Great quality produce. Some times the sales they are absolutely exceptional! This past Saturday we got organic strawberries for $1 per container...and they were delicious! We should have gotten more than 2! They have the regular assortment of much needed Asian groceries. The thing I look forward to the most is the prepared food they sell, particulary the soups. They are great. Apples to apples (same soup to same soup), the soups here are much more flavorful and satisfying than the soups sold at H-Mart. My go-tos are the Seaweed Beef Soup, Kimchi Stew, and Fermented Soybean Stew. read more

This place is losing money... I've been shopping here since 2015 but these days the prices are way higher than it used to be (understood it's 2025 prices) but I draw the line at the prepared foods. They are not as fresh as before the covid and now the prices are gouged all of a sudden. The final straw was the prepared beef spicy soup... it was spoiled. They put another sticker with reduced prices on these but didn't think they would see spoiled food. Came back home to re-heat but it smelled SO BAD.. I'm not sure why I haven't eaten in the Assi Food Court more, other than the fact that it's pretty far from Dunwoody. Outside of the Assi, the plaza is bustling with tons of Korean restaurants and shops - so there is definitely steep competition. But when in Suwanee, I hadn't thought to check out any of these restaurants - but since I've been coming up to Suwanee more often, I decided to give it a try. There are several bustling options in the food court. There's always a bakery - in this case, there's a Mozart Bakery, which it looks like has actually been renovated since my last visit. I picked up a watermelon slushie to pair with my lunch. I ordered from a couple stalls to try different things. I ordered spicy rice cake with ramen & some kimbab from the Korean snack bar (has a Pinocchio cartoon next to the Korean characters for Pinokio. I also tried special combo B from Manhong Chinese Food - they had a great dine-in combo menu and I was craving jjajjangmyeon & jjambong. If you're doing some grocery shopping at Assi and need a quick bite, definitely recommend stopping in the food court! While the food is just a-ok, the prices are hard to beat. read more

This was a pleasant surprise! The produce selection here was much larger than I expected. The prices were hit and miss. We picked up a few items. The rest of the store had some great finds as well. The seafood department was really full of fresh fish but it still smelled liked the ocean over there. The freshly made area had a nice range of kimchi sizes, soups, and other traditional Korean food. Lastly, the food court looked like it had some great options. We walked through it and scoped out several dishes we wanted to try. It was busy which is a pretty good sign. They have a reward program. Just wanted to get an updated review as the previous are pretty old. Assi Plaza continues to put out great produce at low prices, wide selection of things you won't find at Publix, but I come foe the seafood. I never leave without at least 2 lbs is sushi grade tuna, some salmon, seaweed, squid salads. But best deals are fish and crab, and shrimp!!Head on, large and medium are all under $10 a lb, great value!! Whole fish, live fish to xhios from and squid for that homemade calamari. I live in winder now but still come here once a month. If they don't have something , I pop over to h mart but I like assi for what I need. Highly recommend! read more

I have since switched to this Assi Plaza Mart for grocery shopping when visiting Atlanta because it has a MUCH better selection than the other large Korean grocery store near my parents in Johns Creek. The prices are actually pretty good as well. Going to hit it right now with the pros and cons: PROS: - great selection of fruits and vegetables. This is probably the biggest reason why I come here. - much more extensive selection of alternative Asian products: I can even find the thick sweet Indonesian soy sauce (kecap manis) that is really hard to find locally (my friend has to order his from Amazon!). There are Filippino items, a large assortment of Thai and Chinese sauces. of course the noodles, rice and korean selections are great. - huge selection of meats: pork, chicken, beef. - marinated korean meats available by the pound -- this makes for cooking in large portions so much easier, and the prices are usually pretty good too! CONS: - there's limited Japanese items which is unfortunate since I do a lot of Japanese cuisine at home. I can get the staples like mirin and rice seasonings but other things like oshinko (japanese pickles) aren't available. It's also a great alternative for the northern Atlanta area (although there is no shortage of large Asian/Korean grocery stores in this area). The food court is also really good. Way back in the day, we would come here after church specifically to eat lunch after service in the food court. From what I can tell, the food is still great! read more

