The supervisor that I dealt with was the very same--Class act, values you, treats you right and makes you want to come back. When we were in the other day we had some great help from Masaih (I hope I'm spelling it right, he told me the name twice). He was so kind and helpful. He made it a fun experience for my son and helped us with the items we needed when another employee just told us the store had none. We also were helped with the pool supplies. The store has been in stock with items we've needed on each visit we've had and we've had very helpful interactions each time we've gone as well. Close to home and always polite. Had water heater installed. I was warned by an independent plumber that the installers would hike up the price of installation, he was right. The installers,Bynum Plumbing, charged an additional $375 on top of the $700 installation fee. He said the gas line was installed wrong (not up to code). He had to uninstall the gas line to install the heater anyway but he still charged me for the labor. I would not of had a problem paying for the materials. On top of that he installed new shutoff valve on the line coming out of the wall but never turned off the gas to do it. I will never use home depot for a large purchase again. read more

It was my first time (not my child's) and the man running it was so helpful and supportive. It's such a clean, organized, inviting location, we go there to just look around. My 5yo asks to go there. A loyal and faithful customer over fifteen years I have personally experienced extreme racism at this location. The first incident a white female clerk intentionally snatched a bank card from my hand when I was going through my billfold to find the right card. I never received an apology from the store manager instead her behavior toward made me feel as if I was responsible for the clerk's egregious behavior. Thinking this was a one time out of the ordinary event I continued doing business at this store spending thousands of dollars to maintain my homes. If you don't believe lightning strikes twice, well I certainly do, this was the second strike. I was being waited on by a young man going through the self-serve with a two dollar piece of trim when all of a sudden out of nowhere a young white employee comes over to the check-out area, removes the lumber and asks me the length. I responded telling her, "It's about two feet" She snaps back and says, "It's 30 inches." I was bewildered at the young woman's aggressive behavior. I said ok that's fine. Before I knew it the manager came over to the area and began to berate me as if I were a child. She stated, "If I ever hear you talk to one of my employees like that again you will not be welcome in this store." I have not returned since that day. I informed Home Depot Corporate. They were very apologetic but nothing further as if my complaint had fell on deaf ears. I used to go to this store whenever I needed hardware/tools, Christmas decorations, etc., but I'll drive to another location going forward or go to Lowe's. Will try to keep this as brief as possible, but likely won't succeed. Ordered a Char-Broil brand Double Play 3-Burner Gas and Charcoal Grill in-store and paid to have it assembled and delivered to my residence (as we don't have a vehicle large enough to transport it and that's precisely what we told customer service). To my surprise, we received a grill in a box, unassembled. Upon closer examination, it was also the wrong grill (a Dynex gas-only grill). Called the store to notify them and we're then told that HD "doesn't deliver assembled grills," which didn't make sense at all, since that's what we expressly paid for. After a lot of back and forth, we begrudgingly bring the boxed grill back and HD agrees to refund the delivery charge. A floor manager tries to do the "right thing" (and I appreciated that) and tells us that assemblers are there that day and that they'll assemble the "correct" grill that we actually purchased and put us on a schedule for delivery. Unfortunately, the customer service rep (very kind, BTW) tells the lady who's trying to do the right thing that the absent store manager "above her" said that I would have to come pick up the assembled grill myself. Again, we don't have a car big enough to transport this grill, so the store manager, in essence, either (a) didn't care or (b) didn't take the time to learn about the situation before rendering her edict. I was told that if I had any issues with her decision, that I could come to the store the next day to speak with her. I called the store and was told that she'd be there by a particular time. I showed up to discuss, but was then told that she had left. I'll abridge the rest. I agreed to go to the trouble of renting a small U-Haul from HD to pick up the assembled grill that they were supposed to deliver assembled. I appreciated the store agreeing to waive the rental truck fee, but we're still talking about numerous trips to this store to deal with this. BTW, a lot of this sloppy communication: it's not that HD does not deliver assembled grills; it's that they do not guarantee a delivery time for assembled grills in light of the backlog due to COVID-19. I'm not unreasonable and I would've understood THAT if someone had told me that when we paid to have the ASSEMBLED grill delivered and given us the option: (a) want it fast, come pick it up or (b) wait a week or so, we'll deliver it. I'm told during my 5/4/20 visit to the store that the grill will be assembled that day. On 5/10/20, after not hearing anything from the store, I call the store to inquire on status, and I'm told the grill is ready. How would I have known? The extremely sweet customer service rep then tells me, "I tried calling you several times (on 5/4/20), but you didn't pick up." She's indeed sweet as pie, but why not leave a voicemail? She was sweet, but I know I had no poker face at this stage and I felt myself give her the Scooby-Doo "Huh/Argh?" face. I go to pick up the grill to cook Mother's Day dinner and when I see the grill, it had sticky gook all over it (that didn't look like it could be removed) and scratches on the leg. I then realized that I just couldn't take it anymore, so I just asked for a refund and raced to Lowe's to purchase a smaller, already-assembled grill that would fit in my car, so that I could rush home and cook Mother's Day dinner. In sum, the rather thoughtless, flippant decision not to deliver the assembled grill as we requested - and paid for - and the surrounding sloppy communication sent me the clear message that I'm not a valued customer, and that's okay. To paraphrase Stuart Smalley (young folk may have to use the computer thingy to search the worldwide web): "I'm a good enough customer and, doggone it, another Home Depot location or Lowe's will value me." read more

