H Mart in Johns Creek is one of my favorite places to shop for Asian groceries and specialty items. The store has an impressive selection of fresh fruits, vegetables, pantry staples, kitchen utensils, cookware, and household essentials all under one roof. The fresh meat and seafood departments are a highlight, with plenty of choices including live crabs and other fresh seafood that are hard to find at regular grocery stores. Everything looked well-stocked and organized during my visit. I also enjoy the food court and the restaurants inside, which make it easy to grab a delicious meal or snack before or after shopping. It's a great one-stop destination whether you're grocery shopping or just craving authentic Asian food. The store is clean, well-maintained, and the staff members are friendly and helpful. Another big plus is the huge free parking lot, so finding a parking space is never a hassle. The only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is that some specialty items can be a little pricey compared to other markets. I am from portland and usually look for fish that is mostly asian type. Buffalo fish is big hit when brought it here one time. A month later i want again to get the same. cooked it with all the dreams. Guess what.. I cannot eat even a single piece. The fish is being treated my I gues formaldehyde or chlorine. They tried to hide the rotten fish smell and i think that is usually at hmart. I got scared to buy fish again and that is out come from the 2nd attempt. After that I always buy at publix. Kroger is another joke. They display items for sale but charge more or if we buy anything that is deal, its not eatable at all :) read more

I needed some Jufran to add to my spaghetti yesterday after coming back from a Cumming appointment. I finally decided to stop into this Hmart location as I've passed it several times recently. It was completely dead on this past rainy Friday around lunch time. I'm not sure if this is typical or if it was the weather keeping people out, but I feel like most grocery stores once you hit Johns Creek and keep going north are generally emptier (at least from what I've seen compared to closer to perimeter stores). In any case, I found the Jufran after using the ladies' room directly to your right when you enter the store. The restroom was clean and maintained. The aisles were spacious, clean, and also maintained and fully stocked from what I could see. It was shocking going to an Hmart that wasn't wall-to-wall with other customers and carts like the Duluth and Doraville locations I'm used to. When I checked out, the cashier was friendly. Overall, I would definitely come back to this location to shop as it seems less stressful somehow. I'll also have to try their food court items to see how they compare to the other locations I've been to and maybe check out the Suwanee location as well just to satisfy my curiosity. read more

This Super H Mart is the smallest one that I've visited. It's in a long strip mall, and the large, free parking lot that it shares with all the nearby businesses looks like it'll provide all the needed parking for all customers. I stopped by in mid-November, looking for a couple of items, which it turned out that I couldn't find at this store and later ended up going to a larger H Mart. Except for the men's restroom, this store was relatively clean. Inventory on their shelves looked organized, but I noticed that there were a few dried noodle items that I found in two separate aisles. One thing that I found odd was when a cashier at one of the lines waved to me and said, "I can help you here." when I just walked in her vicinity, even though I wasn't pushing a cart, nor did I have anything in my hands. I just looked at her and shrugged. This location has a food court. It wasn't that busy when I was there on a Tuesday at around 12:30 pm. read more

This used to be my "home" Hmart when I used to live in the JC area, and I believe this is the smallest Hmart in the Georgia chain. Opening back in 2006, this Hmart has gone through a lot and while it is small, it is definitely mighty! Johns Creek is a slightly more expensive area, so you'll notice that the groceries are a little more expensive than the Hmarts in Duluth and Suwanee, but they pretty much have everything. I will say, even when I used to live in Johns Creek, I never really went grocery shopping here and I only came to pick up a few things here and there because I knew prices were much more expensive here. They still have everything a typical Hmart has. Food court has Korean, Chinese, Japanese, Korean Hot Dogs, Tous Les Jours (located at the exit), and there's also a MISSHA and a floral shop as well! Though I am only giving it 3 stars, this Hmart brings me nostalgia in many different ways and I have a true appreciation for this Hmart! read more

This is a wonderful place to pick up sooo many different things! Dried shredded mushrooms, Japanese mayo, seaweed, noodles, sushi grade salmon and SO MUCH MORE! Produce section is always stocked with an abundance of unique things that you just have to try. This is always a must stop when we are in the area! The only thing I have a problem with is that there is no such thing as social distancing there. If you go, do it on an off day (like a Wednesday at 10am) when it isn't crowded. read more

