This is a smaller version of the ones in the surrounding area. Understandably so because it is a regular H Mart and not the Super H Mart. They still have a ton of inventory and variety. The produce selection was great! The store was clean and well stocked. The check out was quick. On this visit they had a lot of lanes open. While I prefer the Duluth location this one was not nearly as busy so that was a plus too. I would certainly come back. read more

This location of HMart has a Tous Les Jours attached and an extensive food court that has Korean and Vietnamese offerings. I was so happy to find that Soon's Kitchen was open when we visited on a weekday, but other stalls were closed so YMMV. The Galbitang (short rib soup) I had was perfect for a rainy day. Accompanied by free sides of kimchi, fish cake, and bean sprouts, it was filling and affordable. At Tous Les Jours I chose a strawberry croissant and the attendant (seeing that I had my hands full) rushed over to help me put it safely in a container. Excellent service, and I was able to take it safely home to enjoy. :) The food court is on the other side of the store, so if you're planning to have dessert you might want to stop in first and take it with you. Tous Les Jours has minimal seating, but it is clean and well-lit. Will definitely stop by again for lunch! I found the prices at this HMArt were a little higher than the Duluth location, so keep that in mind for shopping. read more

Really starting to like this location for me. Closer, and the fish dept gets good deals that I pounce on when I can. Like most Asian markets you walk in to produce an easier way around the back to the meats and seafood which is mostly what I go for... Produce and seafood. Was looking for pork belly and some kind of a fish on sale and found both so I got the pork belly then was happy to see lobster was on sale from $20 a pound to 8.99 a pound ! That a lot of them most were a pound and a half not very big but lobster Thermador came to mine so I grabbed a few and picked up some head on shrimp and seaweed while I was there all before they continue to keep going up.. Produce is always low compared to Kroger or Publix but it's creeping up as all foods are going up but the layout is good. I've grab some great whole red snapper here and now lobster crab shrimp is always a bargain so my go to place that's closest. Assi plaza Is one more exit down and does have a larger produce area so I generally go to both and shop between the two to get what I need but was pleased here and will be coming back. I would typically give this Hmart a 3 star (more like a 3.5 star) but I've grown to like it. This is the Hmart located in Suwanee and is the fourth hmart in the Georgia Hmart chain. Opening in 2007, this one has served as a Korean grocery staple in the Suwanee area competing with Assi. It's not as big as your Duluth location and I think this one is a little bigger than the Johns Creek location, but I like this location because it's not as busy as the other locations. Even on weekends, it's not as crazy as it would ever get in Duluth. I will say -- the variety/selection of goods lack in a way, but they probably will still have everything you look for. They also have weird random things that other Hmarts don't have. Food court wise -- they have a Tous Les Jours (located towards the exit), and they have a few Korean restaurants here and there, including a Tore Ore and Mr. Dumplings, which are famous for their dumplings. I do prefer the Assi over Hmart becuase Assi (despite its smaller size) usually has cheaper and fresher goods, but I still have some sort of love for this hmart that keeps me coming back. read more

I've been going to this H-Mart more lately over the one in Duluth because it's less crowded. I've also noticed in my recent visits how well organized it is inside this location. This H-Mart is a stand-alone location and has a huge parking lot which always makes it easy to park. H-Mart is the Mecca for Asian/Korean ingredients, products, food, banchan, seafood, and meats. Banchan is tasty and good. They also have an Asian food court too. The dumpling/mandoo stall in the food court is really good. Definitely worth checking out. read more

