I think Zion Market is OK/fine. It's not bad. This is a large Korean grocery store, a direct competitor to nearby H Mart and Mega Mart. I prefer H Mart because H Mart stores have food courts and they offer more and better quality food and products overall. However, where I think Zion has H Mart beat is pricing. Getting groceries here is more affordable. I think the prices here are generally comparable to Mega Mart, if not, cheaper. That said, you also get what you pay for. For example, the chicken here is cheap. My wife decided to pass on the chicken here and get higher quality, organic chicken at Publix on the way home. On the other hand, if you pick right/get lucky, you can get decent quality produce at rock bottom prices. Beware though, they also sell produce close to, on, or past their "best by" dates. We noticed some of the packaged produce were past their best by dates. Be sure to check expiration dates. We were looking for miso paste and noticed some of the miso paste on the shelves had already expired. Expired products on shelves happens at my neighborhood Kroger too. In general, this market has cheap produce and tons of Korean frozen and packaged food products. They stock a wide variety of dumplings, noodles, and other delicious snacks and drinks. They carry a ton of Lotte products. Like the other markets, there are free food samples and an assortment of stores, albeit on a smaller scale, such as a cosmetics counter, a health and wellness shop (specializing in massage chairs and expensive LED masks), and a Korean red ginseng stall. They have a sizable meat and seafood department with butchers and fishmongers. In the freezer, I noticed whole octopus for $11.99/lb (about $25-30 for a whole one). They also sell a bunch of housemade ready-to-cook or ready-to-eat foods like pollack soup kits (complete with veggies and all, $10.99 per kit) and acorn gel packs ($5.99 per pack). There's a stall in one of the back corners called "Mom's Taste" where old Korean ladies prepare things like gimbap (Korean "sushi" or seaweed rice rolls). There's a Tree Story Bakery & Cafe location inside near the exit. Use the Zion Market Rewards app to get coupons, deals, and earn loyalty points which can be redeemed for discounts on future purchases. Restrooms are located in the back on the 2nd floor. All announcements made over the intercom are in Korean so it feels like you're in a foreign country when you're here. Zion opened in 2017 next to Micro Center in Duluth. This is currently the only location in Georgia. There are other Zion locations in Southern California and one in Texas outside of Dallas. In the end, for Asian groceries, my wife (who is the real grocery shopper and cook in this marriage) prefers H Mart and Buford Highway Farmers Market, and even Jusgo, to Zion. That's not to say Zion is bad. It's just that there are several more preferable options in metro Atlanta.

If I were to review Zion Market when it first opened around five years ago, I would give this place a 5/5. However, Zion really did fall in terms of quality and only rise in price in the last few years. When I used to grocery shop, I would immediately only come to Zion because they had the better produce, they had the better sales, but maybe because of inflation, it really isn't the case anymore. Nevertheless, Zion Market in Duluth still is a great place to grocery shop, and I like it because it's always less crowded than Hmart. The place is maybe half the size of Hmart, but it still has everything you need and there are even some food items that Hmart doesn't carry (like Korea's NoBrand items). Unfortunately, Zion Market doesn't have a food court (unlike the Zion's I've visited in DFW and LA), but they have a prepared foods station, which is actually pretty good! And they also have a Tree Story Bakery located near the exit of the market. Zion's Rewards program is also better IMO than Hmart -- it allows you to redeem your points directly from the App & lets you redeem as low as 200 points (vs. Hmart where you have to visit Guest Relations to claim your points and you have to have a minimum of 1000 points). I would still say Zion is a "good" supermarket, but I just don't know if it beats the threshold of a five-star supermarket at this point.

Zion is a smaller Asian market but it's kept clean. The meats are good quality and well trimmed my favorite place to buy meat. In my opinion the meat quality is better than Any other grocery store in Duluth. ( including H-Mart, Mega-mart or other Chinese Market around duluth Area). Sometimes buy pork belly and bulgogi already marinated here as well. The seafood selection is somewhat limited but fresh. Checkout is quick. Nice place to shop. But vegetables and other selection it's not a five star Quality that reason I give 4 stars.

Asian market located right next door to Micro Center. The market has a fresh seafood section as well as fresh meals prepared to go for eating. Smaller market than the H Mart up the road however good selection of items. They also have a Tree Story inside which is a bakery. They also have some sale items as you walk inside the grocery. They had some really good deals on some blankets for $34.99.

