It's been quite a long time since I last visited Great Wall Supermarket. Ever since Jusgo Supermarket opened, I've been going to Great Wall much less often. The main reason is that it tends to feel very crowded, and the checkout lines can take a long time. The food court and shopping areas are usually packed with people as well. This time, my parents and I happened to pass by, so we stopped in to pick up some groceries and a few snacks that I like. Even so, Great Wall still feels like a lively and bustling Asian supermarket. The variety of Asian foods, snacks, and daily necessities really fits the tastes and lifestyle of many Asian Americans. Back then, I used to enjoy going there for BBQ rice plates, haircuts, or just browsing around for snacks and interesting foods. This is my favorite supermarket of all time. The ceramic dishes alone are enough to give this place 5-stars! I always leave with a new dish, bowl, or spoon to add to my collection. They also have an incredibly diverse produce section that rivals any farmers market. I only wish they opened one in Paulding County! Apart from being a large supermarket, they also have a full food court in one side and several businesses along the front. I always make sure to stop in whenever I'm in Gwinnett! read more

We go here at times for the fresh seafood, especially for the lobster, shrimp, and crawfish, always fresh. Then we have them cooked at a pretty good Chinese restaurant right beside the seafood market. They always do a great job of seasoning within 20-30 mins and give us free service since they always recognize us. read more

Hands down the best Asian supermarket I've ever seen. This place is unreal big with every option available. It reminds me of an Asian Walmart. When you walk in there's so many restaurants & businesses around the perimeter. It's a bit overwhelming, but in a good way. I loved all the different options. GW grocery is one of the most busy grocery stores that I have ever seen. They offer a variety of products. The store needs to repave the parking lot; there are so many holes. Also the store needs to honor the listed price. I bought 3 different flavors of bubble tea in the clearance section and price tag indicates 0.99 but cashier scanned the price at $1.49 for 2 flavors and 0.99 for the last can. She said different flavors are charged differently. I think it is store needs to label things clearly. Also had issues with the customer service clerk in the past as she is so rude, snobbish, and didn't want to refund incorrect price. Even if something is 0.25 cent, she still needs to help the customers because it is her job. The store smells bad and has lots of flies. I suggest the owner need to throughly clean the floor, chairs, tables, and other surfaces. read more

Dang! what a find! Love going to these Asian supermarkets where i can sample different quick and easy eats in the aisles. But the icing on the cake was the food court along the side of the left wall upon entry. Sushi, Dim Sum, Thai, Korean... I mean can you really go wrong here, this place was suggested by my Executive Sous Chef, who frequents Thailand 2 times a year. food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. Among us four that went, we went to three different food spots, the Chinese for a spicy dumpling dish, another for a huge Bao, and the last was for some Thai eats. All off the charts, hot, spicy, and full of umami. And we went home with about 400 dollars worth of groceies. YUM! read more

When I travel to different places, I love checking out the local grocery stores. Asian markets are a double bonus treat. Growing up going to the small little Asian market here was like entering another world. So, I had to check out this Chinese based market. Walking in they had so many different types of fruits. I bought stuff I never tried before and was in awe of all the different food items I don't really have back at home. We came right at opening, so it was not crowded (IYKYK) yet. Them Grandmas can be ruthless when it comes to getting the freshest and best deals. The seafood department in Asian groceries is like a mini trip to the aquarium. For the uninitiated, it came be a bit overwhelming for your senses. Fresh is best. There is a food court along the left side when you walk in, unfortunately we didn't get anything as we already had lunch planned elsewhere. In the back-ish area, there was an insurance office and some other business I can't remember. Definitely will come back next I am in town. read more

Customer service and some of the cashiers have the worst attitude, especiallythe customer service counter. The supermarket was packed when I visited. I was told by my friend that this is a popular Asian supermarket. There is a GW supermarket in NYC but it was good to see there is one in GA. This location has a food court on the left when u entered and a supermarket on the right. They have a bunch of selections and they were well stocked. We picked up BBQ meats for lunch at the food court for takeout. The food was decent and reasonable prices. read more

