so good

Hands down the best Asian supermarket I've ever seen. This place is unreal big with every option available. It reminds me of an Asian Walmart. When you walk in there's so many restaurants & businesses around the perimeter. It's a bit overwhelming, but in a good way. I loved all the different options. I wish we had a GW in south Florida.

Bao buns that are as big as your head. Delish!

Dang! what a find! Love going to these Asian supermarkets where i can sample different quick and easy eats in the aisles. But the icing on the cake was the food court along the side of the left wall upon entry. Sushi, Dim Sum, Thai, Korean... I mean can you really go wrong here, this place was suggested by my Executive Sous Chef, who frequents Thailand 2 times a year. food is incredibly fresh and flavorful. Among us four that went, we went to three different food spots, the Chinese for a spicy dumpling dish, another for a huge Bao, and the last was for some Thai eats. All off the charts, hot, spicy, and full of umami. And we went home with about 400 dollars worth of groceies. YUM!

The supermarket was packed when I visited. I was told by my friend that this is a popular Asian supermarket. There is a GW supermarket in NYC but it was good to see there is one in GA. This location has a food court on the left when u entered and a supermarket on the right. They have a bunch of selections and they were well stocked. We picked up BBQ meats for lunch at the food court for takeout. The food was decent and reasonable prices.

This place is huge..

The hunger for best Asian wares and food products will find you at the GW, Great Wall Supermarket in Duluth, GA. This is another huge market where you find fresh produce of every kind from many places on earth. You will find fresh selections of your favorite greens here..cucumbers, broccoli tips, Green water Choi, Mustard greens, String beans, Green onions, and much more like grape tomatoes, mushrooms, green apples and Fuji apples and navel oranges from CA, want strawberries, they are plump and juicy and the raspberries looked as if they were just picked. Special items like Asian pears and red cherries and salted kelp and sliced lotus roots and peeled garlic, and let's not forget stalks of fresh leek. I could go on and on, but we also need peanut oil and canola oil and black sugar milk tea and, yes, 90% ground beef from the butcher section. Walk around this huge GW store for other than fruits and produce and let you peruse through aisles stocked full of far away products from package dry to frozen stiff from pharma to personal hygiene from cooking pots to housewares. If this walking is making you tired and hungry. stop at the foodcourt for Thai or sushi or Korean or Chinese offerings. GW, the Great Wall Supermarket is truly a one-stop to get it all. It's a great competitor for getting the best bang for your Asian flavors and American dollars.. They accept all CC.

Rude cashier.....

Rude cashier..... I know "customer service" is not your top priority; however do not expect the customer to bag their on groceries. There is a difference between helping cashier to bag the groceries versus expecting customer to do it. I have no problem help cashier to bag my groceries, but don't open the groceries bags and throw it right there and expected me to put my own groceries in it and you ( cashier) walked away. NO MA'AM..... I do not play that kind of games.

Got bugs in the rice and I was not able to return it and they didn't want it back. Cashier are rude and don't speak a word of English.

Great Wall Supermarket has been around since 2010. Back in the good ole days there wasn't much to chose from in Atlanta when it came to Asian Grocery Store. There was Oriental Food Mart https://www.yelp.com/biz/oriental-food-mart-atlanta?uid=FdPioXvctMq8lhBtd_NnTg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) Dinho Market https://www.yelp.com/biz/oriental-food-mart-atlanta?uid=FdPioXvctMq8lhBtd_NnTg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) and when 99 Ranch was still around that was a great place to buy Taiwanese food and snacks. Great Wall Supermarket is based out of New York and I believe it has 16 locations mainly in the East coast. According to their website they just opened a location in Houston in 2016 https://www.yelp.com/biz/great-wall-supermarket-houston?uid=FdPioXvctMq8lhBtd_NnTg&utm_campaign=www_business_share_popup&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=(direct) The location is a bit sketchy if you don't know where it is....the shopping center itself sorta sits on the bottom of a slope and if you didn't know any better you would think it was on its last leg..... In the past 2-3 years GW has cleaned up their act. The last time I was here I thought the place could use a good scrub down with bleach. But it looks like management has stepped up and been keeping the place in good shape. The place carries mainly Chinese, Taiwanese, some Korean, Hispanic and some Vietnamese products. You can tell most of the shoppers here are Mainland Chinese because they'll run you right over with their carts and reach for an item that's right in front of your face and not say "excuse me". (To be fair Taiwanese women are just as aggressive I was at Zion up the street and this Taiwanese woman cut in front of me at the seafood counter so that she could get to the counter first! Wow! Seriously woman. Please don't tell people you're from Taiwan because we don't claim rude a** people like you as one of our own. Thank you very much!) If it weren't for the fact that they carry many of my favorite Taiwanese snacks I would just rather shop at Super H where they have a better seafood selection. The last time I was here there were so many people waiting to purchase seafood (this was a Wednesday morning) that I just went down to Super H which is about 0.6 miles away (according to google) They do have fresh duck and duck feet at a decent price. I didn't see any rabbit but I know Super H sells them frozen. When it comes to Japanese treats and snacks they can't be beat....they have it all and the prices are pretty competitive. Overall its a good place to shop. Never had problems with service here just the customers..... 1344th review 5/3/2018 264th for 2018

HMart has been my go to grocery store for anything Asian. They have a good variety of produce and…read moreusually pretty fresh, there are times where the veggies are just wilted and minimal selections, but most of the time it's pretty decent. The past couple of times I've been here (probably 3 times within 2 weeks), their shelves look scarce, not sure if that's the combination of everyone getting groceries at the same time because of the ice storm and they not being able to get deliveries due to weather. Every trip to HMart, I stock up on meats (pork bellies, beef bulgogi slices, marinated chicken), veggies like radishes, bok choy, watercress, ginger, garlic, cucumber, tofu, and mushrooms. I also get the large tub of Kimchi, a large bag or 2 of rice cakes, and a whole bunch of the banchan. They have such a large array of them, it's always hard to decide which ones to get.