COVID CHRONICLES: THE GREEN REPORT! The first thing I noticed when Covid hit was the lack of fresh greens in the market. It was challenging to find them beforehand but suddenly the hunt was even more difficult. Let's be clear, I prefer my southern greens in a bundle, bunch or bushel, NOT a bag. I don't' want a bag full of stems and I prefer large natural leaves. A couple of weeks ago, I decided to travel to this particular HMart to check out the options. While I have a location closer to my home, I need QUALITY. As soon as I walked into this market, I noticed the absence of any foul odors. Yes! As I moved about, I noticed that the store was clean and organized. Yes! Yes!. Finally, when I arrived at the produce department I saw a glorious display of fresh greens, parsley, kale, turnips, collards, Swiss chard, (reg and red), mature spinach, Asian greens, (the Choy family was well represented!). I stocked up on everything except collards because they really are more like the peasant green and they just bore me. They also take way too long to cook as opposed to turnip greens which were fork tender and very tasty within 15 minutes. I bought a lot of greens and could not get anything else in my fridge. So, the secret to buying a lot of greens and not letting them go bad is to prep most of them for smoothies or soup and cook the remaining sooner rather than later. If you are using them for smoothies, portion and freeze raw, for soups, you will want to blanch them or slightly cook them and then you can freeze them. BOOM! Ready in a minute and you have no excuse for not eating your vegetables. I can't tell you much about the entire store because I limited my visit to the produce department. However, on my next visit, I will definitely be checking out the fresh fish/seafood department. read more

Horrible people work here. I would give -1000 stars if I could. I was in line at the fish market and the butcher ignored me . Kept helping other people instead of me till i spoke up and said something. I asked for a piece of salmon and he refused to cut the size i needed then he screamed at me when I told him I didn't need the whole entire fish. Also while standing in line at check out, a cashier came down the aisle and yelled at me to move out his way so he could get to his register. I will never ho back here again read more

The Super H Mart in Suwanee is just like all the other ones around town. Not as big as the one on Pleasant Hill, but this location still has a bakery, cosmetics shop, furniture and appliance store, food court, etc. Unlike the other H Marts, this one is not as packed on the weekends. It's quieter and you can move around with your shopping cart more easily. Still plenty of free samples to try and when there's less people, that means more samples. My favorite thing about H Mart and all the new Asian supermarkets are their food courts. One of the food court restaurants in this H Mart sells Korean double-fried chicken, a definite must-try if you're up this way. You can eat it there or get it to go. If you get it to go, the chicken comes in nifty boxes with handles and the food is neatly separated. Highly recommended. The Suwanee H Mart is located next to the same shopping center that houses Umaido and Cafe Mozart Bakery. read more

I have not looked hard or long for a place that sells sashimi but I had always wondered where I could get some if I were so inclined for some sushi at home. My brother in law had a sushi night a couple of weeks back and Hmart was the place where he bought his fish. After a successful sushi night, I was determined to do this on my own. I came into this location on a Friday afternoon. The parking lot was not as busy as it would be on the weekend so parking was pretty easy to find. As you walk in, you're greeted with fruits and vegetables as far as the eye can see. I picked up a couple of avocados and cucumbers. I made my way around to the pickled vegetables section and grabbed some seaweed salad. Then I strolled over to the seafood section. Salmon, tuna, masago oh my! Not knowing which one to choose or how much fish I needed, I went with a sashimi sampler that was on clearance for $12.00. I know, very risky especially with raw fish (ps- I didn't die). Grabbed the rest of the stuff I needed such as sesame seeds, nori, and rice vinegar and checked out with quickness and ease. So this place may not be as quiet on the weekends so you may need to choose when and what time you go to avoid the crowds. This place has anything you may need to get your "Asian" food fix ingredients. read more

