Changed my initial review due to another associate I worked with when I purchased & picked up my final glasses. She actually was the same woman who passed me to the rude guy. She ended up being so nice & VERY patient. She was honest about how the frames fit my face & waited for a while until I FINALLY decided to purchase a 3rd pair- NAVY GUCCI & I LOOOOVE them. My only for REAL issue at the Buford Costco Vision Center is there are no chairs or benches for folks to sit. The wait can be 30++ depending on how busy they are. They need a small area for thise who need a chair. Leaning on carts is not fun! They redeemed themselves & I HOPE that other guy had a chat with the manager I told. read more

The staff is generous, the portions are respectable, and with the right timing and a strategic lap route you can revisit your favorites without raising suspicion. I am not saying I built a loop system around the frozen dumplings, but I am also not denying it. Mom, however, has become something of a celebrity. For reasons unknown she attracts a steady stream of senior gentlemen piloting motorized carts who deliver pickup lines that have not been road tested since 1958. "Hey there, young lady." "Need a ride?" "I come here for the deals and now I know why." She responds with polite disinterest while I perform defensive maneuvers worthy of a Secret Service agent, gently redirecting traffic away from my mother and back toward the rotisserie chickens. This week's victory was finding a solid jump starter for my truck battery. Nothing says successful Costco run like leaving with an item you actually intended to buy, along with emotional exhaustion and a faint smell of sample pizza. This store would earn five stars, but inventory roulette keeps it at four. They do not always have the advertised items, and the restocking attention does not seem as tight as the Duluth or Athens locations. Nothing crushes the spirit quite like planning your bulk buy strategy only to find an empty pallet and a lonely price tag. Still, Costco Buford is a magical place, part warehouse, part buffet, part retirement age speed dating arena. About a month ago, I was told from a tire shop that I needed new tires- they were in almost desperate need. I purchased 4 new tires online via Costco and went today to have them installed. While waiting in the store, they called me and told me that I had plenty of life left in the tires and didn't need new tires. I would never have known if my old tires were good or bad- I had been told that I need them, and had pre-purchased them online. But Costco was ethical and honest. They refunded my order, told me to come back to have them re-measured in a few months, and when I do need new tires I will be purchasing from Costco. IF I wasn't a believer in Costco before, I 100% am now. Thank you tire center! Kudos to being honest humans and not taking advantage! read more