Zion Supermarket is a Korean Super Market based out of San Diego, Ca. They currently have 6 locations mainly in California. This location in Duluth is the company's only location in the state of Georgia. They're located in an area where there are at least half a dozen or more Asian grocery store within a couple of miles radius. How they stay ahead in such a competitive market is by being good at what their competitors are not good at.... Size: Super H-Mart is massive for those that only want to pick up a few items Zion is the better choice. They don't carry everything but have most of the best sellers. Price: Super H-Mart has competitive pricing but not on everything. Zion on the other hand seem to be cheaper than H Mart at most things. Also when an item goes on sale they're a super bargain. Service: Super H Mart can be a hit or miss on service while Zion seem to thrive on friendly cashiers and smiling people in the meat-seafood department. The verdict: I think Zion is a better store just wish they were closer to me than Super H. 1349th review 5/4/2018 269th for 2018

Zion market is a fairly new grocery store that mainly sells produce, meats, and Asian (korean) products. I usually like to shop here for groceries because they always have great sales, and their produce is always pretty fresh. The produce is located on the left side of the market, meats and seafood are in the back, frozen foods are in the middle aisles, and eggs are in the back corner on the right side of the market. If you want to see what's on sale for the weekend, they have it posted on their website for the Duluth location. The workers are pretty friendly, and the parking lot is huge which is a big plus. However, it can get super busy on the weekends, so go early if you want to find parking easily. This market is right next to Micro center, and behind Krispy Kreme!

Beware of meats ... they are packaged so they don't show how much fat there is.. its a bit dishonest IMO.

I like Zion having been twice now find that prices will change quickly my thoughts are they are trying to move product instead of sitting on it and throwing it out, this is a win win for everyone. Some of the sales you will see are 2/3/5 for one price, what I found out is that you do not have to buy them all. For example 2 bunches of fresh spinach at $.98, know you can buy one which is great no more waste. Meat and poultry know that you have tons of choices with prices to match. Looking for wings they have large flaps and drums in separate containers. Seafood selection is o.k. when asking about the three types of shrimp offered at the time all were "farmed" this was a pass. Finding frozen clams was a surprise for tofu soup. In a hurry or just want something healthy beautiful sashimi bowls are grab and go for under $12.00.

It's new so the prices are unbeatable. We'll have to see how prices look in 6 months. Another thing I would like to see in about a year is the cleanliness. Hmart is old and beat down but they won't do anything about it bc they're relying on the brand. Furthermore, Zion's aisles are wider, design is more thought out, and the store is better maintained. Have you ever walked into an Hmart restroom? Hate to pick on them but getting tired of Hmart not caring about their customers. For now, Zion is a pleasant shopping experience. A Tree Story bakery is coming in soon. Zion doesn't have the small stores inside nor a good court but I don't ever utilize those does anyways. They can use that space to not cram the store. The workers I encountered were friendly. Maybe this'll put Hmart on notice.

I'm not sure if ME is the bad customer service cashier or not. The other receipt showed cashiers name but thisnone just says ME.
    Cloudia L.

There is this white cashier that should be fired. She was giving attitude to because my mother took the card out from the card reader early when she said "do not take it out." My mother heard it as "take it out". She then says with an attitude and hand gestures "ugh! I SAID NOT TO TAKE IT OUT!" in front of all the customers!!! What in the world? Are you serious? Usually who says DO NOT TAKE IT OUT, they usually say"you can now take it out" I walked up to her and said "is this how you treat customers? She totally ignores me and one korean guys walks over and starts counting next customers mangos and the cashier and the guy just laughs and ignored us. (Funny thing is the customer behind us was like, "why are you counting our mangos when other transaction is not even completed.) Seriously wanted to call the manager to complaint for giving attitude to customers. I am still so upset and would not want to visit this store again just for the bad service I had! Btw, this is a Korean market and there are Koreans who live in the states that does not speak English, that's why they go to Korean market to purchase products. But Zion Market only hired non-koreans as their cashiers. Harder for our parents generation to even ask questions to cashier. One more, I was there over the weekend and it was busy and there were only 2 registers opened and people were just waiting in line to get their shit done. But sure looks like the management only wants to save money and hire just 2 cashiers on a busy ass weekend and get all the customer pissed off. Rather go to H mart or Assi, they are faster than this market.

New Supermarket (Korean) that opened in Duluth. It's located next to Micro Center. Therefore, it's kind of hard to notice, behind Krispy Kreme. Opened on 04/13/2017. So a lot of patrons are expected. However, newly opened supermarket, you would think they'll open up all 9 or 10 register. Instead, only 5 registers were open, hence the long crowded line. I came to the market for freebies because that's what Asian markets do, they give out freebies when newly opened. Other than the freebies, I bought tons of groceries like fruits, snacks, veggies, etc., I even stopped by Krispy Kreme and got a donut. Although it's irreverent, I blame on the market. Anyhow, market is not that big like Super H Mart, Assi, or even Great Wall. It's medium sized market with variety of veggies but just in small quantity. Easy for me to go in and get out. However, I felt that the parking was not as spacious as I thought it would be even though it was sharing the big parking lot with Microcenter. It was bit crowded and tight. Oh also, watch out for people who just leave their carts everywhere in the parking lot. I meant literally everywhere! Smh! They got real good prices, not sure if they'll always have good prices but at least they did today. I heard Zion Market is a popular supermarket from California. Like other markets, they also have small section with home cooked snacks like spicy rice cakes, Korean pan cakes, Kimbap, etc., They also have lot of samples for you to try. Red bean buns 5 for $5, Cold noodles 3 for $10, Bananas 3lb for $.99, and many more deals. Here are the freebies they were given out: Free pack of dried salted Seaweed, Spicy Gochujjang (Korean hot sauce) pack, and more seaweed pack and healthy rice when you exit the market. It doesn't matter how much you buy. Each person gets one. You just gotta look for the pretty lady that's handing out the freebies inside the market.

