This is a great place to drop off yard debris, buy some bark or rocks. I personally like the ability to pickup a 5 gallon bucket of rock for small jobs around the house. They deliver too! They were right on time in the morning and did a walk through with me to see exactly what we wanted since our back yard is large and varied. I took a truck full of yard debris to Lane Forest Products, Springfield location, yesterday,(Sunday). Upon leaving, I couldn't find my phone and was frantically looking for it. I realized that it had to have fallen off the truck. We drove back towards Lane, hoping to find it on the road, but no luck. With no other options, I asked the employee at the gate If I could search in the mountain of yard debris. The loader had already pushed the loose debris into the pile so I thought it was it was a lost cause, but thanks to Jarrett McCoi, he got off the loader and said "Let's see what we can find." My wife called my phone and Jarrett heard it ringing. He grabbed a big rake and was able to locate it. It was unbelievable, I was so relieved to not have to go through the hassle of replacing my phone, plus all my personal data and pictures. If you've ever been to Lane Forest, you already know how much they go out of their way to help the customers. We've had Lane Forest Products blow bark into our yard several times now, and each time the team sent has been fantastic. They are quick, clean and polite. They've always made a point of making sure we're happy with the job before leaving. They're pretty reasonably priced and easy to get scheduled. One year, one of the guys went above and beyond, helping me with a small tree I wanted to get planted before they put the bark down, and he went out of his way to lend a hand. they penny pinch. always raising the recycling/dumping fee. the word dumping in there to justify charging for what we are really doing is recycling all of the material we bring in gets broken up and we buy it back. They have no concept of being able to charge us a very low flat fee at the gate and put all of the charges in the stuff that we make us feel pretty good about the folks bring in all of this material day out I've used this place. I've been stuck with this place for 24 years and I have griped at them every single time they raise the price like some sort of ghetto crack dealer in West Seattle it's pathetic. I'm never happy to pay the fee at the gate, but I love the guys at the gate and they do not have any responsibility of this constant pennypinching on what they say they love as a customer, but clearly they don't read more

We just finished completing a landscaping project for our backyard and the support we received from Lane Forest Products was indispensable. The job involved replacing a 20 year old overgrown backyard with a dry creek bed, a walkway throughout with 18" square concrete pavers, pebbles and small river-rock plus larger rocks and stones for accent. Now with several large Evergreen trees located in small island gravel pads the entire yard is a mini-Japanese low-maintenance dream. Was in for garden compost, paid for 1.5 yards got 1 yard and abunch dumped down the paint on the out side. Emailed to let them know they had a problem with light loads. Email from LFP was snarky and condescending. 20 years as a LFP customer, now a Rexius customer. Update: LFP Upper management reached out to get clarification on the events and see if there was a way in which they could make things right. This place is dirt dog heaven. First- you can ditch your garden waste for 1/2 the price of Lane county transfer center. ($4/ cft. vs. $8cft. I think I'm right on this- if not exact, I'm ball park correct) Second- they are OPEN ON SUNDAYS!!!! When most of us have time to haul brush. Third- They answer their phone & ALL employees are super nice and helpful: on the line, in the store, at the pile. Everyone we met was remarkably friendly. You can dump cardboard and metal on the way out for free. Then, the stuff you can get there. OMG if I won the lottery I would come over here and buy everything. You want firewood- they got that. You want rocks? Hooooo boy do they have those. And dirt and gravel and sand and all the ideas of what to do with it! Get me a gift certificate for the holidays. Thanks. read more

We are new to Eugene and needed new mulch for our backyard. The sloping of the yard makes it difficult to spread by wheelbarrow and shovel, so we had Lane Forest Products blow in the mulch from their giant truck. In a couple of hours they were able to blow 3 units of hemlock mulch in both the front and the back yard, right where we wanted it. The process was fast and efficient, and we are really happy with the results. read more

Update Garbage in Soil: Owner contacted us to give a credit, as this issue has occurred with them before. It is nice to have a credit; but, we posted on Yelp to raise awareness, not for monetary purposes, (esp. as one of our chickens died, possibly due to pecking/eating bits of trash in this soil). We informed LFP that we will not purchase their soil (discovered similar bits of garbage in mint mulch we purchased, too). I asked that LFP make their products, suppliers, and process more transparent by adding signage that tells consumers that soil may contain post-consumer inorganic matter, or something to that effect. Received no response. Have collected at least two cups worth of trash from their soil that they claim comes "from organic sources." Not only is this possibly harmful to pets, but children and adults, as well. read more