I like this Costco just fine, it has items that I can't find at other locations. It is usually very crowed. However I had a very unpleasant experience with the older Asian lady cashier, who had her name tag flipped around so it couldn't be seen. I had a large amount of groceries and I asked her for a box. She looked up at me glaringly and said, "Just relax". I was so shocked, as a 25 year customer of Costco, nobody has ever been so rude. I told her that her comment was rude, and she gave me a fake smile after that, and wished me a nice day. Lady, if you can't be civil, find another job that doesn't entail working around people. The sweet lady, Charity, at the door, is one of the nicest people. She greets me with a smile and sometimes at the exit we have a nice conversation. First to start the Costco membership is barely a fee considering how cheap the deli is $1.50 for a hotdog and a refillable soda is an unbeatable price and choose a slice or the whole pizza and it's worth it. I've heard they've introduced chicken tenders and a fudge brownie at other Costco's and I hope all locations bring in extra food items, now it is always crowded. First time experiencing the vision center. Loved it! Dr Kunle Oluwadare was great. We enjoyed his presence and knowledge, friendly doctor. Nothing but awesome service. The office staff was nice too. Affordable frames and lenses. Friendly optician, Pam. We were confused with what our insurance cover and didn't know what to do with the style and shape of the frame to accommodate the comfort of our faces. We 100% will go back to them. The selection of merchandise and food is great. The store is clean, and the staff members are friendly. We usually pick up water for the road. The price can't be beat! The price on Charmin toilet paper is also great, and with Hurricanes looming in the Atlantic, this trip we picked up a 30 pack - to last to end of September. LOL. Ignorant, condescending, unhelpful management and staff - who quoted terms and conditions that are we believe are illegal and against Costco company policy. We got a gift membership and did our first and last visit to Costco. Immediately on presenting our gift membership card to set up an account, the person behind the counter tried to upsell us to a more expensive type of membership. They wanted us to provide an e-mail and telephone number, so I asked about Costco's privacy policy. They said Costco doesn't have a privacy policy, when we explored that subject further, another manager said that Costco had a very strong privacy policy and stated that Costco would only share our information ... with the exception of "the floor company" and others and they would not tell me who those "others" were. They had no printed privacy policy available. Then they proceeded to tell us that if we signed up, we would have to provide a credit card number for "auto-renewal" - but on review, that's not what it says on the Costco web site - where there is a privacy policy clearly stated. I doubt that is legal in the state of Georgia. I just went to the store the one time and they want me to auto-renew already? Rude, condescending staff and management. Immediate upsell even for a gift membership. No privacy policy or protections, probably weak data security - just waiting for a hack and customers to get their data stolen. Which would include a credit card number that Costco needed to hold on to bill us to auto-renew in a year, which we didn't even know These are all Costco corporate policies, not a store by store thing. I do not want to do business with a corporation that believes it is entitled to your personal data with no protections for consumers, whose policies are contrary to consumers interests and needs. Dealt with another racial profiling employee/supervisor named Randy at the Costco Buford location today. 2nd encounter with him, issues both times. First time he tried to accuse us of theft, 2nd time he gave me a hard time on using my membership when clearly my name and address matched. I've been going there for 22 years and it's just been recently I've have to deal with this type of situation. I went in with my 9 year old niece while my 75 year old parents and 6 year old nephew were waiting in the car in the hot August Georgia sun outside. I had my sister's membership card and they let me in without any questions, I was only getting flowers to put on my sister's grave and that Costco location was unfortunately the closest to the cemetery. I stood in the long line for self check out and waited so long, and finally as it was my turn the worker asked to see the membership card then told me that the member herself had to be present. She was very rude, I tried to lower my voice and explain to her the situation without my niece hearing who is already emotional about her mother's passing. The employee then escalated by asking for the manager to come. At that point I asked my niece to step outside the store so she wouldn't suffer any more of that stress. The manager "Sonya" was somehow more rude than the other employee and didn't seem to care or even listen and just wanted me out pf the store. As if the $13.99 and $9.99 flowers were such a bargain that won't be found anywhere else without a member's card. As I was leaving another employee working at a random cash register for minimum wage loudly called me "a Clown" I honestly wish him the best and hope he faces the same situation I was in today. They probably didn't break any rules or regulations, but the lack of empathy in this place was astonishing to me, I'm sure Costco is not the place to look for empathy but I'm sure nothing would've happened if they just took my money and gave me the flowers. I'm sure they don't care that I will not step foot in another Costco as long as I live. I'm only sharing this because that manager "Sonya", mocked me when I said I will be sharing my experience in a review, I'm aware neither her or Costco will be affected by a review but my experience, and self respect still matters regardless. I have had a gun pulled on me in the parking lot over a parking lot in front of my wife and children. The crowding here is a public hazard. They do absolutely nothing to control the crowds, and now they add a line to get into the store to scan cards that doesn't work half the time. The used to have 2 entry card scanners and now they reduced it to one. When it is super busy they simply do not staff the store the way it should be. The self check out is a disaster and the line often extends towards the rear of the store. The employees are rude and move very slowly. Renewed my subscription with Cosco today since my lapse in 2022. I would have most definitely kept my $120 in my pocket and continued to shop at Sam's had I any idea the basic customer service would be so bad. The parking lot and store was crowded as expected on a Saturday. I got to the line to pay with my 2 grandchildren with me (both minors). My grandson wanted to pay for an item he selected with his own money. The cashier advised he could not without his own membership card. She stated the card paying must have the name of the person on the membership card. I stated they are minors that reside in my home. The cashier started screaming for the supervisor. The supervisor stated that was not a rule they are just trying to cut down on people without memberships purchasing items. She did say guest that were with a person with a membership could purchase. Then I get in line to to leave and the lady at the door who was quickly scanning the baskets decide to pull me to the side; as I had two receipts and pick up and count each and every item. This was not a scan this was a 1, 2 ,3 so on. If she was doing this to everyone, It would not have been an issue. I found some good deals and have no complaints about the actual store; but that is not the type of experience I look forward too. read more