I love HMart. I can find almost anything on the fresh food isle. It saves me the trip to Buford Market. HMart is right behind Long Horn. It has a pretty big parking area and when you enter its doors you will be greeted with a smell that I can only describe as fishy, musky, fruity. I don't know it's just funky, but get past it. Inside is a wonderful array or fresh fruits and veggies, prepped food and lots of the Asian candy. They do have a butcher and seafood area, but I have never bought any of these items here. I do eat at their prepped food area regularly, I have tried every stall. The Korean, Taiwanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese foods are prepared fresh and are relatively inexpensive. You do have to ask for a water cup from your food vendor and fill your cups from their water cooler. Also when you are done eating, you must return your tray to the same vendor. It gets a little busy at lunch time which makes it hard to find a table. So just take it to go. If you haven't tried HMart, give it a shot. read more

A visit here is a "must do" on our list every time we come to the area. The food options in the eatery section have pretty good Korean food... at a pretty good price point at that. If Korean food doesn't tickle your fancy, there's other food options such as Chinese and Japanese. In the shopping area of Hmart, the fruit and veggie section offers a great variety that puts your local Publix to shame. Looking for unique snacks? From sweet coated crunchy tiny crabs to durian creme filled wafers, they've got it! We went on a Saturday while there were so many free taste testing booths through out the store. We tested everything from lemon tea and ramen to kimchi filled dumpling.... all so tasty! Not all staff here were very courteous though... so knocking off 1 star for it. I ordered the spicy seafood noodles soup, it was $13, with very little seafood, to be specific, there was two mussels and one shrimp n couple tiny squid rings. Il Yeon Kwon is a true American success story. Came to the states with nothing. Bought a tiny grocery store in Lynhurst, NJ in 1982. In two and a half decades he has over 27 stores with 5 regional warehouses and at least 2500 employees and revenues that exceeds 1.05 billion! You can't get better than that. The "H" in Hart mart means Han Ah Reum which means one arm full of groceries. Interestingly the original store (store No. 1) in Lynhurst, NJ apparently is still called that " Han Ah Reum" only it's off springs are called " H Marts" Atlanta having the 3rd largest Korean population in the world- Seoul Korea being No. 1 and Los Angeles being no. 2. It no suprise that there are 5 H Marts in this state. This particular location is probably my least favorite only because it's a bit of a drive for me and it looks older. The aisles are tiny and is pretty hard to maneuver. They do have basically the same stuff that other H mart carries except I saw a bit more Japanese stuff at this location. They also carry a lot of home goods and kitchen stuff than the other H marts. For those that say "well you can buy that here in the states" but the truth is yes and no. Its a matter of what you are use to. For some its a little slice of home country while for me its just a matter of practicality. Kitchen items have gotten super expensive and snobbish. (Seriously, $35 for a spatula? And its made in China? Ya no thanks.) I am left handed and finding a left handed peeler has been a pain in the rear. But here at H Mart I found a peeler that works for both left hand and right hand for under $3... Its little stuff like that makes H mart such an enduring place in my heart. Plus its not made in China so it won't melt the first time I throw it in the dish washer! read more

I really like H Mart and have been to locations in Illinois and New York as well as local outlets, but by far, the Johns Creek version is the absolute worst! Whenever they have a sale and you go to find an item, they claim it isn't yet available, sold out, or the ad is wrong. Half the people who work there are rude and/or claim they don't speak any english. I'm tired of wasting my time at this location because it is the most convenient. I'm hoping they close or get replaced with people who care about service and availability. None of the workers seem to care about anything. JusGo is much much better in Duluth! Or any of the other H Mart locations. read more

I'm a big fan of Super H Mart and while the Johns Creek location is not as big as the Duluth location, it's still a fantastic grocery store with a good selection of inexpensive Asian goods and produce, fresh meats and seafood, appliances, furniture, cosmetics, a bakery, food court, and more. It's bright, clean, and well-organized. The Johns Creek Super H has a small second level, though I'm not sure what's up there anymore. It used to be where the Tous Les Jours cafe setup was located (over a year ago) along with large appliances (such as coolers and refrigerators) and some furniture. Tous Les Jours is now located just inside the entrance. I think the Johns Creek H Mart is most comparable in size to the Suwanee H Mart. Johns Creek might be a bit smaller, but it doesn't feel that way, even on the weekends when crowds are at its biggest. It just feels less crowded, which is a good thing. The seafood section is cool because they have TVs mounted to the ceiling and aquariums installed underneath the iced seafood displays. This way, you can see both the fresh fish laying on ice and the live fish and other creatures (lobsters, crabs, etc.) swimming around below. Random note: Johns Creek H Mart does not carry any/many of the same preserved plums that the other Atlanta area H Marts do. read more

