMPTOR! read more

I ordered a washing machine from HomeDepot.com. During the order process the website asked me if I wanted to purchase optional stainless steel hoses for $21.95. I didn't need anything that fancy and thought the rubber hoses it would come with would suffice. The washer had to be freighted in so I had about a week lead time before it was going to be delivered. My window for delivery was 1-4pm on a Saturday. At 3:50 I get a call from a driver telling me he on his way. At 4:55pm I call the driver and ask if he is still planning on delivering the washer because his phone call is supposed to be my 30 minute heads up. I had someone waiting to accept the delivery because I was at work. A little bit later I was told the washer was delivered but it wasn't installed. Apparently the washer didn't come with any hoses so it was left at my apartment uninstalled. This did not work for me. I paid for it to be installed. Apparently the website neglected to mention that the washer doesn't come with ANY hose. I didn't buy the "optional" hose and assumed it came with a rubber hose since it wasn't offered when I purchased it. I attempted to call the delivery driver not 5 minutes after he left and it went to voicemail. So I called the store on Seneca. I ended up speaking to a manager named Carrie (sp?). She was very helpful. I explained that I thought the washer came with everything needed to install since I paid for it to be delivered and installed. She said that only a few models come with one and the website can be confusing and unhelpful. She told me that next time I should definitely call or come in to the store to talk to someone to ensure I get everything I need. Regardless, I needed a functioning washing machine and told her I had no problem buying a hose and giving her my credit card over the phone, but I would be at work for a few more hours and couldn't come to get it. Carrie was very nice and offered to send someone out to install the hose so my washing machine was ready to go as soon as I got home. She sent an Assistant Manager to my place and he got it installed. He even took the box the washer came in that the delivery driver was kind enough to leave in the middle of my living room. So to clarify: the website and delivery drivers suck. They don't mention that you MUST buy additional products for their items to work and the driver was well past his delivery time, his call was over an hour before he showed up, and when he didn't have a hose, he left and said it couldn't be installed and I couldn't reach him for help. The Seneca store was VERY helpful and Carrie certainly came through. I didn't even have to pay for the hose (they installed the stainless steel ones for my trouble) and I would have paid for those -- but they covered it! I will definitely stop in there the next time I need home improvement items so they can recoup their time and effort they showed me -- but I won't use their website again. I have been working with Home Depot to order custom sliding closet doors since the first week of November. Since these doors are not off the rack an outside company, Craft, was required to come to my home to take measurements. Today I was provided the cost for the doors, installation, etc. which I paid for in full. I was then told that installation would not be available until January......that's 6+ weeks from now. Really!! This is just an idea but maybe you would want to retain more than one company for installation orders so that your pledge to provide fabulous customer service is one customers actually experience. read more

After you get up at 5 AM to maat your crew to move your entire house full of furniture out of the house onto your lawn, by 8 AM, you will get a call from the installer that they WILL NOT show up. This review is just for the paint counter. Do not go to Home Depot to have paint samples matched. I brought in some samples to have some touch up paint mixed, and they were all either too green or too yellow. I came back to see if they could take another shot at mixing a new batch, and they said there's nothing that they can do because it's matched by computer. Maybe check to see if the scanner needs to be recalibrated? Nope. Nothing they can do. I went to Sherwin Williams after that and was able to get perfect matches for my samples. read more