Found most of what I was looking for with no trouble. Staff polite, one aisle blocked off, probably for remodel. The reason I'm giving four stars instead of five is the bakery. It is nothing like what I've read about Costco's famous bakeries. Very small area, limited variety, no pies or mini cakes and worst of all, most of what they had due to expire in one day! Phooey! Let me start by saying I'm a huge fan of Costco. However, our visit to Costco at the Mall of Georgia yesterday was a big shock and disappointment. The products and services provided were what my wife and I have grown to expect from any and all Costco's.....we've been members and active supporters since the mid 90s, We live two hours away from our nearest Costco (Greenville South Carolina). The Costco we went to yesterday is two hours and 20 minutes away and we pass 2 Sam's Club's on the way. We arrived at approximately 12 noon yesterday, Saturday, September 9. We knew they would be busy but we didn't expect the chaos we experienced. Yes, there were lots of shoppers and yes, this particular warehouse was going through a restroom remodel (to their credit, the gentleman checking our membership at the door was informing everyone of this, and letting us know where the portable restrooms were located. This part was fine, good communications. The problem was that the management at this warehouse was having shelves restocked, and not just in one place...that would be understandable. We experienced this from the front of the warehouse to the back. In the produce department a worker had the aisle blocked with a pallet of watermelons.....the refrigerated produce room was already blocked off being restocked. This backed up shoppers (families and their carts) into several adjoining aisles. By the time we had made our produce and watermelon selections and waited to get to the fresh meat case, that same Costco employee came by us pulling his pallet jack with the empty watermelon box/crate on a pallet accidentally bumping a shopping cart into my wife. No damage was done, and the employee didn't even know he had done anything wrong. I do understand that scheduling of labor and product deliveries can be a problem in today's market, but as a long-standing Executive/business member of 27+ years. I would suggest that restocking during slow or off hours would go a long way toward "total" customer satisfaction. It's likely I will remain a loyal Costco customer , but continued occurrences like this would entice me to stop at one of the several Sam's Club's that are closer and more convenient to my location. Sam's already provides a several customer conveniences that Costco does not, such as......Early hours for business members only.......Scan and Go apps, allowing customers to bypass the long lines at the cash register. read more

We just added this Costco location to our rotation. It is not terribly close to where we live, but it is close to where we play, so we decided to start visiting. In short, we love it! This location never feels too crowded. The parking lot can get tight, but people are polite for the most part. The cafeteria is great - the pizza is reliably delicious, and I recently enjoyed the chili for the first time. It hit the spot on a cold fall day! Great selection and layout. It is easy to find the things for which you are looking, and the store makes great use of endcaps to feature new and exciting sale items. It is generally easy to navigate through the store without too much congestion. This location may quickly become our new default! read more

Warehouse is fine. Terrible AUTO and online service service. Ordered four tires and waited two weeks for an appointment. At the day of repairs, I was told the tires were never ordered to another dealer and I would have to wait some more. I told the Buford location that I want to cancel my order, but said I have to call their dumb customer service and cancel the order. I asked why he couldn't do it and he said he can't. One star already. Called customer service and was told the order would be canceled. I received an email stating cancellation. A few days later, I get charged for FOUR BRAND NEW TIRES. At that point, I was so pissed off. Called customer service and they would do anything for me for their dumb mistakes. They told me I had to wait until they put the charge back into my account. Incompetence. Costco doesn't care what kind of member you are or if you exist. All they care about is maximizing their warehouse with zombies and continuing to bring people. They built it and we still come even if we are pissed. There customer service still sucks. read more

