When it's time for me to start my flower baskets in the spring this nursery is my first stop. They have so many options, there are multiple large greenhouses on the property. They have an indoor plant section as well that it very decently sized. I often find myself grabbing an extra indoor plant on my way out. I had been wanting to visit the nursery for quite some time. We live in Florence, so it was a bit of a trip. We were astounded by the selection and the condition of all of the plants. We were able to find everything we were looking for. The staff were all pleasant and helpful. After checking out we returned to the parking lot. Unfortunately, I fell getting into the car and the paramedics had to be called. Kim, an employee of the nursery, came right over to help. She called 911 and stayed with me the entire time. This is what all other garden stores should be aiming to be. Johnson Brothers has an extremely large variety, good prices, and exceptional service. The plants are vibrant, and the staff members are very knowledgeable. We took our daughter there on a Saturday and they had free crafts and snacks, which she of course loved. I was pleased to find San Marzano tomato starts, and my wife found some fun flowers for our yard. I almost need to bring cash only so I don't end up buying way too much. Johnson Brothers easily has the largest selection in the area, with numerous large greenhouses dedicated to various kinds of plants, trees and flowers. They also have a wide variety of roses early in the season, as well as traditional and organic vegetables. As far as non-plant stuff goes, they have a lot of large plant pots (nice ones too!), insect fighting solution, plant feed, garden decorations, plenty of good advice (they'll analyze sick plants for you) AND a gift shop. Most people probably just go here for plant things, but they also happen to have the largest selection of HOBO International bags, which happens to be my favorite brand of purses and wallets! read more

I have nothing but the most positive experiences buying my plants etc at Johnshon Brothers. Their prices are much better than Gray's and their inventory is excellent! I don't know what the other reviewer from this same year is talking about when stating that the hanging plants were leggy etc. They were NOT! read more

Until this year, I would have given them 5 stars. What a disappointment this year. In past years, I would have given them 5 stars, but the quality (not the prices) has dropped dramatically. I don't know if we should blame it on the difficulties that Covid-19 has presented, or what! Hanging baskets, always their strong suit, are pathetic this year. Leggy (not full as usual), and the baskets and bedding plants are in need of water. Really sad. We bought a few bedding plants today, but needed to water them immediately on returning home. I hope this is just a temporary problem, as I usually spend about $2000 a season here. We've moved on, and I can recommend Rogers Gardens, Rolf's Plants (at 11th and Chambers), Erwin's Plants on River Road, Gray's, and Lane Forest Products for gorgeous baskets. read more

Excellent experience with Johnson Brothers. We bought a number of plants from their amazing selection (a boxwood, 3 silver flame pieris, 2 dwarf Japanese cedars) in May. They were beautiful plants! Unfortunately they didn't fair too well under our care. So we wrote to Johnson Brothers and Dave gave us tips (mainly water deeper and less often) and allowed me to return them for full refund (at a few days past their 90-day refund policy). We came back today and they not only refunded our money (gift card), but helped us understand what we'd done wrong and trimmed the boxwood to save it for us (and were willing to replace if we preferred). Everyone we talked to was knowledgeable, helpful, and more than fair. We highly recommend them to to others. read more

The best nursery in the Southern Willamette without a doubt. With Gray's and others scaling back operations, this place just keeps meeting my high standards for selection, service, quality, and affordability. It may be a little out of the way, but that gives you a chance to enjoy some of quaint little Coburg's other locally owned businesses before or after garden shopping. You have to drive a bit to go there--it's sort of out in the boonies--but I think it's worth it. Great selection, and lots of everything. My best experience there was spotting a hanging basket with a bird's nest on top of it! They'd set it aside, apparently unwilling to disrupt the happy home. read more