I'm not sure what has happened to Assi Plaza over the last year but the selection of produce is absolutely horrible! It's been a steady decline since about 2019 but the cheaper prices kept me coming. Where else can you get 6 limes for a $1 or 3 packs of cherry tomatoes for $1.99 or even 5 bundles of Cilantro for $1.99??? Prices are great!!!! That's no lie. But the quality I'm noticing is tremendously lower. This past holiday weekend I made a fruit salad to add to my family's breakfast. 3/4 of the fruit I got from Assi had to be thrown in the trash due to the mold and rotten fruit. I totally wasted my money on grapes, raspberries and kiwis. It took me long enough to sift through the fruit to find what appeared to be good quality, but once I got home it was rotten!!!! You have to keep an eye out too. Sometimes this place will know the produce is spoiled and wrap it in plastic to sell as a bundle to get rid of it!!! If that's not a scam I don't know what that is. Also, customers will always try to alter fruit regardless the store, meaning taking some grapes from another package to add to theirs and make sure they have the perfect product when going to the register. But customers here take it to an entire new level! Where is the staff making sure some of these customers stop altering the produce to take the best of the best leaving spoiled items for everybody else. Some items are a steal here. Like I mentioned, citrus is usually better priced here and good quality along with herbs and tomatoes...Things like that. When it comes to grapes, pineapple, berries, onions, or even the assortment of herbs like basil, chives, etc, It's unheard of there or just bad quality. However, the store does have a great selection of noodles, asian sauces and things of that nature. I am so surprised I haven't left a review for Assi yet. Assi is the underdog when it comes to Korean supermarkets in ATL, but everyone who knows knows that Assi has one of the best prices out of all. There used to be a Duluth location but it closed several years back so this Suwanee location is the only place so it's more for Suwanee locals. Assi isn't as big as Hmart in Duluth or Suwanee; I would say the size is comparable to the Johns Creek Hmart; it's definitely bigger than Zion Market but it is also smaller than Mega Mart. The biggest downside to Assi was that they didn't have a loyalty program, but they implemented their own loyalty program a few years back and they have covered one of their downsides pretty well! The produce here is typically cheaper and fresher, and the meat here is also usually cheaper than Hmart but the selection of packaged goods seem to be a little more limited than the competitor. This plaza overall is VERY popular, so it may be difficult to find parking here on a weekend. I would say this is probably the most populated Korean plaza in Suwanee and honestly competes with Park Village in Duluth (Hmart plaza) but I think the restaurants here are top-tier. Plus, the parking lot itself is just horribly built. Oh -- and also, don't sleep on Assi's food court. IMO, they have the best food court in all Korean supermarkets. What a miserable experience. This place has gone from bad to worse. Purchased a family pack of "RibEye" steaks for the memorial day holiday barbecue. Family all gathered and hungry for some good ole fashioned steaks. We had all the fixings Served up the steaks to the gang only to have each and everyone find the meat "inedible " Worst then shoe leather. Consensus was that this was not real beef at all. This is my go to Asian supermarket, since it's the closest one. Plenty of parking and little stores to explore in the same plaza. There are two boba places walking distance (gong cha and Kung fu tea). The inside is always clean and lately not too crowded. I do usually try to go on a weekday. There are plenty of produce,snacks and drinks to choose from. I always feel like there are new types of speciality beer when I visit! You have to try the Korean radish here, it's more sweet tasting than the other stores. Make sure it is the one packaged in a plastic bag. The ice cream section is a bit limited as well as the side dishes. There is usually a special of you spend a certain $ amount. For example if you spend $50 or more, you could get a box of instant coffee for $7.99 instead of regular price. I usually like to order to go from the food court when I'm shopping there. Enough variety to choose from. Although if you are looking for baked goods, I would recommend going to Hansel and Gretel in the same shopping plaza rather than the Mozart inside Assi. read more