We rented a drop box from Lane Forest Products to get rid of yard debris and sod during a project last weekend. When we started the project we told them it was all yard debris and they did not mention a full limit. It ended up being more soil so we called and informed them of this and they didn't say anything about a full limit. When they came to pick it up we were then informed we had overfilled it and they could not get it out of our yard. At that point the truck could lift it but couldn't get it on to the trailer. They ended up leaving it in our yard for a week so we could move soil that Lane Forest Products had dropped in front of the box, making it difficult for the truck to move the box. (We had asked them to drop the soil in a different place but they disregarded our wishes). Now after a week the box has sunk so far in to out yard you can't open the doors and it rained so much the box is literally too heavy to lift. They sent another driver out but he said it could t be moved. My husband and I both spoke with Tony and he said because it was yard debris and not soil they did not have to tell us about the full limit, and because we called afterwards to tell them it was soil that it was our fault. Now we have a giant dumpster in our yard that we can't open the doors to. And will be charged full price for, and if we ask for help from lane forest products they will charge us extra to help us move the soil and get it out of our yard. Also the paper receipt they sent us does not have it written down that the box is for yard debris at all. At this point I just want the box out of my yard, I don't think we should have to pay extra for something we weren't warned about. They will send another truck out to try and dump out the dirt and charge us for another box and make us fill the other box. Or dump out most of the dirt and haul away what's left and let us take care of the dirt on our own. No offer of a refund or even partial refund and just telling us we need to pay more for their solutions. I used to love Lane Forest Products and would tell everyone to go there but now I will never use them again and will tell everyone about their horrible customer service. read more

I don't know enough about dirt or amendments to know whether or not they really deserve this 5 star review, but I will tell you that I walked in with no idea what I needed other than "soil without stuff like perlite" and no idea what I was doing other than "planting some stuff in the ground and pots". They helped me pick some stuff that will apparently work for both if I amend it correctly. I've never found soil without perlite anywhere else, not even online, and especially not for $5 a bag that would be $10 in most other places. I'll be coming here for most of my dirt needs in the future. read more

I bought lane forest products nature's best garden soil this spring and had dismal results in my garden. The peas hardly produced a crop. Bush beans turned yellow before yielding flowers. Cabbage in barrels were 1 lb lighter than the cabbage I planted in my clay soil. Flowers in pots didn't grow or product flowers. The only thing that did well was lettuce. read more

Wow!! What a cool place! It's like a wonderland of gorgeous plants and anything you could ever want for your landscaping needs:compost, mulch, gravel. They have ornamental rocks (big ones) all different types and colors and priced so reasonably. I thought big landscaping rocks would cost a lot. I have a great time when I go there, it really stirs my imagination. I have had their premium soil and then mulch delivered to my home at two seperate times. I was amazed at how curtious and helpful they we're when I called to order it. And they deliver fast! The driver was right on time both times and very accommodating. Been dropping debris and picking up amendments for years. Always great service. Someone to help unload and quick loading at pick up. Great for outdoor landscaping/gardening stuff like mulch, rocks, dirt, etc. however, for you indoor garden guys don't be cheap and try to use their outdoor soils and amendments or you'll get bugs. They're fine for outdoor. For indoor go to a hydro store to get indoor quality soils and amendments. But lane is great for lots of other things. read more

I went to Lane Forest Products to get some firewood and drop off some cardboard. I appreciated the fact that they allow anyone to bring cardboard in for free recycling. The service was fantastic. The guys were helpful, friendly, and the firewood prices were really good. Unfortunately, the wood is uncovered out in the open, subject to Oregon rain. This batch of firewood that I got will have to wait until next season, but I am happy with my experience overall. read more

I have never in my life met more rude and asinine employees. We live in an apartment complex and one of the staff came by to blow bark around our complex and blew cedar bark mulch ALL OVER my husband, my personal property and our plants out on our patio. My husband already has a horrendous rash. The shit hit our back door so hard it tore the screen. The real kicker was the asshole with the blower blew it all over my husband and made eye contact with him the entire time. read more