As much as I love the vast selection of foods at the supermarket, there's been a number of things…read morethat have been turning me away in the past several years. Not at any other H-Marts, but at this Duluth location, things have just gone awry in the past few years. For one, they allow religious harassment at their door. I really don't appreciate being flagged down and chased by Bible "advocates" outside their door. I find that really intrusive, and bordering harassment. One time, this bawdy Korean lady chased me toward my car with this religious pamphlet...when I clearly told her "NO"...not interested. I mean, what more can I do or say without being chased like that??? So rude! I can't believe H-Mart is letting these folks harass their customers like this. Not all the people that shop at this mart is a Catholic, or Christian, or religious at all. Even if they are, they STILL may not wish to be harassed like this. For some folks, religion (or spirituality) is a personal thing. Religious harassment is so offputting...and inappropriate? I mean, this is a supermarket!!! It's just beyond the pale. This right here made me drop 2 stars off the bat! Then their weird food court hours. I mean, most food courts are up and running from 11 am on...but here, they start opening past 12 pm. I think on the day I was there, they were opening the food court closer to 12:30! That's just not acceptable. Lastly, I find their layout extremely awkward and uncomfortable to manuever around.

Fabulous selection, excellent prices, wonderful staff and service make Mega Mart in Duluth a 5 star Korean market. Bonus kudos for great music and positive vibes here. Overall We loved our…read moreexperience at Mega Mart. It's huge, clean, well organized, and feels like a fun mini cultural experience, not just a grocery run. We'd absolutely come back. Store Size and Selection This place is very, very big with a strong selection of Korean groceries and everyday staples. What surprised me most was how much more there is beyond food - tons of interesting cookware, cooking tools, and fun items to browse. Produce and Freshness The fresh produce was top quality and noticeably fresh. You can tell this store serves a community that expects high standards, and the quality shows. Prices and Deals There were a lot of sales and discounts throughout the store. Great value overall, especially considering the freshness and variety. Samples and Experience The sampling situation is next level - way more sample corners than you'd ever expect Costco to provide. Sample sizes are smaller than Costco, but it's still totally worth it because you get to try a wide variety of Korean flavors. It felt like tasting little snippets of Korean culture as you shop. Service, Cleanliness, and Atmosphere Everyone we interacted with was so kind and helpful, and the service was amazing. The store was also very clean. Bonus: the music was clearly catered to millennials (late 20s to 40s), and it genuinely brought back childhood and teenage nostalgia. Inside Businesses (Restaurants, Salons, Etc.) We also enjoyed that there are restaurants and salons inside. Everything looked nice, and pricing seemed pretty reasonable. Why it stands out in Duluth Duluth has a strong Korean community, and Mega Mart really reflects that in the quality, freshness, and overall experience. Would we return? Yes - 100%. If you want great produce, strong deals, lots of Korean variety, and a fun shopping experience, this is a must visit.

Overall This market…read morewasn't what we expected based on the name. "Namdaemun" immediately made us think of the famous open market area in Korea and we assumed the store would be Korean focused. In reality, the selection and overall vibe leaned overwhelmingly Hispanic and Latin American, with very few Korean items. Name vs Reality The name feels misleading. We came in expecting a Korean grocery market concept, but most of the products (including the bakery) were predominantly Hispanic. The shopper base also didn't feel very Korean, so it didn't come across as a Korean market experience. Selection If you are looking for Hispanic, Latin American, South American, or Central American groceries and produce, this place may actually be a solid option. It just doesn't match what the "Namdaemun" name implies. Atmosphere and Cleanliness The atmosphere felt more like a discount store than a bright, modern market. The store felt more cramped and less clean, open, and bright compared to places like H Mart or Mega Mart. Visually, it also leaned more flashy and cluttered rather than clean and curated. Who I would recommend it for I'd recommend this market for shoppers specifically seeking Hispanic or Latin American grocery items and produce. If you're coming in expecting a Korean market experience because of the name, you may be disappointed like we were. Would we return? Probably not for what we were originally looking for, but I can see it being useful for people shopping for Latin American ingredients and products.

A trip around the world and a walk down memory lane…read more It's been decades since I stepped foot inside the Buford Highway Farmers Market, and being back felt like a beautiful reunion. The last time I walked these aisles, I was with my mama, Donna Theresa. So much has changed since then, yet the soul of this place remains as vibrant as ever. It feels more expansive than I remember. A true global treasure tucked right here in the city. I'm still obsessed with how they organize the aisles by country. In just one afternoon, I traveled from Korea to Eastern Europe to Central America, no passport required! I was officially "team sample" the moment they offered! Unlike the heavy, sugary profile of traditional American cakes, these were a masterclass in balance. I tried the Neapolitan, a stunning phyllo-layered creation that was light, buttery, and perfectly textured. But the Lemon Cream Cake? It stole the entire show. It looked picture-perfect on the shelf, and the taste was even better. It was so bright, airy, and just the right amount of decadence. Coming back here wasn't just a grocery trip; it was a win for my palate and my heart. Now that I'm back in the area, you can bet this is becoming a regular stop on my rotation.