I've been coming here for years and wasn't until my recent handful of visits I noticed how all the items on the aisles are very well organized. This is the original Assi Plaza in Georgia. The Assi on Pleasant Hill is the newer (and bigger) one. Assi Duluth is probably still my favorite Asian mega market in metro Atlanta due to its combination of size, selection food court, and pricing. There are many good supermarkets in Gwinnett County and this one, Assi Suwanee, is just another. I decided to venture up to Assi Suwanee for the heck of it. I always wanted to see what it looked like. The grocery store is located in a Korean shopping center with other shops and restaurants, including a Hansel and Gretel Bakery. Assi Suwanee is about half the size, maybe even a quarter of the size, of Assi Duluth. Apart from the produce, meat, and seafood sections, Assi Suwanee has about 16 aisles worth of foods. The frozen food and non-food (e.g. appliances and products) selection is somewhat limited and not nearly as expanse as Assi Duluth. I saw some Korean sour plums and water apples at this store, which I don't recall seeing anywhere else. Of course, produce is seasonal and can vary from week to week and day to day. The prices here are the same as Assi Duluth. There's a food court, but it's small and feels disconnected from the rest of the store. The food court is located around the corner, past the checkout counters. I saw maybe four restaurants and they all appeared to serve Korean cuisine. Assi Suwanee is clean, well-lit, and has great service from the butcher to the bag boys. After checkout, you may notice several clear boxes on the wall where people have dropped in their receipts. Each box represents a local Korean church to which Assi donates 2% of the total receipt costs. read more

While I love the food court at the Assi on Pleasant Hill, this is by far my favorite Assi for actual grocery store shopping. Mostly because the location is newer and the surrounding shopping center is full of new businesses and young families. Don't get me wrong, their food court is still bumpin'--- the only food court I have been able to find Soondae Bokkeum. The first time I came here, I totally could not find the food court. I had to then go outside the front of the building and enter on the left side entrance for find it. For those that don't know what Assi is; it is another large Korean grocery store the size of a large American supermarket. Thank goodness these places exist, otherwise complex and rare international ingredients would still be scarce like they used to be. Supporting international food markets is very important for the diversity of regional areas, even more important for Southern states in America; to keep the population diverse, happy, and thriving. The prices are lower than Hmart, but I find that the selection is not as vast in the dry goods and the fresh produce areas. There are so many great businesses in this plaza, which makes Assi a nice place to stop and pick up items out of sheer convenience. read more

It's not as successful as the its counterpart on Pleasant Hill despite it being the original 10 years ago. (wow! it's been that long!) Be careful about the newspaper ads. I've had to fight sometimes for them to honor something they said int he newspaper but then wouldn't honor it in the store which is frustrating. It's good for a quick run to get something since it's the ONLY korean supermarket for about 2-3 mile radius so for all Asian food lovers in the Peachtree ridge cluster, this is the best place to run to after work or to grab something. The food here isn't the freshest sometimes or the best in quality but sometimes they have a good deal. Compared to the other markets that have incentives for you to shop like point system, this place doesn't have one. I appreciate Assi's more holistic international market appeal. The one on pleasant hill has a pretty impressive Europe and Indian section so that it caters to everyone. This one definitely relies on the Korean crowd to bring in the business, especially the older Korean ladies who come and socialize. So this place is definitely more for the older people scene, especially on Sundays after church. What I love is the 7:00 swarm where people hide behind shelves waiting to pounce on the 50% off rack on the asian hot snacks. Seriously. They come outta no where but if you cana get half off on that pumpkin porridge or rice cake, dude your day just got gold. Their food court isn't amazing. But again, if you wait til 7:00 p.m the sushi stall goes half off and i love that for the sashimi salad. It's good for a so so korean bite to eat if you have no where to go and need to satisfy your korean craving. The mozart here isn't the freshest or offer the biggest selection either but at least it tried. This is the only korean market where you'll get bombarded with Korean church singers and recruiters so get ready for that since it's truly in the suburbs. Fish section is alright. Great place for fresh vegetables/fruits and produce. You have options you would not find at any American supermarket. Korean supermarkets are more international when it comes to options and prices are often less expensive compared to their American counterparts. They sell literally everything from fruits/vegetables, seafood/produce. cookware, cosmetics, household appliances, and even furniture. Don't let the international feel of the place scare you away, they do speak English here (we are in the USA after all). You don't need to be a member of any club to get special discounts here (*cough Kroger +), everything is on sale already and everyone has access to them. If you're a health nut you can buy organic and health options here as well, for less than your average prices, "Whole Foods eat your heart out!" I'm really not much for rating a grocery market. They're all pretty much one in the same in so far as the items you would expect, and considering this is a Korean grocery market dedicated to a very popular Korean brand, you would get more such as necessary appliances and utensils such as a rice cooker/steamer or Korean skin care products on top of their wide selection of meat and produce. The reason for the 4 stars is due to the the sheer size of the place based on the surround environment. I'm definitely reading that the one off in Duluth is bigger and I did check that out but I didn't like the surround area. The street there towards the 85 is a cluster**** of intersectioned mess that looks more accident prone than anything else. Clearly someone was drunk when they made it so definitely recommend this Assi Plaza market over the one in Duluth even if it is a longer drive, it's a simpler area. The selection was great, the produce looked fresh, the food court had variety of basically the same things as your regular Korean streetfood, and I saw kids hanging out there which means it's affordable to eat there. Obviously you're gonna get the Assi brand majority so don't be surprised by how much everything is labled with Assi but between that and what looks to be decent quality items at a very decent price, definitely recommend it. Take it from one who loves shopping at H-Mart where quality is as price does. You do get what you pay for and the quality of meat at H-Mart is top notch which means you pay top notch dollar. But Assi I found has not as great quality but it's at a decent price. Be mindful of the live fish and seafood stall they have there. The smell of fish will punch you in the nose!!!! read more