Do Not Do Business With This Store. I finally cancelled my flooring installation service today after trying to get it organized since July 2022. It took them months to get someone out to measure my house. Then, when they finally ordered the flooring, half the material they shipped was the wrong flooring and the installers said they couldn't do the work. The Home Depot supervisor then told me that the reason they didn't install the flooring was because I still owed $100 on shipping (which it turned out I did not as I had already paid the full $7,000 for the job). But it took the store another two weeks to correct the order. Then when the installers came in they claimed that the carpeting was too dirty to remove and I would have to pay extra to get it removed. I ordered them off my property and cancelled the order and arranged for Home Deport to remove their materials and reimburse me the $7,000 I had already paid them for work that never got done. read more

I had some problems with my truck rental from Home Depot. I realized when I got home and checked my email receipt that I was overcharged. Sent message to them about it but no response. Second problem was the right turn signal was not working properly. This made me nervous every time I had to turn right. I told the employee about it when I returned the truck and he said he knew about it and it was scheduled for repair the next day. Why did he rent me a truck with an issue that he knew about and didn't tell me about it at the time of rental? The employee who rented to me also was a bit condescending while I was going through the rental process. Maybe he was having a bad day, I hope he is not always like that. read more

Well, I guess I'll start from the beginning. My wife and I went to Home Depot on 7/2 to buy new carpet for our upstairs. We already had the measurements done at that point and were ready to proceed with buying the carpet (the measurement was done promptly after scheduling and the gentleman who came out was very professional. I have nothing bad to say about him or that process). We were looking to get it installed as quickly as possible, so we were looking at the 72-hr carpet line, but we also have several pets and considered the PetProof carpet. We were assured by the sales associate that if we were to go that route, it would be no more than 2 weeks. We figured we could wait 2 weeks--after all, we just moved into the house and didn't have furniture upstairs yet, and could hold off. Now imagine, our downstairs & garage are filled with our furniture from the move, to include our bed, so we were sleeping on an air mattress. Two weeks of this, not too bad. So after buying it, our sales associate told us that the estimated date for the carpet to arrive at the installer was 7/9--a single week after purchase, and then add a few days to wait for installation, and we're good. That's on track for two weeks! Fast forward to 7/12, after I had not received any word from our installer, and I was out of town on business. No word from either HD or the installer, so I called the installer to see what was going on--they told me they had not received the carpet and their system had been updated to show that they'd get it on 7/14. Nothing they could do about it, so I waited until the morning of 7/15 to give them a call-they had still yet to receive the carpet, and it still reflected 7/14 in their system. I called Home Depot and was put in touch with a sales associate. He told me that he would look into it and call me back in thirty minutes. He never called me back. I called that evening and spoke with another associate-he told me that it was to be delivered to the installer on 7/17 (a Monday). I asked to speak to a manager about this situation and he told me there were none available to take my call-however, he'd pass my info on to a manager to call me back. (He initially told me that there were no managers in the store at that time, but that's complete nonsense) I never received a call back. I called the next day and immediately asked to speak to a manager, who told me he would look into the situation and see what could be done about it on the following day (as this was a weekend and Monday would be the earliest they could figure it out). In his defense, he did call me back the next day... to give me more bad news: the earliest the manufacturer could have the carpet done was 7/22. Twenty days after we bought the carpet. After being told it would be no more than two weeks from purchase to installation. Twenty days and the installer wouldn't even have the carpet yet. Fast forward to today, 7/25. The carpet installers received the carpet and the earliest they can schedule the installation is 7/31. 29 days after purchase. So, thanks Home Depot. I'll be sure not to recommend anyone buy $4000 of carpet from you in the future. Literally the worst experience that I've ever encountered. I called Home Depot again to see if they can get the installation expedited for me, but I'm not expecting much. I'll provide additional updates as necessary. read more