Mandoo Man food stand in the food court is the bomb! Get (beef) mandoo soup with rice cake and it comes with kimchi and yellow pickled radish on the side. So delicious. The portions are big. The rest of the H-Mart is pretty standard, lots of selection, good prices, and there is a Tous Les Jours too. However, I really recommend Mozart Bakery in the adjacent shopping center if you want Korean bakery type stuff and a place to sit. H-Mart has a good parking lot. To the previous reviewer, yeah, that jellied stuff is made from acorns and it is delicious when you put a good soy sauce/spice mixture on top. It is sooo good!! Writing about the food court btw: This H Mart opened soon after the initial boom of Asian markets opening up all over Gwinnett. H Mart started up in Pleasant Hill, did super well and opened branches near 285, one in Johns Creek, and then one here in Suwanee. I think this location is one of their quieter and not as high performing ones, because of the population and lack of demand for Asian foods in this part of town. It's brought other Korean businesses, and a small Korean town cropped up here between McGinnis and Lawrenceville Suwanee Road, but I would say it lacks the hustle and bustle that the pockets around Gwinnett has. I am writing in regards of the food court and food since I couldn't find the individual restaurants to write reviews on. This H mart is mildly pricier than the rest of the H marts. The problem is bc its inventory doesn't move as quickly, this place to keep prices up to maintain its status as a nice H Mart than the rest of the other Famers Markets, and yet the quality will be sacrified as well. This H mart is smaller in terms of fresh produce but will say their snacks and dried goods section is much bigger. I actually came for Fish 153 b/c I wanted to intro my friend to sashimi salad, but with my kind of luck they happened to run out today! so I went exploring with the other stalls. There's 3 stalls, which are confusingly fused into 1 long stall where to pay out at 1 cash register. There's a Korean/Chinese stall that does your ja jang noodles, seafood noodles, dumplings. There's a korean stand that does your rice cake soup, dumpling soup, and soupy korean foods, and then there's a bulgogli bowl stall in between. We ordered a Ja jang noodle, bc the one I had 3 days ago at ManHong of Assi Plaza left me unsatisfied. I also had a bulgolgi bowl "mama" bowl. Mama bowl- I got the beef bugolgi with the sweet spicy sauce and white rice. I thought this is a good dish for a lunch crowd. It comes in a to go paper bowl container, has a mildly Americanized fusion taste. The flavor was a little strong for me- too sweet and too saucy in flavor but my friend liked it. it was only 7.99 For the dish and you def get the bang for the buck for it. The rice was good, the beef was a little thick to be qualified as a bugolgi kind of meat, and the sauce was a little heavy for me. I was satisfied with the ja jang noodle here! It is a much better upgrade than the one I had 3 days ago that had no sauce and flavor. It was as if though the one in Manhong had diluted 1 spoon of real ja jang sauce with 1 whole cup of water- super diluted in flavor. I highly recommend the ja jang noodle here. Good black bean sauce with pork and cucumber and noodles. Prices in this food court are pretty good- you will see a lunch crowd here from local businesses. Fish 153 seems to be the only business separate from the 3 lumped together businesses. read more

It is very bad customer services of the Store Manager ! Not even worth 1 star ranking ! On Saturday 7/16/22, I was at this HMart supermarket in Suwanee. An employee brought out a whole new stack of champagne mango boxes, on sale for $5.99 each. He said that it should be either 13 or 14 counts depends on the size of the mangoes. I got 2 boxes, but then at check-out, the cashier took out 1 mango because only 12 counts per box was allowed per Store Manager. I told her go check on the counts of the whole stack right there, she did, but then, she had to do what she was told by her manager. To me, 1 more mango or 1 less doesn't a matter. The fact that the Store Manager ignoring the originally packed of the produces and makes his own rules, cheating on customers, showing that his does not respect Customers at all ! Later on, I even found out that they mark up the price on the tag, then put it on sale to make it looks better : on the tag they posted with the mango boxes saying "original price $11.99, sale price $5.99", but on my receipt showing "regular price $9.99 per box of mango, on sale for $5.99" ! I thought HMart is a good place where I can trust for their long time reputation, but not any more, I guess. read more

Compared to all the HMarts in Atlanta, this location is the most disappointing. However, if you need some produce or Asian ingredients, it doesn't disappoint. I've come here several times before because I was in the area and a friend lives close by. There's a little Korean plaza on the right hand side of it. A lot of my friends like to karaoke in the area. The setup is also really different, maybe cause it's a lot smaller but everything seems so congested inside. The food court also looks sad. Tous Les Jours Bakery is inside too. Eh. A pretty average H Mart. Like other locations, this one was pretty well organized and clean. Some associates here are friendlier than others, but I'd say that's pretty typical. If you use coupons sent by H Mart, just make sure you're matching the pictures up to the precise T. Seriously. I've encountered this many times across many locations where the cashier only knows how to only ring up the coupons if the pictures match. i.e. The coke products had a buy three 12 pack cases for $10. The pictures on the coupon had a Coke, Diet Coke, and Sprite. The cashier would not accept any other Coke products except only the ones pictured on the coupon. Needless to say, my friend had to go grab another Coke case. Smh. Parking was plentiful since this location is part of a strip of stores. H Mart is set off to the left side by itself and a tad tucked behind the rest of the strip so there's plenty of parking spots. read more

