I have to give a shout out to the 2 guys making the subs tonight (July 25th at 8:00 pm)! They rocked! I watched one guy make a sub for a customer that looked so delicious that I asked the guy helping me to make me a 6 inch exactly like it! It was FANTASTIC! It was a chicken tender sub with lettuce, onion, jalapeños, ranch, hot honey, spicy gouda and another sauce toasted and boy was it lip smacking good! I wasn't even there to get myself a sub, I was there getting my roommate his usual 12 inch ultimate and he said that it was way better then usual! Those guys know and do their jobs extremely well! My cashier and bagger were so kind and friendly. Plus when I was loading up my car with the groceries a sweet young man finished loading them and took my cart! Publix has created a solid reputation by offering incredible customer service, great BOGO (buy one, get one free) deals, and we cannot forget their subs, which are affectionately known as "Pub Subs." Coming from New Jersey, a state known for their great subs, in a way, it hurts me to state that a supermarket has some of the best subs in the area. But it is also a 100% true statement. Publix subs are very good. My go-to sub is probably their Italian sub, which is truly a tasty offering. I also enjoy their roast beef and cheese sub. I would definitely recommend upgrading it by using Boar's Head meat. It is definitely worth the small upcharge. It is great to see Publix expanding beyond the boundaries of their home state of Florida and spreading throughout the southeast. Not only am I happy about it, but I am confident that the communities where Publix opens a location are very grateful for a Publix opening by them. By far the worst cake I have ever had from any Publix location. We would order yearly; yet have not ordered from this location in a few years. No balloons decorations, no writing in jell as requested when ordered last week (when submitting order, a guy said they do carry). The vanilla custard filling was filling-less. (As if was at the end of the jar and didn't feel like opening a new one). We are a loyal Publix family but this is the worst Publix i've ever been to. 30 minutes away from our house and we did our christmas shopping there on a thursday so we didn't have to go out after the storm. We spent over $200 and many items were left out and never bagged/put in our cart-but we still paid for them! When we called to get this resolved, they made no effort to resolve this situation and only after i begged and came up with several solutions did they decide i could drive 30 minutes back and show them the receipts to get replacements. i am disappointed since we did our shopping in advance to avoid going out in the 8 degree weather and i feel scammed by this Publix, especially due to the lack of desire to resolve this issue on their part. UPDATE: When i came in for the replacement, there was no apology and no attempt to resolve the customer service issue. After i grabbed my replacement items, i returned to the counter to express my disappointment. Lorena at the counter would not make eye contact even when i asked to speak with her. When i finally got her attention she told me "It is okay ma'am, there is no reason to be upset." and let me know i could grab a bag from the counter behind me for my items. i am so disappointed in the lack of customer service. I love Publix, just because it is more on the expensive side I don't do my shopping there but it's awesome. Always clean, always fully stocked and staff is generally pleasant. Though it has been awhile since I've worked in the hospitality industry, certain things do not leave you. That is customer service which I still use in my field of work. I'm currently in the medical field & I was exhausted driving to Publix from the hospital for something hot to eat. I drove 40 mins for something specific, I even called ahead. I was distraught when I was told my drive was for nothing but Hector immediately found a solution. His actions & thoughts meant everything to me tonight. It is truly the small things in life. You never know what one is going through & I was on the edge. Hector made my whole night. Worst Publix deli ever, not my first time having a bad experience at this location, I ordered one sandwich for pick for my lunch at 12 pm, I arrived at 12:07 and didn't see my order but different order for 12:30pm was already ready at the counter, a lady came up to me and said they were out of wheat bread but they was a whole rack full of wheat bread behind, she cut the bread then I assumed that she starting making the sandwich so to give her time I walked around and pick up a few more stuff, I came back and seen that she hasn't started my sandwich at all and now said they were out of Mayo, at this point I wasted 20 min of my 30 min lunch break and don't even have a lunch, never going to this Publix again even though it's a convenient location. read more

Publix on Sugarloaf Parkway in Lawrenceville is one of the better Publix Super Markets I've visited in metro Atlanta primarily because it's big. Most of the Publix stores I shop at are in town, where space is limited. Not the case with this suburban Publix where space is not an issue. The store is massive and the selection is great from produce to meats and seafood to frozen foods and wine. In addition to its large stockpile of items, the customer service here is fantastic. 1st time here. I'm not use to standing in a long line. Just came in for a cake and card for an event. Just needed one more cashier.

