My father is 67 years old and never shied away from hard work. In a short period of time, my dad lost his wife to cancer and his mother the year before. Despite everything, he continued showing up and doing his job. Firing him two weeks before Christmas and weeks before his retirement benefits vested demonstrates a shocking lack of compassion and respect. This decision reflects extremely poorly on the management at this location. I will personally be boycotting this store and encouraging others to do the same. I cannot support a business that allows leadership to treat long-term, elderly employees in such a callous manner. Kroger, you can and should do better.