This is the second H-Mart I've visited and reviewed, and my experiences at both were similarly disappointing. The general impression when you first walk in is that it's just not all that clean. I wanted to get something I've never tried before, so I persevered and made it to the food court. There was a bird flying around. Over the food court. I tried to be fair and forgive it, figuring there's nothing keeping a bird from flying into Publix or Aldi or Sprouts or any of my other regular grocery stores. The fact still remains that I've never ever seen a bird flying over the food in a grocery store. Now, had I gone into the bathroom prior to my food court visit, I would have bolted right then. I didn't go until I was on my way out. Absolutely filthy. There was no soap, no paper towels left, no toilet paper. The waist-high receptacle was overflowing with used paper towels, as was one of the toilets. There was trash everywhere. It was clear that it hadn't been cleaned in about a month. If that's the store's idea of bathroom hygiene, I can't imagine what goes on behind the scenes in their food-handling practices. Also, do the employees use the bathroom that's completely out of soap and paper towels?.... 2 stars because my Korean bbq was tasty and satisfied my craving for same. This H Mart just seems to be smaller than most all others. It also seems to be dingy most times i go there. Their produce does not seem to be as fresh or plentiful then say the Johns Creek or Duluth locations I frequent. They do still have Andy's Deli Polish Sausages (so good!) and some other European meats. My last drip I bought package of smoked beef. I'll break that out for a soccer match in the coming weeks. This H Mart does have a Mandoo guy. This guy has sold millions of Mandoos and his Mandoo dumplings were pretty good. He gave me his card and spoke with great pride. When I come here and grab a bite, I order this man's Mandoo. He is one of the last food stations towards the back. On the upside, unlike other H Marts, there is never a long wait to check out here. read more

Decided to try Korean Fried Chicken for the first time at one of the restaurants in the food court. Korean fried chicken for the win! Man, that chicken was delicious. It was made fresh and piping hot when I got it. I tried the Garlic Tasty flavor. Garlic flavor was not overpowering and was just right. Chicken was crisp and juicy. Somedays are good but generally its just okay. Fresh is what people expect but most of the time, its just okay. I would say 1 out of 3 visit, its good. I wish they would clean up a bit. I never see anyone mopping or cleaning up. I went in and in the onion pile, you can see flies and bugs. It wasn't good. Even the greens look all dried up and they think people are going to buy it....tsk tsk. I give it 3 stars cause I have no choice but to go time to time. Being asian, you kind of need H Mart or Assi Mart. This H Mart is the closest available. Its more for my family and wife that needs it. The produce is a hit or miss. This is one of the few h-marts that have good deals on their snacks but you have to check the date! Now what's makes this hmart better than the rest is the food court. There is a dumpling store all the way at the end and it is by far THE BEST DUMPLING soup EVER! It's affordable $9-$11 for a bowl of dumpling soup and each dumpling is handmade in that store! You get 4 dumplings per soup. You can order the dumplings for parties or frozen so you can use it later at home. Such good quality and it's been consistent for as long as they have been there! I would recommend this diamond in the rough but the store does run out of freshly made dumplings early on in the day! So come before they run out of stock. The seafood place and the korean food place aren't so bad but if you want the best dumplings stop by! read more

If I could give no stars I would I bought a whole catfish that cost $70.00 it was cut into huge chucks so I had to return back to the store to get it sliced smaller to be able to cook it which was an inconvenience it gets better they sell frozen fish because when you unthaw it it was spoiled so I paid $70.00 for food I had to throw away.