I stopped shopping and Kroger and started going to publix. For the most part this is a great store with friendly staff and a clean store. However there is this miserable lady that works in the meat department that has a very bad attitude. She always walks around like she hates her job and whenever I ask for her help in finding a particular cut of meat, she gets visibly annoyed and always says if it's not out on display then they don't have it. I believed her at first but later on when I asked someone else the same question, they always were willing to check in the back and even do a custom cut for me. Today I was waiting for help in the meat department and when this same lady turned around and saw me waiting, she rolled her eyes and let out a loud sigh. I asked her if they had beef short ribs and again she said all they have is out on display. She briefly looked and told me they don't have any. Then when I asked if they had any in the back she just said no. I left the store without buying anything after this encounter. I'm going to try the publix on pleasant hill road to see if they have better service. read more

You're going to hate their buy one get one free section, that they conveniently put right in front of the entrance (why yes, i'll have two containers of cookies I don't need!), but you're going to love the service at Publix. It's a pretty decent sized store with a pharmacy that's never too busy if you're here for that. Their deli area is also pretty nice, if for no other reason than they've added a check out area at the sandwich making station. Wait, I don't have to get my sandwich and go stand in line? 1-star rating solely due to the employee that made my Philly Cheesesteak sub. That was the only reason I went to Publix & she ruined it for me. I stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before I "cleared" my throat for her to turn around; she had her back toward me. Her whole demeanor almost made me feel discriminated against. She didn't smile, or show any kind of enthusiasm. She blandly asked me, "what can I get you?" She gathers all the ingredients and puts it in a cardboard container and places it in the oven. Pulls it out and puts pink meat on my sandwich, while the rest had been browned. When asked if she could cook that a little bit more, she rolled her eyes. So she pulls everything off of the bread and tosses it back in the container and back in the oven. Any other time I've ordered this exact same sub at Publix, the meat was cooked on the grill. Then she proceeds to take the container out of the oven and throws everything back on the bread. I ask for extra cheese since the cheese looked invisible due to the rearranging of the sandwich & she took a cold slice of cheese - 1 slice - & tosses it on top.. while asking, "is this good?" I really, truly hope that this sub does not make me sick to the stomach due to having uncooked meat. The next time I want something to eat.. I'll either starve or go somewhere else. I won't be stepping foot in that Publix again. No Thank You! read more

And what makes this particular Publix so damn great? They have free samples almost every day. And what's not to love about free samples while you shop? This Publix always has all of the flavors of Lean Cuisine I could possibly want. Yes, I know that's very specific, but Lean Cuisine Orange Chicken is hard to find, and I eat a lot of it, okay? They also stock Starbucks Frappuccino in Mocha Lite and Vanilla Lite, which are often hard to find as well. I've always gotten good service here, with quick check-out times and floor staff who are eager to help me find what I need. My only complaint/concern is the fish department. Four out of five times that I'm here, I can smell the fish department from the front of the store. Fresh fish doesn't smell, guys. I've seen brown tuna sitting in the display. Bleh. What a shame. That issue aside, this Publix has converted a former die-hard Krogerer. read more

I really like this Publix. Their staff is super friendly. This store is spacious and always clean. They are rarely out of anything. There are a couple of items I have trouble finding other places that they always have. I love their Family Meal Deal. You can get a roasted chicken or family sized fried chicken, 2 sides, and 4 rolls for $10.59. We eat this at least once a week because it keeps me from having to cook! read more