Review for H Mart H…read moreMart is one of my favorite Korean grocery stores--ever. I remember when they first opened locations in the Bay Area in places like San Francisco and San Jose, and I would gladly make the trek just to shop there. I've never been disappointed. The stores are always clean, organized, and full of incredible food options. What really makes H Mart special, though, is that it's more than just a grocery store--it's an experience. Inside this massive market, you'll find a bakery, authentic Korean food stalls, and restaurant-quality meals being made fresh. It's honestly amazing to walk into a grocery store and have access to food that tastes like it came straight from a restaurant kitchen. Because I travel frequently for work across the Southeast--covering a pretty large region--I'm always on the lookout for an H Mart whenever I'm near one. I've been lucky to have access to locations like Cary, North Carolina, and the one in Buford outside Atlanta, which serves a large and vibrant Asian community. Whenever I'm within a reasonable driving distance--usually within about 10 miles--I make a point to stop in and enjoy a delicious, authentic Korean meal that's made to order and very reasonably priced. I've brought friends and colleagues with me, and they've all been blown away by the food stalls. My personal go-to: * LA galbi (Korean short ribs)--if it's on the menu, I'm ordering it * All the little banchan side dishes--I absolutely love them * Fresh seafood options, including live crab and fish that can be cleaned and prepared for you * A stop at the bakery for dessert--think croissant donuts, almond pastries, or a beautiful layered crepe cake Some locations--even the ones I visited years ago on the West Coast--would steam or fry seafood for you right there, which makes dinner incredibly convenient. Another thing I appreciate is the cleanliness. This store truly rivals places like Whole Foods in terms of organization and quality, even while handling live seafood. The parking lots are typically spacious, well-maintained, and easy to navigate. I also love browsing the aisles for specialty ingredients you can't find everywhere. For example, they carry my favorite laksa noodles, which remind me of a Malaysian dish I fell in love with while visiting a friend in Mauritius. It's always fun to discover unique items like that. The staff--both in the grocery store and at the food stalls--are friendly and helpful, which makes the whole experience even better. Bottom line: If you're anywhere near Cary, North Carolina--or even the Buford, Georgia area--do yourself a favor and make a beeline to H Mart. As a lifelong foodie, I truly believe: Life is too short not to eat well.

Not at any other H-Marts, but at this Duluth location, things have just gone awry in the past few years. For one, they allow religious harassment at their door. I really don't appreciate being flagged down and chased by Bible "advocates" outside their door. I find that really intrusive, and bordering harassment. One time, this bawdy Korean lady chased me toward my car with this religious pamphlet...when I clearly told her "NO"...not interested. I mean, what more can I do or say without being chased like that??? So rude! I can't believe H-Mart is letting these folks harass their customers like this. Not all the people that shop at this mart is a Catholic, or Christian, or religious at all. Even if they are, they STILL may not wish to be harassed like this. For some folks, religion (or spirituality) is a personal thing. Religious harassment is so offputting...and inappropriate? I mean, this is a supermarket!!! It's just beyond the pale. This right here made me drop 2 stars off the bat! Then their weird food court hours. I mean, most food courts are up and running from 11 am on...but here, they start opening past 12 pm. I think on the day I was there, they were opening the food court closer to 12:30! That's just not acceptable. Lastly, I find their layout extremely awkward and uncomfortable to manuever around.