I am a little sad that Assi in Duluth closed down. I enjoyed going there back then. Now, it's City Farmer Market. I was in the area after visiting friends and needed green papaya to make spicy yummy papaya salad. The friends told me Assi is down the street. I haven't been to an Assi in so long! Nor have I ever been to this location. I didn't like the parking lot to the plaza but since I was there before noon. I had no problem finding a parking space. Walking in, I felt I was in Nam Dae Mun or something. While looking for green papaya, I saw Mexican papaya. Not the same thing. When I finally saw green papaya, there was only one left!!! And it was huge! I bought it anyways. I just explored the rest of the store to look around. I didn't see the food court. As soon as I leave, I saw another entrance to the food court. They've had a major decline. Too bad! As a frequent customer, the decline started with a few old looking veggies and fruits. Now, you can almost expect to see white fuzz on berries, over ripe and decaying fruits, and fruit flies. They also lie about their expiration dates. I bought chicken drumsticks and they went completely foul and disgusting the next day despite a much later expiration date. I just can't trust them with my health. 2 stars for the food court. This review is just for their 50%off kimbap if you go past like 6:00 pm. They have these cheap banchan right near the cashier. Normally assi kimbap is $4.99 but they reduce it at night to get rid of it so it was priced for $2.50. So good, so cheap. That's definitely filling for dinner. They also had some banchan on sale, like japchae for $2.00. Can't go wrong with that! Dduk was on sale too but I didn't get any. I actually really like Assi kimbap. read more