Costco Optimal was the worse experience. The guy performing the glaucoma test did not have a face mask, was touching his face, was trying to pressure sell the dilation exam and we were not impressed. The place felt dirty. The doctor was ok. He never wore a mask either. He also did some pressure selling and did not fall for it. What made this experience more TERRIBLE was having to pay. When my husband made the 3 appointments he asked if our insurance was accepted, they said yes. That's why we made the appointments. Then the woman tells my husband our insurance would not cover the exam and we owed $265. I could not believe what I was hearing. It was clearly bait and switch. The doctor then comes out and tells my husband for us to submit the invoice to our insurance company so we can get reimbursed. Either they do this to not bill the insurance company, because it's more work on their end or they do not care about the client and feel comfortable lying or both. Disgusting business practices. This Costco is clean and well organized. The employees are helpful and there are normally food items to test. There is no liquor store attached to this location. The tire center is efficient and the workers there are very helpful. We have gotten several sets of tires there and also get our tires rotated there. They call you when your vehicle is ready. It's a nice touch. The food court has the best prices and the food is really good. We love getting the açaí bowls. They are much cheaper than if you went to a smoothie place and the bowl is large and full of fruit and granola. I prefer this location over the location off of Steve Reynolds. read more

I bought a set a four tires from Costco I used approximately 50% of the tire I had 50% left. Tell me why those crooks and thieves. Want to charge me for the new tire at a higher rate without my coupon which when I bought my new tire had a coupon my forget 150 off they do not honor your coupon so by the time everything settled die I pay $204 for my tire guess what they want to charge me $204 after they said they gave me a $77 discount for my original tire. As a longtime Costco buyer, I'm sick and tired of my favorite things disappearing from shelves, especially with no warning when I buy them weekly or monthly year after year. It seems like the healthy choice items are disappearing from frozen vegetables to the almond tortillas to the Angie's boom Chica pop popcorn. What's next? No more organic vegetables? There's already a big? On the Costco chicken being organic as well as many of the other items that are marked organic that don't appear to be because organic food isn't huge and it doesn't stay good on the shelves. I've spent hundreds of dollars buying organic chicken and putting it in the deep freezer, just to take it out and it stinks to hell and is rotten and gets thrown out. I would like to know from a member of Costco staff if these items will be returning or not: Angie's room Chico pop, Siete foods gluten-free almond tortillas, and frozen organic peas. I'm sure they are more items that I have forgotten, but at the moment that's what is on my mind. I really hope they keep the plantain chips, otherwise there's not much purpose keeping my membership and I'm about to cancel the credit card and considering getting rid of my membership after the new year if there is not a little quality control and return of popular items. read more

I Went to Costco on Friday 8/12/22 & purchase 2 packs of pork loin back ribs (baby back). I was surprised to see that it was about $.10 less than regular ribs. I really thought I had a good buy especially since they were packaged the day before on August 11 and sell by date was August 18. I even spoke to a female butcher to confirm that was the correct price & nothing was wrong with them. Upon arriving home, I opened the first packet, I was hit with a bad odor & slime poured out of the package of ribs. The meat was spoiled!! I was in shock because I only buy my meat from Costco. I open the second package it was also spoiled the whole house smelled because it was so badly decayed. No way this meat was package the day before. It had to be weeks old to smell that bad. I had to drive back to Costco that same evening. To return the meat. Just my luck, the spoiled meat leaked all over the back of my car as I'm driving back to Costco. The slimy, spoiled meat leaked out and destroyed the whole trunk of my car. The lady at the refund counter in Costco did not seem surprised at all. She told me just leave the meat in the shopping cart. I was highly upset that Costco sold spoiled meat. Is this how Costco is now treating their customers? Is this the new scam to change the labels and sell spoil meat? Not only did I have to drive back to Costco. Now I cannot drive my car because I cannot bear the smell. Thanks Costco! Lady at podium for post stamps responded they don't have AMEX or VISA gift cards (rolling eyes) like everyone should of taken a "Costco course" of what gift cards they don't have available. What can I say that you guys don't already know?! During this Corona Virus time, I felt safe to be in the store. It was clean and not crowded. They took the proper precautions to keep everything clean and sanitized. The wonderful thing, they were stocked up on paper towel and toilet paper. Seriously. We haven't bought any in a long time, and finally needed some. It was a great weight to know where I could find it with my membership. Currently, they are also allowing the elderly and immune deficient into the warehouse from 8-9am to shop safely before the general population arrives. I think this is important.