Store Size and Selection This place is very, very big with a strong selection of Korean groceries and everyday staples. What surprised me most was how much more there is beyond food - tons of interesting cookware, cooking tools, and fun items to browse. Produce and Freshness The fresh produce was top quality and noticeably fresh. You can tell this store serves a community that expects high standards, and the quality shows. Prices and Deals There were a lot of sales and discounts throughout the store. Great value overall, especially considering the freshness and variety. Samples and Experience The sampling situation is next level - way more sample corners than you'd ever expect Costco to provide. Sample sizes are smaller than Costco, but it's still totally worth it because you get to try a wide variety of Korean flavors. It felt like tasting little snippets of Korean culture as you shop. Service, Cleanliness, and Atmosphere Everyone we interacted with was so kind and helpful, and the service was amazing. The store was also very clean. Bonus: the music was clearly catered to millennials (late 20s to 40s), and it genuinely brought back childhood and teenage nostalgia. Inside Businesses (Restaurants, Salons, Etc.) We also enjoyed that there are restaurants and salons inside. Everything looked nice, and pricing seemed pretty reasonable. Why it stands out in Duluth Duluth has a strong Korean community, and Mega Mart really reflects that in the quality, freshness, and overall experience. Would we return? Yes - 100%. If you want great produce, strong deals, lots of Korean variety, and a fun shopping experience, this is a must visit.

Overall This market…read morewasn't what we expected based on the name. "Namdaemun" immediately made us think of the famous open market area in Korea and we assumed the store would be Korean focused. In reality, the selection and overall vibe leaned overwhelmingly Hispanic and Latin American, with very few Korean items. Name vs Reality The name feels misleading. We came in expecting a Korean grocery market concept, but most of the products (including the bakery) were predominantly Hispanic. The shopper base also didn't feel very Korean, so it didn't come across as a Korean market experience. Selection If you are looking for Hispanic, Latin American, South American, or Central American groceries and produce, this place may actually be a solid option. It just doesn't match what the "Namdaemun" name implies. Atmosphere and Cleanliness The atmosphere felt more like a discount store than a bright, modern market. The store felt more cramped and less clean, open, and bright compared to places like H Mart or Mega Mart. Visually, it also leaned more flashy and cluttered rather than clean and curated. Who I would recommend it for I'd recommend this market for shoppers specifically seeking Hispanic or Latin American grocery items and produce. If you're coming in expecting a Korean market experience because of the name, you may be disappointed like we were. Would we return? Probably not for what we were originally looking for, but I can see it being useful for people shopping for Latin American ingredients and products.

The last time I walked these aisles, I was with my mama, Donna Theresa. So much has changed since then, yet the soul of this place remains as vibrant as ever. It feels more expansive than I remember. A true global treasure tucked right here in the city. I'm still obsessed with how they organize the aisles by country. In just one afternoon, I traveled from Korea to Eastern Europe to Central America, no passport required! I was officially "team sample" the moment they offered! Unlike the heavy, sugary profile of traditional American cakes, these were a masterclass in balance. I tried the Neapolitan, a stunning phyllo-layered creation that was light, buttery, and perfectly textured. But the Lemon Cream Cake? It stole the entire show. It looked picture-perfect on the shelf, and the taste was even better. It was so bright, airy, and just the right amount of decadence. Coming back here wasn't just a grocery trip; it was a win for my palate and my heart. Now that I'm back in the area, you can bet this is becoming a regular stop on my rotation. This market routinely…read moresells old/expiring goods because there's too much sh*t in the store to keep up with inventory (see others' reviews). This is by far this market's biggest drawback. I purchased a pack of tofu along with some other items on March 11. I open the fridge a few days later on March 15, finally ready to prepare the tofu, just to see that the exp date on the pack was March 10. This picture was taken March 15 upon this discovery. I meant to update this review a while ago. I just can't spend money here anymore knowing that I'm liable to accidentally purchase old products. As customers, we should not have to be this vigilant at a grocery store... it's ridiculous.

First time at Trader Joe's! Although I have tried their foods before from family members who shops…read morehere more frequently. So much food here from fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy products, ice cream, snacks, and more. Customer service here was great. Nice and clean aisle. Some things I liked and have tried from the frozen food aisles are soup dumplings, roti bread, and chao tom- fried shrimp skewers. I have also tried the assorted cookies, mochi ice cream, ube pancake mix, umami crunchy rice crackers, and of course the famous everything but the bagel seasoning! From our new haul today we also got some frozen goodies; kimbap, naan bread, butter chicken curry dinners, Japanese Taiyaki,, Dutch griddle cakes, chocolate covered prezels, and other snacks. They also have the kids carts! Fun to take a little one shopping along. Will be back again!

Not my favorite Trader Joe's ever but a good alternative to the small/cramped ones in Buckhead and…read moreMidtown, if you live ITP. There's always lots of free and easy parking, especially on the weekends, which is a huge advantage over ones that are in the city. It is always an adventure discovering new items and revisiting favorites. Some of the things that are always on our list are fresh flowers and herbs, produce, frozen food, pastas, and bread. The employees here are just as nice and helpful as other locations. The people who bag groceries must have played some serious Tetris as kids because they are highly skilled at fitting an extraordinary amount of things into as few bags as possible. We bring our own shopping bags but if the haul is bigger than what we can accommodate, it's good to know that we won't be going home with a million plastic bags but maybe 1-2 sturdy paper bags that can be reused or recycled.