This supermarket was my go-to when my dad and I stayed in Alpharetta for a few months after the COVID-19 pandemic began. It reminded me of the stores back home in Shanghai, China as well as the larger scale stores like Ranch 99 that are all over California. Like other reviewers mentioned, the prices are super reasonable! You're able to find anything you need, and I will admit the size of the store and product availability does intimidate me. The food court is nice, but probably not as good as the one at H-mart. The cashiers take care of the long lines very efficiently. Lastly, I love that it is near a Sweet Hut location. Again, two errands in one! The only reason I don't go here anymore is that I live ITP and it is too far away. read more

This is another huge market where you find fresh produce of every kind from many places on earth. You will find fresh selections of your favorite greens here..cucumbers, broccoli tips, Green water Choi, Mustard greens, String beans, Green onions, and much more like grape tomatoes, mushrooms, green apples and Fuji apples and navel oranges from CA, want strawberries, they are plump and juicy and the raspberries looked as if they were just picked. I drove all the way from Charlotte NC to Atlanta with friends for a road trip because I heard that there were much better dim sum restaurants and Asian supermarkets. Yes, I agreed. It was a 3-4 hours drive. But it's worth. This Great Wall Supermarket was translated as 大中華 that it took me sometime to find it as we arrived very early in the morning. It is a huge Asian supermarket with all kinds of Asian vegetables, fruits, seafood, foods and produces. Theres a large food court with Cantonese BBQ, foods of the north & south China. If I live close by. I don't think I will cook at home. The prices are pretty acceptable and reasonable. Be prepared to spend hours shopping there. Great Wall Supermarket has been around since 2010. Back in the good ole days there wasn't much to chose from in Atlanta when it came to Asian Grocery Store. You can tell most of the shoppers here are Mainland Chinese because they'll run you right over with their carts and reach for an item that's right in front of your face and not say "excuse me". (To be fair Taiwanese women are just as aggressive I was at Zion up the street and this Taiwanese woman cut in front of me at the seafood counter so that she could get to the counter first! Wow! Seriously woman. Please don't tell people you're from Taiwan because we don't claim rude a** people like you as one of our own. Thank you very much!) If it weren't for the fact that they carry many of my favorite Taiwanese snacks I would just rather shop at Super H where they have a better seafood selection. The last time I was here there were so many people waiting to purchase seafood (this was a Wednesday morning) that I just went down to Super H which is about 0.6 miles away (according to google) They do have fresh duck and duck feet at a decent price. Really good prices but on a Sunday afternoon they were super busy and disheveled. It was stuff all over the place, on the floors, etc. with no one cleaning up anything. I'd be suspect about trying some of their items as it was tons of frozen stuff open and exposed all over the place with no covers or sanitation measures in place. I managed to grab some reasonably priced produce like strawberries and blackberries but I wouldn't trust the seafood. Fish packed on top of fish on top of fish. Live fish dead in the tank. I've been here too many times to count, but I've never checked in or reviewed. Great Wall Supermarket is THE place to pick up your Chinese groceries. H-Mart is the better option for your Korean goods, but for the cheaper and Chinese products, you must be a patron of the Great Wall. I remember the day my dad drove us to the 99 Ranch Grocery Store and tried to get groceries, only to find it was boarded up, closed and up for sale. Yikes. So when we heard about Great Wall, we knew we had to make the extra drive up I85 to get there. Cleaner than 99 Ranch but dirtier than H Mart, Great Wall has everything from frozen rabbit meat to dried fungus to fresh fruits and vegetables to raw fish to frozen dumplings. Seasonings galore, noodles and rices aplenty, sauces of great variety. They've also got your daily Asian household items like rice cookers and Mah Jong tables. The food court is also pretty amazing. Cheap, but you get some pretty good value for what