The manufacturer from Amazon sent screws too short to mount my protection lens over my ALABAMA front plate. Paul quickly found the Metric 5 screws a half inch longer to give me the depth I needed to mount the lens. Ace is famous for having the "Helpful Hardware Folks". I him that I had back issues and I wasn't able to hardly move... I'm blind in one eye I'm and he chose not to help me.. he could have went to my car and grabbed my little tire out and took it to Wayne to plug acted like he was five years old and just couldn't do It.. Ace Hardware you can do better. I really do love you guys, but I don't like poor customer service... being handicapped, partially blind, and I have screws in my lower back. I was needing help that day... .. the man ride around the block from you took my tire checked it out pumped it up and sent me on my way... I'll give you a zero poor poor customer service... I come in there all the time... They have a "repair bar" where you can bring your power tools or mower, etc... and they will diagnose it on the spot. Thomas was very helpful in getting my lawnmower issues resolved without me even bringing it in. I just had photos and described the issue. Tiffany helped me find a replacement part for my auger and now it works again. These folks know their stuff! Before going to Lowe's or Home Depot, try out your local Ace Hardware first! They don't have everything the big box stores may have but they have the home town feel and can always order it. The prices aren't outrageous either. The lumber section of the store is in a back corner, and isn't a very large area. While I was selecting my piece of wood, several men would just walk walk in front and around me, without saying excuse me nor being verbal at all. It was like I wasn't even there, to them. So as to not get touched or knocked over, I had to move away from the lumber twice, even though I wasn't finished making my selection, just so I wouldn't be "in the way." When I went to check out, I was standing in line, and the cashier, Don, called the gentleman who was behind me up to the register to check out. That gentleman let the cashier know that I was ahead of him and it was my turn to check out. I had actually been standing in line for a while before the customer behind me even got in line. Don then called me up- he offered no apology. As he checked me out, Don didn't ask if I had found everything ok. Didn't ask if I needed anything else. Generally unfriendly. I just generally noticed a certain theme in this store, and I don't like the vibe. Maybe some diversity, in gender and/or race, would help offset that vibe.