I am sooo impressed w/ this store! When U walk in, the registers R set up about 50ft, so, the entrance/exit is spacious. Their parking lot is huge & U can choose to enter either from two entrance doors. It's very clean! When I say clean, I compare all stores by their seafood area; if it has a strong odor & if it lingers within the store & very apparent in the aisles when U stroll up & down them as U shop. I found the Thai Coffee I wanted. Bonus is that it was priced to sell for two packs for under $7.00. They also carried CJ Korean BBQ Chicken Marinade. I did give them 4 Stars simply b/c they had rice all over the store. They didn't have it in a specific aisle; sprinkled here & there. I've been a long time shopper of HMart. Been going to their first location in Duluth since they first opened heir doors. This used to be a Kroger way back in the day. This HMart was my neighborhood Korean/Asian grocery store when I lived nearby. It's always pretty well stocked and organized. They have tons of Korean snacks available along with an aisle filled with various instant noodles/ramen options. Their seafood and meat/pork/chicken are reasonably priced. The produce items are fresh and also pretty well priced. Fruits are of good quality here and typically you don't have to pay an arm and a leg. Only thing I wish was that they stayed open later that the Duluth location. Most importantly do NOT sleep on HMart's food court dining options. Some of my favorites are in this one. Everything is reasonably priced and you have tons of Asian food options to choose from. The food tastes on point too at a fraction of the restaurant prices. The dining area is smaller here than at some other locations and a bit outdated in tables/chairs. Still a good quick lunch or dinner option. There is also a small Korean makeup/skincare shop inside near the front entrance on the left. In the back they also have a section where they sell other Asian household products including rice cookers, etc. read more

Discounted deli counter foods like seaweed salad can be picked up after about 5pm for half price. Check out the home goods area for cool stuff like portable grill, many rice cooker options, other handy things like bath washcloths. Avoid "average" produce like zucchini, it's more likely to be expensive than other places. Still, always find something to love at Hmart. read more

Reviewing Hmart in Duluth is like reviewing Walmart in Arkansas. It's an institution. Fantastic place to shop, even better place to grab a bite. Food CAN BE hit or miss, depending on the specific stall you eat at. Even two dishes at the same stall can vary widely in quality. My girlfriend and me were running to H Mart last minute to pick up supplies for the night on a weekday but didn't have time to make it to our local one in time before closing time. We both have gone only to the one on Buford Highway before this experience but never had any problems at that one before. This H Mart had a bit of a different set up but we were able to find all the supplies we wanted but one thing. Freshness this location is better for the supplies were looking for and some new ones than the other location we have gone to before. I had to take off a star since we came into the store an employee keep going over the store intercom every 5 minutes that how much time was left which just made us more in a rush when people were coming in as we were checking out at the closing time a bit before the closing time. I recommend this H Mart just not before closing time and we will come back when we are in the area! read more

I don't know what else it's there to say because it's Hmart. I gave it four stars because they don't seem to have the customer service you receive from say Publix. The grocery store is cleaner than Assi and Great Wall. You may not find all of the sauces and condiments for certain ethnic food if you are at this super market. I noticed they don't have a good selection of Indian or Southeast Asian products. Korean products are well stocked and easy to find. read more

Let me start by saying how much I love Asian grocery stores because of their authentic, fresh ingredients, great prices, super fun and friendly staff, and fantastic food options. That's why I was so excited to move so close to this H-mart location. Each time I've visited (I've been about 5 times) I've really tried it all- produce, fish, meat, kimchi's and the restaurant food. My experience with the produce is that it's not the freshest. Most of the produce I've ever gotten from there rots and goes bad within a few days. This is such an odd thing especially for squash (spaghetti and acorn) which I purchased there and it went bad and became a big black blob of mold in a few days. The kimchi's are good because they have plenty of options and their fish is yummy and appears fresh. Unfortunately the restaurant food was just not as good as I was expecting. I also love the HUGE selection of ethnic spices. I could spend hours there just perusing the aisles to make new recipes with their selection of ingredients. As an Asian food lover, I am torn by Super H. Yes they have so many varieties of everything Asian but sometimes with just a glance... Not fresh. Other times... Wow! Fresh and inexpensive. The food court will work in a pinch but I prefer a proper sushi bar, Korean restaurant, Chinese etc... My biggest problem with Super H is the terrible attitudes I consistently receive while shopping. I don't know who owns or manages Super H but I would have a serious talk with the staff. Rudeness will not be tolerated. I have literally had staff ignore me and just simply blow me off like I didn't exist. Not cool! Of course this isn't everyone but in general there needs to be an attitude adjustment at Super H.