you're paying. Buy some bread, Chinese BBQ meats or some dim sum, congee and noodles. Sip on some Chatime Tapioca Milk Tea while you shop (cash only). I could go on forever about the food... Overall, Great Wall is go-to Chinese supermarket. GreatWall Supermarket is the latest Asian supermarket to open in Duluth. If you are coming from I-85, GreatWall is west on Pleasant Hill, before the Super H Mart and just before the Micro Center. They're on the right-hand side of the road if traveling west on Pleasant Hill. It can be hard to see from the road at first, but turn into the shopping center with the OfficeMax. GreatWall appears to have taken over the old space of a Target. I think it's comparable in size to the Super H Mart down the street and both are a bit smaller than Assi. They're still in the midst of their grand opening and many of their products, especially the produce, are very inexpensive and beat the prices of their competitors. For example, you can get 20 limes for $1.00 and mangoes are only 25 cents each. Like Assi and H Mart, GreatWall also has a food court with Chinese, Korean, and Vietnamese food, as well as a bakery. The store is well-lit, especially the seafood section, where you can buy live lobster and take them to the food court to be cooked for you. I visited with other Yelpers and Emily R. decided to buy one lobster ($7.00) and have it cooked at the Chinese food court restaurant for $5.00. Free samples are available throughout the supermarket. One thing I like is the produce, especially the vegetables, all appear to be fresh and are already bagged for you. Overall, a nice addition to the Atlanta Asian supermarket scene. I've grown up here on Pleasant Hill since I was born and Pleasant Hill has grown so much into an Asian town that I love the diversity and business it has brought into the originally sleepy predominantly white Duluth. When it first opened about 7-8 years ago to compete with the giants across the street (H Mart, Assi, etc), people weren't sure if it would stay, because HK supermarket on Jimmy Carter provided some Chinese food already and so did Chinatown in Doraville and the H Marts already provided the staples. However, people forgot that most chinese people had migrated to Fulton and Gwinnett counties in the past 10 years, so the market was there. I love that it caters to 100% Chinese ingredients. THe cultulre, decorations, services, and etc makes me feel like I walked into NYC's or Philadelphia's Chinatown. Everyone who is CHinese will come here. IF you looking for some Chinese homie and you don't got their phone number or email, just sit here all day and I guarantee you, you'll find them. Everything here is affordable. The fresh produce section has fruits and vegetables that are cheaper than H Mart and Assi at times. It's kind of fun to compare and see which markets are selling what cheap. One thing I find strange is that GW seems to run on its own market and some of its veggies are actually pricier thank H Mart, but then again some of the Chinese vegetables here you'll never find anywhere else (except at Nam Dae Mun). The fruits are not bad. They aren't as beautiful as Publix or Kroger but who cares when like a gallon of blueberries is going for 2.50$. Can't be picky!! I love the restuarants in the food court. All are solid solid choices. You have to be. If you suck, you'll just make noticeably less business and get ousted. There's also hair cuts here for 10$ for males and houseware and kitchenware for those who love those oriental pottery and kitchen ware. If you've NEVER been to a Chinatown, I suggest starting here. It is pretty culturally diverse in that the young, old, well educated, and even non ASian population comes here. This place is the grocery store of my dreams! I come every week and it's literally like therapy for me. They have SO many different veggies and fruits from different parts of the world, which is what I mainly go there for. There are also tons of Asian products, lots and lots of noodle options (like 4 aisles! HEAVEN) and lots of seasonings, condiments and other groceries that you won't find in any other "regular" grocery stores. I always get something I've never heard of every time I go and am Never dissapointed. The produce is very fresh and really well priced. The only downfall is that it can get really crowded on the weekends, so your best bet is to go on a weekday is you don't want to wait in line for 45 mins. read more