I try to go to the other location in Eugene (because it is more convenient to where I live) but always end up frustrated and then leaving and going to the Seneca road location. At the Seneca Rd. location, the Customer Service people are amazing and even take back my returns with a smile (lol). I can always find an employee in a department when I have a question and they seem like they are genuinely there to help me. They have the products I want. I even order things online (like pallets of flooring) and have them delivered there and they are always so helpful. Hopefully, Home Depot knows how wonderful their employees are at this location and give them some props, cause the employees are the ones that keep me coming back! I bought a new refrigerator at Home Depot, which I will not do again, strictly because of their warranty practices. It was an emergency situation because I was hosting a family reunion and with the house full of company the refrigerator went out. About 2 weeks later I noticed the freezer was all iced up. I called and was given the phone number for this Dr. Raymond home repair. The man came out on a Friday, which was okay, I know they are busy and 3 days was not long for a summer call, and company had left. The repair person looked at it and then called his boss. He said he couldn't see any issues with any gaps in the seal around the freezer door. There were quite a few actually. The man on the phone tells him to seal it. So he hangs up and says he will have to come back on Monday because he can't get the sealer until then. I said that Home Depot was just down the road and could he get it there. He said he had no funds to do so until Monday. That he has to buy the repair items himself. He called in again and inquired about an appt for that Monday, and I heard the other person on the other end talking loudly asking him if he didn't have $.99 to buy a tube of the sealer. Apparently not. So Monday rolls around and he starts sealing with a horrible smelling sealer, like a lacquer smell. Three days later I called back in saying the smell is still lingering and has made our food inside fridge have a bad odor. Person answering the phone was so unapologetic and couldn't care less. To top it off a month later I am calling again because now its all peeling. I asked Home Depot for another company to work with. They obliged and I had a local company from Eugene send someone out. That representative took one look at it and said he was not going to touch the job, that the other company had to come back out. Update: Now there is mold growing in parts of the refrig and a free-standing refrigerator thermometer that EWEB gave me, shows that it is on spoilage. I wish I could give the employees here six stars! Tate saved the day. We just moved from a state that only required a back license plate for our car, and I only had a couple more days to put the new Oregon plates on before the old ones expired. I had a mounting bracket, but no holes in the front bumper and no power tools to put them there, so I was looking at either paying a body shop to do it or purchasing a cordless drill, which would have been expensive either way. We went in to ask if they rent power tools at this location (they do not), and Tate was kind enough to lend us a cordless drill for free to run out to the parking lot and put the holes in the bumper. Really went the extra mile and it saved us a ton of money, time and stress. We will be coming back here for anything home improvement-related that we need. read more