I would rather go to the Lawrenceville location where the pros actually know how to treat their customers correctly I came in trying to get help with the wall and was met with absolute criticism by the pro working upfront of middle age with glasses, apparently he has a reputation for not being helpful because I got help from someone all the way on the other side of the store when I was lost trying to find the boards with holes in them and the guy with brown hair helped me and walked me all the way back to the other side of the store, where the pro was in the area of and could have helped in the first place, that guy was nice and helpful but as soon as I said that I was coming back tomorrow to get the items he lost interest and just went back I don't really blame him because maybe they were short staffed, but I was also planning on probably coming back tonight to get the job done and could've used help and maybe even would've been interested in getting a credit card but with no health and no assistance further without criticism from the pro who literally acted like I was stupid whenever I was trying to make a temporary wall for my basement. Just an all not the best experience and I would much rather go back to the Lawrenceville location or Lowe's. I really like customer service when it comes to my Home Depot's and I just haven't had this kind of experience before. read more

Asked for my plywood to be cut at 25-1/2 inch by 4 foot to give me 6 pieces and change. I got six 25-1/16 inch by 4 foot pieces... Returned them and the guy who cut them immediately said that's the machines tolerances. They won't be exact on each cut... Think about that logically, I have six perfect 25-1/16 inch by 4 foot... none were even off a 1/16 of an inch... but I'm told that the saws tolerances would not be accurate each cut... Love being told a line of horse manure from an associate. Anyways I said try 26 inch cuts and I'll go home and cut the excess myself. Home now and measured the boards are a perfect 26 inches. Guess the stars aligned properly and the cut started cutting, ignoring its tolerances and cut exactly what I asked for. Just watch who cuts your boards at Home Depot, I never had an issue till tonight and it's all because after the first cut he didn't measure to see if his alignment was on. Make sure they measure after the first cut, and this won't happen to you. read more

I would not recommend this Home Depot for anyone expecting decent customer service. My family and I came here looking for help with an outdoor sensor switch system for my dad's home. While in the lighting section a very gruff older gentleman looked angry and did not seem to care if we had questions. We ventured to the electrical asile, and I had asked a young lady for help. She told me to wait by the electrical asile and she would send someone over. She disappeared and never returned as my family and I waited for 10-15 mins with no one really seeming to care or check with us if we had any questions. So, I left the cart in the asile and went to Lowes off of Buford Dr. The experience was much better, at least they seemed to care more for their customers. read more

I was talked into buying an extended warranty on appliances I purchased through Home Depot back in 2018. As part of the sales pitch, the sales person indicated that I would be able to get a refund for half of the cost of air and water filters for the refrigerator. So far I've only been able to get a refund once on a water filter for that refrigerator, but nothing since as Home Depot conveniently doesn't ever have the water or air filters needed for it in stock. There is no option to cancel the extended warranty either as you only have 30 days after purchase to cancel, so message here is don't ever purchase their protection plans since if they can't deliver on the required filters, my guess is the service on a warranty claim won't be any better. read more

I went to Home Depot to order carpet. The gentleman that helped me was great. He was friendly, informative, and made the ordering and measurement easy. Next comes the bummer. I was given the impression that carpet would get ordered, and it would be quick to get it in stock and installed. Fast forward to the contractors repeatedly pushing out my install date to the point that we had to cancel the order and find another company to do our carpet. Lucky for us we found a great local place that measured, ordered and will be installing the new carpet 2 weeks before the Home Depot could even think about doing it. Won't ever be going to Home Depot for a project that involves working with their contractors. read more

Went in to get several things from different departments. Happen to be in the paint section when another customer came from the lumber and asked for help because he had been waiting for 20 minutes. I then went to the plumbing section where I searched for my item for 15 minutes without success and was unable to find anyone to help me. So I left without that particular item. I bought a garage door and the hardware that was sent with door was substandard. Beware !!! The tracks were 12'' radius instead of 14'' . The tracks were 3'' shorter and the brackets on the ceiling were bent to meet the wrong size tracks. The door only had one spring when there should have been two on a double door with insulation and windows. After spending $688 to replace incorrect hardware shows that Home Depot does not care what kind of stuff gets installed as long as they get their money. Clopay was the maker of the door. Why this store continues to allow people to park their trucks in the loading area and walk into the store to shop is beyond me. I bet if they have someone towing unattended vehicles, this would stop. I have always been a fan of Home Depot and have many great experiences at the Buford store, but tonight takes the cake. I bought a lawn mower at the end of the season last year - a Toro. It is one of those "guaranteed to start" mowers. I used it once last fall and then maybe once during the winter and then maybe 3 or 4 times this season. Last week it wouldn't start. I tried again this weekend...no start. Desperate to get the grass, soon to be jungle, cut, I tried again tonight...no luck. I called Home Depot. They said "You'll need to bring it in." I explained, for several reasons, why I couldn't bring it in. Next thing I know, Zach Tithof is pulling in my driveway. He puts on his HD apron and got my lawn mower going right there. It didn't take much, but he knew exactly what it was (ethanol gas) and told me how to prevent it in the future. He went on his way, and I cut the grass. WOW...all I can say is WOW. I never expected such great service from such a large company, but they surprised me and made my week. Thanks, Zach!!! I'm an even BIGGER Home Depot FAN now. read more