This was one of my favorite Chinese markets in the Atlanta area until I started to notice that they sell bad produce and the meat and fish is not that fresh. Presentation wise, Great Wall is cleaner and better than Hong Kong supermarket. They also put away the veggies and fruits and restock them on a daily basis. They also pull the less fresh ones out and sell it at a discount in the first aisle. What I didn't realize is that these items should actually be trashed, not discounted so they are just trying to make money by selling people rotting items. Gross! Aside from my gripe that they sell rotting produce, the market does carry a pretty good variety of items for Asian cooking. They are more expensive than Hong Kong supermarket and the stuff they carry is less fresh than Buford highway farmers market, H Mart, or City Farmers market. The best thing about Great Wall is probably the food court inside the store. Most of the vendors look pretty good but I haven't tried most of them because I love Ping's Place and always end up eating there when we do venture out to this area. This store is a bit higher in price per item compare to surrounding oriental market. However, they also the one of the cleanest market. The serve variety of oriental dry food, cooking sauce, munch and more. They have live seafood section, butcher section, fresh veggie section. Their frozen section include ice cream, hot pot items. This supermarket not only have the full functionality of market, it also has the food court. I can tell you their food court item beat the typical Mc Donald fast food and more healthy. I wish this market was around when I was living in Atlanta. The store was huge. It even had it's own food court with different cuisines available!! I had just finished some dim sum earlier or I would be in line ordering the various foods. The market was big in square footage. There was a huge variety of vegetables, fruits, meats and seafood. I was told this was the only place you could get fresh duck, that isn't frozen. The price was affordable as well! Overall, this is a great place to come get your Asian groceries, Chinese specifically, if you're in the Duluth area. Bought king fish, sea bass, bombay duck and pomfret . Each and every fish was tasteless, stale and poison for the stomach. 90 bucks of fish was thrown in to garbage. On top of that I had a stomach upset. I dont know how they clear hygine inspections. read more

I stood there and waited 10mins and they just pointed to a different person and proceeded to help others. Worst customer service ever. And manager wasn't event working to talk to. So this is my 1st visit to an Asian supermarket since moving to Georgia. I really like this place. I visited in order to sample Chinese roasted pork at best bbq, which I reviewed.They have a small food court :D! While most writing throughout the market is in Chinese, if I remember correctly, the products on the shelves and behind glass look super fresh and healthy. I may not be able to name the foods or spices as posted in the store, but they definitely looked fresh, clean and affordable, especially the fruits, vegetables and seafood items (lots and they were huge-see pictures). The cucumbers were LITERALLY twice the size of what you'd find in a regular grocery store as were the bell peppers, and the prices were very reasonable. Came here for lunch at the BBQ Corner in the far right of the food court. The place is really loud. I like that because I have a loud 2 year old with me. I used to go here for dim sum with my grandpa years ago. Ordered a few items today and its been like 2 years since I came back here. The chives dumpling seems to be off today. The flour doesn't hold up the dumplings. As soon as you pick it the filling and wrap falls apart. We also ordered a two meat plate. The char siu was flavorful and the roast duck was perfectly crispy. I come here about once a week for specialty vegetables. The fish and meat department has always been stressful though. Fish: long waiting lines and unclear who is first. The supermarket tried to have a ticket system for a while but got rid of it because everybody including the fish personnel did not follow. Meat department is simply no communication, if you want any, be prepared to be yelled at. I stood there for 15 minutes in October 2019, and I was trying to ask a question and nobody seemed to want to speak. The meat personnel was so busy dealing with customers who didn't say anything more than a few simple numbers. When I was finally not being ignored anymore, this pictured Chinese guy yelled at me in front of everybody. He thought I am a nuisance for wanting to understand the meat cuts. This place takes care of most of your asian food and grocery needs. When you walk in you are greeted by lanterns on the ceiling, a lot of them. Then to your left is the bathroom, there are multiple stalls. Don't expect the bathroom of any asian grocery place to be decent, because you will be disappointed. You can take care of your business and move on. Then there are some awesome food court options, a total of 5 establishments. The one at the end called cantonese cuisine is rocking hard core, it is also the biggest. They have dim sum that you can order at any time of the day as long as they are open, and countless cantonese dishes that will make you feel like you are in HK. Now off to the grocery, not bad, i suppose, they even have chinese herbal medicine here, like gingseng and sea cucumber. Also balms and oils that are chinese. read more