I remember when this location first opened up, I was so excited that there was finally a new Korean store in the Atlanta area! They carry all your typical Korean grocery and household good items and you can find some pretty good deals in produce. They have to compete with H Mart and the other various Korean stores in the area, so they keep their prices competitive. The seafood section is extensive and I love their ready made foods section. They also have a food court area that include a Japanese place, a Chinese place, Korean street food and a Korean entree place. I think they have also added in an American food place as well. There is also a bank, bakery, and Korean "health" place here as well. Last time I went, I saw there was a Korean accessory counter by the exit as well. The place is nice though they should work harder on keeping their bathroom clean and in order. Also it can be a bit of a wait to get out of the parking lot if you're turning left (heading back towards I-85) so be prepared for that. And watch out for the crazy drivers in the parking lot. This is definitely where I see lots of fender benders and near misses the most! Be sure to check out the other stores in this shopping center area as well! This is our go to place for quick lunch or dinner when we can't decide what to eat. The food court offers so many choices. The grocery part has everything you need but nothing really special. I noticed that they lack in the ice cream department, not always having the staple Korean ice creams in stock. When we were signing up for their "point card", the lady at the customer service desk was extremely rude to us for calling their "point card" a reward program. Living in Sugar Hill, I believe this is the 2nd closest Asian/farmers market. There's H mart on Lawrenceville Suwanee rd but I feel like the prices are a little more reasonable here. I came in around 11:30 on a Sunday and it wasn't terribly busy. The parking lot itself shares with a lot of other businesses so if you come during prime time, you may be pressed to find some decent parking. I was only there for a handful of vegetables and meat for pho and everything was easy to find such as Thai basil, culantro, cilantro, onions, and thinly sliced beef brisket. The couple of times that I've been here, the lines were not long and the cashiers were super friendly. An added bonus, if you're hungry there are various samples for you to try. Ah. This place. I think of this place as the cheaper version of Hmart. The shopping experience here is a tad more chaotic than Hmart, but prices are definitely cheaper. And you don't need a shopper's card to get these prices, they are automatic. I really like the price tags showing the original price and sale price to show you the deal you're getting. The employees here are pretty friendly, something different than Hmart's experience for non-Koreans. To be honest, I drove all the way to Assi (Suwanee) because I needed to find an international food store and frankly I was disappointed. I must say, the store is incredible clean but they lack the "international" food's side of being such a farmers market. Any aisle I walked through in which they had labeled such as 'Hispanic,' 'american,' etc had no such type of products. Everything in those aisles were Asian and mainly Korean for that matter. On 2 separate occasions I asked employees in the assistance of locating items or if even carried them and they all looked dumbfounded. I was directed to the lady in frozen foods and she said "i dont know, sorry" to everything I asked. Their produce can be VERY cheap, but it is often kind of dated compared to Mega Mart. I once bought Tortillas, like white corn soft Mexican style, and the were like Moldy a few days later. I was annoyed and took them back, but of course time is money, so that was a futile action at best. I like this one since it seems a little cleaner then Pleasant Hill where I feel like I am going to catch TB walking around. It is also close to one of the Starbucks I frequent. This Assi is definitely not as big as the one off of Pleasant Hill Road in Duluth, however, it provides all the Asian grocery essentials you'll need and more! I tend to compare all my Asian grocery store experiences to H-mart, so that's how this review will be outlined. FOOD: 4.8 Produce, produce, produce! If you're into lots of fruits and veggies, this place is your best friend. Not only are most of the produce cheaper than H-mart's, I would say there may just be even more exotic selections. I took 0.2 points off due to the freshness, which may have to do with the fact that we were shopping at 8:30pm, but you could definitely tell some produce we're getting prune-y! PRICE: 5 Cheaper than any other Asian super market you'll find in metro Atlanta. Our weekly grocery runs usually cost around $30 - $40, we walked out of this place with the same amount of food having only spent $22! SERVICE: 5 Typical check our lines - fast and accurate. If I had to choose between Assi and Hmart, I would choose Assi. See below for details. Assi has a much bigger food court and they have much more variety in the food they offer. Chinese, Japanese, Korean, international, and snacks as well as a little bakery. The menus are also of a wider variety so everyone's taste buds will be satisfied. Another difference is that Assi plays the hottest kpop tunes in the store while Hmart likes to play repeats of random English songs; I guess I like the atmosphere in Assi better than Hmart. Also, you're more likely to see a more diversity in customers at Assi than at Hmart. In the Lawrenceville-Suwanee area, Assi is bigger than Hmart so Assi has much more variety in groceries and meats. If I'm planning on making pho, I prefer to go to Assi compared to Hmart because Assi has better deals for the herbs I need; they also have better cuts of meat. Another great thing about Assi is that it's in a good location. Assi is smack dab in a plaza that is surrounded by good restaurants and businesses so if you get hungry before going shopping, you can eat at a nearby restaurant before going shopping (if you're not in the mood for the food court). TLDR: you might want to check out Assi before going to Hmart but it all comes down to personal preference. read more