This used to be my goto place for all my grocery shopping, but lately it's gone down hill. I think the management of the meat and produce department changed which resulted in a drop in quality. Lately the fresh produce has been wilted, rotten, and even covered in flies. The meat department used to be my favorite part of the store and it's also unfortunately been a let down as well. They mainly have a young guy working at the department most of the time I've been and he always has a really bad attitude. He acts like you're bothering him if you ask for assistance, so unless you want to deal with him you're left buying whatever is on the shelf in whatever state it is. Trying to convince him to cut meat or grind a roast is extremely unpleasant since he tries to convince you to purchase what's already there. I recently purchased steaks there that were incorrectly cut and the assistant manager didn't provide any type of resolution for my situation besides having me come back during dinner time to return them. His recommendation was to have an associate open up a pack of steaks to make sure they're cut properly. I don't think it's my job as a customer to have to resort to that. I've pretty much stopped shopping here entirely and changed to another locatin. read more

There is a horrible problem in their deli section. While getting a cold sub is easy and the ingredients are delicious, the "hot" options are poor. They are either out of the product, or the items in the warmer arent warm. I wanted the mojo pork meal and despite it being on the menu, she said they dont sell it anymore. She said they offer new smoked meats. When I asked what was available for that day, she said I had to look at the list on the front of the warmer. That day's item was fried fish,(not a smoked meat). And there was only one small piece of that in there. So i decide I'll just get the fried chicken meal. Their sides were green beans, sweet potatoes, mac n cheese and mashed potatoes. I wanted the mashed potatoes, but they were sold out and the lady went to the back and said they were replacing it with lima beans, but they wouldnt be done for 20 minutes!!!! The mac n cheese was dark orange and looked dry and crusty. I decided to just grab 5 lemon pepper wings. Got to the car and realized they were COLD!!! Never again!! The store manager Juan was very unapologetic and made it seem like this is normal. read more

This Publix is literally up the street from my house and so easy and convenient for me to visit. I'm from Florida where Publix originated and service is always superb. I frequent this location almost every other day I went in to buy a lottery ticket and for whatever reason,and ONLY today, a guy I've never seen there before refused to sell me a lottery ticket without my ID when I'd been in line twice with at least 5 others in front of me and he ID'd NOBODY I acted like I left out and looked in and he didn't ID the guy behind me if the "policy" is to ID for lotto tickets, ID everyone, everytime!! I still had normal shopping to do so I went back in looking for honey asked an associate where it was and she told me she wasn't sure and right then, "couldn't help me look for it." I guess because she was stocking. DONE with this location until they can do some better training or something. read more

This location is really close to my house and very convenient it's always clean and organized and people are always very friendly unless you go early in the morning. The older ladies that work in the morning turn their nose up at you if you use your WIC vouchers. And this morning I dealt with a young manager named Narika... she had an attitude whispering back and forth with Geneva when I asked if I could add another box of strawberries to my WIC transaction since I still had money left on it because the strawberries were on sale two for six.... I wasn't aware because they weren't marked back in the produce department. Geneva acted like it was such a big deal to have to ask if the transaction could be redone... that's where Narika came in with her "I really don't want to be doing this" attitude. another employee called for her to come and help with a transaction at a different register she says out loud " I'm only one person" this is true but Ma'am if you don't like your job or you can't handle this little bit of pressure please do us all a favor and quit. Don't make comments like that out loud in front of a customer. I Work in hospitality i know how It can be frustrating but you're never supposed to let them see you in such a state. Then the ladies Always overly examine every single product that you're purchasing with your WIC (as if you haven't shopped for these same items 100 times before). When you tell them "I promise you it's correct" it's like they don't believe you and make it a point to look at it 4 or 5 extra times . I work extremely hard this assistance that I do get is very beneficial to my household so please do not hold yourself higher than the next. It's aggravating!!!!