As Home Depot goes, this one is pretty impressive. We found exactly what we were looking for (paint) in a flash -- and were in and out before the car even had time to cool off. This is a good thing from my perspective, because any time you go into a place that occupies this much acreage, there is the potential for wandering lost for half an hour before finding the right aisle. This is an especially big property -- at least compared to Home Depots I've been in before. What was interesting was the lack of crowd. We were there at about 6 in the evening, and I didn't see any other customers in the paint department, in spite of the 2 sales people working there. I'd have expected an "after work" or dinner crowd to be out looking for DIY supplies.... but no. Prices seemed average and as expected. BIg parking lot -- very clean inside and out. Ordered a washing machine with home Depot online after our 17 year old machine blew it's motor. Great price. Had to wait 4 days to have delivered. Not shabby. Delivered this am. Went to fill to do laundry 30 after delivery and it flooded our garage. Hubby spent 60 min on phone with Home Depot then whirlpool( maker of said machine) Home Depot wants to send someone out maybe Thursday or Friday to evaluate then another ,5-6 days IF they decide washer should be replaced.have called.credit card company and have a dispute have advised home Depot to pick up washer.if they can't pick up by wed. If they can't get by wed, will be at the curb. Went to Don's Maytag appliances today, new washer co.i g Thursday. They have been in business since the 70's and do repair as well. ALERT! Home Depot's subcontractor delivered my new refrigerator which was purchased with basic installation included. I am female, 73,and live alone. As soon as I answered the door an alarm went off inside my head. The first delivery person (R) was glaring at me before I could even greet him. His body language was very hostile. He has a "flat" expression in his eyes which is difficult to describe. A moment later, I saw the second delivery person, a perfectly normal acting man called "A". R, from outside, grabbed my door handle, instead of waiting for me to greet him or open the door. He pushed past me into the room and headed for the kitchen. He and A (who was perfectly normal) removed the old refrigerator. While they took it out to the truck, I swept out the small space where the old refrigerator had been and where the new one would be located. There wasn't a lot of dust or stuff. I'd had back surgery recently and find it painful to bend, so I told R that and asked him to hold the dust pan so that I could sweep into it. R snarled, was angry and hostile, and looked very threatening. His loud and angry verbal response was "I don't get paid to clean!" I explained again why I needed his help, but he only repeated that he wasn't a cleaning person. I told him that I wasn't asking him to be a cleaning person, only to help by holding the dustpan so that the refrigerator could be installed. His hostile response was "Then why should I clean up after you?" I calmly said, "It was my understanding that this delivery included basic installation". R responded that holding the dustpan wasn't basic installation. At that point I was becoming more frightened, but I said, "Well, I have no way of moving the refrigerator once it is in place, and I don't intend to have it installed in this little pile of dust, so maybe I'll have to refuse delivery." He glowered and growled, "Is that what you want me to do?" I said, "No. I want you to hold the dustpan and install the refrigerator." He continued looking as angry, hostile, and threatening as possible and finally helped with the dust pan. Meanwhile, A stood back looking appalled, but was silent. Finally, the refrigerator was in place. They left together, via the front door to their truck. A moment after they left, I heard two or three sharp, loud noises from outside. Five minutes later, when I went out to get my mail, I saw the heavy wood railing which runs along the garden path to the sidewalk lying in the dirt. Its' bases go many inches underground and it had been broken at ground level. That required strength. Not only had I been bullied in my own kitchen, my property had been intentionally damaged significantly. I live on Social Security and cannot afford to have it repaired . . . if it is repairable, which I doubt. Home Depot and their subcontractor are supposed to investigate my claim. Their inspector was supposed to arrive here today between 10 to 10:30 and call if there was a problem. Nobody arrived or called. I called them to see why. I was told that the inspector would be coming sometime today. I was supposed to wait for the inspector, but they couldn't even give me an approximate time. I insisted on a time, because I had other things to do today besides wait all day. Given this level of "customer service" I have poor expectations for my damages claim. Anyone living alone and expecting an appliance delivery from Home Depot's subcontracting delivery service has every reason to be fearful, in my opinion. In all my years, I have never had any trouble with a delivery or service person who has come to my home. But, it only takes one bad individual to do harm to yourself or your property. DO NOT BE ALONE WHEN YOUR APPLIANCE IS DELIVERED. read more

Won't shop them again. Horrible customer service. Ordered walk-in shower kit for remodel. Couldn't get in-store, had to order on-line. Arrived 10 days late via carrier. It was a Sterling shower, as a Kohler company. 3 of 4 boxes arrived, have never received the 4th and no one is helping. Calls to Kohler, Sterling Company go unanswered and Home Depot won't stand behind product. Packaging was the worst I've ever seen, two shower panels had cracks. Can't order another because this unit has been "discontinued". Home Depot does not carry repair kit for fixing cracks. We should be getting full refund for entire unit, but dream on. Don't trust Home Depot, Kohler or Sterling. You will be very disappointed and frustrated. read more

I was immediately greeted by an employee who referred me to an expert that took his time and even brought along another employee to help out. As a long time (35 year fan) my enthusiasm for H.D. is slowly eroding. This store is chock full of lazy and poorly trained employees, and even management is unresponsive. There are a couple of departments that really stand out: flooring and paint. Rarely staffed correctly, and some of those have bad attitudes. Granted, there are some terrific people working there, but for the most part, I see alot of people unwilling to step up to the plate and serve the customer with what the original Home Depot was built. . Mega phone tree. They didn't know why card was on hold. Transferred me. Asked marketing questions about my shopping and recipient's use of card?! Refused, as it became personal. Robotic response. They then sent card. Called to complain. Giga phone tree. No direct line to complaint dept. that I could discern. I hired Home Depot Measurement Services to come out and scope my project: replacing existing floor with Pergo in some rooms and carpet in the others). The process was effortless, until I paid them. I ordered materials based on availability, but then learned that they needed to order materials because the transition piece was not in stock. ~1 month late, they finally started the job but had inadequate tools and experience to get it done. 2 weeks later, they called today to say they are finally "done" because they can't help me resolve the issues they caused.
